For WvW Discord lacks CCOMS amongst other things that TS has. There’s alot TS has under the hood that most never see/have to deal with which Discords ease of use just doesn’t cut it.

No one is forcing you to even bother with said items. Ignore them if you don’t want any part in them. Personally i do like to see any and all additions of GW1 added but that’s just me.

Any ideas and suggestions on what you do want in game, keep pushing them. Some eventually get considered.

Just have a Skritt burglar run toward the player screaming….“Stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff!…” then have it pick the player up screaming…“SHINY!..” while it runs away with the player.

Where is this large QoL you’re talking about ? I see minor changes, but nothing large.

Some of these fixes have been around since forever like that awful dodge roll bug.

Playing devil’s advocate but I think the reason they are releasing season 3 slower this time is to dedicate more resources to the next expansion. Hopefully that means the next expac will be bigger and better than HoT, but we’ll see.

So basically, we have to buy more story, they ain’t giving it to us for free. The Living Story is more like Amazon letting you read a chapter in a book to see if you want to buy it.

I sense sarcasm. However completely off-point. So long as you login while the season chapters are live you will unlock it free. No-matter how large or small the chapter segments will be. Naturally expansions & late comers to LS you will have to pay for.

As i said in an earlier post, this was more of a QoL update with some quality content dropped in. Later patches may have more guts in the raw content depot.

Time will tell on that but this was a welcome update. So far so good.

Perhaps now with a few bug fixes & features added in they can start building on a more solid foundation.

I see what you’re getting at. Harvesting tools having there own system, much like mail carriers.

However i can’t really see it happening with shared slots in the house. People have been asking for account-wide tools for awhile. Maybe, down the track we’ll get them. Maybe.

Anet…first off let’s not use the terms WVW Population or WVW Community. There is NO WVW Population. At any given time anyone can be in WVW just like all the other areas of the game. It’s a SERVER Population. The WVW Community is the vast number of players who want to play WVW. Let’s see who is voting in the POLLS. At spawn there are 2 ppl in the corner practicing their emotes, 3 by the Laurel vendor talking about Game of Thrones, then the 4 ppl crafting and the others zipping in and out to use the bank/trader and finally, you have the boat load of ppl who really dont play WVW or know too much about it. They just come in to get their dailies and are gone. Sometimes leaving at a bad time to let other ppl die in fights. I wonder how many ppl just bought the game and are voting and possibly changing the future of WVW for the rest of us after they leave the game to go play DOOM or any other title of the month. WVW has been in a downward spiral since HOT. You have no idea how many ppl you chased away by just perm contesting the wp’s in the home desert bls. That was a bonehead move! Your quick fixes after the fact seem lazy to me. This forced “merger” called being linked has not accomplished a thing. The week AFTER the spring update was great. I saw more ppl coming back talking up WVW and it was a pretty fun week. You didn’t give it enough time. Then came the linking, then came the q’s, then came the zerg/blob fighting on most maps. Not too many nails left to be driven into this WVW coffin. Hire a full time admin person, give them a computer with a survey email address. You have all our email addresses. Send out REAL surveys to ALL the ppl. Yeah you are gonna get some stupid responses but i’m pretty sure you are gonna get some constructive stuff also. Not everyone uses the forums. Not everyone responds to the polls. I even know some avid WVW players who knew nothing about the polls. If you are gonna Dictate what is good for us like the link/merge just do it. Our opinion’s won’t really matter. I hope all the ppl who voted to keep the linking are enjoying DOOM after they log out of GW2 after a mindless zerg/blobbing romp for 20 minutes.. You could have left the servers alone and intact by using a map limit number. You know exactly when to shut off miniatures. Why couldn’t you do this with players on a map, oh wait…that’s already being done? Well how about adjusting the numbers then? Anyone who didn’t like the play was always open to transfer, instead half of us ALL got transferred whether we liked it or not!

