Just wanted to let you know that the new BL staff skin is amazing for a daredevil! Too bad I recently started playing d/p instead of staff

What EB queue ? There haven’t been EB queues for about 2 month or so now, even on resets at prime time in upper tiers.
Don’t know which server you play on then.
I play on gandara (tier 3?) and there is a queue on ebg almost every day at prime time. After reset their is usually a queue of about 60. This all due to the fact that literally nobody wants to play in the borderlands
Play the standard crap, learn the mechanics, and then you won’t need to come to the forums to ask people about your build because you yourself will already know what will and will not work.
Thank you very much for the advice.
I guess you’re right, I’ll start out with the meta and change my build on the way. I just like to try new and different builds and spend a lot of my time on build editors :p.
Thanks for the reply.
I have been trying some stuff on a build editor and came up with this:
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJBIhdSfJ0fJ2gJYhJwhJW2AMiVQKoC4uX/rH2hHQAoAC-TFiXABIo8zuHAwOqF8hegQPBA1oE8IVdAY/BA-w
I might throw in some zealots, but I’d rather not since it is a bit harder to get xD. What do you guys think of this build? Any recommended changes?
Or should I just get this whole main healer idea out of my head and use this build as a secondary healer: http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Tempest_-_Auramancer_Raid_Healer ?
no
In raids, the healer needs to have lower toughness than the tank
and the tank needs to do damageYou can have some cleric’s, but not full. It has too much toughness. Clerics + zealot’s would be viable, yes.
And you’d use a warhorn for your offhand, as focus doesn’t offer any heals.
At least for the first boss. I haven’t actually killed the other ones yet. dunno if swirling winds offers a large advantage somewhere
Alright thanks. What is the maximum amount of thoughness I should have then?
So I am leveling a elementalist at the moment. I used to roam a lot in wvw, but I guess I’ll do that mainly on other classes. I want to do some more pve, especially raids.
I don’t want to have another plain dps character, I am looking for something different. Would a full cleric (or a bit mixed with soldiers for example) be a viable build in raids? What weapons should I use then, d/f or d/w? I have played the cleric meta (d/f) in pvp and I absolutely love it!
Also, could I use this (if I mix it with a bit of berserker maybe) in wvw from time to time? Or should I really go for either berserker as backline or full celestial?
Like I said, I have played gw2 for a long time but I am pretty noob as elementalist. So I appreciate any advice I can get! (The reason I don’t get full cele in wvw right now is because I didn’t make the charged quartz crystals…)
Use a level 30 scroll
Use birthday booster + exp booster and go zerg in eotm
Do your daily that gives a tome every day, maybe some pvp for tomes as well
Repeat untill lvl ~70
Cooking till 400 (3 gold)
Do a few COF runs till 80
i’ve been having fun time playing a troll p/p build to an extent of sheep d/p thieves raging at me for using p/p and people asking what build i have so i suppose it still works good enough
while daredevil doesnt offer much to p/p build indeed still you greatly extend your otherwise very limited lifespan using unhindered combatant and impactful disruption adds a great deal of reward to your headshot interrupts
I’d like to hear some more about this build. Could you post a link to it here? Always fun to try out new builds, especially p/p
there you go http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vZAQNAqaVl0MhSnY5TwwJw/ELwEmWCIAkBm/gnwW4Wga5MoA-TZQaAAQZAA
nothing special just full damage plus some stuff to keep the distance from enemies and particularly other thieves
Thanks, gonna see if it works for me
Pls give us the old maps back.
Current maps are too big and nobody plays on them. Because of that there is a queue on EB every evening.

Didn’t look at it very well cause i’m on my phone, but I think I wouldn’t use it.
In raids you want max dps as a thief, you are not gonna achieve that this way. Also don’t think these trickery traits are a really good option since steal isnt that useful againts high HP targets
I’m really enjoying daredevil with a staff.
Concept: Loads of mobility and dodges > move in, kill and move out again. Increased survivability by dodging, still have a high damage output.
Game mode: WvW and PvP
Weapons: Staff and Shortbow
Mixed gear (sort of marauder)
When playing in PvP I use the marauder amulet. In WvW I sometimes swap out Impact strike for Basilisk venom. Don’t do this in PvP though since Impact strike is a must there.
In PvP I always use Bounding Doger instead of Unhindered Combatants. The only reason I use Unhindered Combatants in WvW is because I like the mobility to run from camp to camp.
When I feel like I run into too many condi players I swap out Staff Master for Escapist’s Absolution, but this is mainly cause I get too frustrated by the condition builds xD

I totally agree, this would make both GM traits much more viable. I think just removing the damage while in stealth would be the best option. If the damage doesnt remove stealth there will be perma stealth builds which can down a person without getting revealed, that would be OP.
