Now that China has launched we’ve freed up a lot of development resources back to get to those things. We also have a lot of people at ArenaNet and you’ve only seen what some them are working on this last year or two. Since we can’t share a road map of what they’re doing per our company policy, all I can answer is I hope when we’re able to show you what all we’ve been doing in total someday in the future – you’re as excited as we are about it.
Does this mean you are working on something much bigger then just LS2 and feature packs?
This game also has a global TP, not a server based TP. As far as I know, there isn’t another game TP that’s within an order of magnitude of scale of this one.
BTW, global TP seems like a great decision. For you to manage, and for us to use alike.
Thanks for that.
Last time I talked with a staff member in game, they said it was not reportable. It did come off as the in game staff would like it reportable AND ban-able.
I’ve caught wind that some of the “X gold” listings is code for “X usd” which means these players are making REAL money off the sale of dungeon paths.
Eventually ANet will have to set up the dungeons to have henchmen to fill in the party gaps so people can play the dungeons.
Wow, that looks really bad. And considring you see it basically 99% of your time spent ingame, it’s really sad they release armors like that all the time
I can’t live without it, I use it all the time.
I use all of the movement skills of all classes I play all the time, from towns thru open maps to instanced content.
For low levels, I start with minor sigil of speed (no level limit) with food that gives few seconds of swiftness on kill.
Untill 80 I go with these sigils and food, and any other active or passive source of movement speed increase I can get.
At 80 I use swiftness on kill food in open world and everything else in instances.
If I wanna stop by somewhere, I will stop and sit there for hours with good company.
Tabs or favourites (or that sort of thing) in friend list. We need to organize it, it’s important. It’s people!
Status selection prior to logging in (on launcher).
New status (N/A or DND or that sort of thing). Properties:
- selecting this new status would prevent anyone from PMing to person that is N/A or DND. This way people see Im busy or dont want to socialize, yet I dont have to “hide” in invisible
- PMs from people in your favourites would go through
EDIT: I realized this would be easily checkable by anyone and probably isnt a good social suggestion.
To fix this, I suggest:
instead of PMs from non-favourited contacts not going through, make them grey and not playing the PM sound. This way it would be easy to distinguish what I want to read and what I dont, while Im playing content or doing whatever.
On top of this, backspace reply would only react to the pink, prioritized PMs.
What boggles the mind is when I found the newly released content made specifically for charr (i.e. hair styles) clips heavilly into heads, horns of all shapes and ears. Come on, that’s not even lazy effort :[ I know we’re measly ten per cent of your playerbase, but that’s still a few thousand people.
I definitely support the mane idea as inspiration. The various basic styles we got with launch were good, but I have to struggle to find more than one goodlooking hairdo from the exclusive BL set.
It looks like when they rush things before deadlines or consider how much effort should be put into it, they not only consider the race popularity, but gender popularity within the race as well.
Look at outfit differences between male and female charr for example.
Some that don’t clip with tail on males do clip on females, plus there are more charr specific features like tail decoration etc.
Where did you get the 10%?
Is there something official other then post-launch statistics?
Perhaps an average from more then one internet surveys?
Why is it, when I ask for experienced I get people who have never run a path before in their life? Then when I open a group and say “Teaching, Open to anyone but be nice” I get someone who wants to pop in and take over the group and speed through it like its some kinda speed run?
I am all in favor of people being able to run the kinda builds they want as long as the other 4 members of the group are in agreement. But I am not going to take a brand new friend who has no idea how to play the game through in a zerker only exp group, its going to be bad forever everyone involved.
On a side note: Why am I cursed with bad internet right now and I am forced to spend time reading the forums due to lag when I would rather be playing…rant over, at least that made me feel better.
Question open to everyone: how do you stand pugging for long periods of time?
I think friend on/off messages should be separated from “game messages” tbh.
I don’t want to stare at my log tab the whole time.
I believe the whole friend list/PM system could use new features like better friend list organization, chat with tabs (like previous, 12 y.o. MMO I used to play) and such things, so I’m having high expectations from HoT.
From a PvE perspective, being able to maintain DPS rotations without breaking them too frequently is a big one. The best example is people calling warrior a faceroll class but then if I watch them play their rotations are complete garbage. Sure, playing a class badly is faceroll, but that applies to any class.
I’m maining a warrior, always trying to do my best to be as effective as possible, expecially with the DPS rotation. It makes a huge difference.
But the fact that most warriors aren’t capable of doing this doen’t make the class harder.
In fact, it just makes people camping GS 1 2 3 simply uncapable, lazy and lame players.
Whoever tells me warrior is a complete faceroll and super boring and them camps GS all the way just lost all the respect in my eyes.
Revamp the PvE commander tags! Give us features to better organize big zergs!
Also, whats up with the language filter? Why is it enabled by default? That’s the most annoying and organization-breaking thing I’ve ever seen in a game. Thanks…
There are still dozens of people that have no idea about it. Even commanders!
Alot of commanders are complaining that guys around never listen.
Well, if they can’t see what you are writing them..
And thats great. But I rather had paid another €50 for an expansion or twice for a second expansion by now. This it not about expecting things for free.
