Bugged pretty much every single time I’ve done this (first time on each character), including 2 minutes ago.
Voted for 2 months – I won!
Keys or Aurillium generation is just too high then – Grand Chests have too high of rewards compared to pods/caches etc.
I do have a STRONG suggestion though: if you’re going to patch near daily reset, PLEASE just delay it until after daily reset.
Back up guys, go ahead and get your dailies
I’m now getting this after the “new build” was released a minute ago. I can’t log in anymore.
This sucks really really hard, I’m going to miss my dailies now.

3-4 times as well here since around 8-9PM EST, game and forum are unavailable for about 1-2 minutes. Not long enough to do a tracert to find out if there’s an issue down the pipe.
Other web services are unaffected from what I can tell.
I’m guessing it’s Level3 but I can’t confirm.
edit: It’s 100% Level3, I was able to complete a tracert this last outage (now happening every 30ish minutes) – it’s dying between Chicago and Dallas Level3 servers. I can’t find anything online about this issue yet though.

It’s currently the price of most of the new exotics – mostly because of the price of flax. It should come down a bit, but not to 1-5g range. Maybe 8g-ish
It cost me 10-15g per piece of Wanderer’s as well.
Still waiting on Bolt T3 – Anet is being very silent lately, I think major patches have slowed way down, maybe people put in for vacations for last 2 weeks?
100% signed – searched all over to even find a topic where others were struggling with this as well. Rune of Leadership – (wanted to try it on my Revenant) – is a pipe dream at 600 ore JUST for runes. 50-100 hours just to get runes (though we get lots of other loot)
seems ridiculous.
After all that time, you didn’t wiki search it and find that out? 400-500G is a lot to spend without researching the item first!

LS2 is optional content – boo hoo, ANET announced that if you didn’t log in during LS2 you’ll have to buy with gems. I feel no sympathy at this point.
Can you go back and play most temporary content in any other B2P games?
The expansion is $50, end of story. The base game is now worth $0.

I think they’re doing this just fine. We paid $60 ~3 years ago. We had the ability to play an MMO for no subscription for these years. We’re making out like bandits compared to a new player.
Agree, i used 20m to kill a late maw
few of people work on the late world boss make it terrible
Maw wasn’t doubled
Crits aren’t working on FE
…and strike a win for equality, everyone who disagrees are welcome to play any other game. Thank you ANET!
It’s just step one – they’re going to see how this goes, and if more adjustments are necessary they’ll make them. Next will probably be lowering burn efficiency.
And there are several topics on this— and there were when Black Wings were for sale. These items have limited time solely to induce fever for sale and then post-sale will increase interest in those that do not have them.
Sorry.
Necro staff has no arc, DS#1 has none, Lich form has none – all hit that Golem from the barrel, so it’s not that.
It’s stated as 1200 – but -
I cannot hit the Inquest Golem from the barrels – whereas my other classes with 1200 range can hit it.
Tried on two separate fights and I had to move in to get credit.
Simple fact is veteran players are being screwed. Joe Schmoe off the street who has never played the game before can walk in , pay $100 and have the entire game to explore. Me, I paid $60 for the game two years ago and now if I want the same perks as a brand new player its going to cost me $160. That sounds real fair to me. Its not like we are the players who built the game into what it is and made the expansion even possible or anything, right?
I figured the cost of the expansion would be around $40. For just the expansion. It never occurred to me that I would basically be subsidizing new players so that Anet could give them the base game for free, something I paid $60 for. I feel like I am being screwed. Its not about the money, I could buy the full $100 expansion for all 400 of my guild members and have pocket cash left over, its just offensive to me that they would not give me some preferential deal or treatment for being a “founding” player.
Did Joe Schmoe get the past 2 years of free gametime and all the memories you may have gotten? This isn’t an Apples to Apples comparison. Joe Schmoe missed out on Season 1 and has to pay for Season 2.
Hype! Begone naysayers!
Happy. We’re actually in playing the game and happy – the others are just the vocal minority.

Or, it could be that the expansion itself is $50, but in an attempt to attract new players the core game comes ‘free’ to them if they bought the expansion at the same price as the rest of us.
It’s a common marketing and economic tactic that works wonders, not a single quality MMO hasn’t done something like this before.
Do you believe the expansion is worth $50 though? Not to dismiss the work ANet put into it, but from everything we’ve seen it’s a mini expansion, it doesn’t offer nearly as much that every other quality MMO’s expansion does at this price point. The only thing that could justify this price is if the core game was bundled in with it at a 50%~75% discount or if ANet has been really coy and is actually including an entire continent in HoT to surprise us with.
I hope it’s the latter, because if it’s the former I have to really wonder if we’re going to be saddled with an extra account every time an expansion comes out.
That’s worth exploring – if you don’t think they’ve added enough to justify $50 then please do not purchase it. Perhaps closer to release we’ll know if $50 is the correct price – but doomsayers complaining about the ‘core game’ included as driving the price up are just deluded.

They’ve been pricing the core game at $10 many times the past year, they’re just valuing it at $0 for this instance.
PITCHFORKS!
No new character slot is the ONLY thing we can see being a problem here, everything else is just extreme crying – the price is where they feel the work is worth – if you don’t you’re not required to pay since you’ll be able to compete just fine with the base game.

Don’t buy it then guys. Nobody’s twisting your arm. If it doesn’t sell, you’ll see sales and get it cheaper down the line.

