Drops are pretty bad, but recently I started to pvp more since I finished my ascended rings (after weeks of stupid grind) and just this week I got two named exotics.
One worth 8g, the other worth 4g.
I have a love hate relationship with the headpiece since it makes me bald. If only they lowered the goggles and let my hair show I’d wear it all the time
Also, I really dislike the t3 staff so I just use the t2 staff and the scepter is [Emberglow], not cultural.
I had a warrior for 400 hours, wanted to go tron theme and was determined to get t3 heavy. Then I realized that Warriors make terrible Asura since they use no magic and so I stopped after buying just the shoulders. (I would buy the rest of the set if I could change him to gaurdian). Anyways, I have some old screenshots from when he was in t2 and looking nice but they’re on my laptop which I don’t want to get right now.
DH do you have nothing better to do? Jesus christ. Past 3 days I’ve had to skip getting my daily eb jp reward chests because there’s ALWAYS dh griefers just picking fights left and right.
Looks like everyone on DH is hostile.
Even in the other wvw maps there’s at least always 5 hostile dh players in the jp griefing. I think this is why they’re loosing, they spend their time griefing instead of helping their teams. And it’s not just low experienced players, it’s the hardcore players, people with full cultural and high end weapons.
You don’t know if it will be account bound or not. Besides, if more people have the account bound ones there will be less demand for the other ones anyways since they are the same.
What tonic are you talking about? The ones that you get from the toy frames (endless) are account bound.
They had to have nerfed it. Got Toy soldier on 2nd try, ventari on 3rd try, then logged out and downloaded patch, and now I’ve tried 15 times for doll and nada

Still have the 2 sup water, 2 maj water, 2 sup monk runes, with Precision/Condition/power jewels in the trinkets (since I was lacking crit and condition damage)
I didn’t put any healing in because I have 20k hp and healing scales very poorly (0.125 per point of healing)

I think putting 10 in fire would be good because currently the only thing i find useful is air v (create effect when switching attunement). With 30 points currently, I have arcane power at 75% and shield at 25%, but I don’t find those that useful

@OP, first you’re right about the symmetry. It’s known as the golden ratio and basically dictates what is attractive.
I believe the Asura, as others have mentioned value ears and foreheads as measurements of attractiveness. I would also assume that they factor in intelligence as well, as do I.
But why would ANet make legendaries tradable? It doesn’t do them any good. The more gold sinks that are in this game, the more profit ANet makes through gem store, and a legendary is the biggest gold sink of them all.
Also I don’t like the idea at all. Legendaries are already about RNG, and now if they’re tradable too, then there truly is nothing legendary about them. Similar to how I see every other chump have commander but suck at wvw and tactics
Since it has waaaay better stats than my exotic sword…well…the line between ingame currency and real money is starting to blur; and the design of the game is encouraging this.
I’m starting to feel very, very uncomfortable with the way this works. Either you spend a LOT of real money, or you grind your kitten off.
Again, if it was just a cool skin, I wouldn’t care. I’d actually spend a few years working towards it.

This is striking me as being very wrong, folks. I really feel like we’re being herded into that gem shop….
….and there are probably a few crazy people out there with that kind of real money who’ll spend it…and the rest of us are left with a horrendous grind.

How do I exactly go around converting t5 to t6 mats and so on? I have about 62 skillpoints staring at me from my warrior and I’m pretty strapped for cash.
Best way would be to go to a designated store and buy the gem cards. These are fixed rates so even when in game you’re paying more and more gold per gem daily, the cards stay at a rate printed on them. So buy the card, then buy a gem pack. Useless to convert gems to gold with the 30% tax.
The gems you buy with real $$ through the BLTP are also at a fixed rate. So why would you waste the time driving to a store to get a gem card?
2k gems for 23$ online while it’s $20 for 1.6k or $10 for 800 through BLTP
Luckily this has not happened to me, but your best bet is to be the one to start the dungeon. So if you get kicked, everyone else gets kicked out of that instance too. This will make them think twice before kicking you.

