It’s about 7:30 pm in London right now. Where are your Euro forces (Iron?)?
Scootshoot, I think you need to take a break and log off the forums and maybe your computer entirely. Your posts make it look like you’re about to have a breakdown.
TC so close to BG, keep it up TC…… i know you guys can get 2nd place…….. Don’t forget all the guilds BG lured away with gold from you…..
WoW SoR rlly going there? Ok what guilds are you talking about? BTW your 2vs1 tactic didnt go unnoticed. Get TC to push BG more with no chance to win the matchup, while you push BG at the same time and try to get some extra points for SoR?
Sadly 2vs1 will never work with TC in the mix (no offence TC) but they’re not JQ and dont have the numbers to successfully 2vs1 all week. Can’t see TC falling for your tactic SoR, But you carry on trying to get TC on your side SoR while you take their stuff LOL
As I mentioned previously, its payback time. Enjoy the next 3 weeks being kittened up
The match is far from over, but it’s fun to look back at the first few pages of this thread at posts like the above.
There’s a teleporting blackgate omega golem in BGBL… Deeply saddened by the fact BG has to resort to such tactics to gain points.
+1
Yes, because all of Blackgate is involved with this. We bought this person’s game for them, installed their hacking software, and provide them with siege.
That’s sarcasm by the way. I felt the need to say that because logical and language skills are in short supply. BG leadership is aware of this and are trying to do something about it.
Don’t allow team swapping in hot joins. I thought that learning the ropes was part of the hot join scene. I tried to get back into the swing of things today by getting in on some hot joins to remember animations, objectives and how to play my class better. This isn’t really feasible due to the premade glory farming teams that appear to be prevalent in hot joins now. Please don’t allow people to join whichever side they wish. Make the engine determine which team people get to play on. Now to try solo queue and see if it’s being gamed just as badly as hotjoin…
Stay classy you SoR AC users. Enjoy BG Hills.
He’s using the build that allows you to fight only upleveled opponents or 80s with crappy gear and no food buffs, obviously.
Awww yeah! Thanks Bill. If this is indeed 100% fixed, you shall henceforth be named Bill the Bug Basher orTriple B for short.
I think it’s possible that they can’t figure out how to fix it. This isn’t something like a bugged trait or a bugged weapon skill. This affects every single necromancer outside structured pvp that gets downed. I hope they’re willing to go to drastic measures (like rerolling and regearing each necro with the problem that submits a ticket) rather than just give up.
No, it’s not fixed. I played my necromancer last night in wvw some and it is frustrating. I really want to play my necromancer as my main, but I refuse until this is fixed. I hate being angry when I die so incredibly fast after being downed. I’m amazed that other folks who play a lot of wvw with their necromancers can stomach it.
I think you are confusing your devs. I think it’s Jon Peters who plays the signet warrior.
Let’s all hope this makes the May 28 patch. Playing my mesmer again until at least this gets fixed. I’m tired of being frustrated with necromancer.
I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if the meta shifted and suddenly everyone’s crying about how Deathshroud is OP
Blaine I understand where you’re coming from with most of this post and appreciate that you want necros to stay positive, but this sort of statement really isn’t helpful. Why would you say that? Give me any supportable, rational reason to believe it might be the case.
Mesmers have nothing comparable to what DS 2 used to be.
Mesmers have nothing comparable to a ground targeted teleport?
Anybody know the state of the downed HP bug for non sPvP locations? Jon Peters said this was now an acknowledged bug, but there’s been no movement on it. Sorry to post about it here, but seems like this forum gets noticed more than the necro forum does.
I’m surprised you haven’t been using Plague up until now, its the skill to have in WvW for Necromancers because of its great control and high tankability.
With the right combination of skills you can end up poisoning, blinding, chilling, crippling, healing 2k health / sec with 20 seconds worth of retaliation
Any hints as to how one can gain 2,000 hps and 20 seconds of retal using plague?
Plague form would be more worthwhile if it increased condition damage instead of power.
