……
I mean….seriously?! Beautiful armors like these would look so GORGEOUS IN COMBAT and you put them as town clothes!!?!?!?!? WUT!!?!?!???!?!
Do you realize if you put these on the Gem Store as armor skins, how many people like myself would INSTA-BUY it? You realize how many 2,800 Gems would be spent in the next minute?
They are ABSOLUTELY what one would wear gloriously INTO BATTLE!
My pockets are so ready, but your business sense has to be ready, too, please!!!!!!…..

I wondered why the playing GW2 PvP today feels random and that my actions cannot change the outcomes if I did something wrong at the beginning~
Don’t want to be a jerk. But it’s likely ANet is going to ignore this thread like they did to most really important/non-whining thread.
I very, very much hope that ANet proves me wrong. TOTALLY
my friend never played GW2 before and when she watched the tournament she asked: “..so Guild Wars is basically wars between midget guilds?”
…………
Every time Courtyard pops up in the map pool it gets overwhelmingly the most votes and dada~~! Fun old school 5v5 begins.
Shows how people love Deathmatch. Besides, the map is so aesthetic.
Can we have some more like that? Maybe you bring Capricorn back and make the ship THE Deathmatch map, that would be awesome too.
Look at her
so radiant
so glorious
Look at me
I am glorious too
I want her—
—gears
But she wouldn’t talk to me
not now
not tomorrow not the next week
not the next month not the next year nor the next decade
NOT BLOODY EVER IN MY LIFE
and there’s nothing I can do about it
Guild Wars 3
Only way that can save the game now according to some people
SOOOOOO
for all we know Necromancer’s warhorn skill is basically about blowing a swarm of locusts out into the air using that horn.
Now, the amount of locusts generated by Warhorn #5 is huge. There is not enough space for so many locusts to live in the warhorn, so it would need to be
SOMEWHERE ELSE
from inside the mouth of the necromancer. Or some place deeper.
As deep as one’s imagination can go.
There, our necromancers have locusts that live inside their bodies.
Yuck.
On a 2nd thought, this is freaking genius.
Om nom nom.
:D

So, while or after you have watched this mode, I wonder what would be going on in your mind.
But this game mode is too good. So good that I cannot see it co-exist with the current Conquest maps in the same queue. It’s not because the builds designed in conquest are not going to work here. It’s not because the rules are too complex. It’s because this map—and this mode on the whole—-is what we have been waiting for. Not just the PvPers, but all Guild Wars players.
For an exclusive PvPer like me, this Battle on Champion’s Dusk is Legacy of the Foefire with truly active and diverse NPCs, plus the excitement on Battle of Kyhlo, the close-quarter-tension on Forest of Niflhel and the graphic level of Skyhammer. I don’t see it co-exist with any Conquest map in a queue because it is in its own right the reincarnation and combination of ALL Conquest maps. And if the rumors are right, this is just 1 among multiple Stronghold maps.
Stronghold is in my summary a PvP mode that possesses WvW elements but is on a 5v5 therefore on a comprehensive and competitive level, and even the most stubborn PvE players would love it. There is no stupid player separation with this mode. If you like or can tolerate the good old Conquest I do, your strategies can work here because whatever you did on Legacy of Foefire can be done here and work——and no more boring backcapping and guardian bunkering. If you like WvW then Stronghold is essentially your game shrunk into a much faster and smaller map, with much more decision making and an excitingly fast pace. If you’re a PvE there are summoning and killing NPCs and all kinds of people (such as Skritt and Tangu) you have come to know and love are present in Stronghold and builds that excel at killing A.I-controlled creatures can have an impact. Hell, these heroes you summon even got some background stories with them!
I hate to use League of Legends as an example but this is the Summoner’s Rift of Guild Wars 2. Any other existing map look like nothing but a simplified portion of this thing. I don’t know about you but there is no point for me to go back to Conquest once this mode is launched. Because in the old Conquest setting we have 2 choices: Bunker or Roamer (or turret engi~). Anything that fall outside these 2 are not encouraged and should go to PvE or WvW.
With Stronghold, this is the thing that unites all three player bases—-it is a PvP mode with the very spirit of Guild Wars 2: a bit of everything for everyone. Here’re my suggestions:
(1) Take down/remake the Conquest maps at HoT launch
Even if I have to play Champion’s Dusk all day long, so be it. But in my opinion most existing conquest maps have the potential to be remade and be reborn as a stronghold map. Take them down at launch, and let people focus and practice on the entirely new PvP experience which I can safely say makes Conquest look like pre-Alpha.
