Update on my warrior look.
Pure death!

This was actually announced LAST december to please the almost riot like tone, the forums had gotten back then, when precursors had reached and outragous 300g….

Lindsay, i think it´s about time we get some more concrete information on this….

Turtle – Not being secretive, just don’t wanna sit around and defend, what i think is an awesome build all the time, because there is always people with other preferences.

Yaki – I am talking from a WvW perspective and i am nearly unkillable in a 1v1 situation as it is, while i maintain damage enough to kill people. This 25% buff is pretty darn sick and will make the shouts heal for 2000+ without any healing gear.
Put that on top of Mango Pie, Healing signet, high native HP and a good chunk of toughness – and you’ll be pretty darn hard to kill.

The patch is also rumored to give my build access to the warhorn trait in tier 1 which could be interesting.

Well Chaos, in my opinion i like the healing approach, putting Weakness on a thief constantly going in and out of stealth, evading and teleporting all over the place is going to be challenging.

Space is completely spot on here! The fury boon is an essential part of the warriors arsenal.

To follow up on the boon duration in consideration to my build. I strongly advice to use Mango Pie food along with my build. Ups your healing/sec with about 70/80ish iirc.

Most dungeons are doable in full zerker armor with the emphasis realying completely on damage – So i wouldnt recommend it.

However, i like bringing support and sustain to dungeons and it seems Anet wants to do raids and harder world bosses, so the role of the sustain/tankier character, might come more into focus!

Also.. Although i am quite hard to kill now, rumors say that Vigorous Shouts will be buffed this tueday, upping the healing by 25% Base and increasing the coeffciency from Healing Power from 80% to 90% – So my build will be even more amazing!

(This is for WvW purposes – Roaming, 1on1 and mass blob fights)

I play a very tanky build with enough damage to actually kill people 1on1 aswell (this is important, because sacrificing too much damage will be boring to play – when you hit like a wet noodle)

Very high sustain/healing and enough damage to kill people – all the while you have enough mobility to pick and choose any fight you want or get away from!

Really good movie, nice build and good to see warriors rocking it out there.

I run a GS-S/SW build with heavy regen and shouts. Kinda want to try this build with GS/Hammer. Reminds me of back in the day when i ran hammer and sword/shield with perma swiftness.

You are just kittening yourself with 5 signets and numbing down the game to auto hits and dodging! With no means of utility and no means of sustainability!

I’d personally boot a 5 sig warrior from my group hands down. They bring nothing to the table and the argument that his dmg outweighs his lack of utility is nonsense!

But yeah feel free to try the game on hard kitten mode… If the warrior class wasn’t simple enough to play, lets equip 5 passive skills.. And im sorry to say i am a bigger fan of FGJ which brings as much dmg as your 5 signets put together! (Bc you give it to the whole group)

Btw I am not an exploiter and i have my legendary so quit your whining. Just because you aren’t smart enough to figure stuff out doesn’t mean everyone who worked hard and got their stuff is a cheater or an exploiter.

First its the precursors and now this.. It’s too expensive, it’s too hard.. Please give me legendary for free and no effort and lets have everyone run around with legendarys because then they are super special!!!!!

The only reason precursors were adressed was because they got out of hand and wasn’t realisticly obtainable! because the price went up faster than people could farm gold along with an increasing demand.

Now t6 materials is too expensive???? Get out of here. Go play the game and get some balls and accept a challenge.

At least now you can see the end goal and it’s actually farmable!!! What more do you want? My guildie has spend around a month and a half farming for Volcanus and is around 100 lodestones from it, when he gets it he is going to be the happiest little camper alive and thats how its supposed to feel like!

Keep QQing about these things and you’ll probably see changes, but you will kitten the game. Dev’s seem to listen to whining people who don’t get what they want when they want it!

I know how you feel. I have my legendary and i had to wait a few times for the temple.

