I’ve recently picked up the game again in the past few weeks after taking a ~6 month hiatus or so. I used to raid weekly back when Wings 1/2 were out, and have cleared them both multiple times. My raiding guild at the time is no longer active, and the LFG environment is extremely hostile to recruits unless you have a whole arms-length of prerequisites to even join a group.
I’m looking to find a semi-hardcore (or even more casual) raiding guild to do clears with. I’m free all day Friday-Sunday, and during weekday afternoons. My preference would be a guild that does raiding over weekend hours, but I am flexible.
Can play a variety of classes, including DPS/Hammer/Tank Guardian, Condi Warrior, Condi Engi, Power Ele, Dps/Support Condi Druid. For the majority of these I have full Ascended gear, and for all I have at minimum Ascended trinkets/accessories.
Feel free to ping/add me in-game, at my above contact ID.
Cheers,
Zanthor
Been a bit since I’ve been into Spvp, but all the signs and matches I’ve been feeling out have been making it seem like we are massively outclassed and bottom of the rung.
I should note, I’m still making use of Meditrapper and it may well be that’s not the best build to be using nowadays.

They are so stupidly powerful in 1v1 situations it’s insane. I legitimately don’t think (on my DH) I am capable of effectively engaging them because they play just like us except with far more mobility, sustained dps and healing/invuns. To specify, I’m still using the Meditrapper build we’ve had for awhile now, but I concede it may-well be that Druids just inherently counter our class/this build.
I just find it aggravating to see a druid pop up over the horizon to come harass you at home point (or wherever) and you roll your eyes and sigh because the best outcome you can hope for is to buy time until help arrives. That is in no way an entertaining scenario to play out.
What gives?

…no distinction is made whatsoever to obtain balance (in terms of group sizes) between the two teams, correct? It will opt to pit a team comprised of 4/5 players queued together against complete randoms if that’s the fastest pairing the queue can find to commence a match?
I genuinely ask this because I want to farm out some of the map-based meta achievements more casually in Unranked, and I feel that the quality of the matches I’ve been getting have been so completely skewed and lopsided one way or another, that I don’t know if it’s legitimately worth trying my best to play these out when it seems the matchmaking makes no attempts to prioritize skill/hidden MMR (assuming it is still a thing for Unranked) between the players in the lobby.
If that is the case, I’d rather just take my chances and do things in Ranked, because without any effective incentive to play well in order to get within a bracket of players that give good-quality matches, I might as well do Ranked where matchmaking balance is implicit within the ground rules of that mode. If true, that would also make Unranked a largely worthless mode outside of testing goofy/experimental builds (which can done in Ranked play so that point isn’t strong).

Posted this on Reddit but wanted to check here to see if I can get clarification:
Being that there’s like, 7 different titles for the various ranks between 1-250 on the leaderboard, is Anet intending to retain these same titles in each of their respective rankings for the next few seasons, in order to give people a chance at getting more prestigious titles?
Otherwise they’d be going through 7 different titles every single season, which seems a bit much. I’d love to hear back from someone at Anet on their intentions.
Cheers!
Holy Christ Sephiroth, that’s a SIX HUNDRED MMR discrepancy for those two players alone, let alone what the other 3 members of their team were. That is such a spectacular failing of the matchmaking this game can provide.
Who the hell is Denshee?
Absolutely concur it has to go. People are smurfing with supremely-high rated players who are using other accounts to massively boost up their buds. Had TWO games in a row during placements where this occurred, with them openly admitting it.
I just want to confirm; is the 40-played minimum games what’s required by end of season to receive ANY ranking at all on the leaderboard? I.E. if I manage to break top 250 (let’s just say) for a title, will I be invalidated if I don’t have 40 games played?
Thanks for any clarification on this!
….still have it count as a lose on your placement, even though you’d otherwise not be afforded such? Why is it I still get handed a loss on my placement record in a 4v5 from the start?
That’s obnoxious.
Every time I enter the inner sanctum where the pillar of light and tablets is rotating around the circular room, the UI elements have a spastic, flickering fit, sometimes coinciding with the shadows in the room also flickering and deforming, going low resolution, etc etc. It happens to a lesser degree inside the instanced version of the Priory as well. Shadows are on ‘High’, almost all other graphical settings are at max values.
Has anyone else been experiencing this??

