Exactly! It’s always funny seeing T1 people complaining about queues.
Take your guild and go to a lower tier server. At the end of the day, you have to decide if buying guilds was worth it. If it was, stay and enjoy the queues. If you want to play, move servers.
I moved once already because of this problem. To be honest, it’s not something I would do again.
P.S. I have not paid for any guild.
I have played WvW from day one, I would not pay for priority Que’ing. You have the option to transfer if your unhappy with your serves situation. Help fix the population imbalance issues, there is more serves without Ques then there is with Ques.

I started on JQ could not play with my guild and we transferred to SOR when it was ranked 7th almost a year ago. In fact, I was one of the first of several people/guilds to scout SOR.
Its not really that hard to understand. It has nothing to due with cost, its more the fact that there are way to many self righteous people who think they should come before anyone else, reality check … you shouldn’t. Feel this way if you like but your just another guy that paid for a game to play like the other however many people that play this game, the world will not change if they get into WvW before you. I know its a hard pill to swallow but, your no more of a delicate snowflake then anyone else regardless of what your family may have told you.
So I suggest I would pay for a service, and you translate that into I’m self righteous and think I am better than anyone else?

This is not a solution it just burns a hole in my pocket. See my response above to the other comment about transferring.

Funny, I capped several mercenary camps this weekend, got credit for none. We call this WAD.
There’s no condition duration food in spvp and the trait lines with cond dur% are often bound to opposite stats (e.g. thief (venom), it’s in the power line), so the change was done in regards to widen build variety rather than giving a kitten what it does in wvw.
Thanks Empyre, that makes some sense. Sounds like this change needs to be reverted in PVE/WvW then (skill separation).
Let’s not forget the immobilize bug where you are skill-locked entirely, especially when leaping.
Funny you say this, I thought I was glitched in terrain the first 3 or 4 times, where you have to /dance to get your character free. I was dancing to get free and still nothing was happening. Then I raged in TS and guildie mentioned the change.
Can someone comment on why this change was made?

My opinion this change should be revisited; the ability to lock down players with this ability now is proving to be to much. Maybe reduce it to 3 times?

A couple of assumptions you make Covenant I would like to comment on.
- People WvW for rewards only. I like to PvP and PvP with my friends, I could care less about the rewards. People of this nature tend to stick together.
- Population is the singular reason a server is succeeding or failing. No numbers have ever been published, you might be surprised what the actual data is.Interesting ideas though, I am sure there are a lot of gamers that game for that carrot, Im willing to be most of them PvE.
Your arguments are flawed. While reward is not the only reason people play wvw it is a very important one. You can chose to play with friends and don’t care about rewards but it is much more likely that you chose to play with friends AND get better rewards.
And what rewards are you implying? I do not have a legendary, I do not have a character with full ascended, and I use a back piece from PVE. I can assure you the only reason I am playing the game is to pvp and play with friends. Do I enjoy a nice looking weapon skin, sure but that’s not coming from player drops so I buy them when I can. I am merely suggesting that giving people higher rewards (maybe more mf, or gold find) may not entice the amount of people the OP talks about. In other words the cause for people playing on a server go beyond what a small reward might offer.
As far as numbers go, I agree numbers count. I didn’t mean to suggest otherwise. But I am saying its not a solitary truth. However with out the numbers from arena net we will just go in circles.

Understood I have had my share of kitten I’m dead moments.
Look at it this way the fights are the reward.
Rework applied fortitude/guard leech so they don’t give stats. Rework the bloodlust buff so it does something worthwile to fight for, but NOT advantage in a “pvp” encounter. THEN this is true.
I do not have fort/guard on my necro, and no legendary or ascended weapons and I do not go into a fight thinking I am at a disadvantage. You delude yourself into believing that w/o all those things the fight is still equal. Guess what its not. Food buffs, weapon stacks, even armor and weapons.
Stop trying to blame a loss on things you can’t control and learn to counter it. You’ll be better for it. And enjoy the game more.