Will any change to “night” scoring unintentionally harm wvw during these hours? Any change to their participation will cause some percentage of players to not go into wvw at all, which will then impact the proposed threshold for night participation getting upgraded to the full day point per tick.

That’s the thing about the scoring, it should be done in a way that has nothing to do with time of day but rather more towards population at any given time.

I wouldn’t say you’d be hung by any drawbacks tbh if you’re not deleting it. Create your dopple, shift your gear over to it then maybe slap some dungeon or wvw gear on the old toon so you can still use it as a mule & park it on node clusters or w/e you fancy.

Could still be of use even though it’s not used often.

Ranger does perfectly well without druid spec & still fairs well in pretty much all content. I cleared HoT on my ranger without too many issues & played with him in the pvp leagues.

I fail to see your actual point other than you feeling ranger is subpar to other professions/specs.

They don’t need to be in the meta to be considered good.

This i have seen occasionally (mostly SW) but the players soon disappear with the Idle timer kicking in/or map closure.

From my understanding AFKing is more of breaking the good faith of the game intentionally.

Intentionally is standing in mobs you as a player know will die a large percentage of the time.

Unintentionally is standing clear or on the fringes of xyz goings on while you scurry to the toilet or get liquid within a small timeframe.

Questionable is the ones that involve waypoints. Many jump to a waypoint (myself included) to get out of mobs/events range, naturally so you don’t come back to a corpse right? Well as many know events contest a lot of waypoints & you aswell as others at the waypoint are certainly not safe most of the time. Some times you can come back to loot.

I’m curious whether the old school LDoA method could be implemented only in reverse instead of needing mobs to level off of you so you can gain your days worth of getting your body hack and slashed to death nth times have mobs level the longer you are there in place or per kill after a period.

This could be persistent for a period where ALL mobs no-matter where you go are scaled higher than usual. Killing them would be of no benefit to killing them as usual.

Maybe after a certain period Gaile’s Frog could spawn and eat the character like it would a fly to either kill the player(s) or kick them to character select.

In any case eventually the character(s) pets/minions and whatever else one has will just die a horrible death & you will end up with free xp to players ressing them without the need to nerf skills/traits/gear that really shouldn’t be.

This is actually very interesting data that anet should really look into rather than sugar coat xyz or sweep it all under the rug until it stinks so bad they can’t ignore it.

Population for WvW as a game mode is declining at a rapid rate generally as said above “on/off week behavior”. This is especially true in Sea of Sorrows case, Sometimes we compete well in T2 other times things seem up in the air. This is also seen in FA’s case at times.

Take last session where SoS fought SBI & CD. I imagine many thought it’d be better for the T3 servers & SoS’s fresh matchup however SoS lazily flattened the T3 servers just as bad as DB does resulting in essentially the same old match as always for the lower servers. [Insert T2 Server Name Here] curbstomping resolving nothing.

DB does deserve a few straight matches in T2 to allow the trio to get a feel for eachother & see whether DB can be consistent week to week. At this point i’d say server transfers are a bad idea unless you’re just moving a few guildies to the guilds homeworld. I can only see a change of pace & fresh faces for any server may be the only good thing to come out of all this but we shall see how anet fluffs around with this one.

There needs to be a solid system that players have less of an affect on matchups as in part the current state is in essence an effect from.

Needless to say reading above the current glicko system seems to be working as intended but not functioning as it should? Am i reading that right?

My guild has Further Exploration & sitting at level 45…probably 46 by the time you read this.

That’s a similar effect to non-HoT players accessing the arena. They can attack as they like but can’t be attacked

yeah, thats weird how some ppl can and others cant change the barrier status.

i cant see this being fixed for christmas, holidays and all. havnt even seen a reply post to anything about this problem. i guess most staff would be off for holidays.
Sad tho cause i know a lot of ppl wanted to use the arena for parts of guild holidays events.

While they do what they can, such policing would require too much workload hence why they give us these options. Namely the block feature.

It would promote blobbing even more as said above merely forcing combat locks you out of what you are trying to save/defend. Some servers would never get waypoints in the keeps anymore if it were like this.