RNG is implemented poorly. You can have a newby lvl 45 who is probably playing the game for only a month get a recipe from AC after one run, while I, who has literally run AC >300 times, have not seen a single recipe drop. Time and skill should be rewarded, not luck.
With inflated prices now, it’s pretty hard to unlock all the dyes, probably would cost around 100g for all of them from scratch. I’m glad I got all mine before the prices were manipulated. With prices so high, the only feasible way is to be rich already, or buy gems (which is what ANet wants). Some people claim low dye drop rates, but I get at least 1 or 2 a day playing around 2-4 hours.
Introducing a middle man would be a waste. Who would want to waste their time trading items back and forth from players. What would they get in compensation? Money? If so, then they’d just be acting as a TP (with the tax).
Also, screenshots are always welcome, in case you want to shame the seller, but not really needed since if you report someone for scamming ANet can always go back and look at chat logs (dev confirmed this in one of my threads).
Yes it should be. I luckily got abyss on 2 characters, but now if I want it on my other alt, I have to drop like 34g or something rediculous. Also @ those people in TC, the TP is continent wide, not server bound.
@Shlamorel, I had this problem too on Anvil Rock. I’d say WTS in chat, and I’d get the same 2 noobs crying about how “it’s a scam etc., and why don’t I just use the TP”. Unfortunately, these kids didn’t understand basic math when I explained that I could sell for cheaper by using chat, they insisted that they didn’t want to hear anything. So I switched servers to Borlis Pass, and when I use WTS in map chat, and someone says why not use tp, I have people ACTUALLY DEFEND me. Granted, I try to do it only as often as people spam LFG for dungeons and fractals so no one minds. I’ve sold a few high priced halloween skins using this method already.
Buy a golem mini, there’s two types, one’s blue and one’s red I believe. I got the blue one for when it was around 20s, I think they’re sitting around 1g now. You can’t name them, but they follow you around and display your clan tag. Also, if you’re the shortest size asura, the golems are a little over half your height.
That’s how I felt. Warrior was my main and I had a ton of armor on him. But I still felt squishy in dungeons. I retraited and got PVT gear with healing trinkets but I felt a significant drop in damage and I was still getting owned in dungeons, I still needed at least another guardian in the group. Now I have an ele main and it’s much easier to sit in the back and contribute to the group.
I guess I just don’t know how to build a warrior though since everyone else seems to be having success with them.
It doesn’t imbalance the in game economy. Buying gems with real money puts money in the dev’s pockets, and introduces more gold. This lowers the value of gold. Then when people buy gems with gold to buy skins and the like, this takes gold out of the economy and raises it’s value/buying power. Also, gold is infinite, you can sell items to NPCs for gold. Also, adding in an option to turn gems into legal tender would have no benefit to the devs, it would only make it more profitable to be a gold seller (against TOS)
Seems really useless then, such a long cooldown and a pretty long channel time just to get people back up from downed state. I’d rather put on staff and pop some heals
Does glyph of renewal even work? On dungeons I can only seem to get it to work on npc but when I click on a downed teammate and use glyph of renewal with air attunement, nothing happens.
I don’t understand what you’re trying to argue. You said yourself, the conversion tax (30%) is to give them a profit. Every gold sink is aimed at giving ANet a profit. Since it’s a f2p game, they rely on their gem store. That’s why gold sinks exist, to remove gold from the game so you have to buy gems to either get the skins/dyes you want, or to get in game gold. 15% tp tax, t3 cultural armor, legendaries, ascended, named exotic weapons (such as weapons of the mists) all exist as gold sinks since gold is inifinite in the game.
Then people could actually make a living off this game. There’s already power traders that have thousands of gold.
Also, some people already do this, they’re called gold sellers. The gold selling companies have bots that farm gold, which the company then uses to manipulate the market and invest (such as at the beginning of the game when precursors were <100g) and then sells gold and items to players. OFC, this is all against TOS but it still happens.
Which is part of why I think Anet’s endorsing selling in-game currency for real money only legitimize the issue of gold-selling. They have effectively legalized the process, but only for themselves. The problem with the effect that has on the economy is that you can’t easily trace where all of the gold and gems are coming from or going to, so “illegal” gold-sellers are hard to pinpoint and remove.
But that’s another issue.
I think the gem store would be much improved if there was no conversion at all, rather than just from gems to gold (and back) or money to gems (but yet not back). It affects the prices of gold more than anything because it is the most abundant and easily obtainable (debatable) of the three.
Actually, through data mining, all they would have to do is see who is sending out large amounts of gold through mail (100g+) and then have someone employees manually check each account for bot activity. Also, it does help ANet, since there’s a 30% conversion rate meaning when you trade gems back to gold, you loose some gold. They do this because it’s the only way they make money right now (besides selling a few new copies and expansions in the future). Also, if you were to buy gold through 3rd party sellers, money would be the easiest to obtain out of the 3 (gems,gold, money) since a minimum paying job (8$ would buy you around 20g) which you cannot farm in an hour. All ANet really has to do is stop gold sellers and they’ll be rolling in dough.
Lol what, a lot of people say here that he’s burning himself out, but then they’re the same people who whined about no end game which resulted in the current gear treadmill that is Ascended. Also, there’s no way you can play something wrong, that makes no sense, that’s like when people said you’re holding the iPhone wrong. Devs themselves said this game is about how you want to play, that’s why there’s no holy trinity.
I think more of what the op is getting at is that there are still major bugs in the game. Instead of having bug fixes in AC, THE FIRST DUNGEON IN THE GAME, we get more events and content that no one really asked for so early in the game’s history.

Well the jumping puzzles are very easy once you get the hang of it. In the eternal battlegrounds puzzle, there are locations that stealth you, once you’re stealthed you just have to hurry. And a lot of times there are mesmers online that will help you get across through shortcuts with their portals. You can always do a shout out.
Also, I don’t believe in ceasefire, it’s a pvp map. I love killing enemies there, it makes the puzzle more challenging. If you’re there for tokens, make a bunch of thief alts to do the puzzle so you have your own stealth on top of the stealth provided by the puzzle.
There are different types of intelligence and thinking – some of these already stated:
Asura: Very much like a modern 21st century country that is dependent on electricity / telecommunications to survive. The Asura are very smart, but their culture is based on using magic power to supplement their work. Could the Asura society survive without magic or have they become so dependent on it that they would intellectually collapse without it? How intelligent are you if you are helpless in a blackout?
Charr: Reminds me of the Renaissance / Industrial Revolution. Charr society is the opposite of the Asura – devoid of magic (or electricity) and dependent on raw physical technology. If they could use magic to supplement their machines, could they invent bigger and better things than the Asura? How much is the Charr society holding itself back refusing to use the magic that is a part of their world?
Okay, but who is telling the Charr to hold back? It’s like the kids in school who used to say, oh yea I got a C on this test, but that’s because I didn’t study, I would’ve had an A if I studied. Isn’t it ignorant on their part to not embrace the magic and advance themselves. And who says that Charr could even harness magical power even if they tried?