In general wait for a server reset and when the server comes up go do the events and unlock it yourself.
This chain is very buggy and it’s pretty much perma down!

Also, if you wanna have a more fun time making your legendary, do clovers before gift of mastery, that way you can calculate exactly what you ned for your legendary and when you’ll get it!

I think it’s a nice little niche thing for people who want daggers the other way around.
Seriously though, what is your video settings, looks like you are running on the lowest settings possible, so why bother so much about graphics?

I am glad we weren’t nerfed, and frankly we don’t need a nerf. We are perfectly fine. Although there are some quality of life issues with skills.

The change to bullscharge is a bit vague, I’ve been removing the skill from my builds lately because of the general increase of people stacking stability builds and the skill not hitting or over shooting its targets 60% of the time.

Hammer F1/Sword charge needs fixing bad!!!!! The slightest of slopes and the skill hits nothing but air!! It bums down hammer a lot. Would be cool if you could actually use these abilities to leap of from ledges and hit people … And not do a hammer smash mid air.

Greatsword Rush, i know you’ve tried to fix this, greatswords hardest hitting ability misses 98% of the time because the charge mechanic of the skill is very poorly made. You either facecharge on the spot or overshoot your target and uppercut thin air.

I am surprised that these weren’t adressed, especially hammer F1, which is pretty gamebreaking!

There are numerous and warriors are always on the end of the list for fixes. Idk why, ever since release warriors have had very few fixes and none of the major issues have even been looked at!

Well Void. With full berserk gear, full full glass cannon (WARNING: You do not want to run this BS build in WvW) you can do 16-18k 100b if the circumstances are right on your own.

Now put this into a group scenario, a mob which you deal normal damage to, 25 stacks of Vulnerability (25% more damage taken) and in this case 18 stacks of might.

You can’t really put this up against WvW.

Are you seriously asking for advice on getting your abilities to hit for 50k in WvW? I mean, are you nuts? The toughest of tanks run around 30-33k hp and then you want good CC too?

What you are looking for my friend is an “I Win” button and i’m sorry man, this doen’t exist !

This thread is so wrong in so many ways.

First of, if you come from wow, see toughness as the same as resilience. Now does it make sense?

The top burst abilities hit me for a max amount of around 6k and i have 24k hp.

Stop nubbing around in glass cannon gear and whining that you get one shot. It’s in the kitten name of the build GLASS (as in break easily) Cannon!!! I eat your tears for breakfast, and no i don’t play rifle warrior.

In my opinion any sort of glass cannon apart from very few select classes who can avoid damage in other ways (Stealth, make one billion illusions or have a huge amount of elemental shields) is not viable at all.

Just to clarify “amour” is “love” in french and “armor” is the thing you put on to protect yourself against incoming attacks!

Greatsword has no condition damage so it’s a complete waste. Condition damage comes from bleeds, burns and poisens and that sort of thing. Might aswell be called DoT Damage.

As greatsword your dps stats are Power, precision and crit dmg, don’t for get toughness or vitality and don’t run a 5 signet build at lvl 80, the dps is lower than what you can achieve with other builds!

Gorge about your comment on PvE being easy and doable by 5 glass cannons. Might be true, you might have your occational wipe and it’s pretty stressfull dodging and jumping around ressing one glass cannon after the other.. Ever tried with a beefy guard or war and a water ele and 3 dedicated DPS? … So much easier! and not all that slower! This combined with the new dungeon coming where difficulty progressively gets harder and harder and harder i don’t think your theory of 5x glass cannon will get you very far!

That being said – warrior tanks are awesome in all parts of the game. Guardians might be able to soak more direct dmg on paper but they also hit like wet noodles. As a wammo warrior you will still be able to dish out semi good dmg and be VERY tanky.

I either run a bruiser greatsword/hammer build or i run a full wammo setup with shout healing

I wrote this in the “i have problems with condition thiefs” thred but, having melandru runes and -40% condition duration racks up a wopping 65% minus to all conditions on you! Equals to 65% less dmg from bleeds and a 10 sec cripple turns into a 3.5 sec cripple! Just examples!

