I bumped the PvP thread since the problem is not restricted to one class.

same problem here. i note it especially on my mesmer.

Yep i am using that trait as wells as blurred inscriptions. Tested without and couldn’t reproduce the problem as often as before.
However as i am aware of the problem this might interfer.
I will test it in usual dungeon runs, where i do not think of it and just use my standard opening rotations for phantasm productions.

Hi,

since the Patch hit, I experienced some issues with skillqueuing, especially on my Engineer and Mesmer.

For example on my Mesmer if I summon a Phantasm, activate Signet of Ether and then summon another Phantasm, the last Phantasm skill will not activate.
I checked my Ping and there is nothing noticeable, it is usually between 40 and 80 ms.

This is slightly annyoing cause it messes up my flow of play.

Please respond if anyone has similar issues.

my main is a mesmer and i am now starting to push my fractal level beyond 30. I heard that in higher fractals a necro can be helpful so i am considering to gear up my necro alt (actually i would love to play him more in dungeons but due to lack of utility i stick with my mesmer) so i can switch between those two according to the very fractal.

Atm i run spoj’s dagger build and i wanted to ask what build is the most optimal for high level fractals.

I would be thankful for any kind of advice.

well as the term hybrid got broadened here, there are actually few non hybrid builds.

- mix of denfensive and offensive stats: hybrid
- any sort of damage (power or condi) and one or two stuns: hybrid
- full zerker but carry signet of inspirat for boonsharing: hybrid support/damage

so most builds then are hybrid. a standard pu/condi build is hybrid as it utilizes stealth and condidamage (you can run condidamage without stealth).

if hybrid is does not solely apply to the source of damage you use, but also encompasses the utilization of different tools given to a mesmer (and gear available) then there have always been many hybrid builds and only very few non hybrids.

DPS is a… yes measurement. Neither does this exclude conditions nor is it the opposite of conditions.

Somehow i have the feeling that you are speaking rather for yourself than on behalf of the community menace. but anyway…

October the 15th a new balance patch will be hitting, so maybe we should relax for a while and see what the patch will bring. maybe the changes will have the potential for some people to come up with new builds.

to comment on the vid:

- try to find some opponents who fight back. apart from that funny guardian who hid behind the rock and that one fight against the mesmer (but at the end the thief from your team jumped in) you were only killing people who were running away. Based on this footage it is not possible to judge your build and skill.

- if you wanna keep on making vids i would recommend getting enough raw footage and then spent some time editing. no one is really interested in watching someone pick up the orb and run to a node. There are plenty of very well edited videos on the mesmer forums (p.e. from Vash) to give you an idea.

once again DPS= Damage (done) per Second. It’s a measurement category,wether the damage done per second comes from conditions or direct hits doesn’t matter!

secondly i know that necros can run a hybrid builds in pve (sadly regarding fast dungeon runs necros are at the bottom of the ladder) but remember what nemesis says about his hybrid build (good guy btw) it does 60% dmg of a pure condi build and 60% of a pure zerker build and no that does not add up to 120…

so a hybrid build has neither, reasonable conditiondamage or direct damage or what are you trying to say???

mesmers is literally the worst profession when it comes to stopping runners.
consider a fleeing enemy a victory.

the main advantage of the runes is getting faster around the map in wvwvw. in combat however they do not make up for blink (personally i blink is the only utility that never leaves my bar), the stunbreak on blink is also gold.

i would recommend dumping the mantra for blink, the condiramoval from torch should be sufficient. if you get jumped by more than one condition specc at a time you cannot remove fast enough and will die (Remember what nemesis from the necro forums says. If you face players of equal skill you cannot win a 1vx.).

i don’t wanna debate on you gear however i think there are better rune choices. You have -10% condiduration and +20% condiduration. that doesn’t help much.

Either go for perplexity or Undead for more dmg. or traveller for the luxury of runspeed.

1. I didn’t say that this particular build can’t handle conditiondamage (one of your million previous iterations couldn’t but you improved that).

