my gamestyle is to make other players crying….with going afk when matchmaking fails or make them rage and lose when the matchmaking works and i have the people in my team which have same rating as me =)

dont you guys get it? when you make driver license then a teacher go some hours on street with you and teach you how to drive. And then you get your driving license. In Guild Wars 2 you should first play 8vs8 hotjoin to learn pvp basics , your class , the maps etc. and then you should be allowed to join tpvp.

And the different between driver license and gw2 is , that you have to learn by your own and there is no teacher teaching you. Or do you want a teacher in gw2 handholding you and go trought the pvp? sure pay me money and i gonna teach newbies. Driver license Teacher gets money too for teaching you dont he?

hence the word tpvp (tournament pvp) means its more for experienced people so why would a normal thinking human join tpvp as a total newbie? but then again there is more and more dumb humans on this earth.

i think there really need to be a minimum requirement to join tpvp , lets say r20 or something like that. To avoid none normal thinking humans joining tpvp.

I went from 0 to top 42 and down to 0 by going afk many games and again back top 50 if i carry all those noobs. But it has come to an end , i dont need to prove anything and i am kittening tired to carry all this kitten out there.

I’ve gotten a few PMs about this, so I’ll post what I was going to say to each of them here.

There are only three things being considered in the current matchmaking; 1) your MMR, 2) how long you’ve been waiting, and 3) who is available to play with.

1) MMR is not broken, it works exactly as it should and I’ve personally verified this. Yes, we want to place new players on the curve better, but simply lowering the default rating will only work if the curve has already been established. As a reminder, everyone’s MMR is being reset on the 29th, so that takes changing the default off of the table.

If you’re trying to gauge the correctness of the MMR based off the leaderboards, you will very likely fail because decay makes things much less predictable and consistent. Even more so now that we have increased the frequency of the decay calculation.

We’re open to suggestions regarding other ways of handling MMR.

We’re discussing ways to place new players more appropriately, and we’re open to suggestions in this area as well. The only thing that is off the table right now is splitting the user base, we can’t do this until it gets larger. We have several plans being implemented right now that are aimed at increasing the number of players.

2) When we scan through the queue to find matches, we use your ratings deviation. As time goes on we gradually increase your ratings deviation to increase the odds that we’ll find a match for you. This does lead to lower quality matches, but its very common to do this on the assumption that a lower quality match is better than no match at all.

If you’re on the outer edges of the ratings curve, this is very likely the culprit for why you’re being matched with players with a much different skill level than your own.

3) Related to #2. During low concurrency you will likely need to wait a longer amount of time because there are fewer people around your skill level, increasing the odds #2 will kick in and you’ll get a lower quality match.

That said, a few people that are on the high rating side are upset because they are now being grouped with lower skill players. Before the matchmaking change these higher rated players would be grouped together and they would just stomp the other team. Now they are being shuffled around on teams, which means no more lopsided matches in general. You can still get a lopsided by chance just because of who was available at the time, but even when this happens the match is still much more even than before the changes went in.

I guess that’s the long way of saying “Oh, sorry guys, but for the last year we screwed PvP so much, that now there ain’t enough players for you to get matched up with”.

and if arenanet remove the ranks and put in the leaderboard rating/leaderboard place then it would be the same at the end , insteed of low rank people you will get matched with low rating people and see their low rating or people which are place 700-900 in leaderboard while you are top 100.

in the end it will change nothing , this game simple has not enought pvp players left. arenanet fault.

solo queue matchmaking still kitten , yesterday around midnight i had to play 3 games with noobs which wasnt even on the leaderboard while me is top 100 , one guy had played 11 tpvp games while i have over 3000 played tpvp games.

i want to play with people at my Rating. And if this is not possible because of low population issue then just confirm that the PvP Community is dead because you made all pvpers quit.

No, it’s more like “if you want your win/losses to stay around 50/50 then you should play during peak hours.”

Glicko2 can handle adjusting your MMR properly when you’re matched against players of different skill levels.

its more like this , there is not enought pvp players left anymore. so pvp part of game is simple dead because of low population. congrats arenanet you made all pvp players leave by releasing a game with unfinished pvp part and adding new broken pvp mechanic/content.

Back to battlefield 4 , maybe i will come back when leaderboards get a reset , skyhammer glory farmers a rollback , and the new pvp reward system is out. 2-3 months or something like that , why should i play a game with broken pvp content with a low pvp population as a pvp player?

What exactly is broken about matchmaking? In 90% of my matches i get opponents/teammates equal to my ladderrank. Ok, sometimes there is some obscure matchup(guess due to the numbers of actual players), but in a matchup of “topplayers vs. noobs” no one gets anything for his ranking. Theres a kind of hidden ELO system behind the scene, like we know it from other games ladders. So what…?

Loosing to a superstrong team does exactly nothing to your rank. I for example have beaten some top20 players in soloq several times, now im top20 myself with a bad ratio of 60%. Honestly, you can only win if youre matched vs. the elite.

