What if conjures only had 1 charge but all spells were much more powerful and or reworked. Auto atts would be reworked to be stronger spell. this would give the elementalists a unique type of skill. It gives them access to a single choice of five powerful spells all related by the attunement of that weapon (fire e.g.) and the weapons theme (greatsword e.g.).
This would obviously require a rework in how the second conjure works, so u can’t double chain powerful spells are use 2 separate spells in great conjunction. Havent thought a whole lot on that.
I think this is a pretty unique concept for a class to have. The biggest thing is that this is a large change inn the current concept. That’s obvious. The real question is is this needed? Tbh most of the conjures have at least 2 good spells. Other utilities are only one spell obviously. So there are some benefits to the current conjures, in addition to their stat increase buff recently.
But they still aren’t as optimal as most utilities. Tbh I think they mainly need a change in concept and a rebalance\slight buff in power
they happen at the server reset or something
i got the 100 AP chest earlier today, and at 5:00 PDT i got the 500 AP chest
you have to log in before the next reset or whatever to get credit however i think. if you miss a window of opportunity it will set you back
earlier today we got the 100 AP chest, at 5:00 P.M. PDT we got the 500 AP chest
tomorrow we will get the 1000 AP chest and the first skin
every achievement minus the rallying or w/e, because that isnt out yet
i guested using devona’s rest and anvil rock, and was able to successfully complete everything
if Anet has to nerf us, which i really cant talk about, most of my experience is spvp and pve, i think they should only touch the healing on water 15 passive and arcane roll in passive
those are our best heals, as they are accessible every 10 seconds and will heal 3-4k with just the healing power from water bunkers have
just bug fix rtl from 1500 range to 1200 range (if it actually is going that far, im not sure) and see how that does
cleansin wave isnt the problem, its a 25s cd, cone of cold isnt either, its healing is pretty low.
mobility isnt the problem, warriors, thieves, rangers all have that. mesmers have portal, which is much better than rtl. just drop that and kite the fight away from it, then drop another far away for a massive range escape. they also have stealth, teleports, and clones
plenty of classes have escape mechanisms like eles
if we have to be nerfed, take a bit off water attune heal and water roll heal. if i need to heal, my first instinct is go to water attune and roll. if im using SoR i try not to use it, as the passive is better imo. ether renewal is also good for healing, but it can be interrupted and is longer cd then water attune
nerf those if anet is positive they are going to nerf us, bug fix things like lightning whip and fire grab, then start building up fire and air trait lines so we actually have decent offensive capabilities

the vast majority of eles i come across are D/D. Sometimes see staff, hardly ever scepter focus. They need to make more builds interesting/viable, and yes, they need to address D/D. When nearly every player uses it, its a good sign it just might be too good.

a good D/D wins 10/10 times over a good staff or any other weapon ele type
it isnt used because its op (whether it is or is not i wont argue here) its because nothing else is as good.
your theory is right in general but not for eles. D/D is the only truly viable build. thats why its the most common build. nothing else is good
you may not be able to. eles have good mobility/healing/bunker capabilities. other builds arent as good. their dps/burst and cc is pretty weak.
like you said, you dont lose, but you dont win.
use blink, sword/pistol for stun and root. possibly portal as above mentioned, altho its tough to get them to run in its direction.
id say GS also. cripple and cc with knockback and u do more dmg if he runs. match lightning flash with blink, RTL with sword 3 root (difficult), then just stay on him with w/e CC u got.
regardless of whether eles are or are not OP, i just wish they would make other trait lines (fire/air and a bit of earth) more viable, at the time they nerf bunker
we have one good build style really, has to be deep in water and arcana, 10 in air unless using a staff. the other weapons are only good for certain things like focus defending from trebs in WvW
d/d bunker has like 2 hard cc, one immobilize, and some slows. not a cc bot, not a burst/sustained dps like others. it has good mobility/heals/survivability.
dont make us unable to fulfill different roles without compensating.
then why not have both? personally i think it would be cool if people wanted flaming/dark/light arrow quivers just for looks. if they wanna spend the time and money on it why not? you can have your plain quiver, they can have their magic quiver
some of the female human faces look pretty aged/stressed

Gonna have to check that out…I’ve got 275k+ karma on my engy and nothing at all to spend it on. I haven’t been to Orr at all yet though so first I guess I have to figure out where to even get them…
you could also save it for legendary components. obsidian shards can be bought with karma and youll need them for legendaries
so basically weve heard 0/10/0/30/30, 0/15/0/25/30, 0/0/30/20/20, and one guy who goes glass cannon
all but one of these is still following the norm 0/10/0/30/30
lots in water and arcana. little in offense.
somebody who is good can easily beat a GC elementalist imo. compared to other GCs their dmg is sub-par and they naturally have low health and toughness. this makes it even riskier for less benefit
anybody can make claims on a forum. but in experience i dont see any GC ele builds accomplishing anything in SPvP or WvW. anything is viable in dungeons except higher level fractals, the real question is WvW and SPvP.
too much risk for too little gain compared to GC builds for other professions
in a skilled environment GC eles will lose almost all the time to another build
Do you know how many AoEs you mentioned aren’t AoEs per say? Is Greatsword autoattack AoE now?