2. With the word build we usually refer to the trait setup. So your build (traitwise) is not new. The only thing you do different is the gear. That’s ok. As i said in my previous post i am sceptical towards hybrid builds but i could be wrong. Thing is that i am not really impressed by 1,6k-2k duellist and 2k frenzy as i prefer more condidamage and tankiness but that is a matter of choice

3. Stop making statements that your build is viable or that you have stomped one gazillion noobs or whatever until you can prove it. (How often do we have to say that and yes we know you have issues with recording).

4. Stop beeing pathetic assuming that players here are not able to acquire gear or anything.

5. DPS = Damage per Second. This applies to Direct Damage and Condition Damage.

6. Stop Bumping and renaming your post until you have some hard facts.

no one ever said you improved apart from yourself. Build is standard, has been around for a while now. only your gearchoice is a bit different.
you took a standard pizza (don’t get me wrong here pizza is delicious) took away some ingredients and added some. still it is just pizza.

EDIT: swapping utilities does not improve a build. Many people switch their utilities regularly dependig on the situation they are going to face.

those boosts come from sigils that you can slot in your weapons. However it is only possible to receive the stacks of one sigil at once.

well well here we go again. i really don’t get why you wanna make a build to just counter one specific build (also i am nor really convinced of mesmer hybrid builds but i might be proofenn wrong).
But well menace i got something for you here, see if you wanna be really innovativ don’t focus on 1v1 and solo roaming builds. We got plenty of viable builds and yours havent’t really made it so far.

BUT as you are so eager to find your own build. why not make a viable zerg build that doesn’t focus on support or beeing a veil, portal bot? That would really raise my attention.

many people here are sceptical towards statements or even lists of how many people you or anyone facerolled. So better bring proof before you state anything about the skill of your opponents.

you do not use a video camera to record gaming videos there is software like fraps, bandicam etc….

good players will see if they have confusion on them no matter if it is from scepter 3 or the image and stop spamming when it stacks to high.

i am out you don’t try to give reasonable arguments for your build but assume weird stuff about the seemingly mediocre opponents you face.

take a look at real builds, on how much effort they put in and reason about their choices. you learned your bit in posting threads but everytime there are suggestions or criticism. you switch the topic (no one said you have few condiremoval but you brag about idisenchanter) or state that you wreck with you built.

Well the torch blast is common to all builds that use torch but i wouldn’t call it a burst weapon. And for mediocre condiburst you lack the torment and confusion scepter offers.

And honestly as i spent most of my time solo roaming in wvwvw even with 3 teleports you won’t catch anyone who does not want to get catched. Sword 2 is hard to land and buggy. And Staff 2 always teleports you in the opposite direction you are facin. If you wanna play catch equip gs and focus and even then you wan’t get most players.

The baseline problem is that you don’t point out why your build does something better than the existing PU/condition builds from which you copied it. P.e. the blackwaterbuild offers more access to conditions and the “chasing abilities” are nearly the same. So my advice is, if you wan’t to come up with an innovative built point out what it does better and worse than very very similar existing builds or for which specific task it is designed.

Well in his guide Osciat clearly mentiones that his build is inspired by natsu and seven mirror, he is openly transparent about his sources. That is why no one ever complained about natsu or osciat copying builds. Your build however differs from natsus just in two aspects.
Weapon choice and one trait…

So to the things you mentioned about your built:

- Focus on Confuson:
Your only sources of confusion are the torch phantasm and F3. I would switch in perplexity runes to have about 2-3 stacks constantly on your enemy.

- Your build lacks a bit in overall condition application. You only rely on the conditions from staff and the bleeds from sword illus. With the standard build by Natsu you have access to more confusion and torment. . If you take osciats condition build you can even stack more conditions on your enemy (nullfied+pistol phantasm followed by scepter 3 can stack up to 12-13 if you use perplexity runes).

- You mentioned your build focuses on burst. I don’t see where your burst should come from. blurred frenzy won’t hit hard in rabid gear. As a mesmer you cannot build for burst dmg and decent condition dmg in one specc.

- Furthermor you said that the typical PU build is not very good at chasing people. Agreed. Mesmer generally have problems with chasing runners. But i don’t see why your build has better chasing abilities than the other mentioned PU builds.

