If thf’s are being annoying, then they are doing their job. Time to stop looking at thief as a “Punching Bag” cause you cant kill one. Look at your own class and figure out whats great about it. Anet just basically handed you the way to kill a thief on a silver platter.

The fix is simple, give a class like the Ranger or his pets a way to detect stealth.

Imo: I think the commander tag should be a Public vote or something a little more complicated than spending 100g. I did alot of not attacking tonightafter everyone jumped ship in sbi bl, JQ took garrison and after it was all said and done i was still in there. had about 10 trying to fight me and kill me, they almsot had me a few times on inner lords room. i jumped out about 10-15 mins after giving them the peek a boo ninjar stance.. waved and cryed a few times. Preceeded on the outer garrison where a ranger and a guardian tryed getting me. evaded them waved cryed shared some shrugs with them. Waved again and jumped out of garrison in from of the gaurdian. Was pretty eventful lol. Proceeded to do the same afterwords when jq took astralholme. Some call it trolling, i call it spicing up the moments of Wv3 xD

For my thief i had around 14k health once and was somewhat 70-80% glass cannon. My heartseeker was never that close to that amount of damage to anyone.

If you want I can get video/picture proof of how much it hits me for, i can also get proof of a thief build that can kill me in 0.5-1 second.

Rebuild your toon is all i can say. We have the technology and means to create better defense. Heartseeeker increases in damage the lower the health of the target is. Take time to learn from this.

Please do explain, Cause if you say you had ppl in the keep the whole time, that i know for a fact is false. 1 dead mes doesn’t go from dead, to disappearing to portaling folks in. right in front of about 5-6 of us. It may not be your whole guild. But there is one, or more, and they know who they are. I understand defending your guild name. We’re not out to ruin your name. Just pointing out the obvious few from your guild. That in itself would be incentive enough to weed these folks out of your guild. As i said before, we know what happened. Don’t need others to believe it. Keep bringing the good fights SoS and JQ.

Like i said ig. We know what is fact about this, we don’t need others to believe what just happened. Only thing we can hope for is commanders of other servers to address this in any way possible. And keep it clean, yet competitive.

This is no Sbcry we sat there, watched a downed messmer go from dead to dissapear to full health porting ppl in, no one was reviving her, Her health meter did not move. One fellow even witnessed another fly hacking to get in. Again, Address this Please. This is indeed no way to win.

But since there are so many other ways for players to have spies or solicit strategies WITHOUT cross-server chatting…then removing cross server chatting doesn’t make much sense.

It’s removing a feature to prevent an exploit that it’s not really preventing anyway.

It’s not to completely prevent an exploit but to significantly reduce and limit it and not make the exploit worldwide (gamewise) to the general population.

We all get what you are saying, but you are basically arguing to cut off the arm to spite the hand.

Removing cross-server communication does a lot to make your opponents feel less like people and more like NPCs with really good AI. Removing it prevents cross-server friendships made on the battle field, and crazy 1v1 tournaments that people had set up. Removing it prevents players from learning tips from their opponents.

And you’re saying we should get rid of all this because someone might use it to spill the beans on some strategy? Granted they could do this other ways, but maybe this just makes it a bit more accessible.

The ends aren’t suited to the means…you are giving up A LOT to prevent something relatively minor.

Nah, Not totally remove/prevent cross-server communication. Like i said, we have forums to voice our opinions. And we have the “know how” of whispering individuals on other servers. But to make it possible for whole communities to chat cross server at once via /yell /server /battleground types of chat would bring a lot of nonsense. Again just my opinion on it. Run with it or hate it its just one little opinion in a community that will tear it apart bit by bit.

Again, in order to help change the idea to fit everyone’s needs we really need specifics as to why it would impact you negatively. What you describe is a great reason for you to leave the flag on, but not why you would be against your fellow players from having the choice.

Because I am not open to the possibility that my fellow player may get a wild hair up their “blank” and shout out strategies/etc. I hate to be untrusting of some ppl but that is human nature. And in the past we’ve had problems with spies. This would make it very easy for them to relay messages to other teams. I just dont think it would be a good idea. Not being able to talk to other players via In-game W3 is Imo a great thing. Leaves me the Option of coming to the forums to talk to these players in our Scores Threads. im still waiting on the major quality of life improvements though, all i can say is ranger as is has little variation to it, everything is lowend sustained dmg or bleed stack, pets are unreliable dmg atm for a class that is balanced around the dmg that they are seposed to do. rangers are freaking fun to play dont get me wronge but they have very little utility atm and pets need alot of attention still, for survivability and overall performance. ive been playing my necro recently just cause i can do more then only sustained dmg on it (i can turn boons into conditions, i can turn conditions into boons, transfer conditions from allies to foes, alot of aoe attacks, etc ). i would love there to be added some depth back into ranger even if it went back to the heavy burst based on CDs again, it would at least add alittle more dynamic back into fighitng with a ranger… would be nice if the utility skills got an overhaul soon as well, the signents, shouts, spirits, and preperations could use more variation or elaberation to them, they are meh at best and still would not sway the tide of battle if u used them or not with the exception of QZ, that i can say is the only utility that can actually change a fight if used in most situations…. i just hope like you all we get some of the updates that would put more depth back into ranger, the class is probably one of the best set ups for a pet class in a game and should be something truly awesome and deadly. not ignorable on the battle field cause they are the least threatening (im mainly talking wvw there)

Id just like to add that signet of Stone when traited with Signet of the Beastmaster in Marksmanship tree is pretty usefull too.

