IRON is a very, very big guild, with very active players. Not only did we queue A map, we queued all.. Including many PvE maps and Lion’s Arch. All on our own.
If another group wanted to come on a map, they had to pay us.. How on earth did you guys think our commanders could afford all those Superior Flame Rams for the wooden towers all over WvW

In all seriousness, we enjoy killing servers. We plan to kill all servers.

Why are we arguing about? Merc are good WvW’s yet JQ is still trailing Bg . The balance thing might be a good argument according to the score, regardless of how they handled it.

The funny thing is about week 1 is that SOR probably would have won if JQ SEA didn’t think we were the weakest server and decided to 2 v 1 SOR at the end . It was a bad call on their part and would have given you all the 2 v 1 against BG in week 7 that you had been dreaming about.

So no one from JQ should be complaining about the 1st week 2v1 . You bet on the wrong pony

You mean no other server has a SEA force? Yeah, Foo has large numbers and great commanders but they play normal SEA time and except for some of the first matches after GW2 started there were guilds like WM which could field ~even numbers and other SEA guilds on SoR, BG, SoS, SBI.
The ZDs timezone is not covered at all, even RG played EU time because many of their players were GMT+2 and not GMT+3-4.

The problem with timezones is that a gap from 1-2 hours decides matches. That’s the main problem on the big three.
Maybe you should lookup the history of your server.

So, now remember that this recruitment thread brought you more SEA coverage, while having the best OCX and EU coverage at the given time.

None of the big three should have those gaps, but they always existed. JQ never had huge OCX or EU over a longer period. SoR solved the EU problem by recruiting IRON and could fight your EU, but they lack coverage in at least two other timezones. Meanwhile BG didn’t show up in the last week before the season and called out “that JQ is even more stacked”. That lie worked until week 2, when you totally rolled SoR with your server finally showing up in full force and bringing ZDs to close the last possible hole in your gap.

I’m really looking forward to season 2 and hoping ZDs is joining SoR or SoS or TC and we will see what happens.

1. Every server knows that they bought the guild (ZD) to be on and to be the strongest server during every NA servers (especially SoR and JQ) weakest timezone to sway league their way.

<shrug> While ZDs move to BG has been covered in a large number of threads before, the pertinent point is that JQ have done exactly what you’re accusing BG of. JQ paid MERC’s leadership to move from BG to JQ – a double whammy because JQ were strengthening their PPT while denuding that of their competition (there’s a distinction here with ZDs’ move that should be understood). The PPT results can be seen in the mos results for W41.

Did you not play oceanic at all on BG and see how many guilds played on JQ at that time? They had none as TKG is technically SEA from the hours that they play (~8pm oceanic). BG recruited more oceanic to counter SoRs OC, which was composed of late NA nightowls, HIRE (who could run a queue zerg themselves) and OCX/TSYM/GC/early SEA. Back then it was justified, now it is not – with OCX going more to the PvE spectrum of PvX and HIRE reforming; us moving meant that we were no longer getting 450+ ppt in oceanic which wasn’t fun for us at all. I get that you’re kitten ed that we moved, but seriously if we wanted to PvE we’d all be playing hello kitty online.

The week before leagues was kinda irrelevant considering it was admitted by a lot of commanders from BG via tells and on this forums that they were taking a break that week. Also in regards to the leadership being paid, well thats kinda misleading; we were given 40-50 gold per core member after after we transferred from our own funds (~110 gold). Moving was because we were dying on server, and I’ve told you this multiple times but you keep on whipping an imaginary dead horse over and over again.

By watching the ppt/stomp on timezone it’s really clear the match will be decided in the weakest timezones and thats when OCX logs off and EU isn’t online.
FOO is hard to fight outnumbered.