Of course, but if you look at their dev speed, they couldn’t create expansions. I mean ,consider that they’d have brought out two expansions so far, package everything they’ve done so far, new skills, changes, story, events into two expansion packs. That’s what you’d get. That’s… tiny. And if you want to pay 50€ for such a pack, fair enough.
But to me that’d be the polar opposite of what GW2 was so far, a super-high-value experience. That price level would be more akin to horse armour DLC in Skyrim. :P
I think you underestimate the amount of work that go’s into these LS things. They might not add much from a content perspective but look for example to the Toxic Alliance LS. Kessex Hillls got edited what.. 4 times? There was an instance added that acted much like a dungeon. And during the LS we did see many small instances that all required a lot of work. All the voice overs that had to be done. It really was a lot of work. It just was not very efficient to deliver content.
Based on seeing how much work must have gone into to LS I am pretty sure that if in stead of the LS 90% of there attention would have gone into creating an expansion I am sure they could have released an expansion after a year or maybe 1,5 years for the first expansion (because the first half year they would also have to spend more time on fixing things and adding festivals and so on, but on average one a year).
Those expansions would then maybe be a little smaller then what we might know from a games like WoW but it would for sure have been possible to add much more then what we have so far and would be able to be much more in line with what people expected.
Oh, you clearly have NO idea.
Yes it’s alot of work, but they all are paid professionals good at what they do, and they have development tools to create such content.
You simply said that their employees are incompetent and slow at their work, which isn’t true. Please take it back…
I have to agree in general principle with the OP.
Buying dungeon run completions is effectively the same as buying a levelling service.
Apples and oranges?
Or did you actually mean buying a leveling service that was legally done in other MMOs and NEVER against TOS, where you payed ingame gold, went afk for a few hours and a DD killed everything around you, so you could receive a party-shared exp and therefore got afk-leveled?
If yes, then you are correct, buying/selling paths for INGAME GOLD is the same as above stated.
It always bothers me whenever I play any of my charr characters. How exactly CAN they have a firm grip on anything when they have such giant claws? Obviously they can’t completely ball up their fist like every other race. I try to imitate the way they “ball up” their fists by closing by hand but instead of curling in the fingers, I leave them straight out. I don’t know about you, but that isn’t comfortable at all and I don’t see how to have a firm grip on things.
If you look at Rytlock in any dialogue videos, you can see his bottom tooth/teeth piercing through top of his muzzle.
When you get through that, you get through any design flaw.
They were a little upset with me for laughing so much at this xD
Ive got a guy wanting to teach me how to properly run P1 after we completed it with a pug.
So we came to ooze and he started to range it, claiming its faster then melee.
+1 from me.
I would like to run different builds, but I dont have the energy to remember them and swap many times a day.
Its a game, not a payed job.
BUT, if the option would be in game, it would be awesome.
2-3 profiles for everybody, extra profiles in shop. Let it come!
People don’t know what they want. Most the time they are fickle and wont even decide, then get mad at whatever is given to them.
But wait, isn’t it happening because the term “people” contains a lot of individuals, where each of them has different priorities, needs, desires?
I mean, that explains a ton, right?
A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals and you know it.

Hi,
Lares said “After researching the provided information, we will not be able to assist you with accessing this account.”.
I provided the game serial used to activate my account.
Provided my last and current home address (Ive moved and dont remember if I changed it or not).
Login email.
My full name.
My display name.
Character name.
I asked the support whats missing or whats wrong? Still no answer.
Im a bit worried I might not get my account back, since I provided everything needed and your support rejected me without specifying any details?
Im able to provide an ID scan.
Im able to provide last 3 gem card numbers used on my account.
Also several different details about my activity or what/ever.
This cant be true x.x
For others:
I secured my email, removed all authorized connection from GW2 account, then I found out I dont have the old authenticator app anymore. I cant remove it now to re-establish it again.
The whole chat/friendlist system needs major overhaul.
I agree invisible mode should be a high priority fix.
Same like with the party/kick system, right?
Well they are some kind of beautiful cats (as all cats are beautiful, right?). Look what Anet forums are using as a censored word replacement:
“kitten kitten kittening kitten #8221;
That’s not enough. I play twice as much and am actually consiering second ccount for dungeons and crafting.
I’m only afraid of one thing – joining a dung runs with 300 AP. Ill have to be prepared to paste-spam something like “second account, please dont kick” >.<
Having LFG tool in such obscure state months into the expansion is just so shameful for the company…
I hope they are preparing glorious, vision-fulfilling restart for the tool because it just takes too long.
I never heard anyone saying ele is a keyboard faceroll class.
It’s pretty complex and very fun to play in a decent group.
Full zerk ele in bad pug runs is a nightmare for me though.
And? what does that have to do with the old tools being objectively inferior to the new ones?
On one hand you have a tool that gives you a certain QoL. On other hand you have a tool that offers you the same QoL and a few extras. The second one is just plain better.
I noticed that people often mind when someone comes, requesting changes that are often big on impact and/or implementation, being very short-sighted, because of “I”, “me” and “mine”.
People, stop thinking all rewards should be for everyone.
Anet wanted to make the set super uber rare, to have its first owner after 4, 5 or even 6 years of after launch (AP gain drops over time + LS2 has less AP then LS1 etc.).
