Sir Chan de Stroy, my attempt at a (circa 3rd crusade) Knight Hospitaller…he got lost on the way to Jerusalem, and ended up in the wrong Ascalon…
I just wish we had a decent bucket helm to play with…ascended was the best of a bad bunch.
I think we all know more collections are coming, so you can rest easy on that one.
After all, it’s a cheap way of insisting we’ve had new ‘content’ – I was hoping for Elona or Cantha to open up, and of course, that mythical new playable race…or any amount of new and innovative content…
Instead? I can now collect spoons.
Makes all my toons look like someones stabbed them in the back with a longbow.
haha id love to hear the storys…
so i was doing Teq and that Jester popped up. we lost.
so i was minning and that jester popped up and moved the node
so i was in dry top jumping up the cliff and the jester apeared and knocked me off
so i was i was champ farming and the jester popped up and healed the champ to full health
…because what this forum needs is more rage.
That’s what PvE commanding is though, doesn’t mean you can discredit it. PvE and WvW commanding shouldn’t be evaluated equally.
I don’t need to discredit the ability to repeatedly exploit a broken mechanic (plinx etc)…it does that on its own.
Sadly, Commander Tags very often only reflect the ability to farm cash, rather than any true ability to lead people on a map.
Perhaps a new rank needs to be implemented where Commanders have to be elected by other players…it would still be open to abuse, but might stop people who farm Plinx for an afternoon thinking they can give orders in WvW…
Guys, you are now arguing about grammar, and trying to give each-other english lessons.
Perhaps you’ve moved a tiny bit off topic? Splitting grammar hairs might be fun for the pedants here, but the true message of these threads always gets lost (and the threads locked) because of it.
For my part, I wish the ‘powers that be’ would spend some of their marketing budget on development.
Crashing due to a "Invalid Character Motion"?
in Account & Technical Support
Posted by: Gobhoblin.7582
Just crashed twice in quick succession with this error.
Any news on this one?
I have to ask…what is this? It looks like some variation on town clothes?
Pretty cool but I have no idea how you pulled that together.
Topper and Aetherblade Chest from the Gem Shop
Trousers from Ascalon Catacombs armour set
Boots are from the exotic Acolyte set…or Mad Kings Slippers.
Gloves I think are the HoM ones.
Whiskers styled by Bjorn Nancybeard of Hoelbrak.
More queen Jennah minis!
Except this time around, you have to get them from – yep, you guessed it – the Gem Store!
What you think of as quests in standard MMOs are dynamic events in Guild Wars 2.
‘Dynamic’? – meaning, characterised by constant change?
Seriously?
So many of these quests are now so ‘dynamic’ there are websites dedicated to timing the spawns, so whole armies of players are lying in wait for them to happen…which makes the biggest challenge of many fights getting a hit in before the boss is rolled over by the train.
I still enjoy playing this game – but lets be real…dynamic it ain’t.
Here is my necro – Dr Formel De Hyde.
Just because you spend every day up to your elbows in corpses, doesn’t mean you can’t be dapper!
Asking players to make more ascended items with more runes is just asking for time and money loss for no benefit.
Yeah, I’m sure that’ll never happen in this game.
…but the op is spot on – it’s a strange thing to be missing.
Interestingly enough – given how many players run toons named after characters from those sodding books, there could be something in this…
Seriously, I can’t move for Snows, Lannisters, Tyrions and Daenerys’…its a disease I tells ya!
Here are my three Rangers;
Gobhoblin – Longbow
Destiny’s Hedge – Shortbow
Ebon Vanguard Scout – Melee
Some fab engineers here!
Here are my three...
Gingerbeard Man - Dual Pistol / Flamethrower.
Tess Tube - Rifle / Turrets
Saiorse Ò Banáin - Pistol & Shield / Bombs & Grenades
Lets hope Anet will eventually feature the Mists in their Mists update.
Ring of Fire server – not an enemy in sight in our Frostgorge….
Thanks mate – that sorted it, at least for the Mistwrought Chest, so I assume the fractals ones will behave themselves as well.
No idea why that wasn’t set to auto – must have reset to default at some point.
Thanks again!
Yeah, this is happening to me too.
Had to do Obsidian Sanctum a few times before it actually deigned to put the marks in my wallet.
Same happens with fractals, but it usually lets me have the relics before the rest of the team get too tetchy.
What gives?
Early days for this little guy, but so far – he’s turned out pretty evil.
Gnoblin, brand new alt Mesmer.
Here is my second Mesmer – Runcible Spoon.
A female Mesmer with clothes on? Madness I tells ya! Madness!!
A Human Mesmer not in full T3?
ZOMG!
!??!1?!@
…there are more of us than you’d think.
Here are my two…
I dont understand, how the you all Love Champion Zergs but hate the concept of Raid Dungeons.