Only strange thing is the preference to split into so many squads. With so few people in any individual squad, it’s impossible to take anything except camps and ruins. Defending is easy; one scout report goes off and every squad goes to the attacked objective. But we can’t take anything substantial. Why do we split up so?

to the ZD engi and warrior I roamed with on jqbl sunday night /salute . was most fun I had in awhile! Never saw a more effective 2 man roamer group. Took out all siege in 2 towers and flipped fully up graded north camp with a ton of yak kills. They didn’t even need my +15 supply

No-ones giving up, its mainly the number of hours being played being reduced without anyone else to cover coupled with BGs increase in coverage. The week 7 match will be extremely interesting.

It’s because the mentality was that BG was the weaker server going in to week 2. Jq Sea decided to back Bg at the end of week one because the thought by SOR and JQ was that we were going to lose a majority of our 3 matches . Reset weekend was proving that this was true. SOR came hard to shut us down and break morale. Bg had other plans knowing SOR is weaker during the week and brought the 18k lead down to 2k and closing fast . Enter ZD. A super good guild out of nowhere.

In SOR’s defense it was unexpected. Heck most of the players on BG didn’t expect it. I don’t buy this “zd has a weird time zone” thing. I’ve played T1 since January and have seen all the time zone juggling. What you are seeing is 100% morale. I believe that if we didn’t close such a ppt gap before they transferred , or they transferred before league started they would not have made such an impact. SOR couldn’t plan for it, just like we have planned out our time zones and tactics before league began. We had a couple months to figure out how to deal with 2 v 1 and where we could make up ppt and where we couldn’t. We know when SOR is weak and JQ is strong.

Now the once weakest server in the match up looks like the strongest. Lets face it , losing Merc and Tarkus was big. In the past they put in allot of work for Bg and made up allot of ground in ppt. Admittedly they have carried more than a couple of our golds. Tarkus knows all our time zones strengths and weaknesses. I thought we were in trouble too. But our PST NA and OCX put in work , and our SEA put in work even though they lost a good chunk of their players. They rolled with the punches and kept fighting . BG was going to be a cake walk and now we aren’t. Sorry it messed with your plans

TL;DR Blame morale , not ZD . Sucks you guys had to deal with them unexpectedly , but morale is what keeps people putting in the hours and the energy to learn to adapt. Hopefully next week you guys can put in a better showing after everything settles in

Well we have been called the Troll Wolves before, I do love a good tear fest! We have never gone out looking for anyone’s respect, I thought this was common knowledge at this point. Everyone forgets that we lost TKG, MERC, SUPR, RISE rB and RICH within two to three weeks of League starting.

No, the difference in the numbers you are seeing in the BL is not “buygate”.

We do not detag to discourage our “new WvW players”. We teach them, get them into TS and recruit them into the WvW guilds. All of our WvW guilds have gained in numbers throughout the last three weeks, while SORs map numbers have slowly shrunk.

Its true once or twice when defending garrison we’ve asked achievement hunters to get off if they aren’t on a lvl 80 but it is not the norm of our server at all.

BG has a very large PvE community. We had a large one before Teq, but now its much much larger. Why?

Because the leaders (not myself) of BG were smart enough to open our WvW TS up for the PvE players to use and coordinate to take down Teq. In fact, two of our best WvW commanders became consistent Teq raid leaders and got a huge influx into their guilds because of it. BAM GW2 announces on their facebook page how awesome BG is in PvE and we have a huge influx of PvEers transfer over from everywhere, because everyone wants to beat Teq while they can still get the achievements.

Now comes the part where ANET makes achievements that have a limited time window that can only be done in WvW, aka League. (this is after they give “awesome” chests out for every 500 achievement points you gain). What did you think would happen, all those PvEers flocked into our WvW maps.

Do we complain? Do we detag? No, we do everything we can to show the fresh meat how awesome WvW is by organizing massive TS permission drives for our new players to get into TS. All our WvW guilds recruit like crazy. Some guilds get so full, the only time they can all fit is off hours, like Oceanic or late EU.

Don’t blame BGs influx of numbers on a zerg of 30 Russians. We’ve been working on reaching out for new WvW blood for months, and its starting to hit critical mass.

And for the love of Pete, don’t blame low SOR ticks during NA or Oceanic on that zerg of 30 Russians who are asleep or at work.

