Army of Masks [AoM] RELAUNCH!
Due to inactivity we are planning on starting afresh with new core members. The guild has a long heritage going back to 2005 and early Guild Wars 1. During this time we did a lot of cool small events such as quiz nights and funruns. We were, and mostly are, very PvE based. With this long a history behind us there are bound to be players leaving for varied reasons including having families and simply not having time. [AoM] has been with the franchise from the start and we plan to be here till the very end. We are searching for a group of friends that are willing to come to us and bring light back into the guild, including as officer and higher. We also welcome small groups and guilds looking for a home with a guild hall. The guild is currently lv47 and we continue levelling it. We have lots of decorations too, so making jumping puzzles, events, quizzes etc is also welcomed. I was trying to navigate Tangled Depths today (for the umpteenth time) and it struck me – it would be so much easier to find my way if the wallows were actually named on the mini map. When you view one close up it says (for example) Nuhoch Wallow to Teku Nuhoch. Great, I know where it takes me. Except I need to see that on the mini map so I know which one to run to in the first place.
I understand if it doesn’t happen because it’s unnecessary, waste of dev time w/e, but just a suggestion. Thoughts?

Yea, I’d love for the cap to go higher but atm with everywhere I post being ignored I assume its just not something thats On The Table™. Shame really because I’d be using actual cash to top up those slots too so you’d have thought it would be win-win.

Is there any chance that the character slot cap could be increased to say 90 characters? I understand it is a very niche thing to want, but one of each race/profession/sex combo would be awesome to have on one acct. I do have them spread across two, but you miss out on so many skins and QoL items such as shared bags and permanent tools.

I’m having this same problem but my husband isn’t and we have the same IP.

First off, I know this issue probably affects less than 1% of players. I am personally sat at 69 character slots (the cap) but would LOVE to be able to buy up to 90 so I could have one of each race/profession/sex on one account. I do have the 90 between two accounts, but there are so many things (wardrobe, endless tools, endless merch, hairkits etc) that make this very very unwieldy.
Is there a chance the cap might be lifted from 69 to 90+
Does anyone else even care?

I bought the bag extention and the flame dye however i had no option to buy the shadow dye it just wasn’t there.

If you click the promotions tab instead of staying on the main screen it should be there somewhere, might need to scroll past a few minis.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but I did search and can’t find an answer.
Is there any word from devs on whether we will/may/won’t ever get the maximum number of slots lifted? I am currently sat on 40 lv80 characters (one of each race/profession), but I would love to get one of each gender too. This means with HoT coming I would need 90 slots. I COULD put them onto two accounts, but this comes with problems of its own (not least that all my skins/dyes/perma-hairkit is on my main). Is it limited by technical issues, or might we get a cap lift one day? If it lifted I know that I for one would be getting far more slots, but I also understand it wouldn’t benefit most players so may well not happen.

I find this mission frequently bugs out. It’s a minor bug, but Maeva always stays one floor above the hold now, so unless you talk to her through the floor you have to run up and down stairs 4 times to place the charges.

If you are still recruiting, an EU invite would be great. I have a basic idea of most dungeons, but I’d love to learn some Arah/CM/HotW and high level fractals. Thanks

The Living Story has brought out some great dungeons and instances. The Canach fight, the Aetherblade Retreat and the Queens Gauntlet to name but a few. What I always find disappointing is that after all the effort devs went to making these encounters, they are gone again in a fortnight. Sure, some appear in chunks in fractals, but it’s very hit and miss what you get. Great, the Gauntlet is coming back, but it won’t stay. What I would love to see is a “Combat Simulator” placed somewhere like Hoelbrak or the Black Citadel, programmed with these great instances. It could fit in with lore if it was an Asura device akin to the SAB, and then Anet’s only real task would be balancing any rewards to be fitting to the time inputted to each path. Is this idea something people would like, or is it just me that misses these dungeons past?

Is it safe to use a hair styling kit on a sylvari right now? Will she keep her glow?

The wiki doesn’t show the bug as being an issue on the Self-Style Hair Kit, just on the Total Makeover Kit. I can’t find any reports of players having issues of glow disappearing when using the SSHK, only with the TMK.

I think because the TMK includes the option to adjust the glow and the SSHK only offers options for adjusting the character’s hair. I would expect using a SSHK to be alright and not have this issue.

Actually, mine broke when I used my permanent self style hair kit, and not a total makeover kit, but this has been fixed for months now. It should be fine, and I have personally changed my hair dozens of times lately and my glow is fine

Yea, this never used to happen to me, but since the last patch its been an intermittent problem for me. I’m not even epileptic and it made me nauseous :s

I think a good way to fix a lot of people’s issues with this -potentially- super rare mini would be to just remove the storage slot for it unless you actually have the mini. Then people who are lucky/rich enough to travel to the event and get one can have a crazy rare mini, and people who couldn’t don’t have to see a big grey hole telling them so.

