I am giving DB a bad reputation. How exactly does staying behind and fighting with out-manned buff give my server a bad reputation? I killed so many people over the weekend and majority of those kills were 3orb SoS players who couldn’t PvP if there life depended on it. I clearly said in previous posts that these transfers gave me a shot to play them and see what they are made of. After fighting them a lot of questions were answered for example why we lost to Crystal Desert and Blackgate. Do you realize how easy it is to PvP with 3 orb buffs? Even while holding the buffs you guys were so incredibly easy to kill. I played on Maguuma borderlands over the weekend. Constantly prevented SoS zergs from capturing supply bases and solo prevented them from capping it for over 15min at a time till Magnuuma showed up and slaughtered the SoS zerg cause you peeps were to newb to AOE the circle. Y’all are clearly mistaken if you think you will move up a tier. So ya I am ruining DB’s reputation? Kinda funny cause I remember the guilds who transfered off DB being MIA every week on Wednesday and Thursday when were losing while people like me are in WvW fighting no matter what. I am pretty much the only DB player running around Maguuma borderlands over the weekend and even Maguuma knew this cause after awhile they saw me so much they stopped attacking me. Loyalty and refusing to quit are some bad traits that will surely give DB a bad reputation. I should just transfer huh? Then I can be good!

If you transfer because your incapable of making a impact on the server you picked when the game is released chances are you were not good enough to make a impact in the first place. So far the transfers we are currently playing against have lived up to my theory. I’ll have a video at the end of the week for people to enjoy once I’m done collecting funny moments.

If these Dragonbrand transfers have taught us anything it is …. the fact they are just plain terrible no wonder we didn’t beat Blackgate. Been playing against Tsym, Atac, Nex all weekend while you have all 3 orbs are y’all are pretty disappointing in the pvp department, even with the oceanic presence you will never reach tier 1 and you will learn this shortly. Never had such a easy time killing 3orb 80’s till this week’s match up. Kinda nice to play versus people who were once on your server answers a lot of questions.

I’m that guy currently in Maguuma borderlands /laughing at all the SoS corpses who cant pvp with a 3 orb buff.

Dragonbrand peeps the real true players the ones that don’t need to be carried by transfers just dig in, its only a week and you will get your satisfaction when they get destroyed by higher tiers of equal amounts of players, for now just enjoy killing these guys who were on our server and have fun.

With 3orb buff a thief could easily solo 5. You add a Mesmer and a Guardian to that mix and you better not lose to 9 player who are not even all 80…

Also looks like your using a similar spec to the WvW spec I posted long time ago as well with a minor change.

Kinda looked more like it’s you that were calling your server quitters. He said he continued to fight against people after the weekend that you claimed had all the effort in it.

Our server left/transferred during the Blackgate match up. If we had the same population as before it would of been a landslide victory just like it was before when we fought. This entire week has been a fight vs a half dead Dragonbrand server with the “night crew” as people like to call it scoring pretty much a large majority of Dragonbrand’s points. So ya Dragonbrand never showed up for this weeks match and we do not belong in the current tier we are after so many leaving. I don’t need to showboat false victory’s or achievements on the forums even when we win. Cause most people actually know what is really going on in WvW. Server’s don’t magically regress for nothing /Cough HoD. Population leaves you get beat. It’s old news.

Zoula what I said is Friday and Saturday was the only nights people even bothered to show up. Dragonbrand normally has 15min-3hour queue times. We have had instant queues from last Thursday till now. Even on Friday an Saturday of this new match up we had 15min queue times. Every other day instant queues. Even instant queues on eternal battleground. It doesn’t really matter who wins or loses. Which is obvious cause I have never once started a thread about how “Pro” Dragonbrand is cause it’s just a ignorant statement. But I don’t run around an claim that we magically get better because of our persistence. So let’s be real please TC was in the lead on Friday for awhile which proves you have a decent population you fought versus other servers peak times and managed to take a lead. Night crews carried us through the weekend and DB was non existent pretty much all day everyday after that. This coming from my perspective which was rarely even seeing a ally on the map and commanders were lucky to been seen one time a day. Anyways, it does not even matter anyway don’t know why I even bother replying WvW is far from competitive in it’s current state. GL to you next week.

