Nah,that would render about half of or utility skills worthless(well more so)
It worked in gw1 but itd require a complete reworking of our class.
Entangle pretty much guarantees 4-5 bags if you get in range for it during a big fight(not always the easiest thing to do though)
All you can do is ignore them I guess, there’s always one or two classes in every mmo considered “weak”
Or just go start playing spvp and start mocking warriors instead, whichever works!
SE path 1 and 3 and hotw path 1 are all quick, relatively easy and are easy to get groups for.
If you know who is doing it just fight fire with fire….post something like "I’m giving away gold to the first 20 people who whisper me ‘not so funny now?’ (or something) under his name.
And no enjoying it with lvl 46 is not the same at level 80 because you don’t know other classes and how other classes at 80 perform because exspecially then, the dungeon grinding starts and nobody wants you.
I made a screenshot of gw2lfg just now.
Look at all the people searching for rangers!Level 80 sure is fun.
Looking at that picture….did you only search for COF lfg’s?
And if fun = mindlessly farming the easiest dungeon in the game for hours on end then I’ll stick with being excluded from those groups thanks.
By the grenth temple when it’s contested.
The only pets that can hit that hard need to be traited for(resulting in a weaker ranger) or are squishy themselves…..so just wipe the pet out first?
You should never ignore a bird or a cat.
Levelling a ranger is fairly easy if you’re into the ranged aspect, your pet should tank whilst you fill them with arrows, trying to swap pets before they die.
If you want your pets to be anyway useful, put some points into beast mastery, otherwise put point in marksmanship and skirmishing for the longbow/shortbow and the other two trait lines are mostly about helping survival.
If you’re still not sure, try out some of the other classes see what you like best!
Try ele or necro, both involve Afair amount of kiting for alot of their builds and necros have minions so you won’t get lonely :P
The bitterness in this thread is something else….
Ranger is alot of fun to play and I actually like having a pet companion for the levelling experience.
If you’re enjoying it at level 46 then you Probbaly will enjoy it at level 80….
As for groups wise, most people won’t mind a ranger, except for the people with a personal vendetta against this class (see above) or people who don’t like having more than one party member not wearing heavy armor…
I accidentally bought a gear box with guild commendations instead of the bow i was going to buy,so now i’ll have to wait another week to buy it (which is fairly disappointing).
A sell back feature would have been awesome here,Considering guild commendations and laurals are time gated so if you mess up you have to spend alot more time earning them again unlike accidentally buying things with gold.
Go to low level areas, help new players and invite them,it has the 2advantages that you’ll be helping new players and you’ll have people to do story mode on alts with!
They drop from heavy mining bags too, which is why I like that dredge fractal!
The person being kicked doesn’t see the vote.
And it only needs two to kick
Itd be nice to have something to work towards token wise in dungeons than just armor and weapons that’s for sure!
I just started using per prowess, had completely forgotten about that trait! It makes me love my jaguar even more :’)
I love the sword, the other two skills are evades so I rarely have a problem with the auto attack,I’d rather they buffed my longbow than change the sword.
If you’re getting kicked that often just stop talking, stop giving advice unless you’re absolutely sure that they want it,or just be the instance creator and be as snarky as you like!
I’ve a fungal wallow mini pet and a ancient armor fragment(nightfall) spare if anyone wants.
Im also willing to fight Shiro to get the imperial pheonix and I’ve the black moa quest done if anyone wants him quickly
I’m also looking for some Deldrimor Armor Remnants(x3),which I’d be willing to buy for gw2 gold if anyone has them!
Condition removal isn’t great, the only reliable way for swiftness is with a focus off hand.
And most players will see you as a walking teleport/time warp dispenser!
I’d like if they actually hurt the person who killed them (like some decent amount of damage) so that people fighting us can either leave them alone or attack them and take damage from it.
Just so long as they don’t make it a poll or something (don’t want a repeat of the new mountain dew flavor fiasco!) :P
whilst the longbow is rather nice,I much prefer the new guild long bow as it’s less flashy
I’ll buy some gems with gold when it calms down a small bit and try my luck with 10 or so.
My ranger has been my main for about 6years,always like the guy with the bow and arrows!
So…..it’s your first time in PvP and you’re bad at it…..so you automatically blame the class?
I admit rangers need work, but we’re not as broken as some of ye claim.
They fixed TA too,can no longer get up on the vines and range him.
Then again these were obviously exploits,so it was a fix not a nerf
My only issue is that we could have gotten some forewarning…..I used like 5keys on the 25th
From my own (limited) experience it seems more about making sure he doesn’t get any grubs to him in phase one and the rest is just kiting him and picking up the downed people.
