On weaponswap sigils do not proc when you swap legends.
When you have Aegis on and you use a block skill like Protecter’s Strike, the skill will trigger and the Aegis will tick at the same time. This makes the trait Unscathed Contender hard to use.
Ever wondered what the highest health total in game is? Well I did! Where some people gather skins, and others roleplay, I like to do science projects in game and this is one of them.

All the details are at the end of the video. If you think I missed something to increase my vitality even more, do tell and I’ll have to try again when my server (WSR) gets 305,800+ points again!

Old issue, but first time posting for me.
Karma merchant Crusader Benson/Warmaster Benson that spawns after the gates of arah is double.
They sell the same and lorewise they might be brothers, but it looks more like a bug.
In southsun, near the asuran portal
There is an ‘advisor Okk’ and an ‘advisor Okk [repairs]’ right on top of eachother.
Hope it’s clear in the screenshot I took
After Mawdrey and the Star I suggest we get a thing that eats tiny snowflakes next. Forget Dragonite Ore, the real inventory killers are these little buggers.
Anyone found use for them? Will they ever be useful? Destroying them seems to be a waste.
Suggestion: make the frostbitten tools drop snowflakes depending on the tier of node, thus getting less tiny snowflakes.
Good change, I like it!
Edit: oops, was meant for the crafting subforum. But since it’s on the trading post I see it as relevant :P

It’s not two kittens, it’s Rox and Braham. :p
Oh noes, the big mean filter censored bad as to kitten.
I see that some of you doubt the hype of dry top. I can see why, dry top is boring.
But because it’s so boring, makes it so interesting!
There will be a lot more ground introduced than dry top, but as you can see on the world map: The brown circle is almost a quarter of an average world map.
Now what could arenanet do with a large open flat desert?
– well you could place merchants along the side, making it a pain to run to all of them.
– you could place some mobs all over the place.
– you could place a druid in the middle for some lore and leave this big open plain practically unused.
NO, that will not happen.
This is a large mountain with a flat top.
– There is room for caverns!
– There is definitely room for a big boss on top!
Arenanet needs to make this area interesting, what do you think will happen? HYPE
DRY TOP WILL BE AMAZING!
Yay, dry top, dry top, dry top!
Ever since release I was saying they would make dry top a playable area.
For those who don’t know. Dry top is an explorable area in guild wars 1. There is not too much special about it. druids live there, some enemies, easy vanquish.
I was excited about it since I opened my map for the first time. The big brown circle next to brisban was basically screaming: “I WILL BE PLAYABLE!”
It’s big, giving room for a giant monster. It’s a mountain, giving room for complex labs or caves or hideouts underneath (triad dungeon maybe? Their fortress is nearby).
I’ve always had this idea of an asuran hermit placing his weathermachine on top, creating unstable weather phenomena like snow, tornadoes, moesson, etc. spawning creatures that would likely to live in that environment. Man, the possibilities. Dry Top! I’m hyped.
P.S. I think Dry top is that scene from the trailer where two kittenes walk over a windy and dusty plane with the tumbleweed.
Dry top
This isn’t a bug. Urmaug does sell the recipe for the station, but only if the ogres are succesfully escorted in the most recent Lion’s Arch rescue. The same is true for Evon selling the recipe for maintenance oil station(protect the Black lion dolyaks) and the recipe for tuning crystal station (protect the lighthouse workers)
It’s that time of the week again. We come togheter as a server and defeat tequatl. But this time I felt there was something wrong. I had some disconnections before the event started. Praying for good luck I attempt the event. We succeeded with flying colors, I got credit in each event. BUT …. I lost connection in the last seconds and came back emptyhanded. no chests for me, altough I was helping the whole fight on my turret. I also had this happen to me in the latest addition of the new patch (attack on Lion’s Arch) but I blame that on the numerous bugs that exist in that event.
Q1: Is there some sort of ‘fix’ in the works for people with similair connection problems? (since the problems is as old as Guild Wars 2 itself)
Q2: Can I contact someone to have a chance to still get my precursor greens from the event?
Since yesterday(Patch day), I keep having disconnects. I have around 5-15 minutes of play time before everything freezes. It either logs out itself or I have to do it manually. I have missed out on a lot of rewards for PvE and PvP alike. Being a commander for the new world bosses certainly doesn’t work togheter with being disconnected.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, does anyone know how to solve it?
