I don’t remember the Patch being last month!?!?!
Jeez, this thread is a train wreck.
The patch is today at 12 PM PST, guys.
Is the guild capes project still in the works? I remember this being something lead designer Colin Johanson mentioned in an interview several months ago. I wanted to bump this topic cause I’m still curious about it.
Most of the success videos don’t get the bubble spawned on them in phase 3. Is that just luck?
Why should people have to resort to posting 200 word requests on the Guild Wars 2 dungeon forums to be able to form a group large enough to play through contents of the game..? No offence to the creator of this thread, but this is ridiculous.
Bumping this thread again. Moderator response requested..
This thread reeks of casuals.
I actually applaud this.
Nobody is keeping you from running your alts, just do it the next day.Complaining about this is seriously shortsighted, because you locusts gobble up these dungeons in record time then complain after a week; “There´s nothing to do !”
Well, now it takes a couple of days longer to grind for that dungeon set.
Not sure if serious, or just casual with one character.. The point of complaining is that people with time invested in multiple alternates feel cheated. The larger time invested in the game isn’t in the least bit rewarding after this patch; a person with 8 level 80s is rewarded in no way differently than a person with 1 level 80 and 7 other level 2s in terms of dungeon progression.
As someone who has 10 80’s and 15 chars slots, after this change, i feel like crap, i was enjoying the new event and then i herd about this…and i’m really speechless i mean i though Anet was learning, but sometimes i just don’t know. I guess there is now no need to level up the rest of them. Instead of fixing Dungeons which the rewards are as joke as well, they pretty much killed them, as well as Alts, GG Anet, GG.
I feel as though I’m in the same boat with 8 level 80s. I’m feeling pretty depressed about the changes as well; my progress and accomplishments feel like they have lost any and all value they had before the patch. Feels a lot like loosing a lot of money on a large investment: utterly disheartening.
As soon as it gets a little bit more… difficult, people will always cry. Players don’t want to do all paths of a dungeon, they only want to do the easy one to get their rewards as easy and fast as possible. Which is sad, i hope they keep the changes. This is the first time in months that i’ve visited gw2lfg without seeing ‘’LF3M ZERK WARRIORS PING OR KICK’’ all over the site, which is kittening awesome. I love it.
Lazy people will always be lazy. Get your crap together and try some different paths for exchange, i promise you that you won’t get bored as fast.
I don’t think zerk warriors were farming tokens, and even if you run all three paths, you still get less tokens than before.
Also, this change wont make people run the disliked paths. It’ll just make less people run paths in general. Also also, I don’t think running all three paths on multiple characters makes you lazy, which is what quite a few people that I know did when they wanted tokens.
They didn’t farm tokens, no. But it gave you a kitten ton of tokens to spend. The point is – It forces players to play more than one dungeon a day, more than one path over and over a day. You’d get 360..ish tokens a day, and a decent amount of gold. Don’t forget that you can craft/buy your armor aswell.
With the current changes implemented, attaining 360 of the same tokens in one day would require one to run all three paths of that dungeon 4 repetitive times in a row, in theory, totaling in 12 consecutive runs of the same dungeon. Although, that isn’t even considering any additional diminishing returns you might hit after the second run for 20 tokens, in which case the number of runs would increase by much larger amounts after each following run. The only ideal amount of tokens the average willing player will now ever save in the period of one day is no more than 180 total tokens for 3 runs of a single dungeon.
Even in the runs I did yesterday I saw a lot of new players (although they insist the know the dungeon their behavior speaks for itself). Also they all insist on killing all champions…
Generally speaking,
I get how this keeps alts from being an advantage, but I don’t get how it makes alts a disadvantage or how it would keep you from playing whatever the heck you want to play in a dungeon. Unless, of course, you rolled an alt specifically for said advantage and not out of any genuine desire to play the class. If you played 8 chars, you are supposed to have some degree of advantage of something over others who only have 1 char. Because you spent time investing on them. Leveing them take a lot of time! The way it goes now, a new player who just pick up a game from the store and play one char will gain the same amount of things comparing to an old player who play the game for the whloe year. Just simply unfair.
Surely you will have fun playing different ones from time to time, but with the limited play time every day you will gradually pick a main to play. So having the other 7 gave you an adcantage of getting more tokens in a short time when you need the tokens from time to time. Again this nerf just put you into the shoes of a new player. They make a fool of old player that is all.
