According to the Skin Wardrobe, it’s called “Mordrem Saber”. It’s also the Sword, that Legendary Blademaster Diarmid wears.
I don’t have any precise build draft yet, but I could imagine Zealot’s gear (Power, Precision, Healing Power) to finally be of some use. That way you would still be able to deal damage while being able to excel in healing. Apparently there is also a “Forsaken” stat combination (Power, Toughness, Healing Power), but I’ve never seen it before.
Unlike a lot of people, I’m very excited about the Druid and it adding a versatile role to the ranger.
I also believe, that even without healing power, the druid could heal quite well. On top of that, the Druid not only grants good healing, but also a lot of utility and control.
A Druid, both in common sense and GW Lore, transcends to a higher plane of existence and sees nature from a more cosmic point of view.
The druids from GW1 are strongly connected to nature, but what we, or rather the player character consider nature (plants, life, animals) might just be where their sphere of existence begins.
I really love the the theme of the elite specialization with the nature/plant life theme in normal form and the “higher sphere of existence” theme, while in celestial form.
It goes much deeper than the simple “druid is one with nature” theme I had expected.
Poor Well of Precognition… It did not deserve this. I especially liked the duality aspect on that one, but blur and endurance is just too defensive imo.
I’m also sceptical about Gravity Well. I really imagine these different CCs to look odd on larger enemies and again, I loved the stability for allies at the end. Now it’ just a CC plus damage.
Aside from those, the changes are amazing though.
WHY does everyone think they’re Mursaat?
The final battle in the living story was in a cave sealed by the Forgotten…
The golden city from the trailers is referred to even by developers as the Forgotten City.
I know it could just mean that the city’s existence has been forgotten, but with a race of that name connected to lore, they probably would have named it lost city or something.
Also, if you look closely to their appearance, you might notice, that the Exalted don’t have legs, but rather a tail-like lower body…
- (Raises shield and shouts " ’murica!" granting 2s Alacrity & inflicting 2s slow to all targets within 600r every 6 seconds)
Or give that thing a Warhorn and let it blow out Alacrity and Slow in a 600 radius every few seconds. :D
- All for one: If Frostbite dies, your party dies as well.
- Vote for Kiel: If Inspector Ellen Kiel dies, your party returns to the Mistlock Observatory. All progress will be lost.
Exalted Temple
we don’t have confirmation on the true nature of these beings. Their color theme is close to the Mursaat’s, but they don’t have legs. Instead they have a tail-like lower body part and their city seems to be called the Forgotten City…
Thanks for the long reply! I can only talk about this from a PvE/Dungeons perspective as I hardly ever play PvP and I use other classes for my rare WvW visits.
The blast idea just came to mind and wasn’t really thought through. I thought about more organized situations in a group with timed field placement and so on.
Anyway, I’m sure Chaos armor has it’s use and I’m always happy when that purple bubble appears around my character, but I’d really love to see some variety in my combos, instead of creating confounding bolts with my warden or my berserker or leaping into close range on Sword 3 for chaos armor. Same goes for confusion projectiles.
I know there are some classes, that also just have two types of fields (e.g. Guardian) but they seem to have a greater number and variety of finishers.
That being said, I wouldn’t be opposed to having an on demand, reactionary Blast finisher, such as through a traited Mind Wrack, or simply on Greatsword 3. Mind Stab.
This! Ever since I started playing, I wondered why they didn’t make Mind Stab a blast finisher. Having a Blast Finisher on a shatter could also be interesting though.
It would be fun if the Shield didn’t just block projectiles but also acted similar to Line of Warding, meaning that the enemy had to move around it to attack us.
I really like the idea of condition cleansing per pulse on Well of Eternity, since the elite specialization doesn’t provide a single condo cleanse. I’d rather like to use another of these amazing wells instead of using the skill slot for Mantra of Resolve or Null Field.
It would also contribute to the utility/support role of the Mesmer.
Why can’t the time wells blast on their last hit? Or just some of them like calamity, action and gravity. It would also add an interesting gameplay aspect, since you would have to time fields better since the blast occurs when the wells expire. However, the wells already being fields could pose a problem, if they just blast themselves…
Maybe the field can disappear just before the blast procs.
I main Mesmer and I’m really fine with not having that much finishers (especially blasts), but in my opinion, Mesmers have way to many etherial fields.
So couldn’t we at least get some new fields with the wells?
Well of Recall – this one chills enemies when it expires, so couldn’t it be an ice field instead of another ethereal? Just an example.
Another well could give a lightning field. I think it’s a bit sad that there are so many fire fields in the game and the Mesmer as nine ethereal fields as a Chronomancer, while there are fields you can only get from like two skills.
Here’s a portal I found when gliding around. Unfortunately you can’t enter it at this time but I’m wondering where it might lead.
Where is this portal located on the map?
The Glory of Tyria seems to be in the canopy area in the mid-northern part of the map. If I recall correctly this was shown in one of the early Streams about Verdant Brink. Anyway, there is a Waypoint called Pact Flagship Waypoint an old image of the map.
It’s actually odd that there are so many ship wrecks with the Glory ship model, if there is only supposed to be one. Then again, the Silverwastes loading screen already showed two Glories of Tyria.

