ROFL, I can’t imagine how terrible the performance on Mac OS X will be, compared to the PC version, which is an unoptimized mess.

I run GW2 on my two year old MBP bootcamped. I run it at high (not ultra) settings and get a smooth 50-60 fps. My wife runs it on my new retina display MBP bootcamped on ultra settings and gets 60+ fps. By the way, the retina display makes the game look AMAZING.

I am over 60fps maxed out on a 54" Plasma. No. The two year old MBP’s should still be running the 650m. Not a bad card, just not great for any game graphically intense. Which GW2 is not.
Retina is nice, if you are a photoeditor. If not, it’s pretty much a waste.
I don’t find it to be a waste. I find it to be gorgeous. And when I plug my MBP into my 60" LED-LCD tv it looks gorgeous there too. But the kids are usually playing the Xbox while I’m playing GW2 so I’m okay with playing on my 15" of retina display.
It’s not like I’m trying to compensate for anything…. haha
No, I don’t think you are. I just don’t see the point of playing on a super hi-res screen with sub-par equipment is all. At a ridiculous price point. Dunno, I have been trying to tell the GF the same thing. She just wants the Apple, not a fast computer.
What’s with the trend of people like Anet and Blizzard (diablo) taking away my dungeon loot runs? I miss old school MMO’s of running through dungeons hunting and camping loot. Meh.
I just want more fun dungeons.

Mystik, upgrade/OC your 650m. You won’t have a problem then.
We shouldn’t be encouraging Mac users to game. Their computers (their big computers) are sub-par. They run mobile processors. So I found it laughable when ANET said that requirements are not finalized. Their computers are pretty much all the same.
With that said, I guess it doesn’t matter too much if I buy the mbp for my GF, regardless of how much money I am throwing away for an OP aluminum kiddie computer :/.
I don’t know what war you are talking about. Soldiers are not issued bayonets on their M4/M16/M249/M204’s in Iraq, nor big fighting knives. Any knives they bring, they bring on their own accord. Unless they are issued a multi-tool for opening cans. Which is what my brother did with his big, expensive combat knife that was given to him by a worried friend.
Engineers at best should have a mutli-tool that hangs around their belt… but never used in combat.
If anything, they need a H2H option. Which is what soldiers are trained in as a back up to their pistol.
I play a Mesmer. I don’t lose to thieves & I don’t lose to other mesmers. Not in s or t pvp. Why? Thieves r lol. HS fails and they run to restock on their spam dots. They come back, you know it… just make them fail again. Profit on point defense.
Mesmers? If you can’t figure out which Mesmer is the real Mesmer in the fight, I pity you. Clones don’t move. Players do. I watched this Mesmer the other day, he could NOT figure out which one I was… I just railed on him forever. He looked so confused.
The funny thing is I used 1 clone & two Phantasms with lots of stealth. Was great.
If you quit a s/tPVP match you should be drug outside and shot.
If you are auto-switched. I say give the “switched” all the benefits of the winning team, plus what you earned on the losing team.

You know, I really didn’t read anything there that I haven’t thought about. I stopped doing sPVP as much as I used to once I realized people can leave without being penalized.
I lost a match the other day because (we were winning) the game got close and people panicked then left… They caught up and beat us by 5 pts. I too said f* it, left and logged out.
However, capping… I love it. I like to defend and take points. Sharks are stupid and so are fancy, flashy moves… I love practicality.
My main is also a Mesmer… have fun trying to F me (lol @ pun). I will make your life difficult, for as long as I can.

Dear Anet,
Your new trailer, does absolutely nothing to help me convince anyone that your game is worth playing. Specifically, trying to show my GF the cooler aspects of the game and why it might appeal to her. I am forced to go to user made videos that show more game play elements. I just gave up.
My suggestion, is on your next trailer, you highlight more game play aspects with less real people. It does nothing for her, nor anyone else (that I know) who doesn’t know GW2.
Give me something I can show someone who hasn’t played your game without them asking how what they just watched was relevant to the game.

What’s wrong with switching weapons mid-game if I have them in my bag? Are you saying I can’t be prepared to tackle any situation and everyone should blindly guess at what their opponents will be using??
I guess it could be worse, I could decide I don’t like my weapon setup and just leave. Then join another game. Which would be worse??? No teammates or weapon switching?
Lol, there goes my trick for killing mesmers in pvp. Besides the fact that the players usually run around in circles while clones stand still.
Keep using the sword in pvp… the number 2 is worthless 1v1.
As long as there is then an option for me to disable your titles thus ruining your effort anyway… sure.