I agree wholeheartedly. Personally having had leveled 8 level 80 characters, I now feel like my efforts have been completely devalued, and playing my other characters are now completely discouraged… I have to say this change is awfully depressing to those who have spent large amounts of time focusing in variety progression by leveling multiple characters. My alts now can only ever amount to a measly 20 dungeon tokens… frustrating to say the least.
The gold and token rewards are only for the first play through, so why run it a second time?
This is exactly the reason ANet choose to do this. People were running CoF P1 constantly for hours on end. It seems to be ANet’s opinion that people shouldn’t be devoting hours to running this one instance hundreds of times.
In all honesty, there are other more acceptable ways of catering to the issue of dungeon farmers. Crippling the utilization of dungeon rewards with alternate characters just seems unfair to the player. The time spent in the progression of that alternate character should rightfully amount to something more than a measly 20 dungeon tokens in this case… It just doesn’t seem right to me.
I haven’t played dungeons since the patch. What has changed about dungeon tokens?
The amount of tokens attained from the same dungeon path by a second, alternate character on your account has been reduced daily by roughly 67% of what it was before the changes.
The fact that tokens have been tied to account-wide daily progression is terribly disheartening and uncalled for… I personally have 9 character slots, 8 of which are level 80 characters of each class. Despite the unhealthy amount of time I’ve spent building this array of characters, having completed 8 slots felt very accomplishing due to how I could utilize dungeon rewards. I now feel utterly crippled, and honestly slightly depressed because of the new changes to the token system; playing my extra characters just now seem like a waste of effort and is hardly encouraged at all, if not completely pointless… I consider myself pretty dedicated to Guild Wars 2, but this new change is making me strongly reconsider my continued support in the game, including in the cash shop and any future involvement in new content.
Yeah, I can’t join a game without finding a cheater with the food buff.. Taking a break from dragon ball till this exploit is patched.
hurry for ROLL BACK D8<
lol the view count on this thread exploded.
I for one am pretty excited about the culling fix. To me it feels like a whole new game because of how much more responsive and how much faster it feels; it only made the game better. I’m fine for sitting tight and looking forward to whatever they intend to release down the line in terms of content and game mechanics.
The fix on culling to me is forever going to be the largest milestone patch for the PvP in Guild Wars 2. I absolutely love the new feel it brought with it, and am hooked all over again like I was back in beta. I feel that one of the biggest hooks for me in this game is how much it stimulates the imagination: the art style of this game is absolutely captivating. The thing about WvW that stands out the most above all the strategy, points, and zerg battles, is the feature’s ability to immerse me into a world were I feel like I’m actually fighting a full-fledged war. This is one of the reasons why this patch hit me so strongly; being able to actually finally visualize the battle going on right in front of me is just breathtaking—AMAZING job on the fix.
As for future patches, I’m also for the idea behind customizing the amount of text on the front-lines, and I can agree that it would not only enhance playability in WvW, but also generate a better look and feel of a war-like environment thus enriching the gamer experience.
A quick fix that I could think of, and have seen done in a number of other MMOs would be to (I’m sure this was thought of at the studio at one point):
• Add an option to only show names of players on mouse-over, and mouse-click.
This will not only reduce the amount of text visible while in battle, but give the player a lot more control on what the player wants to see on the spot.
That should be fine. Its kind of the same as buying a gaming mouse with additional buttons on it; I think using an application to get that same utilization shouldn’t make the scenario any different.

Anyone know if that clock exists in-game?
A really good combo that people over look due to the short bow is the long bow Hunter’s Shot + QZ + Rapid Fire for a sudden burst-like damage to any target on pursuit. The Hunter’s Shot adds vulnerability to add 10% incoming damage while you stack up numbers with your Rapid Fire on QZ. This combo gets anyone to spam their dodge button, and doesn’t require a glass cannon-like build to put out a decent amount of damage. The long bow also offers you one of the best ranger crowd control skills: Barrage. Use that with the ranger’s Radiation Field utility to leave behind wide area damage to slow your foe down when being chased; works like a charm for me because people tend to try and avoid the red circles I leave behind allowing me to gap them farther with less heat.
Have the devs commented if they plan to do anything with crossfire?

At least all the people complaining about the “animation problem” with the Crossfire skill will be happy…
I agree 100%. Thumbs up. +1.
