Not sure if this came with the current update of if it’s a bug at all, but the dungeon vendor has three additional tabs in the Sorrow’s Embrace armor section for me. Offering a set of shoulder armor (medium/light/heavy) for the low price of a set of furnace pauldrons (medium/medium/medium). Currency tooltip visible.
Didn’t know you get kicked back in if you leave. That explains all the afking. Still prefer people joining the uphill battle though. Being outnumbered all the time sucks.
Still wonder if afking is reportable conduct.
A game has ten players, one deciding to go afk ruins any chance for the game to become an enjoyable experience for the other nine. Non-participants make people stop enjoying/playing pvp altogether. Especially if they decide to ruin team chat while standing around. At least have the common courtesy to just kitten off entirely. Still annoying but might make the match not affect mmr/ladder.
Cannot fathom the arrogance of feeling justified in ruining the game because someone perceives the matchup to be: not sufficiently balanced/not enough fun/already lost with 300 points to go. And then blaming the other players or the game devs.
But this might be like preaching to the choir. Can’t a player count as if not present (left the game) when inactive for over a minute? (Something that isn’t fooled by putting the self heal on auto-cast.) They often hide in an obscure corner of the map. Ater baiting in chat or stating something like hotjoin team/gg/good luck.
Assuming there is any sort of penalty for leaving the game. Wiki says dishonor isn’t active. Or, if possible, add a report option with a low chance of abuse.
Is going afk during the match a reportable offense, and if so, which option should one pick? Happens sometimes when you’re 100 points down in unranked or ranked. They don’t always fly off the handle.

According to this we may have either 10 or 16 mmrs. How large is the mmr reduction for starting on a new profession? Second line under the configuration header:
Rating default=“1500” min=“100” max=“5000” max-change=“300” profession-ratio=“0.25”
What does 0.25 mean? Does this value vary within a certain range? Is the rating gained by playing mesmer uncoupled from the rating on necro? Or does it affect the ‘core’ rating as well as a specific profession multiplier?
Aye the NPCs really need a buff. The elite guards are made of paper and deal virtually no damage. A single player can take out the entire base in a short amount of time. Archers and guards not prioritizing NPCs is of great benefit to the enemy.
Would be cool if we could build some anti personnel turrets with supply. Guards are just there to harass abandoned skritt. I’d prefer turrets.
The game mode was amazing. Having a real sense of progression and running around dealing with various objectives > being confined to certain spots to maximize points per tick.
First image is the residual poison afflicted by many necro scepter 1 chains with Putrid Curse. Ticks once per second, sometimes for lower amounts.
Going through the chain only once is more consistent. Had barbed precision trait active.

Had a ranked queue pop, entered match.
During the match, around the actual start, another queue popped for at least three people in the match. It filled up partially before going away again. I did not click accept. Afterwards the number of participants went from 5v5 to 3v1.
A minute or so later another queue popped during this match which I did accept. Picked a map again. Was then placed in a new 5v5 which had just been made (in waiting for players phase with well over a minute on timer). No further queues appeared nor did any of the people present there seem to know about multiple queues. Possibly unrelated but this match was completely lopsided.
Have had a second queue pop during a match before, a while ago. Showed up for all participants but didn’t seem to affect the match. Perhaps because all accepted. Don’t remember if the map selection had the same result or if it had any effect.

Pinging the minimap in a pvp match once generates a neverending regular ping in that location. Can spam the whole minimap with those infinite pings.
Groups of two at my level are often glued together, making the match more difficult.
Should consider player performance before and after disconnect/absence as a factor in the amount of points deducted. Point deduction purely based on invisible win chance is a bit crude. Especially if win chance is calculated by comparing wildly fluctuating MMR values.
Can we gain the ability to save preset builds (equipment/traits/slot skills) ?
Guild tried to get to Deputy Brooke but everyone gets random error messages that end up closing the game client.
EDIT: seems to work now.

Most enemies do not respawn. Only saw some respawns in Drakkar Spurs, where the corrupted ice shards and the elementals that fight kodan icehammers do reappear.
This happened before.
Yes the map is looking quite empty. No champs, no normal enemies, no bunnies.
This thread’s been necroed from page 25 or so.
The new change is amazing, no longer need to sacrifice stats for MF gain. Drops are more valuable and there’s constant progression. The Diablo paragon system was a similarly great idea.
The dungeon rework makes it a waste of a slot essentially. On the same boat as the MF gear. Would not have invested my time-gated laurels in Gold and Magic Find things if I’d known that they’d be useless 6 months down the road. Low ROI with my playstyle
Was also worried about my utility slot amulets becoming obsolete; but luckily they did cover that with the versatile omni-infusions.

Ye won’t be able to get the mini Horrik
Nevermind talking to Mai in that 3 day window
Loved the dungeon though; hope they add all the living story dungeons in as fractals at least.
This is a valid complaint:
Every update has changes that have not been documented. Always have to check the wiki for a more complete image; which leaves me wondering what else they left out of their notes. Would like a minor updates/fixes section.
The karka queen section of the last set of update notes still leads to numerous confused Southsun adventurers. Don’t understand why this isn’t edited out. Not much to localize about a deletion. Yes it’s mentioned elsewhere, but not where everyone checks for updates.