No fix listed in today’s patch notes. I guess it was too quick to get it in.
I believe Chesire is close to why there was no action by ANet. We provided nothing but “hearsay” and corroborating statements, which is great, but no pictures or hard evidence were presented. snip
Actually, Targuil performed a more thorough test than what you did and documented the results in a spreadsheet. He posted an explanation and links to the spreadsheet in the bug forum.
Thanks for taking another look at this Jon. We really appreciate it.
I played sPvP this weekend only. I finished my daily sPvP this morning then went into WvW. I lost a 3v1 and was dead before my downed state bar even came up. Note that my sPvP and PvE gear are as similar as they can be. I don’t understand how someone testing this couldn’t just feel this was wrong. Wish I could talk to Powerr or Jon Peters about what they did to determine that nothing was wrong. Wouldn’t it be weird if there was some other factor involved here, like only necros of certain races have this problem? Don’t mean to muddy the waters, I just don’t understand how Powerr and Jon could come to what seems to be so obviously the wrong conclusion.
Jon Peters mentioned in response my question on a Twitch stream today that he and Powerr tested the downstate health in sPvP, Pve and WvW yesterday May 10th and they felt there was no bug with our downstate heath. That may be the end of the issue as far as ArenaNet is concerned.
Trying to keep this issue illuminated. I end up dying several times every day once I’m downed when otherwise I’d have a chance at getting up (I play in small wvw fights mostly). It’s beyond where I’m frustrated mostly to where I live with it. Still not happy about it, though.
Just not sure why they did not go to SoR
WM didn’t go to SoR because SoR players were sending them nasty messages or something along those lines.
As long there is no evidence of that, the post below makes more sense.
“Kryyg.8576
Let’s be honest, here’s what happened. WM/MEOW/etc transferred to BG and started fighting NA/OC/AZ timezone and got wrecked. Jang and co seeing they couldn’t compete changed their schedules and started logging in en masse for EU TZ which was dead for the other 2 servers.
Whatever may come out of Jang’s mouth, 2 things are clear: 1. WM isn’t in it for the “challenge”. and 2. They don’t have the chops for T1 combat.”I would only say, he that is good for making excuses is seldom good for anything else.
Actually there is evidence of that. WM’s GM posted that very thing on a thread in this forum. I assume that’s why Oxide said it.
No precedent? There are, in fact, posts from devs about class bugs. There certainly are precedents. Here’s one:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Bugs-and-Issues-Compilation/first#post115096
This is in reply to a thief bug summary thread and he even mentions a specific bug. There are others, but I’m not going to search them all out to prove my point.
Also I understand the second paragraph of your post. However, significant bugs for other classes HAVE gotten posts from developers. Ours (this at least, and it’s really the nastiest bug I’ve seen recently for necros) have not. I’ve died at least three times today because of this bug. It’s annoying and it’s not fair that we don’t get the same attention that some other classes seem to.
I’m not belittling anyone. I’m conveying my complete bafflement at the lack of redressment of this problem. I made no ad hominems, I didn’t call anyone an idiot, as you called me, or my actions, in your post preceding mine. I’m confused and annoyed at why this significant bug gets apparently ignored.
Acknowledgement or disavowal of the bug at least should be warranted. I understand being supportive of the game, but I can’t understand how you can defend the wall of silence we’ve gotten on this issue for what, a month? I don’t care if it’s so complex they would have to hire a team of expert coders to figure it out, just a word about the status of this would be much appreciated. I don’t understand how you defend this issue, Bhawb.
This is worthy of a hotfix. The only reasonable inference to make is that there is no team lead for necromancers and nobody is paying attention to us outside of sPvP.
Have we given up on this? Lesigh.
I thought about doing that. The bug doesn’t occur in sPvP though, and that’s why it hasn’t already been addressed, of course.
How do we communicate this issue to the game developers so they will see it? We are facing a wall of silence on their end and I have no idea how to break it. What can we do to get the seriousness of this issue across?