I’ve seen differing answers on this from people. The match quality I’m used to getting in Unranked seems to suggest the game makes little/no effort to pair based on anything other than getting the quickest queue possible. Can someone confirm this? I’m a consistent Legend ranked player (not that that implicitly means anything), but it feels like I’m playing with a bunch of Ambers/Emeralds when I compare match quality to what I’m used to in Ranked.
Thanks!
THEY DID IT AGAIN! They now even hide the ability to, postgame, check and see who was paired with one another (after being able to tell beforehand, except that also got changed). The ‘details’ option at the end-of-match window is gone, which was what you needed to click in order to see that info.
Holy sweet toledos Batman.

Are the achievements still possible to obtain currently?
Since Druids appear to hard-counter DHs in most scenarios, want to ask for some pointers on dealing with them, particularly 1v1. I’m surprised people complain about DH’s being overpowered when the blatant outlier of ‘most bs class to handle’ has, by far and away, been Ranger/Druid.
I’ve heard one of the only real ways of doing so is the Symbolic build, which let’s you negate all the LOSing/running in circles they do through aoe damage symbols. Any other advice?
How are we supposed to handle them in a 1v1 situation? Is Symbolic build the only one capable of duelling with them?
Attempting to rank up through this mode because I’m getting bad experiences in normal play, and I swear it takes like 20 minutes a match to queue .
The less we know the less we have to complain about?
Or at least our complaints will be easier to dismiss since we lack hard facts.
It certainly seems like they are trying to hide our access to information and stats in order to be less informed our complaints/criticisms.

Has anyone noticed with every PvP patch/update, they have been hiding more and more information about your team, enemy team, etc etc. by obfuscating/removing it from the UI screens?
Having an impossible time dealing with them as like, 4 different classes.
They can sustain as well as a ele, yet put out considerably more damage and have decent cc break/snaring to boot, to the point where, aside from the ‘just cc them hard’ you can’t realistically be expected to engage one without aid.
Does anyone know what the title is for achieving Legendary this season? I haven’t seen hide nor hair of anyone sporting a new title as of yet.
Massive performance hitching/stuttering

I’ve been having this issue as well. Everything was working fine until yesterday’s patch, now the game chokes and lags seriously. And it’s not just in heavily populated maps.
I know it’s not my computer, or my graphics settings.
Likewise, it’s absolutely the game at fault for what’s going on. I want to know if they are aware of the issues and are going to be fixing them.

Ever since the patch, I’ve had massive lockups of my computer and hitches with the game’s performance, in which it’s throttling the entirety of my PC and sporadically freezing the game for a few seconds before freeing up and running normally again. It’s acting as if the game is suffering a massive memory leak IMMEDIATELY upon being launched.
What the hell is this?
i think the next daily reset is the end time.
around around 17.5 hours remaining ?
Are you sure? I could have sworn it ended a few hours before the actual daily reset last season, unless they said it changed?
Can anyone confirm for me if the pvp season end time is around the same as it was last season, i.e. about 12PM GMT on the day of? Just want to know if it’s worth grinding out the last few ranks during the late night.
Thanks!
Yep, seems getting the premades are back in full swing…
Going into this ranked season, my standing ranked W/L ratio was ~62%, and after playing 13 matches (2-11, lots of bad games being given to me), I’m starting to question the MMR and how it’s functioning. Is the game literally making use of my W/L ratio to pit me unfavorably against players to help skew it down to this ‘intended’ 50% ratio they want?
Honest question…
SERIOUSLY every season is like this. They’ll pump unreasonable amounts of money into pro league tournaments for a few dozen people and just completely blow off actually improving the game. Honestly what kittenty MBA inspired this approach? How long has it been while your matchmaking system is still a joke made of wet garbage?
There is an insane room for improvement in the current matchmaking system. HOW IS IT STILL SO BAD AFTER ALL THIS TIME????
NO ONE IS GOING TO BUY AN EXPANSION FOR A GAME THEY STOPPED PLAYING!!!!!
Cus they aren’t good at their jobs.
I don’t think that’s the case. I think you simply run into stronger opposition as you rank up. If you’re top dog in Emerald you’ll be at Sapphire’s low end for example especially if you consider that Legendaries and Diamonds were seeded there.
1. I started in sapphire
2. i watch teams getting spawn camped consistentlyDid you even read what i wrote? I either have stupidly easy matches where we just farm enemy team or i am in match where 3-4 people on my team get farmed 24/7 (i admit as thief it is easy to avoid that fate). I even afk’d on point for whole match as an experiment. We still won. Enemy never managed to get out of spawn.
I can confirm this. In my first 10 played matches (2-7 sadly), not a single match was within 200 points, either way. It was either a stomp for us, or a stomp for them. Not a single close or middling match to be had. The hell is up?
So far the season start has been 1-6 for me, with 4 of the loses coming from a quitter partway through the match. I’m struggling to see, even in the early stages, how this matchmaking is functioning correctly? Playing at Sapphire, previous season Legend. Am I going to have to tank my MMR (unintentionally mind you) like people had done in Season 1 to counter-act the system?
Should also note that, the level of play I’m seeing from my teammates and some enemies is nowhere near the level or indicative that they are Legend-tier skillwise (where we all got put in Sapphire), at all.

