Can you also add timewarp to the list?
Alot of times when using the skill the people in the area of effect do not get the buff from it.
Walking to the middle of it seems to fix it sometimes however this is not the way this skill is suppose to work.

Christ how misinformed are you? It’s pretty clear from what people are saying in this thread alone that there’s a bug with iZerker that causes it to miss on it’s first attack.

The original post that was made by the topic starter is not complete and probably a failure to troll.
Anyway he said that he keeps missing with berserker, so the skill he uses is being missed.
This only happens when out of range, if the berserker misses thats a different thing.
Anyway like i said this topic is nothing more then a failure attempt to troll, going by the poor amount of description of this.
Also considering the topic about this is still on page 1.

I would suggest gearing more chance to hit….
Glass “cannon” is probably the way to go in wvw, in spvp i would go a bit more surviveability.
However lately the “cannon” part is far from the real thing for mesmers.
An update on the startingpost would be nice considering there are plenty of bugs that are not on it.
For example timewarp is still bugged.
Using repair canister causes the game to crash.
Gg arenanet causing such a bug after preventing repair during fractals run.
Oh and a reimbursement for the fractels i should have gotten only didnt get due to this unacceptable bug would be much appreciated.
You can expect a redesign of the “old” dungeons in a future patch.
Same here, completed lvl 10 with 4 players however only 1 person got a ascended ring.
A fix and a ascended ring ( which players should get ) would be a good way to fix this.
Still looking for a 5th player.
Just completed lvl 10 with 4 players going for lvl 11 now.
We are a group that has done 6, 7 and 8 and 9 with 4 players.
However we are looking for a 5th player to complete the 9 and 10+ levels with.
If you are able to do a couple of runs today whisper me ingame.
Server we play on is the Far Shiverpeaks server. ( EU )
-edit : We just completed lvl 9 with 4 players so we are still looking for a 5th player to complete level 10 and up.
Current setup of group is 2x mesmers ( aka portal bots ) engineer and guardian.

Illusionary Berserker has not received a direct damage decrease. Instead, is seems that the damage reduction you (and I) are seeing is most likely associated this fix:
“Fixed a bug that caused many piercing, boomerang, and bouncing projectiles (those that hit more than 1 target) to continually increase in damage the more targets they hit.”
We are aware that this particular phantasm is now experiencing a significant drop in damage and are looking at getting it back to a more effective state.

Took about like what? 5 min ? for someone who plays a mesmer to figure this out.
Very good patch so far with regards to the new dungeon, really did a good job at looking what was wrong with the first dungeons.
However a stupid mistake like this with the mesmer ruins it for most players who play a mesmer.
So hopefully this is fixed during or very short after the weekend.
Because right now its pretty clear to say that a dps class like the mesmer with this low amount of dps is broken.

Why does a thread on asura ears get a response but something game breaking to a class doesn’t?
Because like i said, this is a intended stealth nerf.
Since they do spend their time moderating other forums you can only come to the conclusion that they simply refuse to reply to this topic.
The only reason for this is is that this is a huge stealth nerf and not a bug and that dont plan on changing it any time soon.
If it was a bug this would already have had a reply from a moderator.
This is why the mystic forge is a complete failure concept.
To unclear on what your reward might before you have to purchase the items.
You are better off letting other people do the testing and buy everything of the trading post.
If you cant buy it of the trading post then dont care about it, not like this game has a dps meter to show lack of gear anyway.

Yes its a ninja nerf which they probably did because they know it would piss of a lot of players.
They probably just did this because according to them the damage on the berserker was still to high.
And nerfing a skill twise in a row is just to much to post in the patch notes.
So either they are going to “fix” this later on by a little bit of a damage increase however still less then before this patch.
And before you use the customer excuse to arenanet, they dont care that much.
Its not a subscription based game and you already bought their game.
The portal nerf should have been something like “maximun number of portal uses reduced to 5”.
It will still be abused in wvwvw porting massive zergs instantly, all this change did was make jumping puzzles less forgivable for us.I was expecting some nerfs to our surviability and damage department, in that way I am happy with this patch, but thieves are still murder machines in pvp.
If you do that you basicly render the complete skill useless.
When setting the filter of the trading post to upgrade components and weapons you end up with upgrade components which do no fit in weapons.
Basicly rendering the filter useless.
You for example end up with upgrade components for rings and amulets, which arent really considered weapons.
Funny how people seem to complain about a small stat increase on a armor slot.
Considering this game has no damage meter or anything to really see the difference in the different stats.
So far it hasnt really made a difference at least for me if i did a dungeon in full exotic or in rare magic find gear.
So why would it make such a big difference between fulll exotic and some new ( small upgraded ) armor?
Apart from the 2nd upgrade slot which is probably needed to do something about new boss mechanics in dungeons.

Still not able to enter the dungeon since thursday last week.
Even when most likely a simple reset of the server would have been enough it seems very clear that arenanet doesnt seem to care.
Bit strange aswell that all the sudden on several servers its no longer possible to enter the same dungeon.
Smart thing to do btw, not giving a crap about your pve content during the time when the largest mmo releases a new expansion.