And what is wrong with greatsword btw?
I run 4 parts soldiers 2 parts knights gear with soldiers/berzerk jewelry with 30 pts in defence and melandru runes.
I am not some full mong in 5 signets and zerk gear. Greatsword has many versatile and applicable builds!

I have tried pretty much everything. Mostly run a greatsword for mobility and aoe tbh and the fact that i have a legendary greatsword, so kitten too i guess lol. (Apparently you can’t say E – P E E N – lol)

I’ve tried the shouts warrior tanky build with axe/sword+shiled and a hammer to backup. That is very good and viable too. And really good for zergs.

In my oppinion warriors are the most versatile profession out there. You can amke pretty much any weapon setup viable!

Take it from a guy who has a legendary and grinded one up with his friend who now also has a legendary. I did the 1 recipe and i absolutely hands down tell you to do so aswell. The x10 recipe is too big of a risk. You are more likely to achieve the 33% chance on the one recipe rather than the 10×. You can be unlucky a lot of times with the 1 recipe without it hurting you too much.

Failing a x10 one is hurtful. Do the 1x recipe, do it!
My friend failed 4 or 5 times on the x10 and its not worth it. Only reason you would try this is to luck your way to your 77 clover and get say 8 out of 10. But you won’t get this more like 2 or 3 out of 10 depending on your luck.

My success rate on clovers 1 recipe was 28% which put me at like 600k for clovers combined. Not too bad!

Seriously.. The rewards from the chests are WvW rewards. Stop QQing about how you get killed in the wvw puzzles! It’s a pvp area, get better or get lost!

Warriors who have trouble with condition thiefs or other conditions builds in general (burn, bleed etc.) Try the Superior melandru runes and the -40% Duration on conditions food. This gives you -65% on conditions effectively reducing their damage by 65%.

This also makes it near impossible for people to cripple or kite you to death bc EVERY condition on you only lasts 35% of the time! Example would be 10 sec cripple is now 3.5 seconds! This is strong!

People saying warriors aren’t for wvw or pvp have either not figured out how to build or play the class yet or seriously have a l2p issue.

Me and my guild have a heavy warrior to everything else ratio and we theorycraft a lot on build. We mainly do wvw and atm most of us are running a Hammer/Greatsword build for heavy aoe dmg, mobility and control while still being able to perma bash/one shot squishies.

Calysto, you are trying to tell this guy that SOldier stats (Power,Vit and toughness) is bad for warriors? It’s argueably the BEST stats for warriors and more so the best stat combination for any class if you put it to the test wvw or spvp.

Strictly speaking DPS is not ONLY tied to traits. If you go the normal glass cannon (Zerk+divinity runes) i could probably out dps you in my tanky build because of my might stacking + duration build sitting on 25 stacks almost permanently in combat.

Talking DPS only is kinda lackluster in this game. You have to factor in survivability no matter how you look at it.
Remember survivability can be many things, dodging, X’s skill at dodging critical moves, damage mitigation, damage restoration etc.

Even if your theori concentrates on DPS only, you have to think about this. Time on target (ToT from now on) is one of the most important factors (especially in pvp).

You might be able to do good dps but if you don’t have any gap closer, stun breakers og defensive CDs your time on target will be a lot less than people who bring these things to the table.

But if you want the normal glass cannon build go with what Waar Kijk Je Naar wrote. I highly advice against these DPS only focused builds though!

All this speculation is all good and a little cute. But when people tell you that developers have CONFIRMED, that there is only the roulette of the mystic forge and random chest drops. You still want to continue to try and find the none existant recipe???

Why pay 100g for skill points? they are so extremely easy to get! And you can get 250 ectos pretty cheap now!

There is your problem right there. Game developers in the year 2012 should have a more open relationship to their community.