I’d love to hear your answers and to see my problem solved.
Thanks,
Douwe (WSR)
Keep them for Bosses only. They’re a great way to distinguish the big attacks from the small attacks. Besides, if all hostile AoE became an orange circle, how can you distinguish it between a frost or a fire field? Everyone will just dodge ALL the orange circles, which makes them very overpowered.
So this happened to me twice now in SoloQ. Every time I had a draw I had won. I read this thread and was curious about the works behind it and did some researching with a friend. Here’s my results from two tests:
first: I killed my friend twice, she killed me once and I suicided in the map (skyhammer) both teams got 10 points but I got more personal points. My side won when the time ran out.
Second: After some effort with capping the points we both got the same personal points and PPT so the fight ended in a draw. Oddly enough only one team won, red. The screen is from the second match. So even in an absolute draw, there will always be a winner and a loser. I guess it’s either based on level or color, but I’m not sure because it’s only one test. Hope this clarifies and raises some questions at the same time
Not sure if I’m the first one with this problem (probably not), but I’m going to say it regardless:
Just did the Dwayna boss event. But after the statue was dead I got no boss chest or bonus chest, only the gilded coffer each champion/legendary risen drops. While everyone was happily linking their dragonite ore and their precursors, I was looking for my chest.
Note: 1) Last time I did the event was around a month ago.
2) I had a dc at the start, but got right back into the fight and I started shooting her whilst she almost had full health.
I added 2 screenshots posting my lootscreen and inventory/surroundings.
what could be the issue and how can I claim my dragonite ore/precursor(It’s worth a try)?
Whiteside Ridge is a very warm server, everyone is welcome. Our server contains a lot of friendly and good players. But our WvWvW battles lack manpower. We of WSR learned to play with small numbers, but even if we play as lions eventually the big tide of sheep is too much for us.
If you or/and your guild wants to play on a friendly server and seek a challenge in a WvW world with (almost) no queu: You are very welcome!
So something strange happened yesterday. red was trebbing a green tower, but there were no reds ready to storm in when the wall was down. We (blue) however were. The moment the wal was down we stormed in and my demolition expert popped up and said that I had completed it. So it dinged while I didn’t do any damage to the wall but was near it when it broke. This contradicts what Devon said.
Hmm, I have to contradict my earlier post and agree with you Andrew. I was a bit upset and made the post right after a heavy slaughter fest.
The season is in my opinion still a success, despite the cons I described in the OP.
WSR was actually winning in the first half of the first matchup because it brought people to WvW for the achievements and a considerable amount stayed for the fights/fun. This made our first matchup very exciting and fun, which (ofcourse) is a success.
The insane map queues are awesome
lol, queus. I’ve heard of them but not seen them. I can always jump in when I want to :P
We of Whiteside Ridge were tired of the easy servers like Fissure of Woe and Vabbi, we wanted to play with the other big servers! This season we can show our true value against higher tier servers as Ring of Fire (lol) and Ruins of Surmia. A truly great idea!
I especially like that they introduced no armor damage in WvW and a permanent WXP and magic find boost!
All sarcasm aside, heres a random screenshot were you can see Blacktide and Ring of Fire (lol) literally fighting over our last remaining blue point on the map.
If you or your guild is looking for WvW on hard mode please strengthen the numbers of Whiteside Ridge, it’s much appreciated.
The sword needs more love! On the forums it’s just: cool greatsword here, stun hammer/mace there, but everyone is forgetting the best weapon: the sword.
Lately I’ve been rediscovering my alt classes and giving them interesting builds. And on almost all of them was sword the most fun, versatile and just plain best choice.
So what makes the sword so awesome?
– It has a gap closer!
– It has decent damage!
– It has good condi pressure!
– It has an evade or damage spike or something similar!
– 5! Yes 5 different professions can use it!
– It is a one-handed weapon!
What’s so special about a one hander? You can flavor your sword playstyle with an off hand. You can use a shield for defense, a pistol for some ranged pressure, a torch for whatever reason, hell you can even use a sword while we’re at it.
But if the sword is so awesome, why aren’t we noticing it?