“Skill” is probably a misnomer. Some degree of strategy is involved, even if it is just organizing commanders to cover specific zones. Some servers have even drawn up certain conditional plans. I believe DB tried this one, something like an “If X than Y” sort of thing but I might be getting the server wrong.

Now, by no means will I suggest that is the ONLY thing that wins a match but forethought and also the ability to think in the moment matters. But you’re right, numbers do too. TC’s had people transfer to SoS. Sorrow’s seems to be the place where people who don’t want to just transfer to transfer to a T1 server are congregating in the hopes to make one. Which they very well might do.

So, if what people are saying is true, I wouldn’t doubt that DB was affected by a population issue (which is also a morale issue) but there’s other aspects to it that to ignore would be disingenuous, I think. Otherwise, we wouldn’t be hearing talks about implicit collusion or as many justifications for end of the match slippage.

Now, again, I’m sure it was a lot of things. And that some TC folks will probably make this out to be something that was just about how great they were or whatever. But I’m also confident that there were more factors than, say, this or that and that and this single reason.

Heck, to deny that Dragonbrand played well would be a lie as well. I think everyone played well. And I think this has been, possibly, my favorite match yet.

If Dragonbrand showing up for 1 1/2days(Half of Friday and a full day on Saturday) is the best weeks match you have had that really sucks. Myself being on Dragonbrand have been in countless weeks where it was a non stop battle.. but this week was clearly not one of them. Dragonbrand is a no show. You basically played against random pugs/night crew peeps an that’s it. We are currently at the lowest amount of WvW players from release date till now hardly a “battle”.

Just like to point out a lot of the above posts like to twist things around and say we are winning cause we pull together an fight.. we are winning cause we never quit and we struggle to keep fighting. Dragonbrand got crushed cause like 60% of the population left. Out manned buffs on the weekends.. Instant queues 24/7 no commanders running around anymore. Sorry but if any of you are playing to get some sort of revenge the server your looking to beat left a long time ago.

After the mass transfer to Blackgate that gave them the win. Majority of WvW players from Dragonbrand packed up and moved servers. I am sure Dragonbrand will get bumped down another two tiers its a ghost town. But please stop pretending that there is something other then population inside WvW that decides who wins it’s getting old and to many people ignore the real facts. People transfer to HoD they have insane queues they win, people transfer to JQ they get insane queues they win, It’s not skill in WvW no matter how many times people post it.. Population is #1 factor.

Why are we even discussing WvW strategy or “goals” ?
Half of every server is a transfer, all the orbs get hacked back and forth and populations change drastically. In fact because of transfers you cant even tell if your server is even getting better or just getting more people. It’s all just speculation and opinions not facts. Just beating a dead cat. Every server does it. An well its just plain pointless. Dragonbrand went from always 20min-3hour queue times the match up before this to instant queues forever. What are people basing these victory’s on? The populations are moving around. Your never playing the same server twice. People have no idea what’s going on with other servers just all speculations.

Who really cares who wins and who loses? WvW should be renamed Transfer vs Transfer vs Transfer. Lol, Half the people you play with change per week.

Sounds like the rendering issue that happened after Oct 7th.. Seriously doubt hes using hacks to go invisible. In fact there’s a giant thread about it currently on the forums might want to check it out.

Dragonbrand has been instant queues from Wednesday night of the match up against Blackgate. You’ll never see any server stability in rankings to many transfers happening in this game. I actually like it this way though, This is the first time I didn’t have to wait in queue at all entire week not even on the weekend.

Lets put it this way i’m a thief with 25% movement signet and bow teleport so i am not slow… and the orb went right over me and i never even seen it once and it didn’t stop for the keep wall it just went right on over it to the alter.

