i can see it making up the majority if you’re getting 3 pips per tick, but i seriously doubt the claim that having over 400 from outnumbered is legitimate gameplay.
Below is my final from last week… i played 73.6 hours in WvW and never broke 300. If you’re getting over 400 for outnumbered, then you’re actively farming it.
Played just over 2 days this week and have 290/1634 from outnumbered so far, primarily scouting/roaming and defending on maps our blob is not on with no farming so i figure 400 is not that hard to achieve given i missed playing on friday/saturday
The crafting element is very annoying.
I’d prefer if they redistributed the tickets amongst the other chests and reward the Diamond chest with 1 grandmaster mark instead. Would also help those who don’t finish the lowers chest tracks generate tickets at a faster pace

Never get discouraged till you get the hang of things, its really easy to die but don’t worry about it.
Listening on Teamspeak/Discord will be your best tip, it will help you survive much better and you will know what the com is planning, where to move, when to heal etc (mics are optional, i rarely ever use mine but always listen) which it turn will get you moar loot
Always join the squad if they have space.
Join a community guild for your server, eventually even think about moving server if you’re not getting what you would like from your current one
As for classes, blob fights always welcome revs, guards, necros and eles. If you want to roam, pick almost anything, there’s decent roaming builds for most classes.
Mostly just have fun and don’t worry too much about kitten
meh, loot stacks up whether you’re inside or outside the zerg squad, cant say ive ever noticed much of a difference at all.
As for survivability, Thief/Ranger/Engi should be quite able to manage fine without being in squad, hell i’m average at ranger and manage to stay alive in blob fights pretty easily. Know the role, listen on TS and keep decent positioning and you shouldn’t die that much. If you are then you are doing it wrong
4 or 5 kicked from my coms party (including me) last night with no complaint from me. It was all thieves and rangers and with the squad at 50/50 the kicks immediately followed a chat message from a guard/necro/rev looking for a spot.
The com still drove whilst giving separate instructions for ranged and melee train and I don’t have any issue with it in the least
A mediocre guardian is wildly more valuable while almost always being the safer, more realistically available option than a top ranger or thief player.

:) This is me just now, purely for the fun and enjoyment of ranger. after x thousand hours of heavies i just got bored which is why i havent got an issue with not getting in squad – also common sense since i tend to peel off to scout/recap a helluva lot

You got to mithril in the part of a week that the patch was active so i don’t see any issue with being able to get there in a full weeks gameplay
Look at the party composition of this squad, notice anything about druids, thieves and warriors? – #notwanted – which is gross, anet should balance this, or make it so commanders cant kick

Since retiring my Guard/Rev’s i play ranger virtually 100% of the time and i’ve prolly been kicked once or twice at most however when the squad is filling up I will usually consider leaving if any guards, warriors, revs, necros and eles are needing a spot. Their input to the zerg is generally more important than mine.
I’d be kittened at getting kicked from a 20 man squad tho, but i know the odd commander who has a no ranger/thief mentality so I just switch border and find one who isn’t a total bellend

Don’t see much issue with a 2k rank for the uppermost tier of rewards. I mainly WvW (not eotm) but frequently spend most of my time scouting and have double that rank on my primary account. Got a 2nd which has about 600 hrs wvw only sitting around L550 so its not exactly difficult to bump through the ranks without zergbusting all the time.
Alternative facts, again. Face it, you dbl whiners would never be happy unless wvw was exactly changed to your liking, and screw the rest of the playerbase. Heck, this has been beaten like a dead horse during the original polls……
Again, as I said before…..don’t like dbl? Don’t play it. Don’t force the rest of the playerbase to conform to your limited ‘vision’.
If the rest of the playerbase like it then where are they? You only have to look at the kill/death stats over the 3 borders to gauge the activity and you can see that there is little action taking place on the DBL map
As a map it’s got some nice points and design ideas however the glaring negatives outweigh the positives and i’d remove it till they can at least rework it to be a good map.
-None of that stuff exists anymore. Instead, when you hold three shrines, you can essentially teleport from one shrine to another. At Airkeep, you transform into an eagle and fly to a new shrine. It’s exhilarating. I absolutely recommend trying it when you get the chance.
I’d quite like this changed a little bit and have the east and west Garrison shrines enable you to stop inside the keep aswell so that you could also move very quickly from Garrisons to Fire/Air keeps and northern towers/camps
A capture message would also be good, similar to the towers/camps, when you take all 3 shrines telling you that fast travel is now enabled would probably help the uptake of the use of the fire portal,flying eagles and jumpads since virtually no-one seems to know about some of them