- I do not understand why you slotted Nullfield. Your sword illus strip boons and for additional condi removal i would go for arcane thievery as it offers condicleanse and offence at the same time.

So i don’t see any advantages offerd by your build in comparison to Natsu’s or Osciat’s build.

playin a build that doesn’t fit your playstyle (even if subpar) is ok. But in a dungeon you are not alone and you depend on the others to do their job as well as they depend on you doing yours. Sadly most of the times going all zerker/stacking/reflecting is the best way to do so. in my opinion it is ok if you do not play a cooky cutter build, as long as you can deliver a bunch of dps and maybe some blocks/reflects/blinds.

But the “i play how i want attitude” doe not give you the right to run a build in a dungeon that doesn’t deliver any of that. if you think it is ok to be a guardian in pvt camping on staff, a ranger using double bear longbow in 200 range or a mesmer that only uses gs and refuses to improve in going melee… there is plenty of solo content for you.

just imagine you would join a soccer team and when the match starts you pick up the ball run in circles for 90 minutes straight and scream repeatedly “Yolo i play how i want, screw you elitist soccer players”…

on EU there is a well known group that is running this comp and wreaks havoc everywhere they go.

+1 Natsus Blackwater build. Love it and it’s trolling abilities since the first minute i tested it. The traits synergice well and it allows a well rounded playstyle.

To the issue with menace’s build. I think this contest should be free of any animosities that focus on certain players. let’s be sportsmen here. There are couple of other threads for this issue.

the frequency by which you come up with new twisted versions of your build shows that it is impossible to test them for a reasonable amount of time.

therefore i hereby name your build and all it’s iterations to come: The Menace: plague of the forums, lingering curse of the reasonable mind, grim contester of patience.

to put it shortly your build offers no advantage to p.e. natsus blackwater build or the altered version by osciat. both have more access to stealth and better condition cleanse. you just took 10 points out of these builds and invested them in inspirations which is useless . wouldn’t even waste 3 silver to test it.

how often do you encounter full range classes? berserker lb rangers drop like flies when you are close. or you talking about rifle warriors? haven’t seen one in ages. Staff eles? tell me (speaking of wvwvw)

I can’t believe i am answering again. Honestly i had a look at your new build it is… absurd.
You put 10 points into inspiration just to reduce veil to 72s. Why??? This trait only makes sense in a glamour heavy build. You could use traited torch and drop the pistol (or go sc/t sw/p). You would gain stealth on a 24s cd as well as condicleanse. But wait that would be natsu’s built…

Bunch of blocks? You have one block on scepter and sometimes aegis from chaosstorm. Guess what necros can trait for unblockable marks. Mirror? (Necros Scepter skills don’t count as projectiles). And even against other condi heavy classes that build will simply will not do it.

I am sorry but i don’t think that you tested that build for more than 5 minutes just just let it be.

- for the love of good if you wanna make a build. test it. test it for a reasonable amount of time (a week or even more). Duell every class in the game (no upleveled opponents dont count). Learn about it’s up and downsides and when it is well polished make a thread. Finalize the build and only then post it on the forums not the other way round.

- Give it a reasonable name that reflects the playstyle (shatter, phantasm, stealth whatever). No one cares about the name of the build if it is good. The other way around things get ugly. The name won’t better your chances to win anything though you win in beeing ultimatively annoying.

- If you ask people to test your build and no one answers (guess why), don’t bump your thread. Go find duells do the dirty work yourself. Maybe record a video and show us how well it does in game.

I promise you if you keep on with that behaviour (and i do not care how often you apologize and state that everything is just a big misunderstanding). You will get trolled/ignored hard!

Hello everyone,

as i got a bit bored of doing wvwvw on my main i decided to roll a warrior to have abit more of variety.
I am planning to run a 0/10/30/0/30 spec with hammer and sw/sh. As my guild doen’t do much wvwvw i sometimes run with a pug zerg and quite often find myself roaming solo or in small groups.

My question is which gear should i acquire? rather go for soldiers/valkyrie mix or full knights?
I know that i can’t have the optimal gear and trait setup for both roaming and zerging but i would like to know what experienced warriors would recommend.