There is a bug with illusions of life aswell.
Used it several times today in dungeons on downed players, however nothing happened.
Arah on far shiverpeaks is still bugged, even after reported several times it still hasnt been fixed with a server restart.
Now its saturday, the time when alot of people are going to play gw2 and one of your dungeons isnt working.
Clearly a example of very poor game management.
There seems to be a bug with time warp.
Often when standing in the area of effect you dont seem to get the buff or lose it while standing in it.
Moving inside the area sometimes seems to renew the effect.
Just another utility skill added to the list that is bugged of a utility class.
You could try to turn off the clock aswell in the game, it could be related to the alarm you get.
I just did a wvw with the clock turned off and didnt have the bug.lolwat?

You can’t use them because they don’t want anybody to have an unfair advantage in sPvP.
So gearing up and spending effort on gear is a unfair advantage ?
Even though exotics have exactly the same stats as the gear in spvp and the only thing he would be doing is g—im—p..ing himself.

Most people don’t know how to read a Damage Meter correctly and tend to rate other players by nothing else than their DPS which is poisonous for the community.
This should not be a reason not to implement a feature as a damage meter.
There are plenty of people who know how to look at a damage meter and for those people information like that is very much needed in pve.
To the first poster, while it’s inevitable that other people will be judged based on their dps, that’s what happens when competition is involved, they go hand in hand. The compliment of any sort of competition is that those who are sub par will have to come to the conclusion that they are sub par. But that’s a necessary sacrifice. What is the point of playing a game where there’s no winner and everyone is just as good as everyone else? I’m sorry but that’s how 5 year olds play games in kindergarten so that their feelings aren’t hurt. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but if you’re old enough to play this game, then you’re old enough to understand how competitions work. And honestly, if you’re only a casual gamer looking for a casual experience, then those sorts of things shouldn’t matter to you anyway. For a casual, why should you care about who is the best of the best? That’s for the more hardcore gamers who want to have a damage meter anyway, so why does it matter?
Damage meters arent ment for casual gamers but are ment for gamers who like to test out certain builds dps wise.
Also are ment for people trying to see where something might go wrong in pve.
For example if someone takes a x amount of more damage then others when its not needed.
Or who is doing the most amount of damage on a certain mob.
There are always be competition but thats not the reason behind a damage meter, if someone uses it as a competition then well, sucks to be him.
But in the end even with competition only the pve skill level will increase since other players will push themselfs even further.
Actually there’s no point in determining how much dps each player has, because the cap stats are simply the cap stats there’s no “enhancing” here, either “gear-ing”, you just have to play your class and, as I’m guessing you’ve hit the cap, I’m confident players have already tried a number of builds in 80 levels…. am I right? I mean the only way you could say somebody’s not doing his job is… that you see the guy afk.
There is a low gear cap in this game yes, however when someone is slow on retargetting mobs/bosses.
Or isnt in range enough, then it shows that person needs to improve.
And the builds you mention cant be tested without a damage meter.
If there was a damage meter, tell me what incentive would I have to revive a downed player or play support/control in a dungeon? I’m competing against them, I can’t run over to help them, it would hinder my DPS. That is the exact mentality that you’ll get if you introduce such a tool. Throw down a healing rain? Nope, would ruin my DPS. Bring a profession that doesn’t do as much damage as another one to your party? Nope, not enough damage, slows down the dungeon.
Wrong in every way and clearly shows a lack of pve experience.
First of all this would show in resses and healing done, since reviving is healing.
So when someone is low on damage done however high on healing done you can see that player saved the day.
GW is not a DPS game, if you want a DPS meter either find a way to make your own or play a different game.
Wrong, gw2 is all about dps and surviability.
Every class has their own healing skills with some having small group local group heals, however the main part of gw2 is dps.
This game is not based around the trinity, its based around utility and situational awareness. Something which means that a damage meter wont be an option to display skill.
Also not true, the trinity is healing/tanking/damage
In GW2 there is a duality tanking/damage
So there is stil a damage role for most classes so its one of the most important aspects of the pve part of the game.
Anyway i pretty much proven everyone wrong who thinks that a damage meter shouldnt be in GW2.
The reason however there wont be a damage meter in GW2 is because Arenanet would then have to balance the game in a pve aspect.
This is something they cant be bothered in doing since their main focus is pvp and pve is just something on the side to entertain players who arent to focused on pvp.
This isn’t a bug. When you create an illusion, it replaces your oldest clone by preference; if you don’t have any clones out, it will replace your oldest phantasm instead.
Not that i want to discuss this on this forums forever however this is a bug.
Since plenty of times this doesnt seem to happen.
Even when its suppose to be working this way its a fault in the game mechanic of the mesmer since it renders the skill “mirror blade” pretty useless since it drops your dps by 1/3.
You can disagree with me on this but keep that to yourself since this is a subforum to post bugs etc.
Arah 2nd path final boss.
When you have the buff and go in your illusions like berserker dont do any damage.
This is a gamebreaking bug since the mesmer class dps rely’s mostly on these illusions.
To add to the list.
Ilusionary defender is not working.
When using the skill ( even when in range of a boss ) the defender does not show up.
Just had a fight in arah explorer where defensive skills are very much needed as a kittened dps as the mesmer.
However every single time in the whole fight not a single time did the defender show up after using the skill.
2nd bug
When using mirror blade while having 3 berserkers up the berserkers are being replaced by useless illusions.
This makes using a skill like mirror blade pretty much useless because it will result in losing 1/3 of your dps.
3rd bug.
When using `temporal curtain it sometimes doesnt work when you run over.
Most of the time when you very close to the place you plant it.

