This time, in AB while a gold armor. Thanks for completely ignoring this issue. Let me reitterate that it’s actually WORSE now. It happens pretty much every time I use a gold armor in AB, very often when in BF, and in many other locations. In addition, I used to be able to ignore the crash notice and alt-tab back into gw2. I can no longer do that. Is this actually ever going to get fixed, or should I just expect that this will crash every hour or so? Is two weeks an unreasonably short time to expect a “Hey, we’re working on it”, or SOME form of response? Since, you know, apparently submitting a bug report via the crash notice does absolutely nothing.
(edited by Healy Unit.1023)
Just wanted to say that this is still happening. It’s become MORE frequent now.
UPDATE: Since this problem is getting worse, I’m posting my crash report.

Also, I noticed https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/GW2-exe-crashing-avutil-cpp/first#post4450768 . Nice to know this problem has been completely ignored for a year.
(edited by Healy Unit.1023)
So I’ve crashed a bunch of times in the last few days while on ‘ground’ level of Bloodstone Fen, between the Tomb of the Confessors PoI and the crater rim.
It seems to be when fighting a bunch of enemies, or a bunch of enemies with lots of AoE. I of course get a crash report (which I’ve submitted), the top of which reads:
Assertion: (m_sphereRadius + TOLERANCE >= m_boxExtent.x) || (m_sphereRadius + TOLERANCE >= m_boxExtent.y) || (m_sphereRadius + TOLERANCE >= m_boxExtent.z)
File: ..\..\..\Engine\Gr\GrBound.cpp(94)
and further down,sphereRadius = 1.#QNAN0, boxExtent = (1.#QNAN0, 1.#QNAN0, 1.#QNAN0)
NaN? Oh dear…
Normally I’d just, ya know, not go there and wait until some fix makes its way through, but I unfortunately need to be there for the Alari achieve (or at least for some of the pre-events).
Gotta love all the people here immediately going “Well it must be you!”. If a number of people are reporting the same issue, since a specific update of a specific piece of software… wouldn’t it just KINDA make sense to consider that as the route cause? I mean, I realize it’s easier to just throw the problem out and say “not us!” but that really does not help here. I just recently got a new computer (but significantly BEFORE the update!), an Asus gl752vw-dh74, and it should be MORE than capable of running gw2. But I’m sure we’ll just be told “It’s you!”.
Update: Apparently they’re now using screenshots from ESO! Or that’s what I’ve been told. I, of course, only play gw2. Ahem.
Hey all,
Hope this is in the right place, but I noticed this ‘game’ in my FB feed today, using what seems to be one of the Norn concept art bits from GW1.:
http://imgur.com/6vMILto
I can bearly tell if this is actually the same image or not, but in case ANet finds this unbearable, I wanted to at least bear a warning… okay I’ll stop.
But seriously, just in case this is worth pursuing. The image is relatively distorted, but it seems pretty close.
I’ve also made an animated gif with the original image.
If it’s needed, the URL it points to (I’d advise NOT CLICKING THIS!) is :https://apps.facebook.com/nightfalls-online/?fb_source=ad&scid=nf_us_l1_c07A_us02_xyc_dnf_2534&ad_id=6038569725110&page_type=16.
I would, of course, be happy to provide additional info if needed. No, I do not play that game, and I don’t intend to.

Yep. ArenaNet has screwed up the 64 bit client. If you currently need to use that client, please note that you are out of luck until they decide to fix it.
Same. It’s not us, ANet.
Hey Anet! Thanks for the reply! Oh, wait… you’re ignoring it as usual!
So… yet another event where anet can’t manage to figure out how to calculate rewards. Honestly, give me a real good reason why I should attempt this again.
Might as well not play this event, folks. It is, like the majority of new events, completely bugged. Odds are you will not get a reward.
Thanks for making this a complete pain to do, Anet. You made it so that I literally must stand around doing absolutely nothing for a half hour just to do a few minutes of activity. Is this really your idea of “engaging, dynamic content”?