(2) Re-release remade Conquest maps as Stronghold, 1 at a season
-Legacy of Foefire is already quite close to this mode at the moment. Add in the portals to summon NPCs and some outer gates at the roads between far and home points.
-Battle of Kyhlo comes next in line. Expand the spawning location and merge it with the Trebuchet into one operational base. Put the NPCs summoning devices and Guild Lords there. Make several routes to the enemy base that can be opened/sealed by the NPCs or the Trebuchet (for example, a rock tower that collapses to seal the tunnel when hit by the treb. NPCs can then be deployed to reopen the tunnel.)
-Forest of Niflhel has this exciting opportunity for ambushes and rushes at the beach area already. Expand it by putting some more stuffs in that area. Maybe an outer gate that is more easily broken than the ones at the Keep. Svanir and Chieftain should be harder to kill now and should reward more strategically impactful buffs, such as the ability to summon forest creatures to storm the enemy gates once killed. Lower the altitude of spawning locations/bases so enemies can walk into them, put the Guild Lords there and replace the wooden doors with the portals/gates with the ones that resemble Legacy of Foefire
(3) Redesign the Leaderboards
The current leaderboard which tracks only the win/loss rate of players is too simple to be e-sports. Add in the league system which I am sure is already under development. Add in charts that track hero/NPC summoning on different Stronghold maps and Supply contribution——make it so that people reading the leaderboard can see how different ways of playing the same mode can lead the same victory/defeat.
There you go.
I have played some Solo Arena matches and after losing to some guys who strangely were on the same team for many games in a row……i came to this forum and saw some posts talking about sync-queing…
IS IT REALLY HAPPENING!?
Because honestly, ALL YOU NEED TO DO TO STOP SYNC-Q is put some code into the queue to put the 2 chromatically closest players in the queue on opposite teams
IT IS THAT EASY. WHY DIDNT YOU PATCH THIS?!
EVEN 10 years ago, when I was playing 2v2 even 4v4 in Warcraft 3…..or even in the very basic World of Warcraft battleground (casual, not ranked) THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. Hell it could not happen in any game that is serious about PVP at all…..
…I will still play PvP but i honestly think this sync-Q is sickeningly ridiculous……the fact it could even happen is…………disgusting…..
Woke up today in Heart of Mists
And wearily pretending
Will get better skins today
Rank Points and Chests, the game anew
I got up joining Solo Queue
So please let this glory grind proceed
And please don’t keep new skins away from me
And I will cherish every set you give
If you could please just hand in them to me
Oh oh oh
Fell on the way to grinding through
Collect the days of bad matches, so it’s better all the time
I don’t mind using cheesy builds
Alone and safe still in the Mists
So please let this glory grind proceed
And please don’t keep new skins away from me
And I will cherish every set you give
If you could please just hand in them to me
Oh oh oh
Heard ‘bout them rifts in Heart of Mists
One day, we’ll wear our skins to walk along Edge of the Mists
To Tyria’s broader and nicer PvE
Away and suave outside the Mists
So please let this glory grind proceed
And please don’t keep new skins away from me
And I will cherish every set you give
If you could please just hand in them to me
Oh oh oh
Keep trying. They changed it to an RNG log in system.
and new items in the Gem Store! You can now purchase Rich Login Coffer, in which there is a rare chance “Authentication to Login” be unlocked
mroe Sylvari. As of now, none of the PvP maps have such theme
(English is not my primary language so plz do not mind the strange grammars)
The developers seldom mention e-sports nowadays, likely due to the game being unready since launch. We saw that it was really messy when the game tried to launch an un-favored world cup with a broken condition meta and an angry community~
~but after the recent December 10th patch——
1. We now have a much bigger playerbase
-Internally more players of this game will actually play its PvP aspect
-Externally, it is much more proper now to advertise GW2 as a PvP-oriented game.