Not all of us love the Chump Choo Choo – in fact some of us really resent the broken mechanic it represents, and despise the aggressive behaviour of some farmers who gang up and heap abuse upon on any player unfortunate enough to not follow the zergs so called “rules”.
I’d be happy if there was a forge recipe involving dust and all those sodding Princess Miya’s Wigs.
Here is my swashbuckling thief, after watching waaay too many Errol Flynn movies.
Superior studded shoulders
T1 chest
Superior studded gloves
HoM legs
T3 boots
I did give specific examples. Whatever your memory was of that, those skills existed and if you entered the meta game in PvE, you were expected to have them..and by many have them maxed out.
You and I remember it quite differently. Lets agree to disagree, and let all these good folks get back to arguing about GW2, shall we?
Some of the PVE only skills tied to titles did provide a significant amount of power. They were easy mode approaches to powerful builds as top end builds without PVE only skills were capable of levels of performance at least comparable to PVE only builds.

The funny bit is, you did have to grind to get the most power out of your skills in Guild Wars 1. They’ve changed it more recently after Guild Wars 2 was released, presumably because most people no longer play Guild Wars 1 to play Guild Wars 1. They play it to get cool stuff for Guild Wars 2.
But yeah, there was a ton of grind. People forget.
Ok – see the winky face on my post? On my planet, that usually means someone is joking. Calm down.
On the subject of grinding in GW1, maybe I am mis-remembering, but wasn’t all the grind cosmetic? Sure, they introduced the EotN titles that gave you a damage boost against certain beasties – but if I remember rightly they changed that after a massive outcry from the community?
Again, I’m probably looking back with rose-tinted specs, but I don’t remember a GW1 grind that wasn’t cosmetic or title related…no performance benefit, just pure kitten.
…which is why I loved the game. I have no strong ragey feelings about the grind for gear in GW2, other than a profound sense of disappointment.
People … it’s time to say farewell to Guild Wars 2. Tag me if you know another good f2p mmorpg to play instead (i’m 100% serious, can’t keep up with this grinding crap forever).
And you’re going to find a free to play MMO with less grinding?
That’s pretty funny. Good luck with that.
GW1?
Gobhoblin your 2nd pic is the dogs doodahs! what armour is that?
Thankyou, you’re very kind – although I should point out that no dogs were harmed during it’s creation!
As the armour;
Starter hood
Outlaw shoulders
HoM chest and gloves
Temple trousers
Conquest boots
…and about a hundred different dyes.
Dude as i said before Pve is just a spam. Its even worse than
The gw1 passive faceroll with heros . You cant be pro at pve
Becsuse it requires 0 skill . Its a combination of
Stack the boss on a wall + click on axe autoatack or 100b
If u prefer + cast time warp and.watch thing die . Elitism
Shouldnt even exist how u can be good at something
That requires 0 brain 0 skill . Pve nabs should try and win
Some outnumebred fightds in wvw or solo Q
Good job you’re not being PvP elitist then, or else my irony detector would explode!
My ranger has had a year of the ‘trenchcoat and big hat’ look – so it’s time for a change.
Starter hood
Outlaw shoulders
HoM chest and gloves
Temple trousers
Conquest boots
Here is my ranger in both his armour sets.
While my alts have their share of flashy armour, dye and weapons, I’ve tried to keep this guy (my main) kind of low key – I wanted him to look like someone who lives in the wilderness and blends in to his environment.
My necro Wormwood – proof that even vegetables have a dark side…
Great idea – I reckon the Quaggan could run this easy…
Two men enter, one man leaves…The Quaggandome!
Tsumedenko Rawr.
Since the game doesn’t give any lore help for new players when creating a character, I came up with that name without knowing how charr names worked. My friends now joke I’m part of the “Raw” warband, and my warbandmates just added a “r” to my name to be snarky. Sure sounds like Euryale.
You could be in a Rawrband?
My thief Armitagesh Ankhs, buckling his swash – and proving not all thieves dress like omgninjaassassinsftw!
…guess I watched to much ‘Flashing Blade’ when I was a nipper.

Here are two of my Sylvari…
…Joan of Bark (Guardian) and Róisín Dubh (Ele).
Rosaera…9/10 – love the name.
I run four Sylvari:
Joan of Bark – Guardian
Destiny’s Hedge – Ranger
Wormwood – Necro
Roisín Dubh – Ele (gaelic for ‘little black rose’)
The last name follows me from game to game…
This is my Guild wars 1 mesmer. I’m still in love with her….
now i can’t use eighter that hair or that dress.we need similar things for light armor
Can’t help with the hair, but as for armour, if you have access to the HoM (and coming from GW1 you probably do) try the the light armour there. It looks quite similar to what you have posted.
How about all the hats and helmets that not only remove a characters hair, but any beard and/or moustaches?
Even the latest offering, the Dragon Bash helm shaves my norn toons face smoother than a straight-razor.