Putting out vague answers or comments once every 1 to 2 months just doesn’t cut it. I don’t see why there can’t be an ongoing conversation between player base and developer. We are in a symbiotic relationship – we can’t play the game if they aren’t making it, yet they can’t make the game if we ain’t buying it! (and continue to buy it, through the gem store, expansions etc.)

The precursor subject is probably the hottest topic in the whole game – only one comment has been made, from our dear Lindsey, that they are watching the prices.

This was a long time a ago when prices were at like half of what they are now!

I would like to share a few views and concerns with the rest of the crafting community/mystic forge heroes!

I am writing this out of concern for legendary as well as normal exotic crafting crafters.

A lot of good questions, point of views are being shared and a good amount of friendly and not so friendly discussions are being had in this little corner of the world! This is wonderful!!

Now the issue at hand is the responses of “red posters” or the lack thereof!!

First off you can’t find any recent replys from devs here on the crafting forum! First thread you find is the Foefire one and that response is what could be considered ancient on the interwebs!

That means they aren’t replying anything at all, or are responding to the least popular threads so they are being bumped out of existence, the first option being the most conceivable!

Personally I would just like an update on “the official precursor…” Where our dear Lindsey tells the community to calm down, they are watching the precursor prices and will take action, if they kept skyrocketing!
This was a long, long, long kitten time ago!
When the most expensive of precursors were sitting on 250g. Now the popular ones are at around 400g and together with the ever rising price of lodestones, I cannot see myself keeping my eye on the ball for a legendary!

This is btw from a guy who has 650+ hrs on his warrior to this day, which would take casual players very long! Averaging around 10hrs a day since the game was out!

Back on topic; We just want regular updates, to know what is going on, I would hate to spend a lot of time playing Wall Street on the TP and spend 350+ gold on a precursor, just to have the system reworked or drop chance considerably upped!

Grats though, I know of at least a few ppl who have the components but they either crafted sunrise first and thought twilight was a lot better or they transmuted the stats and cannot craft Eternity until it’s fixed!

The list of things needed for legendaries are getting so absurdly expensive. I’ve been steadily working my way towards Twilight.

I still need a precurser (350-400g), Onyx Lodestones (100 costs around 165g now), 100 icy rune stones 100g together with the recipes and the other mat.

I am not, and never will say, it should be easy, but seriously. The time it would take you to farm this lets say 8-900g is just.. I mean… I thouhgt.. I’m speechless!

Tbh these prices are encouraging 3rd party gold buying, sad sad sad state of things atm!.

OP: Great troll is great. However your knowledge of the profession is pretty obvious.

This build is like you say glass and is not bursty (due to the lack of frenzy).
Yes you can stand still and crit downed people for 19k – While almost getting killed by downed players in the process. But for a spec like this to land a slow 100b like that on anything is next to, if not completely, impossible on anyone who know anything about the game.

I give your whine thread a 3/10. In the time of one 100b a thief can fire of 3-4 abilities far out damaging this + they can be invisible. However the full 19k crit of a 100b should be put in context with the ability itself, it’s 6 attack swings and you are rooted.

For WvW glass cannon warrior is not viable, at all, in my book. You lack survival, will die to the tiniest of aoe and you have no utility, all the while you have very little ways of avoiding dmg. Bad build is bad!

Snow hits the nail on the head there. Prices like this only encourage people to buy from 3rd party sites.
It would be (for 90% of the people) too expensive to buy this amount of gold in the gem store and nearly impossible to farm3-400 gold for precurser and another 250g for other mats + more!

And i agree that the only people who can be against this is people sitting on the market or ones who have their precurser/legendary!

3-400g or 5-600g .. When we are on this level it doesn’t really matter. Either you were lucky playing the TP early or you have to buy your way up there. These rediculously high prices encourage buying gold from 3rd party sites, which is sad.

Actually farming 600g is not going to be a possible feat for most, if any, people!