2. The latest balance patch has brought all 8 classes back to the game
-Build diversity is increased thanks to the rise of support builds and weapons that were under-used before (such as staff elementalists) are showing up
-Fairness is looking healthier than before
3. Spectator-ship is improving
-Spectator mode is well in place with much friendlier user interface
-On the field, visual clarity is much better with the LOD technology
4. The community can finally work with the developers. This is a good thing from both sides.
-The community always has wanted to help the game grow, and have constantly come up with great ideas
-The developers made the right choice by changing their attitudes. They have started listening and incorporating several demands from the players, even creating CDI for intensive communications. This will go a long way towards sustaining a bigger and growing playerbase in the future.
I think we are readier than before.
If you ask me what is the best thing I would like to see in 2014’s gaming world—-it’s Guild Wars 2 as an e-sport. After all, we did make it into Major League Gaming, didn’t we?
What do you think?
During the festivities, Logan malfunctions. It turns out he was a clockwork robot all this time: the highly advanced 108AN-bot. Thus explaining his wooden acting, lack of personality, and almost artificial obsession with Queen Jenna.
Due to a programming error 108an-bot goes haywire, and hugs Jenna to death (crushing all her bones and internal organs). Then we must all chase 108an-bot with pitchforks as he bravely runs away.
2 weeks later:
Event Divinity Politics
Queen Jennah has left the vacancy on the throne, 2 popular figures are running for the seat
Support either Anise or Lord Farren to rule Kryta
.
.
.
because Lord Farren is rich you know
maybe PvE to sPvP but no way sPvP to PvE
some of gears in spvp are way too easy to earn while the same appearance are very hard to get in real world.
I wouldn’t consider 60,000 Glory+60 gold through PvP “easy”
…I hope we get a DLC fixing this ending like Mass Effect 3 did with Extended Cut
“it is very hard to play perfectly, but very easy to play mindlessly”
there is no difference between top teams and hotjoin games. Every single player can appear “skillful” in this game because in fact, every class has an insanely OP side (including the eles) but the moment they meet their “counter-play” class they are dead
There is absolutely no way to “actively counterplay your active opponent”
the only thing you can do is to actively counterplay their passive traits
except, the way traits are balanced are so narrowed and cannot be put into 1 big picture that it’s just a RNG about “which class you run into”
mesmer is UP, yes, but they can still melt ANYONE excpet S/D thief in like 3 seconds if unchecked. The fact is that there is currently no way to spot what your opponents are going to do and prepare a strategy. There is no way to nail down counter-play or execute them
This very much reminds me of Mass Effect’s council member choice.
Do you choose Anderson, who has been your best friend and most loyal comrade, to be the councilor? Or do you choose Udina, a ruthless politician who would do anything to ensure his position?
It turned out that most players chose Anderson cos they trust him more. BUT later on in Mass Effect Udina still took over as Anderson must return to his frontline duties. Then we all find out Udina is the real bad guy and we must defeat him
The way ANet is currently writing Ellen Kiel and Evon is very similar to this. I would say, if the players “follow their heart”, not follow their brain, Ellen would win. But even then, her position as a LA leader would not be permanent because the evil Evon would eventually come back by doing something nasty.
(what can I say? He is an Ash Legion, after all~)
And now WITH ALL THAT SAID~
Screw the brain, screw the BLC discount and all the ruthless calculus about an Abbadon replicate.
This is not about calculations.
This is not about RNG boxes.
Hell, this is not about how much benefit you, as a voter, can get from the election.
This is about having a leader who knows the bitterness of war and brave leadership.
This is about a better tomorrow. And how much you can contribute to it by casting your vote.
I am following my heart.
VOTE FOR KIEL
ANet wants to promote E-sports, so they decide to keep making Living Story
LOGIC!!!
Flame, it does not have to be 8 path to each story part, it needs a LOT more
Not sure how many have played Dragon age (wont matter 1 or 2). Maybe even hell Mass Effect, or actually even Gw1.
—And thank you for the good feedback, i hope the devs keep on eye on this topic, and atleast mention something, sometime.
While I agree with you guys, I understand that expecting Guild Wars 2 to have a BioWare (I’ve played them all. ME1~3 and DA:O+DA 2) quality of story is TOTALLY DELUDED. This game has so much more to take care of, not just the single-player story. PvP, for one~
A complex branch like Dragon Age: Origins is impossible for Guild Wars 2, Dragon Age 2 would be something to look up to. It has a much clearer “2-sides” to it.
Or even Mass Effect 2 & 3, both of which had at least 2 very differentiated outcome at every turn (including the highly controversial ending of ME3, by the way~)
Currently, my choices in the story seem to have short-term effects at best, which make those choices unimportant. Endings are the same. Dead-or-Alive of major characters are the same. Not personal.