I don’t get the mentality of “Anet needs to fix population.”
How is population anywhere remotely Anet’s fault? Players choose their server. Players choose to transfer servers. Players choose what time of day/night they primarily play. Players choose if they want to change their play schedule.
I applaud Anet for even trying to help with the population. The introduction of linked servers was great! Before that, BL’s were empty during primetime, except for duelers and on reset.
Anet need to fix it because they applied the band-aid of server linking which makes it super easy and cheap for people to bandwagon to a server and cause massive imbalances. Yes that’s the players fault but Anet are the ones who control the servers and they should at least be trying to alleviate this and bring more equal MU’s to what is a very enjoyable format.
Killing the linked servers and limit EU to 15 (cant comment on US) maybe even 12 would be a start, even lowering the map caps to 60, they have all the metrics but aren’t doing a helluva lot to fix it.
And if they are keeping DBL then streamline it a bit, improve the movement pads – maybe link them to the T-status of the 3 keeps instead of the shrines, or splitting the keep pad point so you can actually start/stop there instead of just overshooting
It is pretty pointless considering the small thing when it changes nothing (and could in fact exacerbate the balance disparity), unless the big thing, the actual problem is addressed, it is like changing a punctured tyre on a car with no engine and there is no prospect of the car getting an engine, pointless.
except this is Anet and fixing the small problems with band-aid solutions is what they do rather than addressing the main issues like population balance. Given the choice i’d rather be stuck with DBL and have population spread fixed without a doubt but without that being done I think 3 alpine is a much preferably situation
Kills made in total on Borderlands are roughly 40% : 40% : 20%, that alone shows its not populated anywhere near the Alpine map.
and yes Alpine is stale and old however it does have decent balance. The DBL whilst having some nice points and ideas does not have good balance and it is certainly not much faster to move around than Alpine. Certain parts are, if you hold shrines etc and make use of the jumppads or flying portals but then someone flips a camp or shrine and you’re screwed.
I ignored that because its a poor argument, i have frequently seen the Red team ignore homebl completely giving the advantage to the stronger servers. Either way doesn’t promote or help balance or good MU’s and players for the most part will continue to ignore this map
And just because I have argued that breaking more stuff is bad doesn’t mean I don’t know server linking and population spread are the no1 problems affecting decent MU’s but you go ahead and assume I don’t want that resolved first and foremost. I, like most, have the capacity to consider large and small issues at the same time

I get that some people like it, hell there are some parts of DBL i like as well, but pick any matchup and just look at the stats. The majority may have some time ago voted for DBL but the small minority is what is playing on it. It unbalances MU’s and the dislike of it or the poor design of it is not going to change anytime soon.
Should be gotten rid of without a doubt. The kill/deaths per map show a massive drop on red borderland so it’s pretty safe to say that the community for the most part is not going there in anywhere near the numbers of Alpine/EB
Map needs replaced simply for the fact that most people will not play on it. You only have to look at kills made on each border on each MU to see that red is vastly underplayed by the WvW population.
Yes, many people like it and there are some nice parts of it but on the whole it is not fun (personally speaking) to play and the majority of wvw players certainly seem to be in agreement
You could also look at the roaming shout build. With the trooper runes and traited you can apply swiftness,regen and clear condis from allies from each of your shouts which will probably be 3 or 4 skills.
Its quite forgiving and flexible so that you can change the odd trait/skill or weapon choice to your own preference. i tend not to run staff since i dont seem to be able to get the best from it