For me it feels pretty legit.

Nobody should get Reward. Matchmaking Broken / Team Arena Sign Up Broken / Leaderboard Broken. Arenanet did a mistake to Reward People which had alot of QP Points , the old Leaderboard with QP Points was also broken. Dont do this mistake again.

Arenanet dont give out Rewards for kittens. The Matchmaking and Leaderboards are broken so why should anyone get a Reward climbing up a broken Leaderboard and with a broken Matchmaking?

and still Team Arena is more like Random vs Premade , its very easy to get Top 100 in Team Arena for exsample by just farming randoms , since you can sign up Team Arena alone or with 2er or 3er or 4er Group. Team Arena Sign up should be only available for 5er Groups so its only Premade vs Premade for the sake of Competition.

and also why did arenanet remove the team arena requirement of 5er group to be able to sign up team arena? so it would be only 5er premade vs 5er premade and not random vs premade.

random vs premade is bad for both sides , for the premades its boring to farm randoms and for the randoms it is also boring to get farmed by premades.

yesterday i played with 4 people in my group which all was rank 1000+ against a premade which was top 20 , broken matchmaking is broken.

if there is no enemy with equal ranks/mmr then game shouldnt just start against any team with any rank/mmr , instead the system should continue to search a enemy team with equal ranks even if people have to wait like 10-20min. i dont care for long waiting times , and it will also prove that this game is dead when it does have long waiting times till a pvp game start , so it would make it easier for some people to just quit dead game.

there is only 4-5 teams signed for this ESL or? and 3-4 of them are very bad.
but anyway the pvp community is on its alltime lowest , too many pvpers did quit so its not interesting.

so true……i vote for new pvp devs which are hardcore pvp players. i dont want pve devs making pvp content.

i dont like the temporary change , i dont want pve items as pvp reward. and i dont want arenanet to make pve items as a reward in pvp because this will make unexperienced pve player doing pvp and then i have to play with those unexperienced pve players in pvp because of broken matchmaking system.

tell me if no one care about ranks , why so many people did farm skyhammer? its just about principle , people did spend alot of time to get legit high rank and then some people get high rank because of a bad designed map and people “exploiting” it to get high rank in 1-2 months. Its a punch in the face for them which did earn their rank by legit/normal ways if arenanet dont do a rollback.

arenanet also did a rollback when there was that karma “exploit” for exsample , so why they cant do it with glory aswell?

You being matched like that is because of population issue. No system can fix or match up better if the player base isn’t there.

Your options are:

1. Don’t soloq
2. Find friends with simliar rating to sync queue
3. Queue during prime time when more people are playing
4. Just play, have fun, ignore rating.

i did queue at evening and the game just shouldnt pop , i prefer to wait 20 minutes longer over getting matches with people which are not in my rating. by the way i do ignore the ranks because i went down to rank 900 when i started to go afk because i get newbies like them in my team , then i did start carry those newbies again and get back up to rank 100 but i am tired of carrying the newbies and gz arenanet you did make all pvp players quit.

guess i will buy battlefield 4 then and maybe come back to gw2 when the pvp population increase by at least x3

I was testing pure of voice earlier and I THINK that atm shouts are removing 3 conditions when it should only remove ONE from the runes and ONE from the pure of voice trait (2 total).

This is obviously huge.

Why there isn’t more casual PvP?Hot join can’t be played with friends and i don’t won’t go play Tournaments.Actually i will never play tournaments and that is the only place where i can be grouped friends.

Every MMO till GW2 had Competitive PvP and more casual one.And both modes gave you the option to play with friends.Why GW2 is so different from the other MMOs?It is punishing me because i’m more casual player and just want to have some fun.Let professionals play with professionals but please give me an option to be able to make a party with my friends while playing Hot Join.

i have an idea , arenanet should give those who did farm skyhammer , automatically the rang “Skyhammer Heroes” insteed of Champion Paragon ,Champion Legionär , Champion Magus etc.

We’re changing it so that glory is only rewarded at the end of a match, which should stop the exploit where players leave and rejoin the match. We are also actively looking into other options to prevent this exploiting.

i have a good solution for this issue to make both happy , those which dont like to play with afkers and those which dont like to carry all the noobs because of broken matchmaking.

its very simple , arenanet need to make a ignore list , it will work like this : when you put someone on your ignore list then you wont get matched with this guy again.

But then again some people will have even higher waiting times till a pvp match pops , as if 7-10min waiting time what we have right now isnt enought. But anyway pvp community is on its all time low , too many people did stop playing pvp already because of poor designed pvp content , missing pvp content since the pvp part of this game was released unfinished and (for some guys it matters , for me not) a not so good class balance.

Arenanet had 1 year Time now its too late , good thing is that battlefield 4 release soon.

arenanet should remove the farmed glory from those peoples who did farm glory at skyhammer map.