Remove orbs or fix the cheats. Getting old. 5min Ago Crystal Desert just hacked the orb on dragonbrand borderlands. How long is this going to stay in the game arena.net?

Just teleports you back in forth within the starting base if you walk down the road. Sometimes the load screen freezes and you have to leave WvW. Fix this please.

Actually, you can steal to places above you. As long as your able to get to that location without using the jump button. AKA if you steal someone capping watch tower it will work cause it has stairs to the side of it that let you walk up to him. Without stairs that steal would fail to shadowstep.

It’s a non issue cause instant killing people is weak few an far between(long CD) and makes you the weakest class in the game to even bring those traits/utilities into combat.

Just cause you cant see his pixels doesn’t mean you cant tab to him an start hitting him. I am a thief and I fight other thieves. I have no problem attacking them while they are invis from culling. Just tab target and stop depending on your pixels and watch your UI. It’s a known issue that hasn’t been fixed yet… time to adapt.

D/D is more then just Heartseeker spam. HS is just a gap closer and a execute. You always throw dancing daggers when people stand next to each other for 4 hits. If your immobilized you can avoid burst by pressing 3.. you can still do the attack even though you cannot move and avoid damage. Cloak and dagger is bread and butter good thieves stealth a lot it’s your survivability. There are a lot of really bad players currently pvping who will say your a HS spammer when you killed them and only pressed 2 once. After the nerf to HS anyone who dies to those really bad thieves who just press 2… well those players who die are even worse then the thief is…

Bad build, use a real build an you can get more then 1 kill per 45seconds. Besides with that spec you are the easiest player in the entire game to kill.

Another thing that needs to be addressed is the fact that free transfers are making the situation worse. The average gamer will take advantage of every little exploit or advantage they can get there hands on(Karma weapons perfect example). Players will transfer to winning sides, better servers and proclaim all of a sudden they are champion’s of PvP. So how can you expect players to govern themselves when they flock to exploits and would rather wait in 5 hour queues then get instant ques. These are the same players who value showboating more then actually logging into a WvW match to make a difference. Kaineng is a perfect example of players unwillingness to give up advantages for more playtime.

If your player base is unwilling to correct the imbalance on their own then it’s time for you to do it yourselves arena.net. Current server populations are a joke and only continue to get worse due to advertised WvW rankings and free transfers. Majority of servers get steamrolled by servers using handicaps to annihilate them and players would rather transfer then wait out a boring 3-4 days of PvP. In the end it only makes servers more messed then they already are.

So seriously stop labeling the issue “night capping” wither your for it or against it the issue has nothing to do with night time. The real issue is no team oriented game can be remotely taken seriously with such huge differentials, handicaps, advantages and poor sportsmanship.

I see a lot of posts about “night capping” and even one created by the mods. But that is a incorrect label for the true issue that was brought up. Let’s start out with the fact that night capping does not exist WvW is a 24 hour “war” as Arena.Net has stated themselves there is no “night” in something that is 24/7 seven days a week. Which is a great feature it’s available to everyone at all hours anytime.

The real issue people want a competitive game mode. It does not matter if your playing in France, Germany, America, Brazil, Australia or Mexico. Everyone should have the same fun gaming experience. Everyone wants the large scale wars where teams are pushing each other back and forth and struggling for every bit of land they capture on the map. Why does it matter what time you play? It makes no difference if you play at 4 pm or 4 am. What does matter though.. is being seriously outnumbered. Why would you allow one team to be outnumbered 100 to 15 there is nothing competitive about that and anyone who disagrees should be ashamed of themselves.

