I think it was a mistake tying both PvE and PvP together like this. You should still get gold from PvP, but THIS is a mistake in my opinion.

I get what you guys are saying about “you gotta hit a thief somehow” yadda yadda, but hitting someone while they’re invisible just doesn’t sound right.

Perhaps, it’s just because I’m a warrior and have no trouble with thieves 95% of the time. Which isn’t necessarily a good thing.

I do not play thief first off. However, I have noticed that my “Volley” skills follows thieves if they go stealth. Damaging them while they are invisible.

There are several other skills that do this as well. It almost seems as if it’s intentional.

What is the point of stealth then?

However, I thought the scaling for earning relics was 1-9, 10-19, 20-29 etc?

Not 1-10,11-20,21-30?

That was the old system. Well in the old system you didn’t get any for 1-9. This changed with the Fractured release. Maybe they wanted to make it slightly easier to get rings now that they’ve made Agony unavoidable at some of the higher levels.

Awesome. Thanks.

You just described a warrior. You would probably also enjoy a Ranger or Engineer.

Norn and Human are good classes for all three of these professions. So is Charr (for engineer and warrior)

But ultimately, your race is your choice and preference!

Good luck.

PvP is severely unorganized

in Suggestions

HARRELSONNN.4872

I loved playing GW1 and still overall enjoy playing GW2 very much so. However, I am a bit disappointed in the lack of structure the game has. Especially since GW1 was so organized.

PvP is a mess.

1. Classes are unbalanced. I do understand that balancing classes perfectly is impossible. But honestly, it can be improved in GW2. Perhaps add in more skills to the game to increase variety.

2. It is clear the PvP team has no idea what they are doing. (I do not care if this is considered offensive, it is blatantly obvious.) . There is only one game mode. Tournaments have also changed numerous times.

3. Reward System. There used to be Free and Paid tournaments and there no longer are, yet the tokens are still used. (This has to be extremely confusing to a new player). I also have no idea how to get many rewards that are added in.

Overall, I love this game. Its just a bit of a mess in terms of PvP.

Is the real problem with Warriors raw damage?

in PvP

Posted by: HARRELSONNN.4872

HARRELSONNN.4872

Long time warrior player.

I remember when the game came out, warriors were considered “OP” often. Now, its the complete opposite. There is no source of raw damage. Even with Greatsword. You have to hit everything perfectly and it still even then is hard to put out good damage.

I’ve stopped with the GS.

I would think a “warrior” would have one of the raw best damage outputs.

I love warrior and just hope some changes will come soon.

Self honesty leads to wisdom.

So how are the warrior buffs coming?

in PvP

Posted by: HARRELSONNN.4872

HARRELSONNN.4872

My opinion is that the raw damage isn’t there anymore.

You would think a “warrior” would do good raw damage(Not happening).

I’ve had to resort to Sword/ Sword from greatsword because it was very hard to do good damage with it, due to technicality and sequence.

I dont know, the raw damage output just isnt there anymore. Its VERY hard to achieve it. Which is why I’ve resorted to Sword/ Sword.

If you’re looking for a perfect game, you’re never going to find it.

There are plenty of things to do with friends. WvW, PvP, Dungeons, Leveling( if you both choose the same story, and you can help each other anyway) Fractals, JPs, etc.

If you dont feel you have enough skins leveling, that should be more motivation for you to level to 80.

Do you feel PvP is lacking structure?

in PvP

Posted by: HARRELSONNN.4872

HARRELSONNN.4872

I personally think structure and order are one of the most important things in games.

I’m not here to talk about classes being unbalanced etc. I’m talking about “what is going on???” in terms of tournaments and tokens, and all together. It seems I’m being thrown stuff where I’m not given much insight (like skins and how to get them). It was ordered when released, but if I were a new player I would be confused to no end, especially when it comes to Free and Paid tokens.

I look back at GW1 pvp, and it was simply amazing.
Huge tournaments, guild battles, etc. HUGE prizes.
Even casual play with arenas.

