Hi, Noscapine, the guild I’m in took a break from raiding but we are about to start back up soon. Also, we do PvE content almost nightly. If you don’t mind I would like to chat a little in game with you a little bit tonight.
Hi, Alsiel, welcome to GW2. If you are going to be on tonight I would like to chat for a while. The guild I’m in may be a good fit for you. I’ll whisper you in game soon.
Actually, I really like these ideas. Granted I’m just now moving from Warrior to Guardian, so I certainly lack experience. On skill 2 I like your suggestion. I don’t see it as a power creep threat since the target could move out of the AoE. My only dislike is your proposed change to skill 4. The animation, and thus rooting, seems nostalgic. I don’t know if the source of my feeling comes from something in GW1 or just years of watching Guardians in GW2. Was there even a skill similar in animation in GW1? I can’t remember, it’s been to long.
Wow, I just can’t fathom the level of skill it took to do that. Bravo to you! Very impressive indeed.
Focus on leveling your toon by map clearing. It’s easy to do, gets your toon leveled fairly quick, and helps in learning the basics of the game. Ask your new guild for advice and help with challenges if you get stuck or can’t figure a specific function out. Finally, enter the PvP lobby to insta level your toon to 80 so you can get an idea of what is in your future in terms of utilities and trait lines. When you leave the lobby your toon will return to their normal level.
As soon as you can start reading up and asking in your guild about crafting. You don’t have to wait to craft but keep in mind crafting is great for leveling which you may not want right now; only because you will miss out on the mechanics roaming a map will teach. Also, mapping will give you the chance to mine, chop, and harvest everything in your path which not only helps with leveling but will also give you materials for crafting later. The more you gather now the less you have to purchase later.
Once all that is done and your toon is level 80 you can worry about fractals and raids. Oh, I forgot to mention dungeons. When a dungeon unlocks you will get an in game mail. Ask your guild mates to help you run the storyline. I suspect you will enjoy it and it will give you some loot which is always nice. Finally, your personal story unlocks the next section in groups of 10. So, if you are currently level 14 and can’t figure out where to go next it’s most likely because you need to reach level 20 to unlock the next story block. Don’t worry about personal story so much right now. In GW2 personal story is not the main means of leveling. I know that confuses some people who come over from other games. Point is, personal story is not the best way to level up a toon.
Hopefully all that will help you get rolling along. I’m NA but you can feel free to message me if you have questions. Also, remember to ask your guild questions. If they can’t take the time to help you that is a warning that you should find another guild.
Good luck!
Well, you could check out NOR. They are our sister guild and their guildies run through our raid training class. I would say “Hey, join us, we have a class”; but we are closed to recruitment right now. Our recruitment goes in cycles because we give each of our new members a preceptor to work with as they transition into membership.
Hi, Evenescence, we may be just what you are looking for. First though, I was wondering what times are you mostly active and what time zone are you in? I’ll try to chat with you in game tonight too. If our times work for you it will give you and I a chance to make sure we are the guild you have in mind.
Sitting at 3 of 6 slots filled already. One was reserved from last week so we only opened with 5. That leaves 3 slots left. If you are looking for a PvE guild that focuses on raids and fractals but also runs dungeons and all manner of mapping events (RIP AB meta) then we are the guild for you.
We are friendly to all manner of players except elitist/hardcore. We take our time to teach if you are new to GW2, we help to guide and gear you, we even have a raid class to help you gear up and get the basics of raiding. Finally, we hold an alliance with another guild to help them raid by loaning out our raiders and, of course, inviting them to come raid with us.
We are adult, no drama, no politics, no judging guild. We only ask that you take two weeks to decide if we are what you’re looking. At the end of the two weeks we can part ways as friends, we can help to place you in another guild, or you can stay and become a full member of a group that has a 90% retention rate. Members join but they don’t leave for other guilds. We lose them from RL pulling them away.
Hey, Zohee, what times are you on and in what time zone? We may be just what you are looking for. We do a lot of stuff together so even if you are working on a new toon or three, or you’re working on gearing up a toon, or most anything else for that matter; well, we got you covered. I tell you what, since you offered I think I’ll get with you in game.
It’s that time again when we look to add to our family. Last round of recruitment saw 9 people apply but only 7 of them made it. If you are going to join a guild, any guild, try to be active and join them for events. Anyway, I’m rambling off topic. Let’s do this thing! Eat, drink, and join a tight knit guild with a family feel. Maybe a little warped but hey, what family isn’t just a little?