100% core ranger build , very dangerous while keeping survivability( if you dont have HOT).
The editor is not updated with the recent changes for ranger. with this build you have all the tools to survive while able to spike crzy damage with MM trait line, full zerk gear and might stacking capability. While with max might stacking(you and your pet) can combo bird F2 with rapid fire for almost 20k daamge spike.
The new shouts with trooper rune will give you all the survivability you need(remember you can swap pet while gaurd is active).HOT version no druid build –

I’ve using something very similar for a week or 2 and find it excellent, good survivability with plenty of heals, condi cleanse, stealth and evades. Plus its a great deal of fun
I tried these kinda versions to start with but prefer LB/ Sword+WH and have marauder/commander armour pieces to get a bit more toughness/health, higher crit chance and +80-100% boon duration but i do lose out on the crit damage from the zerker variant. Still toying with final armour choice tho
and now working again. love these features
Any reason the jump pads to get access to the mortars are disabled in the red keep in the DBL or is this a new feature?

I think top 6 servers need to be permanently unlinked to stop the constant 500 gem join a T1 bandwagoners. Double and triple up the bottom tiers instead and review it on a monthly/bimonthly schedule.
maybe start also lowering the map caps, maybe 60per map and try to force a more even spread a bit of players around the servers as a whole to try and even up the fights and populations.
Increase the PPK value to 3/4/5 per kill, get Kills/PPT score to 60/40% of the war scores.
Introduced segmented PPT scoring with maybe 75%/100%/125% multipliers for points earned in Night/Off-prime/Prime times (I say this as someone who works shifts and spends 1/3 time on nightcrew – nightcrew needs less scoring and influence on total warscore)
Lol i was in EB when you started this rant about the server cheating.
You had spent the day insulting people and spamming chat (your chat as you called it) then when you got ganked a load of your own server players sat around siege spamming your corpse and refusing to res you. At that point our refusal to kill the gankers started a mega rant about collusion and cheating.
Cheating is a waste of time, winning a MU is irrelevant and completely unimportant, having fun, good, constant fights is what counts.
Somewhat ironic you moaning about the players who just have to win after you bandwagon to a winning server
For these reasons, measurement of success in game cant be anything but achievement points.
Achievement point are no sign of success, hell i have 18K ish and would probably be a hindrance in any raid/dungeon/boss simply because i rarely, ever PvE and haven’t tried most of them.

Yeah Bay is bugged for getting the full 25 sups, not always but seems to happen intermittently. Saw a guild declaim and let it be reclaimed the other day and it worked fine after that
currently Stealth Glyph/Trapper, just playing around with various trapper builds to see which i like best
otherwise standard pewpew power lb is still so much fun
For quickness i usually do about 10-12 hero point in HoT which gets 100-120pts, most of the first 2 maps have very simple ones which can be done very quickly.
After that i’ll level the rest in WvW. Each WvW level gets you 5-9 pts per level(9 is max, min might be different) and its easy to power through levels quickly if you stack up on xp boosters
They certainly do. Many excellent improvements came with the update and hopefully this will mean a change of direction for Anet to actively supporting and promoting WvW.
For me the signs are really good and hopefully, amongst other things, they can bugger around with the layout of the DBL to solve its main glaring problem and make structures worthwhile. I do “enjoy” the map for open fights and choke points and it would be a shame if they couldn’t resolve its problems although it is so much better since the modifications that were done.

To be honest it depends on the server.
Most who duel I just ignore or even stop to watch but a couple of servers have players seem to hang around SM and kill dollies/contest SM and gank those who are running by whilst kidding on they are watching.
For those servers I join the choo-choo and stomp and ballista any lone duellers coz you know, kitten them
Queues didnt seem much last night (was late due to work and missed reset) but deso has been quiet for so long with low numbers. Hopefully some of the latent players will be back and see Deso populated more.