Originally, I really didn’t expect Guild Wars 2 to have branching storylines. I would be totally accepting if all races are given a linear storyline to follow, because this is a MMO, not a BioWare RPG.
But hey ANet, it was you who claimed this to be a personal story, in which my choices would shape the world around me. So, come on, keep your promises, and make it count
1. Personal Story
I am not asking for a Mass Effect quality of work, but if you gonna let me choose my bio at character creation then take sides between the 3 faction~at least make those choices matter in the mega story~no one like that bloody tree
2. Seperation of PvE/PvP gears
How in the world am I not allowed to bring my hard-earned PvP skins into PvE!?
3.World vs World
I am not a fan of turning this game in to clustercrap of large-scale zergers, however cool the idea may sound. Imagine how many resources could have been used to make sPvP fantastic had ANet not waste them on this….
4. Living Story
I HATE THEM. Why not use those efforts to continue the Personal Story? Everything before the pact and Trahearne is great…and All Is Vain
5. Seperation of PvP & Balance team
This game IS advertised as a PvP-oriented game!!!!! So how the bloody crap can you not let PvP designers balance the game!?!!? E-SPORTS!?!?!?
1. Too many shattering floors
-They are awesome cos they make creative positioning such as ranged units stepping on it beforehand to set up a firing ground, it also weakens melee classes too much.
-Keep the shattering floors on the Skyhammer room, but keep the ones near capping points unbreakable.
2. I’m okay with Skyhammer’s canon DPS but it should be dodgable. The canon is an important factor, yes, but should not be the only decisive one
3. I have said it and I will say it again.
BRING SKYHAMMER BACK TO TPVP.
YOU MUST BRING IT BACK or I swear this will be biggest waste of your creative talents ever, ANet!!
Ok look, I want to be honest.
Guild Wars 2 Player vs. Player is fun to play. It is the best at the moment but it is so underdeveloped when there is this giant monster called World vs. World.
World vs. World is fun and all. But if anything, it is killing every thing that could have been devoted to making PvP better in this game.
1. Designers
They are making Edge of the Mists, which is a very large WvW map. This new map is coming out this year. It took away designers that could have been deployed to make new PvP maps or improve existing ones (looks at Skyhammer)
Speaking of which, we’ve never heard about ANYTHING about new maps or upcoming game modes after Skyhammer. Are they being worked on, or the developers simply cannot do more than making empty promises saying “there will be new game modes” after 1.5 years of the game release?
2. Balance
I need to talk about the balance, but essentially a quick example~when PvP players complain about AoE being faceroll-strong WvW players whine about AoE not being strong enough to kill mindless zergs. HOW are you going to balance this game at all if people are completely asking for opposite balance changes???
3. Community focus
It is being taken away and distracted. Josh “Grouch” Davis is now being moved to the WvW forums as its new director.
I’m not saying it is a bad thing, yes alright, it is definitely a good thing for WvW crowds because Josh really knows how to improve this game. As you know, WvW has been even less improved than PvP. Players there are even less satisfied than we are.
WHY did this game have to make this WvW mode out of thin power is completely beyond me, but when one of our most talented community coordinator can no longer focus his attention on PvP——which is the soul of Guild Wars 2 e-sports~~~~I don’t know what future holds for us. Or if there can be any future. At all.
When there is so many other places to waste a HUGE amount of ArenaNet’s hard-earned money on~~Living Stories, World vs. World, Gem Store~~I don’t know how much could be left at all to even do any PvP stuffs.
We should feel really lucky they even bothered to add a new glory vendor on Dec. 10th, 2013….
Can someone please translate what happened in this round:
but guy at srat say ok gusy lisen plan
1 close 1 animal 1 far rest mid
ok ok i say i am mid coz far is noob
burt map say i am 1 mid rest animal no close no far
and i die hard lol
loostBut yeah overall this post made the entire Dec 10 patch seem insignificant XD
Translation:
“At the initial strategy phase of the game I joined, I presented the following plan to my fellow teammates: ‘Dear sirs, would one of you kindly cover the closest point, and then another person attack the nearest NPC type beast for the point bonus, and finally, would the rest of you accompany me to engage the enemy at the middle point?’However, to my distress, I found myself bereft of assistance when I went to the middle point and when I looked to find where my team was located, I found them all attacking the NPC beast. Not a single person had even decided to attempt in capturing either the point closest to our starting point, nor the farthest!