Please consider this Devs!
I never played on my thief really much, every now and then i roamed in wvw. My experience with daredevil is simply amazing! I really enjoy playing on it again.
I agree that it gets a bit harder when there are multiple mobs attacking, but I think that is pretty normal. I dont really have any difficulties though. Daredevil had a kitten ton of evade, even with many mobs I think it’s enough.
I use staff, soms evade traits and withdraw btw
I run almost the same as the first build you posted. I am thinking of swapping domination out for inspiration though for soms survivability. I dont recommend getting different gear, it’s better to just change your specializations. Also, you might want to check out rune of the chronomancer instead of rune of the mesmer
I’m from EU and never played on NA but I really like it here. I play on gandara, it has a very nice community and is pretty active. Prime time is from 7pm CEST till midnight. You will get many nice fights, everybody speaks english of course. Maybe some commanders (for example from scandinavia) not as well as the British but good enough.
During the day there aren’t many people but it is still fun. You’ll have to convert the time to see if it fits your schedule.
We also get many different matchups which is pretty nice.
They removed that. You no longer get attributes from traits. The stats on equipment have been increased
Even got up to 47 seconds :o
Mesmer simply can’t be tanky. If you want survivability, you need to get it from blinds, blink, stealth and confusion (as in using clones so people don’t know which character is the real you)
kitten . Some one has released the build before me…. but that is really close to the build I made a while back and that I intend to play when the patch goes live. I just traited for manipulations and picked up arcane thief/decoy/blink with mirror for crazy amounts of reflects. But the version I’m planning on running would be a class cannon hybrid, so I picked up protection on chaos armor, not the condition damage bonus, because protection with a high up makes out to be a really strong defense.
some comparisons / suggestions for you
Thanks for your reply. Maybe I’ll take the protection on chaos armor. Now I think about it, it is pretty good. The reason that I didn’t take mirror on manipulation skills is that it would screw up mass invisibility. The mirror activates after you get stealthed. So if for example a ranger is still attacking you while invisible (with rapid fire), you would reflect his arrows but this will cancel your stealth.
Mesmer has been my main since I started playing gw2 at launch. I used to run shatter and phantasm builds but I got a bit bored of them because I played them too much. Then I became interested in condition builds and have been playing them for some time now.
I am waiting for the update to be released and started playing around with the build calculators. I have made a condition WvW build with my existing gear and would really like some feedback. I usually don’t make builds. I just use existing builds and adjust them to my preferences. So please don’t be too harsh :p
Again, I am looking for feedback. Constructive criticism is much appreciated!
The idea is good, but I don’t think it will happen.
ArenaNet actually said that they want people to schatter more. The new specializations will make this happen. I don’t think there will be many builds without schatter left after HoT.
I agree. But I keep getting more disappointed that we only get 2 new weapon skills…
I have gotten about 10 of these from different people. If you just ignore them, nothing will happen.
You have to get in your servers TS.
Then you have to spend time developing a relationship with the regular pick up group players.
Then you have to earn a reputation as someone who knows how to group them together, place siege in proper locations, and ask the right professions to cast the correct skills at the correct time.
Then you have a start. A few months of that and you might get zergs following you.
I’ve thought of onto jumping onto TS, the problem though is I’m a pretty young gamer. I want to try my best to stay away from TS because my high voice and the fact people won’t take me seriously. Ill probably try at some point, and thanks for the feedback!
Use a voice changer add on :P
This would probably solve your problem xD
I started playing this game as a Warrior because I’m familiar with the “Barbarian” type class in other games. But recently, I make a Ranger, and found that to be really strong in WvW. With the amount of damage I can do from long range, do people think that this class is fair?
I use Longbow and a lizard pet. At any target I aim for, my pet rushes to it, doing double damage from my bow and pet. When it dies, I can switch to another pet, and keep doing long range damage. I also have an AOE #5 attack skill, where it rains arrows like an arrow cart.
Is it just me, or does it seem like Rangers are too strong for WvW?
There is one thing people don’t seem to understand. Guild Wars 2 is balanced… Nothing is OP and nothing is UP, it depends on certain builds against certain other (counter) builds and the person who is playing.
Don’t choose your class based on damage, choose it based on your playstyle.
Sounds cool.
It would be great if you’d make a similar raid on EU
In one word: AWESOME.
I only think that the All’s Well that Ends Well trait should be a bit boosted, see no reason to take it at this point. The cooldowns on the wells are too long for this trait to be good
Time playing Mesmer: About 3 or 4 days? By this time I was winning most of my hotjoin games on Ranger, Necro, Engi, etc. Day 3 of sPvP on Mesmer is no better than day 1. I’m playing better and it just doesn’t matter. The main difference is now I can spike people to 20% instead of just 50% before dying to one Barrage or to Backstab spam or something.
