Charr has the best looking longbow stance and animations imo. I like the animations of all the weapons actually.
Finding a good looking armor for Charr, especially if ‘nature’ is your thing, can be a challenge though. But it’s worth a try!

I gave my thief a new look. Tried to make it look less thief and more like adventurer. Here is pics of her before and after the makeover.

You can buy the quartz (not charged) from TP as they are not account bound. Or you can collect them in a zone called Dry Top. Not sure if there are other ways to get them currently.
It takes you 30 days (1/day) to make enough charged quartz for a full set of celestial armor.

You have to have something to keep you warm, since the T3 alone isn’t going to do that.

My Norn thief was originally male. With the biggest/fattest bodytype, and a mohawk and I loved him to pieces. But the way off-hand pistol was clipping through pretty much any coat, made me change his gender to female. And I’m happy I made that decision.
As for the dyes, I use charred, black and enameled sacrifice.

I’m saving up for my next lege aswell (my goal is to make every lege for thief) and I’m going to craft it the minute they confirm rifle for thief. I absolutely love the skin so I don’t feel I should wait to see the new lege first. If thieves are getting something else, I will probably wait until they release the new legendaries, as the rest of the likely ones are a bit meh (mace, gs, axe, torch…)
So my advice is that if you REALLY like the skin and think it fits your character(s) perfectly, go ahead and make it.

I have the inci skin on my ele who I play from time to time. However it’s only on my off-hand, because I love the way the normal autoattack looks on ele and it looks and feels so wrong when you’re on your water attunement and you’re throwing sticks of fire. I use the corrupted dagger on my mainhand to keep the elemental balance there!

As for the bifrost… I don’t like it. It’s probably the last one I would ever make. It’s too colorful and colorless at the same time (kinda funny because the dreamer was my first lege and I still love it!). It CAN look beautiful with a right kind of armor and dyes next to it but I don’t see that very often. Also, I prefer the ele autoattack to the bifrost’s projectiles, just like with inci.

Here is mine. Mix of cultural, arah, krytan and hotw. Imo the jacket is one of the only jackets that look rangery and good on charr.

My two other Charr are sort of scary/kitten/evil looking so I thought I’d give my engi more of a happy/gentle/friendly look. And I think it looks quite nice.

I main a thief but I do have a lvl80 charactere of every class and I try to give some love to all of them. I play PvE (dungeons) and WvW (roaming) so I’m going to write how I feel about the classes in both gamemodes.

Some of these are rather stupid / childish / not based on much, so I hope people don’t take this seriously!

1. Warriors
PvE – A bit slow and think too highly of themselves. Warrior best dps in game! 4 warriors + mesmer ftw. Still, I don’t mind having 2-3 of them in the pugs I run with.
WvW – Easy kill

2. Guardians
PvE – Angels sent from the heaven. The friendlier versions of warriors
WvW – Nice opponents. All those blocks and invulnerability though…

3. Thieves
PvE – My rivals. I have to do and look better than them. I secretly hope they make some mistakes so I would be the good one in the party
WvW – I love fighting other thieves. Especially if they are running a build similar to mine. I do hate shadow refuge though. I’m so annoyed by it I don’t ever have it on my skillbar.

4. Engineers
PvE – I always cheer for the engi when I get one in my party. I know their potential and it makes me super happy to see a good engi in action. Engineers are the funniest players!
WvW – Too much stuff flying at my face. Explosions everywhere. Engineers are probably the ones that kill me the most, and I respect them greatly.

5. Rangers
PvE – Despite my dislike towards rangers, I do respect skilled and smart rangers. I’ve run a few dungeon paths with my ranger just to see how it is, and I found myself jumping and running all over the place with the sword and forgetting all about my pet. The poor thing. I was so bad someone in my group actually asked if I had bought my account. At least I didn’t use lb 4 to push mobs away from the aoe!
WvW – I hate them so much (well, to be precise I hate the lb power build but that’s what most rangers I see running anyway). Fighting them is fine, but the amount of times I’ve had a nice fight with someone, and suddenly I got a gazillion arrows in my back, is too kitten high! So many rage quits caused by a ranger

6. Necromancers
PvE – Everyone knows necromancers are not in the top 5 for dungeons. But I don’t mind having one in my party. To me, necromancers seem to be the least arrogant and annoying players. I often feel bad for them for getting the short end when it comes to dungeons and I wish they get some major buffs to make them more popular!
WvW – They scare the kitten out of me. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a condi or power build, I’m terrified when I see one. I do like the stolen skill I get from them.

7. Elementalists
PvE – Too many eles don’t bother stacking might. Or even give a fire field before the boss so the rest of us could blast it! 95% of the time they won’t give the field until there is a light or smoke field under it.
WvW – I don’t really have an opinion of them in wvw. They’re cool I guess

8. Mesmers
PvE – I like mesmers. Some of them just have some difficulties understanding when to place the feedback bubble. I have two hints for when NOT to use it: 1) when there is no projectiles 2) when someone else already has projectile defense up. This works for every class that has projectile blocks of course.
WvW – As a thief I find mesmers very fun and interesting. In a way we are quite similar with all the stealth, deception and mind games but on the other hand we are very different.

Here’s my engi and his little buddy.
I tried to go with a casual and normal(ish) look with this character.

