You have to love people who make forum posts like this, and have no clue as to why people are having issues with the expansion. At least go and read the thread that has almost 3k posts and see some of the reasons why people are disappointed.
I totally agree with OP! But don’t worry, whiners are gonna leave soon or get better at game. So it just needs time. Also they are only a minority of palyerbase, less than 1%, so their opinion doesn’t matter that much. Thou they may think they are special.
This post is the reason I love this forum. Thanks for the good laugh. Haven’t had a giggle like that for a while. Lol
No, it’s not too late. I asked for a refund of my ultimate edition yesterday, and got a reply this morning saying that they had refunded the money and it’s currently processing to my bank account.
My refund request was accepted for my Heart of Thorns ultimate edition within 12 hours.
I was over the 30 day limit by 7 days, but they had no problem refunding me.
FO4. I am kicking myself because I bought HoT Ultimate……. One of my biggest regrets in my life…
Same here, lol.
FO4. No contest.
Wish they’d made a cool questline to get the item instead of locking it behind a ton of gold to get. A shame really. It could’ve been like how they did the halloween backpiece in the first Halloween of GW2. That was fun to make/get.
So, who else requested a refund for HoT?

Wish I could get back the £79.99 I dropped on the expansion. Would be nice to know if you’re able to get a refund since the expansion has been released.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]

Decided to take a break for a few weeks/months. They probably won’t change anything about the amount of HP it requires to get all of the skills for the elite specs, but that wouldn’t surprise me either way. Been playing since day one, so I wouldn’t mind taking a break to play another game. Hope they sort it out for you guys sticking around. o/

I don’t think they thought about it enough, honestly. Having a character with 100% world should be enough to unlock every skill in the elite spec. Only roughly unlocks half of it, though. Bit disappointed.
I wish I held off on buying it for a few months until I see all the content that’s available. Unfortunately, I jumped on the hype train and wasted quite a bit of money purchasing the expansion. Learned my lesson…
Yeah, looks like there’s no EXP given while in the laby for mastery. Meh….
Upcoming Global Change to Player Minions

This is pretty amazing news. I play PvP/WvW about 95% of the time. Looks like I might actually be setting out to do some PvE stuff when this hits.
Don’t understand why you’re changing it when it’s been the same for so long. Why the need for change now? Terrible decision if you ask me.
I have so many awesome memories of the first Halloween event in GW2. When Mad King Thorn came out of the fountain in Lion’s Arch! That will always be one of my best GW2 memories. So many people gathered for it, and then we all descended into his madness for the loot!
Can’t wait.
Guild Wars 2 has one of the worst PvE communities due to stuff like this. I’ve never bothered pugging a dungeon because of stuff like this. Best thing to do is to join a guild and run them with your guild. What makes it more hilarious is that people actually want you to have a certain amount of achievement points to join their group. It’s pretty sad that people determine your skill by the amount of AP you have.
Raids will probably be a lot worse to pug. Join a nice guild and enjoy the endgame with them.
I WANT to like Dragonhunter so bad. However, to have a decent build means to lose so much mobility, in terms of movement speed. Sure, we could use runes that give +25 movement speed, but I feel like the rune itself really isn’t good for the builds that I had in mind for Dragonhunter. What about changing a minor trait to give +25 movement speed?
Honestly, I like the virtue skills as they are now, and the weapon skills are fine. Traps themselves could use some tinkering, but I’m quite happy with them at the moment.
Agreed. The small things like this make Revenant even better! Not that Revenant wasn’t awesome already, though… xD
Can’t create a beta character yet. :<
Yeah… but that ego though! Lel.
Spec are you most excited for? (Strawpoll)

I voted for herald because I’m super hyped to switch my main to Revenant. However, I’m really glad Reaper is getting a lot of votes. Easily my second favourite elite spec. It’s got a great design behind it.
Meh, I’m disapponited but doubt they’ll change it. I’ll take skill over stats anyday. :p
Lol, full ascended needed for the last part of the raid? Might as well lock raids behind level 50 fractals and be done with it. Looks like I won’t be doing raids. Ascended is a waste of money and time unless you’re doing fractals. 5% stat increase means nothing to me when I mostly play WvW anyway, and that 5% increase can easily be beaten by skill with the class.
So disappointed.
Pretty epic. Rytlock OP.
1. Druid
2. Herald
3.Reaper
4. Chronomancer
5. Daredevil
6. Scrapper
7. Tempest
8. Berserker
9. Dragonhunter
Wyverns look incredible. So hyped to start playing my Ranger again.
I just have some exotic sets ready. I don’t bother with fractals, so don’t see the point in spending so much money on ascended stuff. If they were needed for raids, I’d get them. But since you don’t need the agony resist stuff for raids, I’ll just keep my money and spend it on other stuff while I’m playing my Revenant. I’m just glad that I finally have a good reason to use my Flameseeker shield. Considering I hate grinding/farming for materials, I worked really hard to get it. :P So I’m happy I can finally use it properly.
I do have a ton of ascended trinkets that I’ve found whilst playing, though. So I saved some money there. xD