Mesmer is a class that requires more skill and practice than other classes. The build you run is fine. You can’t expect to win a lot if you’ve played mesmer for 3 days… Every class has some sort of counter, in this case thief. Just keep practicing, do 1v1’s, try some other builds. Mesmer is definitely a good class, it’s just a bit harder to get into
I don’t know much about mesmers with celestial, but you might want to check this out:
First of all, mesmer is awesome!
It is fun to play imo and you can really confuse guys with your clones. However, mesmer has a pretty high skill cap, so it takes some time to be really good at it.
Mesmers are useful in PVE, but nothing really special. Time warp is a good skill, but everybody can live without it xD
I really like mesmer in structured PVP, it is fun to play and can be really useful to just burst enemies down. It is not particularly supporting your team, that’s why you don’t see many mesmers in high ranked PVP.
I like mesmer most in WvW. It is a very good roaming class and is useful in zergs too. The meta for roaming is a shatter mesmer, this has extreme burst. But I like to play PU condition, which is just awesome because of the survivability and confusing people with clones. Mesmers are good in zergs, but you shouldn’t have too many. The utilities are good, like the skill Veil and Portal. There aren’t many mesmers in zergs lately, so you will always be useful.
So overall, if you like WvW and specifically roaming. Then mesmer is the class for you. PVP and PVE is also really fun, but there mesmer is just an average class.
Stealth is always fun, but it is not necessary imo.
However, I would love some more mobility!
Like people said already, it really depends on your play style. If you want to run around in zergs all the time, it may be useful to get some knights and berserkers. If you want to roam around (like I do) you should go with berserkers and 3 armorpieces + weapons assassins
You can try to get some experience in wvw, this may be usefull.
If you like playing on your mesmer then just keep playing. If you don’t like it then you should try something else. Maybe it is just not your thing.
Great idea man, looks awesome
Need build templates like in gw1
srs conquest
skyham troll
srs stronghold
I agree. There should be build templates, it makes everything a lot easier. If this is not going to happen, then there should be a separate queue
I feel like Obsidian Sanctum should get a boost in reward. It used to be something many people did, jump and cause others to fall. I always had lots of fun doing it. Nowadays there is nobody in it.
It’s not that weird though, cause you get 1 blueprint and only about 15 badges of honor. This is just not enough. Please make the reward better so I can have fun in Obsidian Sanctum again.
I wouldn’t recommend to go without a bow. I usually go sword/warhorn + longbow or sword/axe +longbow in dungeons (at lvl 80). This way you can just start of with a barrage and rapid fire and then switch to s/w, this has a really good damage output. The build I use is from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgWGLMXvKAk
With a few adjustments to make it suit me better.
I never tried to go without a bow at all, so I’m not really sure if it’s that bad, I’ve just never seen anybody do it :P. Of course you could always try.
1.) That won’t happen. They might make system where transfering to lower tier servers is cheaper to balance the tiers some but I highly doubt they’ll lower the price for a gold league server such as Gandara.
2.) Maybe you can make a new acc on Gandara for the discounted price?
3.) We lack commanders not players. sure population is an issue(especially in off hours) but the main problem is that we don’t have enough commanders to keep people going.
And out of curiosity: Which guild were you in?
I was in The Searing, we merged a little while ago ans are now We Will Be Friends [NLT]
I think server transfers are too expensive nowadays.
Pre season 2 there was a week when people could switch servers for free, it didn’t really work out cause there was no limit to the amount of transfers. Just before that I took a break from gw2, I missed the free transfer.
Now my whole guild including my brother is on Gandara while I’m stuck on Underworld. Underworld is really bad at wvw, I can walk around in EB for 20 minutes without seeing anyone… I’d like to transfer to Gandara now but it’s just too expensive: 1800 Gems! That’s 30 euro’s!
Before the megaserver this might have been reasonable because you got all the benefits from another server. But now it’s just WvW. Can’t they make the transfer just a kitteneaper or make a 50% off weekend or something?
My brother and I have an argument.
Which character looks cooler? The right one or the left one?
Don’t mention the feet in the ground :p

For PvE, imo condition is better overall. It’s much more survivable and some builds have insane healing (signet of malice + caldrops & death blossom).
Ok, thanks. I’ll try the condition build then.
I played a mesmer to lvl 80 and just made a human thief. I’be seen many builds and i like the idea of a condition bleed thief with DB. I’m just wondering if this is good for leveling or is a power/precision thief better?. And if this build is good for leveling, is it also good at low lvl?