Guys we are feeling like we are less valuable customers. It’s hard to not feel this way when other classes’ serious bugs get addressed far more quickly. Something from the developers would really be appreciated.
I spectated a little bit in Jonathan Sharp’s custom arena yesterday. He was playing a necromancer. I hope he read map chat and realized what I meant when he went down and I said “John, enjoy your full hp in necro spvp downed state!”
Well the cool thing about the dot in warhammer was that it went away pretty fast once you stopped moving (that is, it didn’t last its full duration unless you moved the entire time). That allows for counter play. Really it’s a lot like confusion but with movement instead of skills being the trigger.
Boy I hope that 600 range idea isn’t accurate. It makes it worse than dagger 3.
I’m fairly certain that avoiding by juking or swerving is completely intentional. There are at least two types of missile attacks. One is the “dumb” missile that never changes directions once you fire it. The other is the “smart” missile (for example, DS1) that homes in on your target.
Shamans in warhammer also had a “dot” like this. This would actually fit into the idea of necromancers being hard to get away from.
Bull Zooker, do you have any tips for successful use of this skill? It feels like it works less than half the time for me in WvW. I typically want to use it to pull people who are fleeing. I’ll wait until after they dodge and are in range and then fire it. If they swerve a little while running, it misses. When I do land it, it seems to pull the person only part of the way back to me. Come to think of it, it only seems to pull them 100% of the way to me when neither of us is moving.
Added “downed” to thread title
Targuil, I understand why you feel the topic title is misleading, but it was formulated intentionally. I tried about 5 ways to put “downed state” into the topic while emphasizing the problem, but I kept running up against the character limit. Bas – I created a new thread because I felt like Targuil’s thread title was a little misleading itself. Someone could look at “Necromancer down state bugged?” and think any number of things, one of which, oh someone thinks there might be a bug. Targuil doesn’t think there is a bug, he knows there is one. Also, it’s not just a minor bug, but a major one, and that’s not identified in the thread title either.
I feel like this issue isn’t getting the attention it deserves. This is a big issue. Necromancer has only 1/3 (33%) of the hp pool of every other class in downed state. Targuil has done the research as shown in these threads:
This is a BIG DEAL. This bug exists in PvE and WvW, but NOT in sPVP. I am reposting this to try and ensure that the problem is noticed and corrected in a timely manner. If it was a quality of life thing or a tooltip error, I wouldn’t be trying to shine such a light on this issue, but it’s not, it’s a very important issue that puts necromancers at a disadvantage.
I am mostly a roaming WvW necro. I play in Tier 1 and got tired of my condition spam being cleansed, so I decided to try a power build. My power build feels like it’s much better against the type of thieves that you’re talking about. With the condi build, they just stealth and cleanse and come back. With a power burst build, I can take down some of these guys. I think it may be mostly that I surprise them though. I do die fairly easily but a lot of that is because I’m not very good yet.
I would say that using a staff, except possibly at the beginning of the fight to lay down marks, in a 1v1 vs. a thief is making life hard on you. Staff 1 projectile (all our projectiles actually) is very slow and silly. It’s more for zerg operations because it is a penetrating projectile.
EDIT: Just wanted to mention too that in pve/wvw (it is not there in sPvP) there is a bug that gives necromancers significantly less downed hp than other classes. Targuil has done research on it and posted in the necromancer and bug forums. So getting downed in WvW is almost a guaranteed loss.
(edited by Execrable.1064)
It would be great to get acknowledgement of this bug. It’s a pretty big one.
I have both classes to 80. You’re going to hate that staff 1 and lich 1 projectile speeds are so slow. Big change from the auto hit that sword 1 does and the autotrack that staff 1 does on mesmer. At least shroud 1 autotracks.
The fact you cannot argue it on balance is based on few things: snip
Don’t forget that probably the strongest argument that is not intentional and in place for balance reasons is that the bug does not exist in sPvP.
Please please please fix this. I play a lot of WvW and being downed is almost certain death due to this bug.