Yep, checked the forge and they don’t show up, you can’t drag them out of your wallet, and there’s no item in the fractal lobby for them, so unless I am missing something huge we can’t use relics atm

Ok, I’m not seeing anyone else posting this so I’m gonna ask. Am I the only one who has had this bug without a party wipe? We did level 39, the only thing that went wrong was a person (me, oops) falling with the hammer, but it was recoverable without party wipe. We got to the seals, and boom. Killed one chanter whilst leaving the other alive (and targeted to prevent accidents) and more spawned. Killed those, and EVEN MORE spawned. It was like the sorcerer’s apprentice. We had to leave in the end on our third fractal. Not a single person was happy about that :|

I was logged into my support account, I wasn’t aware you could even put in a ticket without one.
The bug has now been fixed by mailing me a total makeover kit, I just came on to say thanks for helping talk me through it, I got so lost in what I was supposed to fill out where that I got a right state :P

Right, you see I read that, but additional response to me implied an original response that wasn’t automated, so I was waiting for a response still. Please forgive me not understanding all the information put in front of me. The reason I have so much time to play is because I have bad depression and anxiety issues, so when I am trying to fix things like this I get extremely confused and tearful. Can I get a lil help here? What am I supposed to do? I was told by two people (Gaile and a forum member) that the two month old glow bug page wasn’t the place to mention this, and that I should put in a ticket. I put in a ticket. That has now been shut with no fix or even a word as to why. Do I keep putting in tickets until they don’t randomly get shut? Do I carrying on posting on the forums like I have for 2 months? I’m getting more than a little fed up as I have been trying to chase up help for 2 months for a bug that could be fixed by you simply spawning me a total makeover kit. When this first started I thought ah well, its not that annoying, I’m sure they will get to me soon, Anet was great in gw1. Two months into this saga I am afraid to say I am rapidly losing faith in the customer services’ ability to fix the easiest of bugs.

I’m pretty sure it’s fixed for most people, so if you have a glow now, using a kit should be fine. My problem was that my glow vanished a while ago, you should be good.

Heya, I only just posted my first ticket as the way the support was laid out it looked like it was only for account issues such as hacked accounts or technical issues such as “I can’t log in”. On the advice from someone on the forum earlier I put in a ticket, but I wasn’t aware this was the way I was supposed to go about it. Number is 130527-000248. I put in 4 bug reports over the last 2 months, but I’m assuming there’s no number for those. I also posted lots here:

Thanks for any help you can provide, I really didn’t think that the support panel was for anything but serious log-in issues.

This was the Sylvari glow bug, where everyone who used a hair makeover kit in a specific time frame lost their glow. Most of the people got their glow back after an update, and a few more paid for total makeover kits to fix theirs. I still have no glow, and can’t afford to pay £3.50 to fix a bug. I broke it by using a permanent hair kit in the wrong timeframe, and am loathe to pay money for a total kit to fix what could have been caused by a gem store item in the first place. Thanks.

Ok, I’m just getting concerned that I am being ignored, as the last dev post on this bug stated it had been fixed, and I have not had a fix in 2 months :s

How long should I expect to wait from putting in a bug report for something non-account related? I ask as I have posted 4 in the last 2 months with a minimum of a week between each, and not heard anything back at all. Thanks.

That is the colour dye remover turns your armour, so as far as I can see thats working as intended.

I’ve had the same thing, but it was the same as Ok’s suggestion. Sometimes I have had to walk a lot further away/higher/lower than I should have done, but I have always managed to find it somewhere nearby in the end. Needs a fix yes, but it -should- be there somewhere.

Right, I have now been waiting probably around 7 weeks to hear anything at all about this. Is there any fix in the works? Is it being looked at? Should I start sending more tickets? I can’t see why this can’t be fixed, apparently just using a total makeover kit fixes the glow, but I can’t see how it’s fair to have to pay 10g of money (which I incidentally don’t have atm) just to fix a 2 month old bug. Some support, or at least a dev comment saying “we are looking at it” or anything would be great.

Sorry to bump this yet again, but I have been waiting around for over 6 weeks now with a non-glowing Sylvari, and had no response from my ticket (can’t remember if I have put in one or two now) or official response on the forums since “we fixed it”. Is this normal? Any chance of some form of update?

IDK if you were having trouble with any others, but that one, plus things like garlic butter sauce are discovered, then used to craft something that requires a recipe sheet from the frost and flame dungeon.
Editing for clarity, the items this is used for are Plate of Spicy Herbed Chicken and Bowl of Zesty Turnip Soup, both of which need recipe sheets to make.

Bah, these posts got me so hopeful I logged in and checked. Still no glow. Tried changing my hair a couple more times for good measure, nada. My sylvari cultural armour is glowing fine, but I am still as dull as I became a month ago.
Also The Warder, unless there has been some giant change without warning, all Sylvari glow at night, and only at night.

I have found a few times that I have wanted to have a backpack skin on one character after using it on another, for example using the Quaggan skin on one, then needing a fractal backpack instead. I was thinking it would be good if tradeable white/blue backpieces could be added so people could do the usual transmute to blue to account bind trick. It would make sense for Anet too, as you use two fine transmute stones this way.

What Kyo was saying is that it doesn’t matter if you put in soulbound or unsoulbound runes, the ones that come out can be either unsoulbound, or if you are unlucky and they are dungeon runes, soulbound. Seems you are just as unlucky as me

Really stupid question, but are you 100% sure you haven’t already got it unlocked, I thought it was an auto-unlock?

Yea, I had this happen once when I tried going around the outside of the camp instead of through it. I don’t remember the exact way I went to break it, but just try walking out a different way and that might be it. Sorry I am vague, it was a while ago

Silly question, idk about the Asura, but the necro at the top looks like he is wearing it to me, are you sure its not just largely hidden by your hair? This headpiece is teeny tiny leaves at the edges of your face and on my ele it was barely visible.

Just checked and no, neither her hair nor face glow in the mists.

I was with a group of people today and one of the was using a hair kit over and over on his Sylvari and his glow never vanished. I keep using mine and nothing happens. Does anyone know if a) there is going to be a fix at some point, or b) if there is any sort of workaround that fixes this? Getting tired of a dull Sylvari