This would only frustrate scouts/defenders even more than they are now.

When i saw the comparison, my first thought was why? Why compare NF CE with HoT? They’re COMPLETELY different.

Now if it were Guild Wars EoTN (Eye of the North) & HoT i’d understand.

I have played on SoS since launch & it has been a great server & has a bright future ahead. (Welcome back brutha! You know who you are.) Being a kiwi myself, i can’t say i regret SoS as my home server for me & my guild. It has been quite stable & solid throughout. Will be our home until the lights go out.

You have them, now, but will they still be there once your experience bar becomes the Mastery Training Bar?

It’s in the article, by content. Also these Masteries are for PvE. As i see it atm, in WvW the stock standard experience bar will be present.

It’s meant to deter people from transferring all over the show without to much thought or effort.

If you REALLY want to transfer, grind out that gold or suck it up and buy gems to do it. It’s not all that difficult. Albeit time consuming if saving gold.

I am having the most fun in SoS nowdays then ever before, now the server is almost like one big guild. We are helping each other flip temples, doing fractals on the community team speak with people from all different guilds. Working well with each other in WvW and the new guild events. Never been a better time to check us out.

I’m inclined to agree, i have noticed a good positive shift server-wide & i like it.

Which reminds me, i’m gonna have to bug the community for help with the guilds bounty, our scheduled runs have halted >,>

There are two options really:

1. Wait for us (SoS) to go away and pray we don’t come back.
2. Join us

I’m not trying to be a smart-aleck or show any disrespect for CD or SBI in this regard. It’s simply that we retained some of our NA WvW strength and we remain the unofficial Oceanic server.

I’m sure that if you’ve stayed with your server through the ups and downs, that you have a lot of server pride as we do; but the green spot of T4 will be filled with either a server with significant night presence (SoS, Maguuma, Kaineng) or with a large NA zerg like Yak’s Bend.

As far as option 1; you can either keep being frustrated for 1-2 more weeks until YB brings a whole new frustration to the game or you can roll over.

As for option 2; we are always welcoming to individual transferring players and even entire guilds who want to join our active community. We have regained our footing in WvW, without neglecting the desire for PvE and even SPvP.

Ball is in your court.

You should only really be trying to do the EB JP if we have control. Otherwise it’s just annoying without a team.

Yeah, i know, it’s just the time that she can get on, which may not be ideal given the time & within the realms of us owning the map, but, you’re in the JP to do just that, the JP then get back out into the battles as quickly as possible.

Yes you can fight in the JP’s in WvW but when you know that’s what people are trying to do or anything actually Vistas & whatnot, do you just go all out to stop them? Call me soft but i don’t. However i will defend myself if it turns into a lil skirmish of which i’m more than happy to snag a badge or die trying, either way it’s all good.

I’m actually enjoying the fact that the wife is getting into WvW, she enjoys it & i might add is going to upgrade her machine to handle it better & wanting me to do the same…hows that for being lucky? She’s a keeper.

I & the wife for a couple are in favour of the chests return despite the likelihood that they will not. As for us both we tend not to feel very well after a short time during SAB & for me thought the chests in the open world was nice knowing i can collect a few baubles here & there whilst out doing the usual things, it would also be an incentive for those that have not made it to Rata Sum to actually do so.

While i do like SAB as it brings back memories of the old days, i’d rather not push it due to my epilepsy which SAB seems to flare up.

Now that the PvE open world option is closed it just means the ones (like me) that don’t do SAB too often will have to buy skins off the trading post.

Let’s hope they drop in price

Your answer is simple (regarding the topic and the usual complaint), and has been said before.

WvW is part of the GW2 world. There are also points of interest in the Heart of The Mists lobby zone. Either you play the entire game, or you don’t complete the entire game.

I get the feeling you didn’t read the OP. He was asking for how to get map completion, not complaining about PvE’ers having to wvw.

Some people tend to read the title of the topic and not read the post.