It just seems to me the PvP side of this game is not cared for.

The Guardian is specified in the lore as being a modernization of Paragon/Monk traditions. “Save yourselves!” was one of the Paragon’s most useful shouts back then. I loved the class, regardless what ANet or the playerbase thought of it, and miss my Paragon dearly. Having played a lot both Monk and Paragon Professions back then, I enjoy how the Guardian turned out to be (it’s not a Paladin-like class, not by a longshot, though many still think so.)

To point out, “Save Yourselves” was a WARRIOR skill in GW1, it’s just that Paragons were better at using it.

Personally I’d like to see some sort of Heavy or Medium armor class that uses Halberds/Spears and the like. Some sort of Lancer class type thing. Lots of gap-closer/opener skills and the like.

Honestly I think the guy who is talking about new weapons is right.

I think we can expect to see new weapon types and races such as kodan, tengu, etc before we ever see new classes.

As much as id love to see dervish make it back into the game i doubt its coming back. They were afterall worshippers and avatars of human gods which makes them not make sense for the other races and i dont see how charr sylvari and asura could take the form of anything since they dont really have anything they could avatar as.

Keep in mind, Avatars don’t have to be part of it. All of the classes from GW1 have some major differences in GW2.

From the guardian page on the wiki
“With the turmoil in Elona and the spread of the Order of Whispers into other lands, more Paragon teaching showed elsewhere in Tyria. These teachings melded with other traditions, and over time, the guardians and their abilities can be found throughout the world and among all the races”

In other words the paragon aint coming back .

Yeah I’m leaning Derv now. There is really no hint of derv in game, especially since they wield a scythe.

I would love to see a 3rd heavy class of any kind. Paragon seems cool (The title you get for winning matches in spvp on a guardian is paragon, so another reason to doubt?). Obviously they would have to make a lot of reconstructing but i can definitely see another heavy armour class coming a long soon enough along with another race, just what it will be is a mystery, as i can’t think of anything that would have much of a different play-style to warrior or guardian, as they cover a lot of bases in the combat department, but it will be interesting to see what comes along.

You know, I just had a revelation. The more I think about the more I see Derv making a comeback. Either added as a medium or they make them heavy armors. They were hugely popular and make some sense too.

Is Paragon in sight for the future?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

HARRELSONNN.4872

For those unfamiliar, Paragon was a GW1 heavy armor spear throwing class.

Let me give reasons why I think Paragon is almost predictable.
1. There are 2 heavy armor,3 medium armor and 3 light armor classes. Paragon would add to the heavy armor giving 3 classes.
2. In GW1, expansions were released with 2 classes each. I feel as if they would implement a new class and bring back a GW1 one.
3. Paragon is unique. As many people weren’t fond of them in GW1. It was weird to be a plated warrior throwing spears.

However, I’m also doubtful for some reasons.
1. Spears are already aquatic weapons. I cant see there being land and aquatic spears unless they make them work both ways. So if you equip a spear it will work on land and underwater.
2. Paragons are warrior like. Paragons have shouts, chants, etc. I feel this would be too warrior like. Unless they did some reconstructing overall.

What do you think we could see in the future??

Self honesty leads to wisdom.

in PvP

Posted by: HARRELSONNN.4872

HARRELSONNN.4872

I think there are plenty of viable builds for each class. The problem is people either don’t experiment or there is 1-2 that make the other viable builds look bad. Trust me this happens in all games. It very hard to create several viable builds without 1 or 2 being that much more viable.

In ever single one of the instances your video showed the warriors specific build would have zero impact over any other build at all.

That being said if you show me footage of you in a LEGIT tourney match winning in 1v1s and/or making an impact in 2v2s up to 5v5s then I’ll gladly say you;ve got a good build, otherwise I remain highly skeptical.[/quote]

I know about the mistake on the footage( beginner mistake). Ive been using the build for several months, (updated it due to patches) I dare say its one of the best 1v1 builds for warriors.