I’ve never noticed that stranger before, but it could be that mysterious person, called " E", that interacts with certain characters during Living World Season 1 and 2 and seems to know a lot about what’s going on.
When we’ll know the next specialization (thief please XD) I’ll re-adjust the picture! (the herald is a bit too big because I tried to cover the empty space and i believed it was a norn ^^)
That_Shaman just data-mined the headpiece from the data-mined “ninja-like thief with staff artwork” and it says “dare devil”.
Whether it’s a Norn or a buffed Sylvari, I think the herald looks a bit too big next to the others (just look at how small the Tempest appears in comparison).
Torch seems cool.
I wonder what the additional mechanic to compensate only an offhand will be – only an F2 in addition to F1 or something else as well?
There was mention of one specialization getting a defiance bar as a mechanic and if they didn’t mean the Tempest’s earth overload ability, I could imagine the Warrior turning his full adrenaline bar into a defiance bar for some time.
What will the next teaser be? I’m dying of excitement! I’m thinking Engineer! Will Forge be the name? Will hammer be the weapon? WILL DRONES BE THE DRONES?
EDIT: Warrior Specialisation, the Crusader has been revealed!
Crusader? Where did you read that? As far as I know, it’s going to be “Berserker”. According to that data-mined trait background at least…
seems unlikely based on the existance of berserker gear, I’d think “Barbarian” is more likely. but we’ll see. (crusader doesn’t look right)
Well, that’s what the data-mined image said. Just like the Engineer image said “Forge”.
Of course, that doesn’t have to mean anything, but there is also a Necromancer Achievement that has “Reaper” in it. So names being already in the game doesn’t make it impossible either.
Considering Berserkers to fight in a trance-like fury while ignoring any pain (e.g. due to fire) and the fact, they compared themselves to animals and their strength (like Bears and Wolves) that name would also fit the Torch with animal design.
Oh and the German title for the Warrior elite spec picture says:
“Wenn die Wut in mir brennt, und das Adrenalin durch die Adern schießt…!”,
which can be translated as:
“When the rage burns inside me and the adrenaline rushes through my veins…!”.
Sounds pretty berserky to me. :P

I would love sword off-hand, but the reason Thiefs will probably never get this is because of the possible main-hand dagger/off-hand sword combination, since it would look really odd auto-attacking enemies with a small dagger while you drag a sword behind you in your off-hand.
not really. it’s not uncommon in history to have a short/long sword combo, with the short sword used to batter down an enemy’s defences while the long sword is used to deliver the finishing blow.
First of all, usually that is a long sword / dagger combo, not a long sword / short sword combo. Second of all, the long sword is then always used in the main-hand, not in the off-hand.
This. A short sword would also make more sense than a small dagger that you hold backwards.
But historical use of swords and daggers aside, it would look just not right in game. For the same Reason Warriors will probably never get dagger or pistol main-Hand… Imagine that with a mace in off-hand.

Well, there is that artwork with Rytlock looking at a Pale Tree in the jungle, so there is likely going to be something in HoT.
I can’t seem to find it, but it was shown during the HoT Announcement.
Even though the image shows a bright tree like the one in the grove, I could also imagine the other tree to be corrupted, or a dungeon. Or it could even be where Mordremoth is located.
I would love some Kralkatorrik Weapon Skins that look like branded structures or crystals. The Pinnacle Weapon Skins, but no one has gotten them until now because you need 29000 Achievement Points and the player with the most has a bit over 28000.
And I also would like to see more elemental Skins. We have plenty of fire and ice-themed Weapons, but I really want some Water or Earth Weapons.
Considering there are already Weapons for Dwayne, Balthazar and maybe Melandru, I’m sure there will be Skins for Grenth, Lyssa and hopefully Kormir in the future.
There’s actually a data-mined shield skin which is essentially a crystal dragon wing, plus there are two data-mined shield skills. The elementalist sword warhorn debate proved that data-mined skills don’t mean anything, but a fully developed shield skin seems pretty obvious to me.
I think we all know by now that the Revenant will most likely get a Glint legend for its elite specialization. But I would also love to see another legend added to the base class, although that’s not going to happen.
I actually like the Idea of a flame legion legend, but I also noticed the lack of female legend with 4 males vs Glint.
It’s really unfortunate that the game actually made you feel sick. I never had that kind of experience.
However, in regards to gameplay and atmosphere of Verdant Brink, I just love how the map isn’t very open and that it makes you feel confined and uncomfortable. I mean think what happened there. It’s a post-catastrophic setting. An entire fleet got destroyed and probably thousand people died. The more the map can deliver those impressions of chaos, disorientation , sorrow and loss, the more I can emphasize with that situation. I don’t want to run through the wreckage of the pact thinking how open and beautiful the environment feels to me.