I’m really, honestly trying to imagine why you’d implement a mandatory 30min wait between matches, instead of, you know, having them spawn as players join or something.
(edited by Healy Unit.1023)
Same. Whenever I leave the zone, or sometimes even when going to a new bell choir ‘instance’, I get DC’d.
Right clicking on the monk’s beer stein ([&AgGzXAAA]) , obtained from Brother Vince, crashes the client. I’ve tested it twice, and it crashed both times.
Someone needs to make videos of these with the Dr Who Theme song, possibly just an endless loop of the beginning part of our chars floating~
Here ya go:
http://youtu.be/mWG-EwPwTg8
So with the monthly having JUST rolled around, I’ve checked my monthly achievements panel – and noticed that the LA mega-event seems to be giving me credit for DUNGEON participation. I have not completed a dungeon in at least a few days, and yet I seem to be getting credit for dungeons simply by doing the event. Is this intentional? Did I miss something? Of course, I’m not complaining if it is, but… just thought it worth reporting. See attachment: No dungeons completed, and yet 2 dungeons on monthly achievement!
While I don’t always agree with what ANet does, and while I think sometimes they make design mistakes… Good job getting the servers back. I just hope you folks don’t get TOO much crap for stuff that wasn’t your fault (though, doubtless you’ve probably already gotten a bunch of angry, unwarranted emails).
Thanks Anet people.

“We’ll teach others how to fight against the dead ships using Charr weaponry, Asuran innovation, and Human courage.”
lul he forgot to mention norn and sylvari.
Did Sylvari exist when he said it? There may have only been twelve of them.
Indeed, they didn’t. If we assume that Cobiah Mariner rebuilt LA pretty soon after the flooding (1219) and the corsairs occupying it (1230), then that still leaves 72 years until the Firstborn start awakening (1302AE). So the pale tree was, at that point, merely a really big tree.
I’m more interested as to why he doesn’t mention Norn. They were pushed south in 1165AE after the awakening of Frosty the Snowdragon, which (to my understanding) broke their “we have to do everything as individuals! no teamwork!” mantra. Is this not true? Did he just leave them out?
Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong section, or if it’s just not right for this forum, but here’s my question:
I was listening to the theme that plays at the end of the quest “A Light in the Darkness” and “The Source of Orr”, during the related boss fights. It’s a big, epic sounding theme that is honestly just awesome. I almost didn’t complete the quests just to hear that theme. Anyway, unless I’m very much mistaken, there’s actually some language being spoken (sung) by the chorus during this song. It’s too obscured by the instrumental parts for me to really hear any of it (not that that’s a bad thing!), but I was wondering if anyone could let us know whether it’s actually some language being spoken.
NOTE: Upon some further research, it seems the official name of this song is “The Seraph”, if that helps.
(Kaineng): So, this event is yet again bugged. I’m not farming it anymore, because I don’t trust ANet not to ban me for playing normally. For those who don’t know, the event will now not progress/end, and endless waves of Risen keep spawning. I assume this has something to do with the frequency of Risen spawns being tied to the number of players, and I’ll also assume that whoever designed this didn’t have the forethought not to allow infinite spawns.
Just so everyone knows, it’s currently NOT bugged on Ehmry Bay. Or rather, I just did it, so it’s doable. Just in case anyone needs!
I wood point to the above option, which already offers a timber. Unless you’re trying to ash for something different, or you’re suggesting we branch off in a different direction…
Okay, I’m done.
As Taste mentions, I’m thinking of the recipe that produced the Mad King Chests. I’m obviously completely unaware what the difficulty is in producing a Mystic Forge recipe, but I would lean towards something that either produces entirely account-bound items, or mostly account-bound items. I realize some people may see this as circular – we’re trading one account-bound item for another – but perhaps we could think of some account-bound item that is more general than a booster?
Would there be any major economic issue with making BLTC keys a possible item?
We’d obviously have to balance between “more useful than the 1-4 boosters involved in the recipe” and “game/economy breaking”.