MMOs commonly include the base game with their Xpacs to get new customers. I’m not sure why there’s so much whining about this — we’ve enjoyed the base game with tons of free content for years.
Remember when new players got free skins etc with new copies and old players didn’t?
Yeah, they have to attract new players.
It will take 5 minutes… in 10 months. You’ll just have to wait. It might not even be back, there might be a new outfit next year.
Could we get access to our guild banks without having to switch representation? Perhaps just a selector on the side. (and also fix the stacking issues)
Thanks!

I love it when people use the “Tin Hat” response when an attorney has already weighed in on it.
If I want a Black Lion Key outside the nearly non-existent drop rate, the nerfed key farm, or from map completion, I’m safe to convert in-game gold to gems. Buying Gems with cash then spending them on the keys (or candies for Halloween) can net you jail time now for illegal gambling.
But hey, what does an attorney know?
And yes, they specified the Black Lion Key from the Gem Store and anything else that could be purchased in the Gem Store that can give you a random chance at something that can be considered valuable enough that a player could be tempted to sell for real money.
You do realize you could sell the Halloween Skins mentioned and the Permanent Hair Stylist Contract for $300 USD each and other players would pay it since it is a saving of around $50 USD in Gem purchases.
And before anyone mentions the Legendary Weapons, those do not come out of the BL Chests and they don’t come from a raffle that you can purchase “tickets” from the gem store.
It is not gambling unless it’s sold for real money. That’s the defacto truth, all of your “coulds” hold no weight, regardless of however you’re spinning “attorney” speculations.
How in any way would a County/State office see or care that you played a video game, entered a raffle that accepts virtual items, and gives out a virtual item as a reward? It’s a video game.
You seem to forget, that (due to Second Life, and WoW account sellers) there was at some time serious push to make all the virtual income taxable by the state. Yes, in US. IRS was really serious about that. It fell through, of course, but it wasn’t because “it was a video game”. Technically, a slot machine can be also considered to be “only a game”.
In this state, if there is no skill involved, it is a game of chance that you paid real money for. Already had an attorney in the area clarify what in the Gem store would constitute to illegal gambling and I avoid them unless I convert in-game gold to gems for it.
And thanks for reminding everyone about the IRS trying that stunt.
Yes, it is entirely possible you could be in trouble IF you sold in game items/gold for fiat. If you did not, there’s no possible way it is gambling. None.

I like no tail!
Yup, with a skin, they’d have to make 1 for each armor class, then make sure each piece for each armor class doesn’t clip with any of the other hundreds of skins already in the game.
We get it. We know some of you want skins and only skins. There’s plenty of us that actually prefer outfits though, for the numerous reasons listed.

Both times I’ve attempted Teq since the new patch were successful, so you must have been doing something wrong. Were you not guesting to Blackgate?
Now that it’s Megaserver’d though, yeah I can agree it might need a nerf. If Triple Threat gets Megaserver’d it may get killed once a month!
Yup, it’s doing that.
Earlier the Megadestroyer event didn’t spawn the Asuras for the laser, and just now Taidha did not go inside the ship, instead – we took her to 1hp and just blasted on her for 5 minutes before she eventually died.

100 at the 10 mark, 300 at the 20 mark, 600 at the 30 mark, 900 at the 40 mark.
I’ve been guesting on Blackgate, and they seem to get it almost every time I’m in there. I’ve opened about 60+ Ultimate bags. The trick to getting main server is logging off right at :50 when you get your bonus bags. Then a little after :05 log back in, you’ll be in the main server before the Aetherblade event is done.
I can’t see why adding this would negatively affect anything. Great suggestion.

While Symbol of Swiftness change is nice.. atleast it had a +1 second recharge on swiftness ability now it’s better.. Mesmer’s temportal curtain hasn’t been touched.. doesn’t add swiftness if the player already has swiftness, it’s quite annoying at times when that happens in zergs or champion runs or even dungeons.. it’s like a wasted skill when the player gets swiftness right about the time he puts down a temporal curtain
This would be a welcome change, to add to your swiftness timer, since swiftness is supposed to stack, every other buff stacks either intensity or duration, but the ground effect swiftness doesn’t? It just does not make sense. Nerf it a bit if you’re already over 12s swiftness, if you don’t want too big of stacks, I guess.
The real question here is, how the heck did you start ‘Sweet Friend’ without speaking to Tassi in Black Citadel the first time?
I am currently a pretty active player, since my WoW guild died off – I’ve been playing since early beta. I came to JQ because it was a main server for old DAoC refugees, and I had planned on playing a lot of WvW, but currently that is difficult without being guilded.
-Past experience with UO, DAoC, WAR and WoW mainly.
-Mature for the most part, being 31 y/o
-I work as tech support from home, so I can be on in game usually between 5PM and 4AM EST, though 5-10 I can get busy.
-Currently have a decked out 80 necro with condi and pow gear, also an 80 Warrior I can work with. Also working on 6 others, slowly.
I’m looking for a semi-large guild if possible, where there’s always a group wanting to do things, but something casual that can get harder-core when needed. The part I loved about my WoW guild is that most of us live in Mid-Mich and still get together for parties, and are friends on FB/Steam. Not expecting miracles in this regard though.
Contact here or Hulk in game.
Additional skins are available in the achievement pane….
Adding to this, if you want to see an active starter zone, try Queensdale. It’s known as Queensdaily as many of us use it to do our daily achievements. Not sure what it’s like on Stormbluff, but Jade Quarry is usually extremely packed.