currently elementalists are pigeon-holed into one build that involves 3 cantrips and 0/10/0/30/30
Anet said theyre troubled about bunker eles and are now nerfing aoe. 50%~ of our dmg

Yes, there are certain D/D builds that are very OP at the moment, but without doubt their heals will be nerfed.
To the people that are saying this requires a significant amount of skill, you are either click casting or have little to no experience in PvP.
yes and those builds have low dmg. they sacrifice that for being tough to kill or pin down
Most thief players wouldn’t be able to use a Ele as it requires waaaay more than 2 buttons!
But there is thikittentp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh5zjK7ITpQActually, it is quite easy to play a d/d elementalist. I would say it is easier to play than a s/d or even d/d thief.
You pretty much follow a set rotation like any other classes but here’s the kicker. You have 3 stun breaker and 1 of them is invulnerability (best stun breaker in the game). So, no matter how badly you kitten up, you can get out in plain sight.
Most of their attacks are 400-600 and aoe so it’s a lot easier to stay on top of your target vs 130 range on a thief.
Just like thief, GC d/d ele will insta gib you if you do not have a stun breaker.
Also, they can go outside a tower to fight w/o any recourse since they can just mist form thru the gate when down.
Both the thief and d/d ele are equally easy mode.
Actually, every class is easy to play. If you’re talking about a particular class’s performance in wvw or spvp, that’s a different story. Just because a class is underpowered, it doesn’t mean it is harder to play.

anybody can spec for dmg and spam 2 as a thief. or if you have half a brain f1 5 and 1 then spam 2. most bad players dont even get cantrips. i see more eles running 30 in fire and air with things like signet of air and arcane spells
glass cannon ele is also weaker than GC thief. Anet said theyre buffing ele dmg for a reason
this is a pretty good build that gives good survivability.
try it out. it has nice healing, and defense and good boons. you are an ele tho which means u have low base HP however
this was popularized by daphoenix. you can find the thread on the first page of these forums.
it focuses on survivability through good healing and lots of boons. its typically sued with increased boon duration to benefit from elemental attunement and zephyr’s auras
With the exception of perhaps a TPV – Sword/GS Warrior, every other profession must make sacrifices for their mobility. Utilities, weapon swaps, sub-par weapons, trait selections which all add up to a reduction in either : Healing, CC , Cleansing, Boons, Damage, or group utility.
The D/D build doesn’t … it literally has everything neatly packed into one build.Two things to do really : Nerf the build or buff every other profession to be able to do everything in one build as well. I’m game for the later , I’d love to see how that turned out.
the elementalist has to sacrifice a utility to get lightning flash. they have to attunement-switch (the ele version of weapon swap) to get RTL. they have to go into water for good condition removal, or sacrifice a damaging utility for cleansing flame.
if you want great healing youll need at least 15 in water and 30 in arcana for evasive arcana and the aoe water attune heal. many eles also get either a clerics amulet or jewel in spvp. or healing power on their gear etc in wvw. once again bunker eles usually dont have much health.
D/D has 2 hard CCs and 2 mediums (i count air3 as medium due to the small duration and stun length. but u could say its hard cc also). updraft is predictable, you jsut roll their RTL to you and will most likely dodge it. earthquake is quite visible as you jump up into the air for it. shocking aura is obviously very visible. the only thing you may not see too well is magnetic grasp, which is super buggy now. D/D has medium CC. and we cant get much cc from utilities. the only thing is earth signet or arcana 12 with arcane spells. which requires a trait and minimum of 1 utility. its not even hard cc and you wont be very survivable.
without deep water traits your cleansing takes a big hit. cleansing flame requires a utility slot and has a longer cool down.
they do have good boon management as it only requires 10 in arcana to get access to 4 separate boons when attuning.
group utility requires 30 in water, and 10 in air for maximum effect.
their damage is lacking however. Anet already said eles are getting a damage buff as its too low right now.
eles take one particular spec (0/10/0/30/30) with 3 cantrips 99% of the time. this happens to be the only real viable build currently. you might be able to beat random players who arent too skilled, but a good ele running 0 in arcana or 30 fire/air is almsot guaranteed to lose to an equally skilled player.
if you dont take this particular build the elementalist’s capabilities drastically fall. all these traits and utilities are strong due to their synergy. when you take part of it out, the build loses a lot of its power. other classes have an easier time distributing points and customizing their builds. eles are too dependent on an almost exact setup every time to function competitively.
anet has already said the elementalist should be the BEST class, when played very well . if eles are dominating too much now (which i dont think they are). the class needs to be made tougher. not weaker.
the elementalist was designed to be the best. but only when played with skill.
how Anet would make them tougher to use without nerfing them, i dont know. thats not my area.

they either closed the gap with leopard form as a norn, then canceled it, or got stealth from a smoke field/stealthing ability from some other class
hey guys what would be some good disciplines for thieves? i was thinking leather worker and perhaps weapon smith? i dont think pistol is my style so i ruled out huntsman.