I read somewhere that he targets the person with the lowest vit…..not too sure how true that is though.
This topic pops up so often….
It’s time consuming yeah, but so is every other part of the legendary process.
The guild weapons are rather nice actually….more tasteful than the I’M ON FIRE LOL weapons….plus you don’t have to waste so much gold on them!
Nearly all the profession forums are complaining about nerfs atm….was any class actually happy with this patch?
(edited by Gelltor.3015)
My gw1 ranger wouldn’t fight my gw2 ranger….He’d just walk away slowly shaking his head….
I like having guardians and eles on my team, but I’m generally okay with everything
Not so gone on another ranger (my main) or warriors (nearly all the people on my block list are warriors from pugs)
You can’t rally off pets,I made this mistake afew times before but it always happened near random animals in the wilderness that were killed by AOE or something.
I don’t know why, but of all bad players I meet, most of them are rangers. Why is this class such a noob-magnet?
It’s a very easy class to level up in open world PVE,harder to play it well.
And in all likelihood, there’s Probbaly more terrible players running a warrior, just it’s not as obvious when they screw up.
For his dome attack at phase 3 i have abit of a dilemma.to get out of it i can either use my elite rampage as one but then not have spirit of nature or use signet of the wild to get out, which doesn’t always work quick enough…..am i missing anything here?
I never join parties that have stuff like “NO NOOBS” (why is it always in caps?)
But if they’re asking for experienced people only for some of the harder dungeons I don’t have a problem with that, not everyone wants to help people all the time.
What are these perks supposed to be?
Titles are just superficial anyway,if someone sees your low level title and thinks “easy kill” theyll get a nice surprise :pThe question is, why would Anet make titles account based for pve and pvp but then character based for wvw? Yes it’s just vanity, but for those of us that play wvw exclusively I want my title to show that. I don’t want my 8 alts to all have the same noob title as the pve player that only plays in wvw 1/8th of the time I do.
Hmm,they aren’t making them like the PvP ones are they? Like the champion hunter one or those types?

Its not really a good idea to skip either as they have high chase duration and they still kill the stragglers, which cause everyone to go back to save you and they die, etc. Its not good either way, fight or skip someone is going to die and have many repairs.
you only say this because of either 1. you don’t know how to run in this dungeon or 2. been with too many people who don’t know how to run this dungeon. Skipping past the trash is ALWAYS good, faster, easier, and guaranteed no repairs but only if you’re with people who actually know how to run. When I do guild runs here, it doesn’t matter the path. Everyone is going to run past and everyone is going to live. Someone might have a hic-up but by the time the rest of us get to the boss he/she’ll res themselves and make it to the end no problem.
That’s fine if you’re running with people you know can run it no bother, but that is always a gamble with Pugs, where a lot of the time it will simply be less of a hassle to kill them first.
For PVE warrior rifle is probably the best, just because their super obvious killshot won’t be dodged.
For PvP and wvw,a theif or Mesmer or ranger would Probbaly be better.
It can drop from AC too I think.
I have a constant jaguar as I love that guy.
For my 2nd ill either take devourer/reef drake/wolf depending on what I’m doing.
Underwater I use two drakes as their f2 is pretty good underwater.
On a side note, reef drake has reflection skill underwater? I would give all my monies for that to be its on land skill….
I don’t really mind the ascended gear stuff too much to be honest,I have aload of rings for alts so I can gear one up with 10AR quite easily,up to 20 AR depending on how much stuff I have in my bank for infusing(now just to actually get an alt to level 80 first…)
If you’re a glass cannon ranger you can stay on the platform and still hit the boss with a traited longbow(unlesss he goes all the way back) helpful for getting a barrage off without burning. Only use search and rescue on flat surfaces as it bugs out on anything else.for taking down the shield use longbow 2 and war horn 4,nearly takes it down with just that.
Retaliation for your mesmers and feedback should help too, maybe if the necro went all minions for things to hide behind too? (bit of a noob with these two classes)
Well what classes are ye playing?
This is most often seen in TA with the wolves, about half the time a group decides to skip this one or more (usually the light class guy) goes down and we spend more time waiting around for that person to get through than it would just to kill them first time round.
Alot of these sound very controlling to be honest…..especially the entering first one,if someone asks me to leave the dungeon so they can be party leader I automatically assume they are planning to kick me at somepoint during the run, especially of they have guildies.
As for the ranger not using his waterfield, for alot of AOE fights troll ugent is preferred because you can move around, instead of sticking to a circle for healing,.