Conditions have always been spammable to the point where they cannot be removed effectively.
I can’t think of any time where conditions where not overpowered
Warriors are pretty ridiculous though.
Oh goodness yes. I was playing a few test matches on my Warrior, trying this new condi/hybrid sustain build, and the output and survivability was nuts. I don’t think there was a single class I would lose out too if I played well enough. This meta is going to be dominated by shatter Mesmers, Thiefs, and condi Wars come a couple weeks. Warrior is EASILY the new Necro this season…
It’s like, completely broken and, short of having an Ele to help you deal with it, is NOT consistently cleansable. I sincerely do not understand how Anet expects most power-based specs to deal with it?
What the hell happened?
Trying to wrap up a couple achievements for the event, just wondering if it’s still ongoing and possible to complete. Thanks!
Massive latency spikes, specifically with GW2
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: DeferentUrchin.7064
Anyone in NA been experiencing this over the last few days/hours? Massive, unexplainable latency-spikes that are specifically and solely tied into this game, and nothing else.
What’s also kinda cool is they added the armour set onto various Charr mobs around Blazeridge Steppes, to make it properly fit alongside their lore.
Can anyone explain to me how this works/what it does/if there are thresholds you pass to unlock access to certain drops/etc.? The only explanations I can google and find are from years-old posts that either seem to be outdated or unclear in explaining it.
I.E. Do I have higher chances as Ascended stuff, exotics, etc., if I complete fractals with a higher personal reward level? Does it also work with the level of the fractal you are doing, and in what ways?
woops double posted by accident, use other.
Just to re-iterate for the sake of understanding; the Matchmaking system is wholly and completely useless, and the Evan Lesh dev admitted as much?
OP here, I feel like the biggest issue in terms of class imbalance is our relative lack of utility and ‘feel’ as a class. Tons of the other competitive classes have near-instant or instant cast abilities, which are often not easily noticed or telegraphed. EVERY single ability that comes out of us is massively telegraphed and incredibly obvious to an experienced player to combat and avoid. We NEED to have our speeds and animations tightened up/changed to let us properly outplay the top-tier classes through skill. It’s far too easy to gauge and easily outmaneuver a Guardian nowadays, because our animations and tells are so blatant.

Why are they so unfathomably strong when it comes to escorting adds? It’s a play style of the worst, most unfun kind to have to deal with these guys every match .
Am I the only one who, when using this weapon combo (most competitive builds include it, hence my use), feels it to be incredibly unwieldy and sluggish to use in pvp play? Everything has this awful wind-up/aftercast timing and delay that really makes it off-putting to use, and hard to aim/do any damage with it.
I noticed it, but I think that was a great choice.
Way too many players either gave up or started to flame once they thought they were playing against a premade before the match even started. Most of the time, they were facing 2+2+1 (or 3+2) which was exactly the same as on their side -.-
That’s a fair enough point. I still think, irrespective of that, the decision was done to curtail player backlash, especially from volatile (and sometimes rightfully upset) players, more than anything else.
Anyone notice how, with the release of this PvP season, they removed the ability to examine people on the scoreboard pre-game and asess (have to typo this intentionally to not be filtered) whether or not you were facing a premade/partial team (‘Join Party’ denotes this fact), a relatively useful thing to know for both the purposes of understanding how they’ll coordinate/how the system is unfair if you are all pugs versing their premade, etc etc?
It really irks me to see this. This happened only recently after previously being accessible, and I can see little to no reason to this other than to hide it from players, especially after the simmering backlash they received in Season 1 over the problems with the queuing system, and with pugs vs premades. More information is almost always a good thing, so why would it be taken away? By contrast, the earlier-occuring removal of seeing people’s character level in pvp WAS a good change, because of the harassment they’d incur; not the case here.

I have never understood how they calculate line of sight in this game and it has frustrated me to the point of abandoning more than one game mode and activity. So many instances in WvW, PvP, and activities where I can clearly see over half of my targets body and the projectile is hitting absolutely nothing between me and it, and yet I get obstructed over and over again while the enemy circles around a pillar like a troll.
I’m gonna go with the same goon who was responsible for JP’s was tasked with projectile programming. The resemblance in the failure of it all seems uncanny.
The best part is the auto-balance is a farce and gives you absokittenglutly nothing.