While the map pathways have been changed and it’s a much better flowing and quick map absolutely nothing will disguise the fact that it is fundamentally bad for wvw.
Before the changes there was no reason to hold any structure however now at least it’s worthwhile defending hills/Bay since a WP can now be obtained at T3.
There is no value in any tower at all, no use for them since they cannot be used as jump off points for attacks against keeps or garrison. They are pure flip/karma fodder and nothing more.
If they could bring the map closer together, make the towers strategic then I would certainly like them more. There are enough new elements and differing landscapes that it’s a shame they forgot the strategic element to map design which makes the whole thing worthwhile
And kitten the laser event for all eternity – do not bring it back
Wut? Alpine is the perfect map for karma train. A map you can flip in 12-15 min without any issue.
K-train as in no defending, solid rotation pvd capping of structures as per EotM.
The Alpine border is only great when you compare it to the desert one. Its decent but has its own problems however i’d prefer to play it every single time.
The DBL is a karma map, nothing more, made purely for PPT’ers to cap/recap/recap ad infinitum. No structure is strategic and nothing other than keep is generally worth defending. They are all independent towers and have no relation to each other unlike ABL where at least towers and keeps were worth something.
The DBL WP system is just kittening shocking and whoever came up with it needs a boot in the nads.
It’s also too gimicky a map however at least they acknowledged how bad the laser event was and disabled it, pity they still insist we all want oodles of pve in our wvw. The shifting rock barricades and stealth channels serve no purpose and just irritate and interupt fights.
Doesn’t need removed but it certainly needs fixed so that the 3 differing teams are balanced in numbers so that MU’s are alot more even.
There is no point in having green outnumber blue who outnumber red in every single MU with few fights and 95% of the action being boring as kitten ktrains

1) Stab change – get this pirate meta to kitten and give us back some decent melee
2) Get rid of the pitiful strategically inept BL map – either bring back Alpine or change desert so that towers/keeps have some strategic value, there has to be a reason to hold/defend structures (see alpine for guides to this). There are some decent ideas on the new map – i like the sentry effect, shrines and some of the tower bonuses are good – tactivators etc – but many need toned down drastically – airships/stealth. You also make keeps so bloody huge that you also need to add a sentry effect to a newly taken keep so that hiding enemies can be tracked, spending so much time in a mes hunt is kittened.
3) PPT needs to die as the only MU deciding factor, the PPK change is a good start but i think PPT need to at least be reduced to be 50% of score. Change a kill to be worth 5 pts, maybe change the tic to every 20 mins to make fighting much more important a factor to deciding a game. And kill some kitten EU servers, bottom 6 or 9 and redistribute the players with a free switch
4) Better rewards would be nice or ways to spend excess wxp level points on something
5) Fix siege, line of sight, overall damage could be reduced and preferably get rid of crappy splash damage where you can place a cata on one side on a hill and the damage goes right through to walls on the other side. Buying superior siege with excess hero point was a good introduction
and lastly stop with the kittenkittenitten PvE in WvW. Yes a high % of players play all game modes but that doesn’t mean we want PvE mixed with out WvW. STOP puting crap PvE events in WvW.

Yes. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. It is 100% impossible to satisfy everyone, unfortunately, without destroying fairness and balance, which currently does not exist anyways. You would not be losing anything you’ve already contributed, since it was already nulled.
Ridiculous idea. The events of that 3 hour prime slot depend hugely on what happens prior during the rest of the day.
There are plenty of other option to explore with increased ppk ratio, variable ppt slots, weighed scoring and so on without resorting to a frankly idiotic suggestion that only 1 small time slot should matter towards determining the winner of a MU.
So the fact I work shifts and sometimes play early morning, sometimes prime and sometimes night means most of my work or efforts should be made worthless?

PPK needs to be much bigger part of the weekly score, up it to 2 then 3 pts per kill
and by fighting you mean leaping in suicidally with 3800 armour and 30k HP whilst getting carried by a solid organised zerg?