And what situation is this that you speak of? Am i not allowed to post my experience of ranger in the ranger update forums? This whole thread is a reflection on how poor the ranger is as a class atm. And how poorly Anet addressed this “Real Situation”

But you’re expressing your experiences as if it’s the classes fault, you mentioned WvW. So my real guess is that you are not geared and got ganked by a better geared played and got killed instantly, surprise! That would happen to every poorly geared class.

You are suggesting sense i mention WvW i am not geared? That is simply not the case. I am geared, and i do know how to play my class. I am not just some mere nooby that had just entered WvW. I have 900hours invested in Gw2. With 200+ hours on Ranger alone. Granted that doesn’t mean i know everything there is to know. But it is not hard to distinguish between a well built class and a class that is just lacking.

How do you die in 1.5 seconds with the most dodging capable class with 4 built in evades in a weapon set and with several stun breaks. Do you not carry stun breaks?

Okay I’m done with this little argument or w/e it is. If you can’t get a little laugh out of a simple story of mine then i have no need to keep debating with you. Apparently all you wanna do is argue, and pick and prod at what i had posted. You win guy.

SoS is new to T1 and have an awful lot to prove (not sure to who but I think it is the general idea). In truth there were two SoS’s…before and after the HoD explosion. After the explosion it was inevitable to see them in T1 with all of the great new talent they picked up.

However, here is the sad fact of T1 and WvWvW in general… once you are in T1 for a while you start to lose interest for multiple reasons and things like the crap being spewed in this thread drive more people away than it attracts making the problem even worse.

To dominate T1 you need excellent coverage, great commanders and continuous commitment from both of those two things. Once either starts to fall off it is a slippery slope.

Jang Gun is a very impressive commander and I have not even seen him for two days nor have I seen WM out in the numbers they normally present…maybe they are burned out and need a break. Seems numbers/interest in general is down.

To the ANET person reading this…if you want to fix the mass exodus you are seeing from WvWvW simply add a system specific to WvWvW with carrots and PvP kitten supplements that will keep us coming back for more!

To the QQ’rs in this thread go log in and fight or go outside and breath some fresh air =)

IMO. just another video showing what culling issues cause. Portal bombing is a good tactic for abusing culling/server lag. Also a great way to get everyone stacked and using blast finishers. I’m on the fence about this… Also, would have loved it if you didn’t speed the video up.

How can you say that when the servers are “Full – High” populated status on JQ, just cause you quit doesn’t mean it is a dying server. Please do not discourage ppl with false accusations. Btw if you quit. Why are you still reading Gw2 forums and posting on them.? Sorry just curious.

Only thing they need to do is implement No capture/block capture while stealth. I believe they did this in spvp and it should be in wvw. Being a thief myself, i feel this is not right at all. Granted there are ways around this.

Yea, had a few matches there where they set a treb up there, this, along with many many other issues, has to be fixed. Exploits are only fun to those that are using them,obviously, and should be addressed in my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I have an 80 ranger. Love ranger type classes… but in this game, my Ranger will be collecting dust, sadly, till changes(not some crappy under water damage buff changes) are made.

Yup, rangers are completly worthless, always when i see one regardless class i am playing (currently have only 80war, 80 thi , 80 mes and poor 41 rannger – abandoned), it is easy kill :P ranger was my first toon and it is quite good pve (double bear tank). Problem is wvw/spvp/tpvp it is rubish. I was expecting big buffs for that class but nothing so far:/ They deserve really major update. All other classes have their own use, but if you ask me, i would create group of only thieves:D It’s awesome when playing in group if skilled thieves-3-6.

Lmao love the skit on ranger Naphack, May i point out, Thief can block Trebs/catas with Smoke Screen, I believe Engineers have an ability to block projectiles as well, can’t think of it right now. and the Mesmers Time Warp ability you are referring to as “Mass Haste” only buffs 5 Targets. Player tested.. Anet approved.

I find joy in spiking someone to their doom. And there are ways around getting knocked back stunned etc. Hint… “Blindness” , As for the Stealth downs, For mesmers, watch for the second character to reappear, the clone is always the first, for thieves, Watch for them to “blink” away and just keep auto attacking where they blink to if they go stealth afterwords. As for elementalist… lol really.. do i have to explain this one? just hope they dont go mist form into their group/team/zerg.
And for warriors, if they get back up from downed, and not being a rally/revive, just run away from them, they will die shortly. =P