I don’t like Lich Form in PvP. It’s way too easy to avoid because the projectile’s homing is awful, and it’s not really necessary with Deathly Perception. Also, Plague stomp.
Horsing around with this build last night in T2 WvW, basically with the gear I had, Full Knights (Scholar Runes) and Ascended Cavalier Jewelry and the the result was surprising. I had several encounters where I instagibbed clothies and came out of a few outnumbered fights. Most people didn’t know what to do against a necro with daggers.
I didnt record but I also got a Spinal Shivers crit for 6k. The only downside I had was absolutely no get out of jail free cards, and this is bad in melee. But so is the life of a necro. I would like to see this playstyle mature a bit.
Your screen shot is anecdotal evidence at best. No one is stupid enough to believe this is the “ONLY” scenario in the new map points.
The rest of your post was good though. Running around in small man is A LOT of fun even if you lose a few. And can agree the rewards don’t even come close to running around in zerg, I only have 150 dragonite ore cause of it. Look at it this way the fights are the reward.

Imagine you taking down 1 gate/wall of a a keep/tower. Imagine 50 people inside which ain’t that abnormal. Imagine they all chaining their aoe into the gap. Good luck walking through and surviving

Aoe cap is there not only for the servers, but also because some things will be just impossible to cap and some classes will be rediculously OP. Like Ele and ranger, no. If aoe is unlimited, make healing unlimited aswel and all the other spells. But OOPS, we are back to 0 than…
So yea aoe cap is there for a really really good reason.
There is a dev post flat out saying, in plain english, its there for the simple reason of server performance.
First of all ACs were only buffed because aoes got nerfed. if they were reverted back people would actually have to use skills with cooldowns to cover entrances and an enemy team can just as easily counter it with a protection buff for their entire team or a massive water blast after charging through the AOE fields. sure amps up the tactical play of both small and large groups when its not based off of chance of hitting people rather than hitting EVERYTHING. Plus think of the lag that AOEs cause by calculating if 5 people are inside or not constantly.
Try to walk under fire of 10+ superior AC, and after that come back and tell me how protection and water blasts help you. Without cap wvw will become World of Ranged DPS vs World of Ranged DPS.
The counter to ranged dps is retaliation. And yes it will kill you even faster with no aoe limit.
Warhammer had a stacked aoe issue early on and was fixed.

Gratz on having a good week against us, but as my good friend Letoll said, this is a long battle and I’m yet to find a guild that can challenge us after the excitement of T1 wears off, your guild is no different then those before you, and your outcome will end the same.

It’s funny when BG can’t claim WvW superiority when they can’t beat up the ‘other’ server. I suppose the SoR or JQ can’t win with out each other excuses will commence.
Hello, are you talking about the developer live stream? If so notice that they said there will be a stream on Friday that will be about WvW, so that’s why they didn’t said anything about it today. If i misunderstood the context just flame me and forget what i said
I was not referring specifically about the live stream, and that is great to hear some more WvW focused topics are going to be discussed. A step in the right direction I think we can all agree the WvW community needs.
If you look at the responses in the sPvP forum, half are “we are working on it’ or ’can’t tell you when but it’s coming”, a few are “thank you!” and other are in regards to Skyhammer and tPvP map rotations.
This is a fair assessment I noticed this as well. But perception goes a long way.
As someone who is starting to slide over to sPvP, one thing I have noticed immediately is how much more attention sPvP clearly gets over WvW. Both PvE and sPvP get so much more attention than WvW. I don’t know why.
This is exactly my feeling, AoE loot was an awesome change for the “lifestyle” of a WvW player and quite frankly besides that and Culling I cannot think of anything else they have done to significantly impact my experience in WvW. And that they removed orbs which was a “questionable” change but I can compromise on why it was done.
Granted both those changes may have been complex, I understand Computer Science but 11 months ( I think its been that long) is a long development lifecycle for only 2 changes I can talk about.
I am really looking for an answer if the direction of the game is sPvP (seems to be the case) then fine lets be clear about that. (I think it may already be).
Some good feedback, lets continue to discuss.
Let me qualify this with I think WvW is the best available right now and for the foreseeable future. It saddens me to see the lack of “attention” based on community feedback perspective. Any decent company has 6mos, 12mos, 18mos business strategy why is not communicated?
I have also grouped with some Anet guys once in Southsun and once in WvW so I know they play the game. What gives?

This one is me against at gc thief and im in full PTV Armor/Accessories and Valk Scepter/Dagger
Thats with 1800Tou/2700 Armor with Earth #2. Its a fun build for small man WvW.
This isn’t me just something I came across awhile back.
In all honesty the Fire combo with a similar build does more damage, assuming you can land it, the Air combo is just easier.
1. Remove all armor and weapons.
2. Arrow cart mastery, go go go
3. Build an arrow cart
4. Kill the whole zerg.