We are now accepting 5 applications for our family. Joining is a 3 step process. First submit an application on our website click About KNHD. Second, we do a short in game interview. Third and final step is a 2 week process where you get to make sure we are right for you and vice-versa.
Well, if we are talking PvE then; yes, any intelligent build is viable. On that note, I see where you mentioned fractals. I understand why you swapped Tactics in favor of Discipline however you are actually making things harder on yourself and your team. When I am running solo in open Tyria I too use Discipline for fast hands and warrior’s sprint. When in a group though, the might share from phalanx strength is an integral part of team victory. It let’s you and everyone else on your team kill faster. I’m not saying you have to use it, and I stress again that I understand why you’re changing it. However, in my experience you are hobbling the whole party. Otherwise, inspiring battle standard is fine if you feel like more healing through regeneration.
I’m not sure why you’re using rune of fire without at least a torch. If you want cheap use Hoelbrak. They give the bonus on 1 through 5 but the 6th bonus on Hoelbrak will be more useful for you in all PvE settings.
Again, not sure why you’re using sigil of fire in your weapons unless you’re just wanting to watch that burst of fire around your target when you crit, but with kitten (really, “5-s” as in “5 second” is filtered to “kitten”) cd you have to ask yourself if it’s really worth it? I’ll use the air version but they are more expensive in return for a shorter recharge and single target strike. Anyway, if you want condi boost go sigil of bursting which affects all forms of condi, not just fire, and are cheap. Otherwise, I don’t know, you could battle, geomancy, or even leeching I suppose.
Hope something in there proves helpful.

If you want to see the Asura male and female animations whisper me in game tonight. I run a male Tempest and can get one of my guildies to bring a female Asura Tempest to show you anything you would like to see.
We are still getting applications but we are already over our recruitment limit for this cycle. We at KNHD love our members and really do not like to turn away any potential members. Please, if you would like to apply wait till the next cycle in 3 to 4 weeks otherwise we will have to put your application on hold until the next cycle opens. Thank you for understanding.
Culture and community come first with us,
DK
Hi, Boonimal, my guild is closed to recruitment right now but I can definitely recommend a guild named NOR. They are an amazing bunch; very helpful, friendly, and active group. You can contact them at the link above or by whisper or in game mail to Nimue.4892 or Windemere.6534. I know they would love to have you and they can help catch you up to speed with all PvE content from the changes in fractals to learning raids.
Yeah, we overshot our mark but all our applicants passed their interviews so we decided to accept them all and just assign extra mentors. So, see you all in a few more weeks!
Happy New Year! Or should that be Happy Wintersday? Well anyway, we are back to full operations and that means opening recruitment back up. With the start of the new year we are implementing several changes.
First, we are now accepting 6 new Squires per recruitment wave. We recruit in waves because we’ve been there, the new guildie who feels awkward and doesn’t know how to break the ice. When we recruit you get a 2 week period to work with a mentor who is there to help guide you and answer questions. Our mentors truly believe no question is silly so even if this is your first day playing GW2, you will find a home here.
Second change is to our fractal progression program. Yeah, we have one of those. If you are looking to get into fractals you have come to the right place. Whether you are a fractal pro or have never set foot in one before we have a progression schedule to help you along. Oh and yes, we help with the achievements too.
Third, we are starting a raid training program. Our RCT group will take you from ungeared and unprepared and guide you to your first victory there at VG. Once you graduate from RCT you get to join the KR. KR is the raiding group we run to assist guilds we are allied with in their efforts to raid. Also, once you graduate and make the rank of Knight you will be eligible to join our guild raiding group as well as get first dibs if we ever form another guild only raiding group; which we have plans of doing.
So, to wrap things up let me recap. Joining us means joining a drama free, clique free, laid back guild. We do not accept elitist or hardcore players so if that’s you move on. We gladly welcome new and veteran players who are looking for a friendly, honest, organized guild to log into after a long day and let the tension of RL slip away while doing activities with people who treat you like a friend, and not just another faceless number in a guild.
Six slots open, come join us by applying at our website or if you have questions you can message me in game.
Tell me ur favorite things about asura.