There is no glory, no reputation, no credit, no skill and most of all no point in taking a game serious that allows teams to be 50 vs 5. WvW is the only game mode in GW2 that allows handicaps. Which is okay i’m fine with that but how many advantages is to many? We currently have the following ways to create a advantage over other players:
Leveling , Gear , Money , Population , Orbs

How many more do people need? From a competitive point of view games should be won on skill alone which first person shooters do perfectly and MMO’s are still struggling to do. GW2 advertised this game as being skill based but handicaps do not follow in the footsteps of a skill based game. Should they nerf them? Not for us to decide. Should we pay attention to what people say? Absolutely.

If your PvPing to seek glory, fame, reputation or just looking for some competition you can not ever gain respect for winning from a handicap. So many people are currently trolling on the forums about their “accomplishments” at being first place or second place. But no one really cares because they know they have not really even been defeated. Just cause your server is in first place does not mean your a pro PvPer I can promise you there are players who are very skilled on all servers better then people on even the first place servers currently.

So how do we make WvW a game mode where people can finally respect the 1st place server? What do we do to make WvW more competitive? Making the PvP more skill based does not have anything to do with dumbing the game down in fact it’s the opposite. A lot of people on the forums are saying there is nothing wrong with WvW and that people just need to recruit for their own servers.

Well I don’t know if you have noticed but your server is not your guild. Forums are not part of the game and you are a minority of the gaming population using these forums. Majority of players do not even touch these forums. Forum politics is not actually playing the game no matter how many ways you twist it and try to argue that it is part of the game it is not.

People leaving the game is bad news for everyone. Winners or losers if people leave we have nobody to play against and that is very bad news for everyone. So no matter how elistest people want to be everyone needs to be happy to sustain a large player base and keep this game at a healthy amount of players. Continued-

Unfortunately life is not black and white. Those are just your opinion on the topic. Myself personally I would rather keep things competitive rather then keep handicaps and advantages in pvp. Already have enough ways to gain the upper hand in WvW(Levels,Gear,Population). The more advantages/handicaps are allowed in a game mode reduce the value of having the individual player skill to compete. But this is also just a opinion based purely on very competitive ideals.

Trolllolol, Been fighting 3 orb BG all day after I got home from work yesterday and will do same when I leave at 3pm. The way I see it fighting yall with 3orbs almost makes it fair.. for you. :P

If you would like to do what the this topic is talking about this is how:

Attack a thief and tell your pet to attack. When he goes stealth to run away your pet will stop attacking him. But just spam F1 which is pet attack soon as he comes out of stealth no matter where on the map he is your pet will go find him. It’s pretty funny. Just make sure you don’t target or attack anyone else or the F1 won’t work on the thief.

She doesn’t take pvp serious shes just a casual player. But she did own some people with 3 orb buff that was funny.

Actually she is mostly just farming to craft a legendary.

WvW is full of Kitten Talkers, Transfers, Gloating and poor sportsmanship. I am from DB and I think it’s just so funny how all the smack talkers on the forums from our server are now MIA cause BG got some transfers and took the lead. Where are all the “Pro” guilds who were so happily posting on forums while in the lead?

Anyways, I was in FA borderlands yesterday. Win/Lose 3 orbs or none. I still show up to fight. Besides you still have time to farm BG players with 3 orb buff for badges till new match starts.

PS: Blackgate players that were in southern FA borderlands last night… You may want to remember you have 3 orbs before you trash talk in emotes… considering we killed groups of your people solo or duo(With my GF lol).

Why are people talking about HoD still? Even with 3 orbs 80s are cake to own.

Titan Alliance is very insignificant. HoD will remain the same. The 24hour population size inside WvW is the primary deciding factor in who wins in WvW. HoD will continue to win as long as they have insane queue times 24/7 which means they always have a full roster on the WvW field. Really tired of seeing people brag like they are good at pvp because of WvW results. Not a single server that’s top right now has proven anything with skill. An you will never be able to as long as its not based on skill. Just wasting your time.

Going to laugh when HoD continues to have same results due to population.

Exactly WvW is not a skill based pvp mode. Yet I see endless posts of people defending the people saying “HoD is so pro at pvp”. So myself being a pvper am required to chime in..