Yeah… nah.
It’s doable, and it’s fun. You just need to be smart. I run greatsword and sword/sword or sword/pistol depending on the boss. Blurred frenzy and illusionary riposte are critical for survival, the root from illusionary leap/swap is helpful. For mobs that knock down I run mantra of concentration to break out of it and get away.
Being in mele range is a lot more dangerous and it’s not nearly as easy as just using ranged abilities, but it’s a lot more fun and more rewarding gameplay.
Have fun playing as a melee mesmer then, i suggest you try either a thief or a warrior if you really like to play a melee class.
You can even try to make a level 1 go and do some testing on some dummies in the mist and you can see the dps difference.
@Carighan you are the wrong who is wrong here.
DPS has nothing to do with elitistjerks or wow.
The fact remains that a warden is a DEFENSIVE skill and yes its stationairy only so is a aoe made by any class.
Chaos storm is stationary and wont move on its self for example.
Berserker is a OFFENSIVE skill so it makes more sence and should do more damage then a defensive skill like a warden.
Anyway, when someone starts linking a damage from a skill with a game like wow and “elitistjerks” i tend to not even bothering to discuss with such a unexperienced player.
Melee as a mesmer?
You will pretty much end up dead more then anyone else, also you have to buff defensive stats so much that your dps goes even lower.
Your melee dps is way lower then for example the thief and warrior so dont even try to go melee as mesmer.
Isnt arcane thievery suppose to send your condition to your foe and also remove them from you ?
Considering you send those conditions to someone else.
Because if so , then this whole skil isnt working.
Then i suggest you play a mesmer and go to a dummy and test it out for yourself.
A warden which is a defensive skill does twice the damage of a berserker.
Even though a warden stays in 1 place doesnt really matter, in for example pve when a boss or any mob stays in 1 place for a long enough time you are better of using a warden for dps then a berserker.
They will probably end up nerfing the warden to do hardly any damage and keep the berserker in the useless state it is in.
Staff got it all, it got dmg, it got support, it got heals, blocks, leap, blindness, poison cripple, Might, fury, conditions etc etc ^^ Look guardians melt.

what a silly reference, if thief crit me 10k this only means that i crit him as much and may be even more, diffrence is just that thief do not have clones and i do.
I highly doubt it that you as a mesmer will be able to crit 10k.
Unless ofc the player has a stack of 25 invul. on him during the fight.
True, anyone can take 5 min. in a hearth of the mist situation where every profession has their end game stats and figure this out.
Mesmer their aoe is poor and single target dps is also to poor and to dependant on illusions.
These illusions however die basicly all the time which makes your dps even worse.
Other true dps professions do not have this problem with illusions.
The other “reflecting” skills of the mesmer doesnt work either.
Another example of poor testing.

That pretty much shows how messed up the mesmer class is and how little they have tested this game, if they even tested this game.

Have you ever done a group without a warrior/guardian? try it out – Dont think of it as a dps race. mesmers add alot to the group, Also im not sure what this “kittened” means… my gs beserker phanty hits for around 2-2.5k per swing and warlock hits around 7k per cast. Add that with mirror sword etc. Im not sure what the prob is. Is the mesmer dps lower than the warrior? maybe but who gives a crap? can the warrior create an entry portal and send the group to the other side of traps? can they mass invis the group to escape impending doom? nope. Also illusions can be used as aggro, sure they die in one hit but thats one less hit someone in the group is taking. I will agree our dps could use a boost and the changes they did brought the mesmer dps down but I try not to look at this game as a dps race. I look for the support I can put in groups.
So basicly you are saying the role is very situational, where other true dps classes have a far better role in a group.
I have yet to come across a fight where a mesmer skill is really needed.
I tried that greatsword setup only still your dps is subpar compared to other classes.
In gw2 you basicly have 5 dps classes in a dungeon, however they all have their own role.
A guardian is the one that does a bit of healing and tanking however the most classes are all dps.
So is the mesmer however its dps is way to low for pve compared to all classes.
The few bonusses it gives like timewarp and feedback are to situational and not worth taking a low dps.
It seems that gim ped is being changed into a other word

After becoming level 80 on my mesmer and doing some dungeons i wonder what the role of the mesmer is in pve.
I havent played any other class at level 80 in pve, only after seeing the dps of for example the warrior i came to conclusion that their role isnt dps since its subpar compared to other classes.
Also buffing other players with some attacks like wind of chaos doesnt seem worth bringing a subpar dps class.