Asura dominate my slots too. For me it’s their background story and the fact that I enjoyed the Tinker Gnomes from Dragonlance, and Jeff Grubb developed them, is just like an added bonus for me. Thanks for helping to craft the Asura Jeff. At any rate, if I had to pick one thing that is my favorite about the Asura it is the Colleges. I used to RP more back before the Megaserver and the Colleges allow for great diversity between toons for me. Speaking of which…
COLLEGE OF SYNERGETICS RULZ! OTHER SCHOOLS DROOLZ
Okay, in after the copy/paste recruitment onslaught. Sorry, they just annoy me because half of them don’t actually bother to read what you wrote. Anyway…
Heya, Evolution. I’m 45, father of 3 teens and I believe my guild checks off your laundry list pretty well. Here’s what we have.
1. Mature: We do curse some but the crude stuff is kept in a separate section. Nothing really raunchy mind you but the guild is made up of 20-somethings and they like to cut up occasionally.
2. Helping Out: Yeah, we have this covered in spades. We are a growing guild so you might not find a full team every night but, for example, I’m teaching fractals tonight because someone asked, we are starting a raid instructions class next month, and dungeons are by request too. Now, we do have scheduled days for all that stuff but I’m just saying that if you ask, you can usually get without much problem. The exception might be when everyone is at a scheduled event but you are requesting something totally different.
3. No Cliques but Friendly: Yeah, we’re good. Proof is in the pudding brother.
What we ask: Have fun, have Discord, and if we don’t fit for some reason let us know and we might be able to at least help you find another guild. It’s more important that you stay in game then in our guild specifically. When a player leaves the whole community looses.
Anyway, if you’re interested let me know. We are on holiday schedule (most members out with family) but I’m sure we can meet up and chat in game a little. If nothing else you might be able to run some content with us just to stave off the slow holiday season.
Yes, Marauders is viable and a good compromise but take that with a grain of salt; any gear in PvE can be “viable”. I would suggest using a less expensive option if I may. As only one example; you could look into Soldiers stats which you can get with dungeon tokens, karma, or crafting with the insignia from your guilds merchant. The best option I would suggest though is the one we use on our guildies. We pair them up with someone of the same profession to run around with. The reasoning here being that the best way to learn is to watch, ask, and practice under a watchful eye. So, again I apologize if this next question seems silly but have you checked with your guild to see what help they can offer?
Condi will take a bit or two to ramp up and if your dying already going condi may make things feel hopeless. I’m not sure why and want to ask, what made you choose the defense line over gear? I mean, if you’re finding the HoT maps crazy tough and you are getting killed you would probably benefit more from changing gear. I’m not sure what’s going on and short of running around with you I don’t want to speculate. So, forgive my question if it sounds pointless.

So, we have 2 slots which we are only going to keep open until Friday the 9th. After that we’ll open recruitment up early January. If you are interested in raiding, fractals, dungeons, and just PvE content in general we do all that. We are drama free, clique free, and gluten free. Well, mostly gluten free at any rate. So, come give us a try, join our family, enjoy the luv! And abuse, yeah, that too.
Double post because of new page bug.

Oh, I didn’t mention that did I? Yeap, as Scone said we offer all dungeon paths, fractals from 1 to 100 (OMG 100 is tough), mapping, raiding, lions, and tigers oh my!
Wow, I see full recruitment mode was activated already ah? Gotta love copy and paste.
Anyway, Shark, we are looking for quality and there is some info missing from your post that helps the serious recruiters to place you. What time zone are you? When are you most active? Finally, what content are you most interested in doing?
Alright, happy days again. So, we have 1 slot open. Normally we do 3 at a time but we have decided to up it to 4 this round. So, if you are interested feel free to contact me with questions or just apply at our website.
Let me get in touch with you, we are CST but more like 6 or 7 to midnight or 1 am since we have several West coast members. Between NOR or us I’m sure we can get you a place to call home. The most important thing is that you are both happy and stay in game; then the community wins. I’ll chat with you tonight if that’s okay.
Hi, Maguni. Actually we aren’t open for recruitment but since you’re a husband and wife team, and we have a 3 other couples in the guild, I figure we can bend the rules and bring you both in if you two are interested.