Because the sword isn’t noticable! All the skins are plain rip-offs or hand-me-down’s from the greatsword. And in a game all about cosmetics, it just isn’t worth it to walk around with a barely noticable sword, which when noticed is almost always ugly.
Yeah, yeah, you like the sword. But why make this thread?
The sword needs more love!
Let’s get rid of the current meta: GO GREATSWORD OR GO HOME!
– Upgrade sword skins! (Shadow of lord Taere is an example of good thinking from Anet.)
– update the sword skills!
We need more swords in Guild wars 2!
Hmm, I’m curious as well. We know you don’t use the PvP Shield for PvP crafting, but if it is not meant to be why would it give you the option? Is this a boo-boo from Anet or is there a (secret) crafting recipe involved?
I like the idea of a champion solo challenge. I hope the next God-tier/tier-1 challenges will be outside of Fractals, my highest level is 21 :/ . We’ll see, keep up the good work everyone
Ah, thank you for reminding me that he exists. Commando was an April fools joke from Anet in 2012. They announced it as a new playable profession with some overpowered skills. See the wiki for more information: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commando
So I got my hands on some superior sigils of agony through some random chance and that made me really happy, remembering they were 1+ gold. When I tried to sell them on the TP I noticed they were beneath 20 silver. I thought I was delusional for not noticing the change. So I look it up on gw2spidy and I noticed that on the 4th of September the price dropped from 1 gold to 20 silver. Could someone please tell me what happened and caused this price drop?

(Beware, this is a semi-QQ post)
After about 200 times trying the light up the darkness achievement I gave up. Not because of motivation or money, but because of the time en buginess. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the gauntlet and Killing Liadri herself is relatively easy, but the achievement is just too much. I’ve never got past 7 orbs and only killed her with 6. Every fight I couldn’t either pick up one of the orbs or succesfuly destroy one of the rifts with multiple hits. I had this every fight and because of that and that I have to go tomorrow I have to let this achievement slide, which bothers me a lot. So I wondered:
Q: When they reïntroduce the gauntlet, will they bring back the old achievements or introduce a whole new system?
i.e. Old achievements like super adventure box or New achievements like crab toss, giving a certain prestige to the now unatainable achievements.
I would really like to have another shot at the achievement in a bugless gauntlet, so please give your thoughts and/or answers about this. Thanks
So after the blog post several things became clear:
- only fine and masterwork will drop these essences
- higher tier salvage kits will have a better drop rate at them
- high chance at 10 point essence and a small chance at a big point essence
- greens => more MF => more greens => more MF => more greens => more MF etc.
- “Are you sure you want to salvage ‘crappy green of minor kitten’ ?” will become a pain in the kitten after 100 or so greens
(edited: the tier of salvage kit doesn’t matter. Source: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/bltc/Copper-Fed-Salvage-O-Matic-Useless)
(edited by Douwe.1746)
I think they stated somewhere that the higher your account MF, the less frequent it drops from salvaging. Not sure what the curve is gonna look like though
.
Hmm, I don’t think that is the case. Then people can hoard them at the start and have them come rolling in untill they safely can pop them for a very high permanent Magic find boost.
I expect it to be a slow, very likely also time gated progression. But I still like the permanent account wide side of it better than what it is now.
I think that is the most logic solution. Maybe you can boost you MF with essence of luck paired with charged quartz crystal, to name an existing time gate.
Hello everyone,
I was wondering what your thoughts were about the Essences of Luck.
How do you think it works? Is it a booster or is it a permanent addition to your account magic find?
Also it has been stated that it is salvagable from fine and masterwork, but do you think it is also possible to get them from rares and exotics?
If you also have questions about it, don’t be shy and share them
People like Logan?
If you do, do you also like Trahearne? (shudders)
This won’t end well!
I think I’ve made around 800 gold.
Well this is officially fixed. Between the constant lag spikes and being put in the arena with Liandri right after killing Deadeye (dodging shadowfall and mines is quite fun though), turning a decent profit has become quite hard.
After a shopping spree this morning I thought it would be good to buy a kitten load of tickets to farm the hell out of it before tomorrow. Well I lost around 100 tickets due to lag and I still have a ton of them left.