- Guild leaderboards. The guild name is already indicated upon match start. Though this might require a new ranking system.
- Special, more rewarding, monthly tournaments hosted by ArenaNet.
- Separation between spectators and players. So the number of spectators doesn’t interfere with the number of players.

Dislike that the minor traits are not optional. Would love to have an off switch on some. Agreed on the reanimator, which is more of a hindrance rather than a bonus. Never lives long enough to actually reach a target, but does manage to ruin some aggro while it’s there. Really prefer that slot being empty instead.
- Also not fond of:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Electric_Discharge
Silly idea to put a random aggro bolt into the speedboosting traitline. Avoided speccing that far to avoid the combat mode trigger and its massive speed reduction. Slot’s better off being empty!
- And the major:

For giving me false hope sometimes. Not everything wants to give out experience. Can be hard to tell what doesn’t at times.
Feels good to get that out of the system ^__^
Beats me why they didn’t split RTL into a pve and a pvp version. Reducing it by 75% is a pretty massive change. Going to have to constantly swap weapons from inventory for running around now.
Also they didn’t really nerf bunkers as much as every other viable build.
The number of bunker eles in spvp might actually increase with these nerfs. They reduced ele mobility, survivability and damage. Bunkers have enough survivability to make up for the reduction and aren’t as affected by the mobility and damage nerf.
I agree that the wave should do more damage (range, recharge). But I’m sure everyone can agree that it’s lacking in the patch notes. Otherwise it’s going to be regarded as a bug that needs fixing.
Why I like hotjoin:
- No roster queueing and match start waiting timer
- Map variation
- Bigger teams
- When someone leaves you can get a replacement
- It’s possible to face people from all levels; much better and worse
The tournament system has way too much waiting time and constant leavers ruining any chances of a decent match. I’m not going to jump through hoops because of a silly reward chest or a higher rating on the kittenboard.
Yes custom arenas might offer what hotjoin does now, but then I’d have to worry about the match rules.
Leaving a rated match quickly and requeueing should be discouraged. It ruins the chances and rating of the other 3-4 people in the team. Would love a system that gives an hour downtime after the 2nd leave of the day.
Well if space is the issue, you could always add: http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Interface.jpg + resizing and moving options!
If the cooldowns are grouped under their type, e.g ‘sigil cd’ or ‘trait cd’, the player can enable certain types to show up in the (loot) list.
Probably just to counter pvp bunkers. Who could do with some counters. Or they could introduce an entire hex debuff system:

To expand on the above; I’ve tried a pae kernel hack. It did indeed not solve anything. If anything, GW2 picked up a habit of randomly freezing. Mainly when typing or opening the guild roster. The thing Nitro linked does work. Haven’t had any errors anymore since I’ve used the “bcdedit /set increaseuserva 3072” in prompt. (and threw out the kernel hack again)

Have the same issue with Windows 8 at 32bit. Used a kernel change to allow for more RAM usage; but this did not help much.

A party full of people new to the game aren’t going to finish this without a guide or an entire day to spare. Doubt they’d get past the spiders at the start.
Experienced people are more likely to bring yellow cultural armor, various weapons and modify traits and utilities per encounter. And know where to stand and to dodge.
But Anet said (paraphrasing) that they design dungeons to be hard, not for everyone to roll through. They might redesign the other dungeons later to make them harder as well. I like the changes; they’ve given all bosses more damage and abilities and reduced their health. There are more dungeons that could do with a change like that. E.g. HotW bosses and grenth in Arah.
I see, thanks for the info.
Added the bags to the leather bag page and the glory vendor pages on the wiki, using copy pasta; assuming they’re all 500 glory:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Leather_Bag
And could someone upload a bear /rank or finisher on youtube while we’re at it? :P
Just saw that they sell leather bags for glory and now I’m wondering what the rank 50 and rank 60 glory vendors offer in the leather bag department. Nothing on dem wiki’s.
Rank 1: four and eight slot bags
Rank 10: 10 slot bag
rank 20: 12 slot bag
When was this added?
Reviving this thread as there is more data supporting OPs hypothesis. (i.e possible bloating causing issues) Several people are reporting load time decreases and FPS increases after deleting/renaming the local.dat file.
The other local.dat renamers:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/18eqxv/i_just_cut_my_load_times_to_a_fraction_of_what/
Inspired by this vid from october last year:
http://youtu.be/w4GM7mqGKUQ
What does the local.dat file store? How would deleting it improve performance? Is it advisable to do so?
Same issue here. Had plants, doll painting, turrets and hill capture and then this happened:
Completing the soldiers and turrets both awarded another Toxx trigger. Third trigger actually spawned him.
Edit: was already mentioned in Wintersday section. It is known.

(edited by Gummi.4310)
On that note, why does “Best Performance” put the shadows on “low” rather than “none”?
Have similar issues as OP, but running the game in full screen mode and best performance does seem to have a positive effect.
It seems that the corpse loot in dungeons got reduced as well. Previously I got a consistent 7+ silver off of a certain champion and 21-22 silver off of the final boss. Currently don’t receive any gold at all from these. (intentional?) Also receive the bugged token and gold rewards. E.g. 15 or 30 for paths/dungeons I haven’t done before.
Would love more detailed information about game mechanics like DR in Developer Updates like in GW1. Or know what the base magic find chance is!