So, we do fractals up to tier 4 and we teach them of course. We have a dedicated raid team and we also raid with an ally guild, NOR. So you could get into raids; and yes, we teach them. :-)
Now, what I’m wondering is what time zone are you two and when are you most active? That will make a difference since we have a weekly schedule. It’s still possible to do fractals outside the scheduled time block though. On that note we do dungeons and other PvE content, thought I should throw that out there as well.
No, it’s not. Purple Miku left the game and to the best of my knowledge no one took over to maintain it. Same for the Dulfy guide I believe.
Oh, look at that. I forgot to update the thread. We have our 3 new members for the November recruitment. If you are interested in joining please submit an application at our website. Our next recruitment drive will be in early December. We only take 3 applicants at a time.
This is Technomancer Jaat signing off for now. Remember, once you go Asura, you never go back. lolz
Back when I used to RP, before the megaserver, there was an Asura only RP guild. I joined but even back then it was mostly dead. I can’t find them now but I’m pretty sure that over the years I’ve run across a few others. Sorry I couldn’t help more.
Have you tried the GW2 RP forums?
What Sakura said. Otherwise if you let me know a day or more in advance I can usually bring enough members from my guild to get most missions done. We won’t charge you. It would be free. It’s just our way to be helpful.
Unfortunately, my guild already picked up our 3rd recruit or I would like to try and recruit you myself. However, I know of a great guild that’s looking for members. They are small, if you don’t mind that, but they are a great group; laid back but still serious enough that they get the job done. I know they run raids and fractals because we work with them on both, as opposed to pugging. I’ll send your info there way. If for some reason they can’t pick you up I’ll see about a waiver to the rule if your interested. What time zone are you?
Actually, I know of a guild that you might like. I’ll have that guild leader contact you if you want.
Wow, fresh off a great vacation where I got to see my oldest daughter graduate basic training. Fantastic! Now back to recruitment. We have 1 open slot left. Actually, it was filled by a guy from EU who wasn’t even sure if he would be able to keep playing due to RL stuff; and he couldn’t.
So, 1 slot open. We are a PvE focused guild. We mainly do fractals but we have 2 raid teams, have a training program of sorts if you need help with specific content or a profession, use Discord, and have an upgraded guild hall. We are a very tight group with a family feel, in a Deadpool kinda way. So, drop off an application at our website to apply or if you have questions first send me a pm here. We are not a hardcore guild so either check your elitist attitude and drama at the door or don’t bother to apply.
Unfortunately that is well outside my guilds active time. Let me contact another guild that may be able to help.
I wanted to stick with Asura naming conventions so I named mine Technomancer Jaat.
Heya, Bacon, there’s nothing to be worried about in terms of your being casual and I don’t think you will get an “automatic no” from most anyone in this game. There are a lot of great groups you can join and just stick to in game chat until you feel ready to explore voice such as Discord. Coming here and asking was a great first step. I encourage you to contact Wolfieblitz in game and just let things flow from there. I would certainly enjoy joining in with you to get some hero points for your Druid unlock however I’m leaving on vacation tomorrow. My point is, this is a great game with some truly amazing people. Get with Wolfie, spend some time together, and I’m sure you will find a great home with them.
I certainly hope so, having people happy and in a guild they enjoy means they are more likely to stay in game. That in turn means everyone wins. So, even if my guild doesn’t work out I can at least recommend a few other great ones, ones I would join if I was searching myself.
Celebration Week is over and things went great. Congrats to our Asuraball team, team No Name, enjoy your $25 gift cards. Congratulations to Grumpy for winning Dawn in the Quaggan Race, JGJG for being the last one alive in naked fractals, now take that gold you won and buy some clothes, and of course congrats to every Knight for the hard work you’ve put in over the past year helping our family grow. Oh, and thanks ANet for that awesome cut scene that didn’t come with the Further Exploration upgrade. To say I’m jaded would be an understatement.