As a result of this ill fortune, I stood no chance to the overwhelming odds I faced as the enemy advanced upon my position, and I was struck down. Sadly, the game ended up as a loss."
First off, I’d like to thank you for your efforts in broadening the cultural horizons of our day-to-day forum goers. That said, I believe that much of the raw emotion that lives within the original narrative is lost in this translation.
While your version is much more accessible for the everyday reader, I truly hope that they become captivated by the thematic undercurrents and take the time to fully understand the piece in its original form.
Josh, I love you, bro xD
I think hating on Asura is not solving the root of this problem. They are~cute, you see.
What if, we can work on Asuran animations and make them more exaggerated/visually distinct than what they current are?
What about you give players the chance to see the enemies as the race they want?
To ban asura is one thing~I’ll stop defending them if you so desire.
But to make all races look human is entirely another thing.
Nullifying the racial choice of all other players just for your own convenience. Or I should say, nullifying those choices because you as a player have not the skill of reading and recognizing key skill animations.
What is the difference between this and making cheesy builds for players that cannot play competitively?
Is this what people would perceive as quality gameplay design?
I decide to get a hammer for mah warrior and name dat hammer Skyhammer just so people would feel trolled MOAR
Seems people can’t learn to play. Too many 1 v 1 s and 1 v 2s on maps like Spirit Watch and Skyhammer I guess. RIP the best of the maps. These secondary mechanics really change the games up. No longer can players just focus on holding points and killing players but have to actually fight off point over a cannon or an orb. These are the things that make the game interesting. Hopefully more valuable secondary mechanics can enter the game unlike kyhlo, forest, and foefire.
Exactly…..I never could understand why Spirit Watch was not brought back even after the Orb bug was fixed.
Now the tPvP map-pool is stuck with all the old maps. Except TotST….
Players like straightforward maps such as Kyhlo, I’m cool with that! But why position-heavy maps like Skyhammer need to be looked down upon like this!? This is nothing but brutes’ justice
ArenaNet has already decided the victor. Players aren’t actually voting for anything. It’s all a sham by ArenaNet to make players feel like they have an impact on the world and to get them to log as many game hours as possible. I can’t believe so many of you are falling for it.
So, who have ArenaNet decided will win then?
At this point, I would say Evon’s chance is big. ArenaNet gave the Abbadon fractual to him and now still seem to have a strong favorism over him.
They actually have created and supported threads promoting Evon!
As a WoW player, I am sensing a Horde Favorism 2.0
and it tastes…wrong. In a game that player choices matter (to an extent)
we’re getting a game that has actually changed its directions many times before even this expansion.
1. The time when it was heading for Conquest strictly and Temple of the Silent Storm, Spirit Watch and Skyhammer were all designed with the vision that this mode will be the long term rule.
2. The time when the devs realize class balance is actually the real issue and started trying to bring warrior and necromancers on par from being underpowered. Unfortunately they could only focus on this while people were also raging about Conquest was a boring mode etc.
3. The time when Custom Arena came out then Courtyard came out. By this time, PvP was already a sliver of what playerbase it had during the 2012 launch. And at this point, the PvP team talked about developing new PvP modes but for some strange reason they did not want to show it ‘until it’s done’. For players, we just feel the direction is utterly confused or nonexistent.
4. And now we know the new game mode is Stronghold. Again, the revelation came too slow. Many people already left. Whether the devs (not PRs like Josh because let’s be honest he is the guy that works the hardest and jokes the least around) are admitting their sloth or at least not trying hard enough to prove that they want a serious esport~~we will only see with HoT..
Warrior Greatsword meta for 2nd half of 2013:
1. Equip legendary Greatsword. The shinier the better
2. When meeting enemies, draw Greatsword and wait for his GPU to automatically overclock/overheat/explode
3. Cast 100-Blades. If using Legendary, the enemy should not be able to react at all
Result: Profit
well when you play certain classes like celestial rifle engineer and celestial ele there is less need to swap cos they are quite versatile. I am saying these are actually good builds~the balance should encourage more builds like these~better than zerkers and spammers etc etc.~I am ready to be flamed ^V^
so much negativity. you should just stop playing lol.