I like this kind of realistic look, even though I don’t often use such style on my characters. Really nice. I like his face too. He wouldn’t look half as good if he had one of the prince charming -faces that over a half of the human players use.

well let’s see, my shoes and shoulders are Lawless, pants are the heavy plate from the karma set, chest and glove is scallywag.

It clips whether it’s on an incline or not. Maybe I should have chosen a better picture.
It does not clip on the other races since their stance is different. Also the weapons do matter. When wielding pistol/pistol you hold them higher compared to sw/p or d/p.

Does anyone here have a picture of male Norn in either Krytan or Magitech armor wielding dagger/pistol or sword/pistol?

I’d like to see if the pistol gets clipped through the chest piece like in the picture below. I’m thinking about getting a new armor set but I don’t feel like spending hundreds of gems just to see another glitched coat.

9/10 I’m a bit surprised by how well the sylvarish armor goes with the charr appearance. Looks really nice. I like the tiny blue bits here and there so it doesn’t look all black&white. The only minus is that I never really liked the chest part of the ta armor. Otherwise, good job.

Couldn’t decide whether to post my warr or engi so here’s both.

ha, that is purrrfect! I like the viking look (at least that’s what came to my mind first) and how you’re not using any flashy colors. Nice mix of different armor sets and the weapons suit the outfit very well. Not sure if I like the hammer though.

Hey all!

Just wanted to ask if it’s safe using Shadow Refuge when doing the skipping parts in ta. I remember how a long time ago we used SR to skip the first part (getting to the wurms), and somehow got the npc bugged and we had to restart the dungeon. One of the party members told us it was because of the Shadow Refuge we used. Since then I’ve been a bit hesitant to use any stealth skills in TA :P

I wonder if this was just a one-time random bug, or if stealth actually caused this. Any help?

Easy 10/10 for both of them. Everything works together really.

Guard – Love the armor, love the weapons, love the dyes, love the charr. For the first time I see someone actually look good in those shoulders.
War – Pretty much everything I just said above. I’m not a fan of that backpiece but here it works well with the rest of the armor.

Here is my warrior. I used to wear T3+cof armor combination for months and I felt like trying something else.

Have you tried argos soft? I’ve found it very handy when I’m trying to make new looks for my characters.

Yeah it’s from EotM. I have no idea how it happened, I fell down and instead of dying my char started to swim. I guess he just wasn’t ready to die yet.

Remember that you don’t have to farm the same dungeon over and over again to get your armor. At least I find it very boring.
For example you can get berserker gear from CoF, CoE and Arah, and soldier from Ac, Se and HotW. You can check the full list here (almost at the bottom under ‘dungeons’)

You can also buy exotic armor with karma 42K/piece. Not really worth it in my opinion.

I love the armor and the dyes. And for once I don’t dislike the electric wings, I think they actually look pretty nice. I don’t really like the color of the hair but that’s a matter of tastes I suppose. With better surroundings and lighting she would look amazing.

I give 9/10 for her looks, but as a screenshot 7/10

9/10, it sounds very norn but it’s a bit difficult to remember if you don’t know what it is.

Desiré Snu Snu

On my warrior I had Volcanus before crafting the ascended greatsword. Needless to say, I transmuted it to keep the skin. I’m also going to transmute any other ascended weapons I will make. I’m not saying the ascended weapons are ugly (some of them i.e. the staff, looks very nice actually) but I just like the other skins more.

To be honest, I can’t really find anything that I don’t like on your charr.

Armor: unique and very charr, haven’t seen that mix before.
Dyes: work well together. Again, not something I see everyday.
Weapons: I like to use more flashy weapons but in your case, they fit your charr perfectly.
The charr itself: Beast, just the way I like it.

All in all – awesome! 10/10

I do like the Norn cultural armor but imo those sculls don’t look very good. The gloves look great and it’s a shame it gets cut off like that on his right hand. I’m not a big fan of the weapons here either. 6/10

I can’t believe we still haven’t got any official statement from anet. I don’t mind if its going to take several days or even weeks, but I want to know something is happening and that they really are working on it!

Same here. From Finland @ Gandara. 0,5-5s delay all the time. Started a few days ago.
I’d love to hear something from anet so I wouldn’t feel completely ignored. Even a ‘We are working on it’ would make me feel much better.

I love the purple-yellow-orange combination here and I like the armor aswell. The color of the skin looks really nice and that hair is one of my favorites in the game! 10/10

Yes you can and many players are doing this. But I would advice you to ask your party members first if it’s okay to switch at the end because 1) I think it’s polite, and 2) some players are strongly against this. Not long ago one player wanted to switch to his alt and our host got upset and left the party getting everyone kicked out, right before the end boss in ac p3. However, in most cases, especially when running paths with an easy end boss (ac3, cof1…), nobody has a problem with that.

Oh, and don’t do this if you’re the one who opened the dungeon. Sometimes people forget they’re hosting and end up kicking everyone out when they switch characters

I say Volcanus suits a dark, fire themed warrior way better than Vision of the Mists or Twilight. Here’s my warrior with his ascended volcanus.

9/10, I like it a lot. Dachr sounds very charry to me, even though I’m not sure how to pronounce it. I don’t know whether the last name is meant to be ‘Death spawn’ or ’Death’s pawn’ but either way I like it. The only reason why I didn’t give full 10/10 is that I’m not such a big fan of names that tells you the profession so clearly but that’s just me