Ok, firstly let me apologize if this has already been discussed (or worse, discussed and closed), but I was wondering if there’s any way ANet could make a permanent disposal for Boosters. My issue with the boosters (and reason for requesting this) is as follows:
*I cannot sell them, since they’re account bound. I would not suggest making them non account bound, as I have a feeling that that could be a bad move for reasons that I’m too lazy to type out right now.
*Since I’ve finished all 8 crafting professions, Crafting Boosts are pretty much useless to me.
*PvP Glory Boosters are also largely not useful to me, since I don’t PvP (nothing particular about gw2; I just don’t like PvPing in general)
I’m not suggesting some huge overhaul, just like a permanent version of the Halloween recipes. Hey, even if the recipes produce generally useless stuff, I’d still be happy.
Thoughts? And thanks!
So, should I just give up on this event? I’m on maguuma, and the Largos still won’t spawn, Canach still won’t go hostile or even respond.. Should I just assume that this is the poor quality that ANet will deliver from now on? Getting pretty sick of your “but we can’t reproduce it on our servers!” line. Clearly you don’t test things before you release them, and the number of event-breaking bugs in this little 3-day event is… amazing.
Yes, the Blood Witch event is currently running, but I’d really LOVE to know how you intend us to complete an event meant for 10-20 people when there just simply isn’t that many on the map on a GOOD day.
ANet: I don’t know if you just did this update right before leaving and turning off the lights for the night, but seriously, what idiot screwed up the gw2 equivalent of the friends server this badly?
Translation note:
Sceleris is 3rd declension genitive sg., “of crime”
Modus is 2nd declension nominative sg., “Way”, “Limit”, or (according to Google translate, probably wrong) “Time”.
So we get: Way of Crime, Limit of Crime, or Crime Time.
I’d guess the first one since it sounds like a Guild-y type name. The second of sounds weird, and the third sounds like a television program for kids of convicts.
That’s actually a very interesting question. In many burrowing animals, we see an atrophying of the eyes – an evolved blindness. The eyes either become incredibly small and barely functional or disappear altogether. However, in many nocturnal animals, we see quite the opposite. The Slow Loris, a nocturnal lemuriform primate, has particular large eyes. These large-eyed animals are not burrowing, but we can assume that their reason for large eyes is shared by the Asura: they live in low-light conditions. This is echoed by the fact that the Asura actually do show some visual artistic sense in the first game, presumably right after they were b& from being underground. This would indicate that their visual acuity is not only adequate, but indeed good enough to allow cultural design based on it.
I’m now wondering about their ear shape. They’ve got rather large (presumably sensitive) ears, and the Ear itself is clearly a large part Asuran culture (“My ears!”, etc.). What were they listening for underground?
Same here, on Blackgate. To clarify: the NPC is dead, or is taking a nap. Either way, he won’t gimme my skill point.
The griffon event is also bugged on Blackgate. Asuran Necro, but considering it’s a group event, let’s not pretend the vent isn’t reproducible. Maybe I should just stop doing any events/quests/whatever in this game. It seems that, at the rate they are becoming bugged, eventually we’ll have a nice round number of 100% quests/events bugged. Seriously getting sick of this. I can almost guarantee now when I approach a group event that it’ll be bugged, and I’m not continuing on personal quests, since it seems they’re permanently bugged.
Same here. Asuran Necro, chose “let an innocent die” as per quest reqs. Is there a reason why every storyline quest after like lvl 50 in the game is NOT completable? At this point, I’m frankly ready to uninstall the game. This is getting absurd that I have to wait 2 weeks to be able to progress ONE quest in this game. The fact that people are needing to find glitches to get the quests to work is ridiculous.
Is there a reason why you refuse to fix this? This has been an issue for nearly two weeks. Please stop saying that you’ve fixed this bug until you’ve actually fixed it.
Same here. Any particular reason why you’ve decided to remove the NPC that had no impact (as far as I can see) on any of the local stuff?