A good fix Anet and just in time to troll people just like me who wanted to farm at the last moments. GG
Except for Jewelers and Cooks. The 3 crafting disciplines that can create weapons got the 3 sigils and the 3 crafting disciplines that can create armor got the runes. Jeweler and Cook have no use for sigils and runes so they got nothing. Maybe in a future update they will include something exclusively for Jewelers.
Hello fellow farmers,
I did some research. I bought 100 gold worth of tickets and started farming.
That is 2500 tickets, 500 runs, 2 days, died 7 times, bought 35 tickets and here is the result.
On average 1 bag contains:
-9,95 silver
-4,8 sprockets
-2,5% chance for a ticket
-0,3% chance for a lodestone
-0,6% chance for a portal
-0,2% chance for a tuning crystal
-0,2% chance for a weapon skin
and an unkown chance for a recipe.
now to find a use for the massive amount of sprockets I got
This also happened to me while fighting ‘Deadeye Dunwell’ and ‘Strugar and Chomper’. Suddenly a quaggan appeared, stood in my caltrops and one-shots me. Also saw someone fighting Liadri but got mercilessly pummeled to death by a quaggan. Very annoying
I tried to finish the “Crab Grabber” and “Crab Carrier” achievements today, but they were bugged. I tried switching servers and characters, but that didn’t work. It’s a bit dissappointing knowing that I can’t finish these achievements. Maybe Anet can keep crab-toss in the game for a few more days? Just like they did with the “Secret Contact” achievement in F&F that was also bugged for a lot of people.
Thank you for the quick response.
I will try what you are suggesting.
Hello everyone. Recently I moved to a new adress and with it I got a new IP. Eager to play Guild wars 2 in my new home I tried to log in. Here I got the “waiting for authentication” wait screen. But I never got a “approve the log-in attempt” e-mail from Anet.
This was over two weeks ago and I tried to log in multiple times almost every day and I never got one e-mail. I tried it on my University campus and after the 12th attempt I got an e-mail. But my university uses a generic IP adress, so that was pretty useless. I also got a mail from a log in attempt from China, but I never left western Europe my whole life.
In short: I can’t get authentication e-mail’s, but the function doesn’t seem disabled. Do you experience the same problem, do you know what is wrong and/or do you know how to fix it: PLEASE be my saviour and help me (and possibly other forumdwellers) so I can play the game.
Thank you for reading
(Maybe this is important: Error code 42:1030:7:215)
I was mining some orichalcum in frostgorge sound when one of the nearby frost wurms hit me. Normally they have knockback, but my last stance trait prevented that from happening. This happened while mining and my last strike gave me a chunk of ruined ore instead of an orichalcum ore. Maybe the game expects you to be knocked down and out and prevents you from gathering if you get didn’t get pushed back.
It’s a rare occurence but annoying when it happens, especially when it also consumes one of your orichalcum pick uses.
If you transmute 2 items, then the final item will have the looks and inventory icon of 1 item and the stats of the other. But if you look into the vendor sell list you’ll notice that the final item still has the icon of the transmuted stat item.
To get an idea of the problem i’ve made a screenshot of some weapons transmuted with HoM skins in inventory and vendor icons.
I already sent a bug report, but i wanted to post it here to get more attention for this problem.
Thanks for the answers. It probably is a hack, I reported and moved on
So I was doing some mining near Nonmoa lake, when I saw a player appearing out of nowhere next to me. This happened at three nodes very close to eachother. I have never seen that before. Couldn’t even see his nameplate or silhouette. So for future gathering I was wondering: “What skill or item makes you truly invisible?”
cool, thanks for the quick reply
With the addition of the Laurels i was wondering if I hadn’t completed the January monthly achievement in the first few days, but completed it after the Flame & Frost update, would I’ve gotten extra Laurels? This seems a bit unfair to me, but I’ve not seen any confirmation that the January monthly awards them. Could someone clarify this for me?
There I was, enjoying my victory tour in Fort Trinity after cleansing the heart of Orr in “The Source of Orr”; I had heard some rumours about a karmavendor who was only present in this particular instance. I did not find the vendor, but I did find this dude: Crewman Rhisiart. A nice guy, enjoying the new cleansed wind in Orr. So I thought I share a picture of this brave headless fellow with the world. In short: The NPC Crewman Rhisiart is Naked and headless during “The Source of Orr”.