The first Guild Wars is still amazing till this day. Always love going back there every few months and just doing random stuff. Memories. xD
"Don't Pre-Purchase HoT" ~ $100,000 Loss

PvE doesn’t interest me, so doubt I’ll be picking up the expansion. I mainly only play WvW these days. Haven’t seen anything in the expansion that interests me that much to put money on it.
I normally despise melee classes, but I enjoyed what I played of the Rev in the beta. Didn’t play it for long, but I had fun. Might’ve convinced me to play one on release.
After playing since release, finally decided to do world completion and grind for materials for a legendary. Crafted The Flameseeker Prophecies about 4 days ago. My least favourite legendary available, but it was the easiest and cheapest to craft. Won’t be using it myself, as I don’t think it feels very legendary to me. If it had footstep effects like most of the other legendaries, I’d probably use it. Decided to sell it and put the money towards a better looking legendary.
I’m just glad there’ll be another way to get precursors. Have been playing since release, and have never had a precursor drop. I don’t really want to drop a ridiculous amount of gold on one from the TP, either. This new way to acquire them appeals to me so much.
I just got it after a few days spent in SW. Got it from the Vinewrath event.
The trap combos you can do is pretty amazing. The condi damage makes me excited to try it.
Imagine the army of Dragonhunters in WvW now. The screen will be filled with even more skill effects LOL. I do like the animation on the traps, though. I’m more interested in Dragonhunter now than when it was first announced.
Guardian’s specialization was probably the one I was looking forward to the most, considering I’ve played mine since release and still continue to enjoy it. I’m actually quite disappointed with what’s been shown and written about the new spec. I feel longbow could’ve been a lot more than what has been shown today, but I feel like I’ll hardly touch the dragon hunter stuff since I honestly don’t find it interesting at all.
They should’ve left the traps where they belong. With rangers and thieves.
I can never seem to stick to one character for too long. I’ve deleted about 3 level 80s just so I can make and play another character. I find I like doing certain things on certain characters, and I’m always switching between sPvP, WvW and PvE. It’s nice to have different characters for a change of gameplay, though.
Hiya, thanks for the help. I’ve just updated my driver to the lastest one (it was only a few months old) so hopefully this will fix it.
I’m connected via an ethernet cable to the router. Only my internet (have other people using wireless on the same connection) will disconnect at random times when playing Guild Wars 2. Only happens with this game, and have been looking for a solution for a while, but haven’t been able to find any.
Any ideas what may be causing this to happen? I find it strange how it only happens with Guild Wars 2, and not any other online games that I play.
Thanks.
It’s nice. Don’t see much attraction to it myself, as I’m not a fan of outfits. I like to look different from everyone else in game. But to each their own, I guess. It’s a sweet outfit though. Just a shame I can’t wear the parts of it that I’d like.
Here’s my two favourite character outfit designs:
Mesmer
Head: Icelord’s Diadem (HoM reward)
Shoulders: Shoulder Scarf
Chest: Aristocrat’s Coat (Human T2)
Gloves: Exalted Gloves
Pants: Sorcerer’s Pants (Human T3)
Feet: Exalted Boots
Guardian:
Head: Horns of the Dragon Helm
Shoulders: Citadel of Flame Shoulders
Chest: Priory order Chest
Gloves: Citadel of Flame Gloves
Pants: Body of Koda (Honor of the Waves)
Boots: Illustrious Greaves
I’d love to get the Mistfire Wolf elite, but I think summon elites are pretty weak.
I agree. I wish it was just +20 levels instead of only letting you use it to reach level 20.
If minis were bigger and had better animations like in the original Guild Wars, I’d be all for random birthday minis like they had.
I miss my mini Kuunavang.
If it was just happening today, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the cause of the crashing/freezing. Been happening for a little over a week, though. I can manage maybe five minutes of gameplay and then it will crash. I load up the game again and get maybe two minutes worth of time before the next crash. Normally after the second crash, the entire game will freeze and I can’t alt+ctrl+del it, so I have to reboot my computer.
Hey all,
For the last week I have been having constant crashes and freezing with Guild Wars 2. All my other games run perfectly fine, except Guild Wars 2.
I’ve tried everything that I’ve found through the tech forums here that could maybe fix it. I had my computer returned to me today after getting it fixed by the people who built it, and I’m still having the same problem as I was before I sent it in to get repaired. (Had to get a new fan since the computer was overheating)
I get different errors most of the time. I’ve attached my error log below. Any help would be great, thanks!

Ah…The days of the necromancer in the original Guild Wars. Good memories. :p
I see hardly anyone using minis in Guild Wars 2. Maybe one or two people in the cities, and none outside. Original Guild Wars minis were great because they were a lot bigger, and you could actually sell your birthday mini in the original Guild Wars, if I remember correctly. Though, I don’t see much point since everyone gets the same birthday mini in Guild Wars 2. xD
I’m hoping for a 20 levels scroll that can be used at any level, and not just under level 20 that will only boost you to level 20.