Yep. Same dude, different servers. He(us) aren’t idiots. We know when it’s a DDOS. Especially when an attack wipes 70 Terabytes(that’s right, 70 TB. A DDOS attack on our TS wiped 70TB of DATA from the provider.) of DATA and forces the TS to close for over a week. That was a very costly and annoying, not to mention downright low act. It’s a game, that’s fine and people can have competition, but seriously when you’re attacking providers simply because they provide TS for us, it’s pathetic.

To those who try to claimed BG overstack, let me summarize what we get/lose recently:

BG lost Oceanic/SEA-[MERC] wvw average30, Oceanic/SEA-

all I know is that the numbers of BG I face have hugely increased. They are not the same numbers from 3weeks ago.

Of course there are more Bg than you. We use our pugs and don’t treat them like garbage and we don’t quit and make excuses when we fall behind 18k. We always knew SOR kept repeating “greatest server community” to convince yourselves, not us.

ZDs actually started logging in about Midnight ET, fielding 10 people to walk yaks in BGBL. It’s a big change because this was previously uncontested that a single thief could disrupt supply caravans headed to Garry.

That additional manpower creates a very effective havoc group for that hour, and I admit that they are more skilled and coordinated than any other permanent BG guild.

They’re a great addition to your team, don’t lose them at the end of the season.

ZD’s will be gone back to SFR by the end of the League when their native home settles down and they can fit back in, SFR did the very same thing as BG which resulted in ZD’s departure in the first place take a leaf out of SFR’s book put some control measures in place don’t try and stack time zones or you will find native established guilds will get fed up and jump ship.

you should worry about your own server. BG’s old core guilds in all time zones have been carrying us, not ZD. Black gate has the heart of a fighter

Now that I think about it, the reason JQ has been in T1 for so long (dropping down to T2 a few times) is because we seem to be more fun-loving than any other PPT hunting server out there. I can’t recall anyone on JQ getting frustrated when TKG left, in fact I think most of us wished them well. An attitude like that is probably why they felt they could come back and no one would hold any ill-will towards them. I have a feeling if the MERC members that transferred wanted to go back to BG you guys would troll them and treat them with intense hostility.

Then again, it might also be that two of the most outspoken members on BG are Monsoon and Kiff. Maybe you guys should send them a message in game, as their numerous angry and troll-like posts cast a very poor light on the rest of you.

I hope this is just a rumor/trolling attempt. MERC is literally the backbone of BG. For Tarkus and MERC to leave, it would be catastrophic. And JQ will become the new super server with unmatched Oceanic & SEA.

Perhaps, that would be the best resort for all three servers? As BG SEA can hardly match JQ/SOR SEA now in terms of number. Imagine BG SEA move to SOR, 1v1 in each particular timezone in a SOR/BG/JQ match would be a real blast. Just suggesting the scenario

Just keep in mind that you’ll be lucky to even have that matchup for once in every 2 months once the league begins.

Just…keep that in mind. If you are transferring servers and stacking timezones in anticipation of a particular matchup, just keep that in mind. Of course for those who are into PvD for a month straight, looking at a 650 tick and feeling good about it all bets are off.

If he did, it was probably because he couldn’t get his crew into bgbl while [ge] and the enthusiastic pugs were there trying oh so hard to take bay and wouldn’t move off so the man could do his work. I guess because ge thought they could do better or…they were just hard tunnel vision mode.

Whatever the case was, ge sure did us a service! It’s a lot easier to defend against them than Waha with his much more disciplined [ATM] military.

I was there, participating and witnessing the open field fights, BG got wiped countless times by Ge at that bay siege.

Well we never have to proclaim we are the king, typically the forums and your peers etc announce us as number 1 NA, never have the words number 1 NA come out of any TW. Thanks for the title though! As for losing to EP and RG, well what can I say, RG is a legend and was methodical about GvG’s, and EP is the new king of 15’s. I fail to see how that would affect us, good try though!