It saddens me greatly that you had to reply this way…but players are not to blame for this negativity.
A year ago (and almost a year before that), hosts of passionate players gathered and put together a very similar list like you here. There were even several CDI~~events in which that developers interacted with players to find solutions. People who wish to see GW2 PvP receive the glorious growth it deserves gave as many ideas as they could.
Those ideas were never implemented. At least, of now we are seeing no clear evidence that the ideas we contributed are being truly listened. At all.
And then there are the moderators, given the power of deleting posts and banning people from forums as they please…realistically. They go anywhere, silencing people who WANT to help this game grow before their voices can ever be heard by relevant minds up there. I and many you don’t see anymore are those who had been silenced, either permanently or temporarily. Luckily, mine was a temporary one, but not for long, I fear.
The moderators on Blizzard’s forums are vigil as will but NEVER have I seen a governing group as dictating as the moderators.
I LOVE THIS GAME. I TRULY DO. I would not be here if I don’t. Everyone here does. But we truly cannot help if just about everything sensitive we say are deleted/moved to trashcan before anyone can read them.
Alas, as I type these I realize your thread, though originally of good intention, might be deleted soon. I wish you luck. That the things you put together will at least be skimmed through by someone important enough to direct where the game goes before it is locked/deleted/banned …
…like many other threads whose only intention was to help the company.
Completely agree.
And why not have cast bars? It is proven that the best players can watch cast bars and the field at the same time. See GW1 as an example.
As the titles says~
With the recent balance patch, Necromancers have (definitely) become a viable choice in PvP. Warriors are coming back, though this is controversial
But what about Elementalists using staff? All the builds I saw today are either Scepter/Dagger or Dagger/Dagger. Where are the staff users?
Have you noticed that staff skills have been nerfed to the ground that nobody just want to use it anymore?
Because I am willing to pay that much just to play the way I like.
Hello there,
So I am a formerly-PvP-exclusive player who likes to explore, quest, slay monsters (and of course PvP) in style. And I would like to explain this idea I’m confident both NCSoft-ANet and us players would like.
What does Unlimited Cosmetics do?
Simple. For 30 days, any purchaser of Unlimited Cosmetics get to customize their characters’ looks with infinite access to the Gem-based services, namely:
1. Total Makeover Kit (originally 350 Gems)
2. Self-Style Hair Kit (250 Gems)
3. Transmutation Charges (600 Gems per 25 charges)
Why Unlimited Cosmetics?
Coming from PvP, I think I have experienced the best and worst of Guild Wars 2. We PvPers have enjoyed 1.5 years of free trait resets/0 repair costs/full customization of looks long before any PvEer does. It felt great.
Then Living World came and PvPers were practically ignored by updates most of the times. A conclusion I drew was that we PvPers hardly have to pay for anything we play. Once upon a time, we were really able to enjoy the full game of PvP (however unbalanced it might be) without using any Gem Store. Yet, with a little contribution to the machine, one can enjoy it even further.
Let’s just say the one thing I enjoyed the most in PvP was something that involved these unlimited access and customization of how I want to play my game, at a real money cost: Custom Arena. And you know what, I really loved it. That was the best purchase I’ve ever made from ArenaNet.
When I return to PvE after the April patch I discovered that this side of game is severely lacking everywhere unless you use the Gem Store from time to time. What’s worse, this Gem Store is dominated by rented stuffs. 1-time use and limited days of access to just about everything cool.
For example, when I am leveling up (most of my characters are somewhere near level 2), I need frequent transmutes, since I am constantly swapping out old gear for new ones every 5 levels my character needs to buy this whole set of 10 items (6 armors and 4 weapons) and then transmute them all to keep the look s/he has.
It costs 10 transmutation charges and really, feels like I am “renting” the look of my character as it is going to go away and needs re-purchase 5 levels later.
The more I level up, the more money I have to spend.
The more time I invest, the more money I lose.
It feels worse than renting. At least you get more from the stuffs you rent by using them more often.
Allow me to say that this company and its Korean overlords definitely want to make huge bucks off transmutation and many other services on the Gem Store.
It’s okay. We want a good game. A good game should come from a good company. A good company should make lots of money. But I don’t think THIS company is especially good at it.