Anyways, it’s time to make babies, ahem, I mean add 3 more guildies. Our application process does come with an actual application. Yeah, we know you aren’t looking for a job but we aren’t looking for members. We are looking for family. If that’s what you want that’s what we have; and, we also offer fractals, dungeons, raids, mapping, as well as a few other things I’m probably forgetting. If you are interested we will open recruitment up on Monday the 31st but you can submit an application now. We only take 3 new members at a time though. First step is that application I mentioned, it’s on our website at http://knhd.enjin.com
Well, we are going to open recruitment back up come Monday, we are a PvE focused guild so you don’t have to try PvP or WvW but we have members who can certainly help you with that. We lean toward fractals but I’m working with a trio of other small guild leaders who want to get into raids since we have our own dedicated raid team. If you are interested and don’t mind waiting till Monday you are more than welcome to give us a try. Also I can recommend a few guilds that are more, relaxed. Meaning we are an adult soft R in voice and chat but if you prefer a soft PG-13, I know a guild I can recommend. Anyway, point is I want you to find a good home and I think we have that, I just don’t know if you want to wait a few days before we start recruiting. If you are fine with waiting you can drop off an application now on our website http://knhd.enjin.com
I can think of a few including my own. The only thing is recruiters, unless they are spamming a copy/paste recruitment message, will need a little more info to help place you. Are you EU or NA servers? What content do you enjoy, PvE, WvW, PvP, all of them? What time zone are you?
Sort of like tridents and gladiator style? Yeah, I feel that.
How about attack #5, spear your enemy, plant the base of the trident with your foot, and launch the speared enemy for 250 units behind you with a 2 sec knock down.

So the main argument that Dagger/Spellbreaker won’t be the next Warrior Elite is because of aesthetics? ROFL
Can’t tell if you’re joking or not. Assuming you are serious I would recommend reading back over the thread. So far the topic has covered aesthetics, functionality, intent, and available options given the current state of the game and warrior more in specific. As a matter-of-fact I think the topic of aesthetics really just came up in the last few posts. At any rate, back to the topic.
A very good argument/point, draxynnic. I have to concede that to you. In the end I still don’t see it being dagger/dagger for the above mentioned reasons which specifically are; Anet did not give any other Elite dual weapons. As already pointed out, two weapons is not the same as a dual handed weapon. Third, as you mentioned, it would not follow the thematic line Anet has adhered.
Personally, I’m still wishing for off-hand pistol which is what I’ve been wanting since back when Elites where first announced. If that fails I still really don’t want an off-hand dagger but since they already threw a torch at me I will take what I’m given and sulk about it later. Now, I know it was suggested as a joke but I would really would not mind getting off-hand hammer and give us a truly amazing CC on #4 and a breathtaking dps on #5. Both with long cooldowns of course. I would love to see the graphics as my little Asura rolls into combat wielding Twilight and Juggernaut. I would probably laugh so hard I would fall out my seat.
@Adrift I simply can’t see Anet designing an Elite that forces the player to only use a dagger, or any other weapon by extension, in both hands. None of the current Elites do that. For example, our Elite gives us the torch but we are not forced into using only the torch. I usually equip mace off hand.
@draxynnic While I agree with 99% of your above post, I even gave it a like, the one point I could not agree with was the ascetics argument. What I mean is, I agree it would look out of place running around with a main hand dagger and off hand axe/mace/charzooka; I am not convinced that would deter the devs from implementing it anyway (one tear).
Overall though I think if we are getting a dagger it will be off-hand. However, in all honesty I am not convinced that leak is accurate.
Well, if nothing else it still works wonders at Thermonova fractal to get across the cooling chamber.
theres a guild called the geezer guild. restricted to people 35 and older. thats all the info i can give ya
That was the one I was thinking of; thanks Needbeer.
Running a guild is a lot of work but also very satisfying when you see it take shape and know that you had a hand in developing the culture. Just keep looking and I would suggest asking in Map chat in the major cities. You may get lucky and find a guild you like.
Hey, Downhill, there was a guild that almost fits your list but I can’t remember the name of it right now. You will likely have to compromise on point 2. A guild that restricts itself to 60+ y.o. members is going to have a difficult time finding those members. For example, I have 2 retirees in my guild but neither are 60, close but not there yet. I would recommend you try a small PvE guild. There will be some younger members however this generation is helpful, lighthearted, and accepting. I know my young Knights put up with me and the other older guys pretty darn well. Anyway, I’ll do some leg work and send you a message in game with a guild name and PoC if I can track that guild down.
Just a quick update. We have added our 3rd new member and as such recruitment is closed again. If you are interested in joining you are more than welcome to submit an application at our website. I’m sure we can work with you so you get to know us a little before officially joining. Otherwise we will not open recruitment again till after Celebration Week. So, around the first week of November.
And remember, buy bonds! It supports your community and helps keep Asura gate taxes down. We love you all.
