Speaking of low-intrusive gliders, I really like Shattered Bloodstone, the only one I’ve bought. There’re special effects, but you can clearly see character model.
They won’t make an income if they don’t provide their playerbase with options. So it isn’t reasonable to request this. You may as well ask Anet to stop making content altogether.
Actually, the biggest offenders are craftable items and infusions. Some gemstore items look silly or out of place, but not complete eyesores.
I really wanna know why people believe that Necros, Rangers and Warriors are more noob friendly professions for soloing open world?
Because mesmers are too convoluted, like every skill has double or triple effects. And they’re very weak at low levels, while other classes do exactly what expected of them.
And i just don’t enjoy playing an evil pink fairy that screws with other people minds.
So far, I like the Necro. Thing is, I usually play MMO’s solo. Is GW2 mostly do-able solo play? If I want to play mostly solo, what is a good race and class for that? Thoughts and help on all of this greatly appreciated
If you’re still choosing what class to play, you can go into Heart of the Mists (PvP lobby) by clicking on crossed daggers at the top left. You character will temporary become lvl 80, and you could test your abilities (don’t forget to buy other weapons) on a golem there and see what you like. But could feel overwhelming at first, if you didn’t have a high lvl character before.
Reaper – necromancer elite specialization is great for soloing, but it’ll be a while until you get all hero points to fully unlock it. But if you like a baseline necro, it won’t be a problem.
I’ve been away for more than a year, and while still like my old character, I think of making a new one too (without Tomes of Knowledge). Leveling helps me to connect with the character.
I don’t have a lot of classes to choose, but Renegade with piercing trait for shortbow, and Vengeful Hammers from Jalis legend should be good for tagging.
To me, the worst maps are Kessex Hills, and parts of Harathi/Gendarran. It’s just dirt, centaurs and human architecture. No interesting stories or spectacular views.
I like Violet Night/Midnight Sky (default colors) with red eyes, but for this particular face only. With some red or dark orange night glow.

I’d rather see time devoted to improving guild functions, missions, and halls rather than to player house. Guilds serve groups, but housing mostly serves individuals (and those who leech off their nodes).
I spent quite a lot of gold and materials into guild hall upgrades at the start of HoT, then I had to take a leave from game for a few months, then I return and see that I’m removed from a guild. Never again. It looks like Guild Hall is a housing for megalomaniac guild leaders.. others are just peons.
Would love to have a personal housing or upgrade to home instance.
I’m very excited for Soulbeast. It seems to be all that I wanted for Ranger, and Ranger was my favourite class before switching to Revenant at HoT release.
Renegade for condition Mace+Axe/Shortbow build looks interesting too.
Please add this interface option. On some classes it’s fine the way it is now, but I tried a Necromancer with Vampiric Presence, and it adds an unbearable amount of numbers popping up in combat.
Ok, not really serious topic, but it seems like the Charr and Asura woulbe be the happiest races, since first are militant anti-theists, and second are science-nerds.

Almost. You paid for Living Story season 3 and a features pack that were rolled into one so they could be boxed and packaged and sold as an expansion.
Well, I hope there won’t be a surprise like you need to log in every two weeks or PAY for access to LS3. I know for sure that I won’t be able to log-in for almost a month in spring.
Tyria on release – 25 maps + 5 race cities + LA. Long Personal Story and then Living World. Also dungeons and lots of different armors and weapons.
HoT on release – 4 maps, one of which isn’t even playable outside of event. Very short and rushed Personal Story. Maybe Living World in the future, but definitely not bi-weekly, since more than a month already passed.
Same price ( I even got GW2 for 25$ during sale).
I came to this game for exploration and solo open world content, not for timed events or raids – sorry, but WoW does raiding much better and I still have the account.
I would ask why you no longer play it…or why you’d get the expansion for a new account. To each their own.
Because for 1.5 years all i did was basically creating, leveling and deleting characters, without deciding which I actually should play… So lots of time played and not much achieved.
On new account I decided to play only one character (sylvari revenant) and see how fast I can get achievements, Legendaries and so on.
You could have done that with a free slot on your old account and kept access to older content.
Sure i can for story, but Anet decided to put a lot of Tyria mastery points into LS2. I have experience, but don’t have enough points to unlock some masteries.

Today I bought a new account for HoT (want a fresh start), but I’d like to keep my character names, so I’m going to delete them on this account.
Will they be available immediately, or I’ll have to wait some time?
Just create an ugliest and butchiest female, and say everyone that you’re actually a male.
Or the most thin and babyface human male, and pretend to be a girl.
This way you’ll wear pants or dress on an “different” gender.
Hard mode for personal play, solo only – yes, it’s great. Play it on your own pace, progress gradually, get better and so on.
Hard mode for – hell no, because it gets hijacked by metajerks, so most players are excluded.
For example, in another game I really like Brawler’s Guild, but serious raiding isn’t for me anymore.
So you’re still just refusing to adhere to the rules of whatever community, k. It’s unreasonable for you to think a community like that would accept you. If you don’t want to be accepted by that community, then there is no problem. It’s only when a person that doesn’t adhere to the rules of a community demands to be accepted into that community that there are problems.
If it’s a special community, then make a guild and a closed forum, so you don’t have to show up on LFG at all. Because now it seems that meta-speedrun is default, and everything else is a deviation… meaning you hijacked LFG for yourselves.
However, there are two problems with that idea: (1) convincing ANet, who don’t want to split the player base and who have done slightly more than nothing with the launch dungeons over 2.5 years; and (2) reward jealousy.
(3) There’re also pseudo-elitists, playing at low skill level, yet with great demands about how other’s play. At least, I’ve seen them in WoW.
They broke hidden thief many months ago and have yet to fix it. They think it is fair that some of us have to waste valuable time hitting the “1” key manually now due to their lack of testing, while thousands of other people don’t have that issue. Imagine trying to run in a fight while having to continually press “1” “1” “1” “1” 1" “1” “1” 1". It hampers greatly the ability to enjoy and play wvw effectively.

Imagine if you can that you were born you, as you are now in every way, but were the opposite gender. If you can’t have empathy for your fellow man then you’re the one who needs help.
Sure, I do have empathy and pity their situation. What I don’t agree with is the path of acceptance, instead of healing. I just think that encouraging makes it worse. It would be like encouraging alcohol or gambling addict.
What I think these people need, is help from doctors, psychologists and mentor role models who will teach them to accept who they actually physically are, and not their wishful fantasies.

Recently started a guardian, I like the class, but constant white-blue flashing is really tiresome for the eyes, especially staff 1, trident, symbols and mace/hammer third strike in auto-attack chain.
Would be great to have an option for changing them into golden lightning or something else more pleasant to watch.