Like I said, the PvE side is plagued by 1-time use services, limited days of access and non-revertible products. This kind if designs tend to drive customers away because they are 1-night-stands. Was the eye color off in that Total Makeover Kit? Too bad it is used up. BUY ANOTHER ONE. Need to check your bank very quickly from inside the dungeon? kitten the robot just expired an hour ago. PAY FOR A NEW ONE!
In PvP this would not be the case. Or it used to not be. If I make a mistake wearing the PvP armor I do not like, I just go ahead, salvage it, and attempt to build a new one. Eventually it will be correct.
Despite its amazing gameplay and beautiful art style, the game’s economy world gives you heart attacks like this one and often feels much worse than a rented game/MMO with subs.
So I offer this product idea of 30-day Unlimited Cosmetics, pricing at 1,600 Gems. If I have to rent, so be it. Because I will take an honest rent over losing money for my time investment in this game.
By applying this product, ArenaNet and NCSoft can make all the more money, while players like me get to play the way we like, and craft our characters at anytime, anywhere, with any mood, without needing to worry about paying extra money.

I’ve read all of the replies and all of the views and examples that have been given can be applied to new content that then stays in the game. Why must this content then be taken out of the game for any of these examples? Why can’t new content just be added to the Personal Story? Imagine if your personal story was on a limited time basis, Would that make it more immersive? Or more importantly would that imersion be worth excluding players that missed it in its timeframe?
Exactly this. The resource and time spent on developing such Living World could have secured a continued Personal Story. Now, it just seems that Personal Story is left to rot post Trahearne…….
Too late click is already mindlessly farming for 70
He won’t farm for 80 though.
Nearly 9 million rank points necessary…nobody will go for it.
why don’t they just remove those 50+ ranks? No sane people would continue playing just for that…
Replace the PvP Announcer with something that is much less annoying
which means…just about anything else
As a Traditional Chinese player, I’d like to point out the Chinese voice acting in this trailer is
VERY
BAD
like just bad. Period.
this new trailer is awesome ONLY if muted. I simply cannot understand why such an epic new piec needs to be ruined by the horrendous voices..

You should be able to get them WITHOUT being FORCED to play a style you don’t want.
PvP—just crap to me, but if you like it, enjoy and have fun.
You know, I actually play PvP to get these charges but then I realize maybe they set the rate we can get them so low that we will simply use our credit cards…
…In a world that competitors like Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft offer such services by consuming only a marginal amount of ingame gold…ArenaNet would be unwise to make these cosmetics so costly. Especially when the art design/cosmetics is one of the major reasons people still come back despite the game’s horrible state
Templar
+798 Healing Power
+569 Vitality
+569 Toughness
if any of the existing maps can be a e-sport choice~it would be:
1. Skyhammer
2. Temple of the Silent Storm
the strategies on all the rest are simply too linear to make matches fun to watch
Please tell me, ANet
(sorry I have to call you guys so many times. But the situation of PvP is so dire that i simply have to)….
WHYYYYYyyyy are you able to churn out amazing new finishers like this and charge us money on a monthly basis while not being able to make small balance hotfixs more often than a quarter-year?
Great game. Ground-breaking start. Very noble manifesto. Beautiful ambition.
Addictive PvP gameplay (regardless of balance)
Mediocre feedback-gathering. Laughable communication within the company.
Poor execution of patches following its glorious 2012 Q4. At some point, this game is barely recognizable as Guild Wars 2 because it has branched too far away from its predecessor.
This game is trying too hard to please EVERY type of RPG gamer: story-follower, PvP, casual player, PvE grinder, smart people, people with no-life~~~~ending up disappointing everyone
Title says it all.
Every time I look at Guild Wars 2’s graphic
Never before had I seen such beautiful craftsmanship from a western brand. I just can’t help thinking. Our game would be so perfect if it is totally voiced in ???
Just. Tell. Me. You. Would. Do. It.

Most Elementalist staff skills have a 1,200 range. How can this be!?
It should be 200 instead! NERF IT NOW

been looking forward to this!
i especially dislike how I just can’t deposit the Red dye I unlocked on my guardian and let my warrior withdraw it in HotM. To do this, i would have to go in and out of major cities for a total 4 times. Takes away the PvP feel, I’d say

Having literally insta-bought all 3 of them tonight, I just wanna say~grand.
Just grand design, these are. I can finally legitimately wear a Norn cultural in PvP
Keep more of them coming, ANet!
