Uuuurgh nevermind. No one gets it. Forget it. Jeez. Won’t be returning to this thread because I feel like I’m banging my head against a brick wall trying to get the point across about time-gates.

No, I get it. The old Legendaries had multiple paths you could take to get them, either by getting the money playing the game/flipping TP, sheer dumb luck in the Mystic Toilet or RNG. A person could, theoretically, get a legendary very quick if they played the system well/were lucky/spent all their time on it, but for the most part people just played the way they wanted, and either saved up or got one from RNG. And that took time.
Timegating sucks because it’s artificial. It discounts all the previous time a player has spent gathering materials/money/whatever, and puts in an artificial slowdown to keep those of us who spent their time gathering materials for such an occasion. It’d be like making someone only able to give 50g a day to the TP for a Legendary when they already have the money for it. Having ‘certain people’ able to get a legendary super fast isn’t a problem, and I say that as someone who’s never been one of those ‘certain people’ (played the game since a few months after launch, never got a precursor, never owned a legendary). I’m saying this as someone who thinks timegating makes no sense as a game mechanic unless you’re a free to play where you can buy the gates open.

FC is a great server, it was the second server I’ve been on and I’ve met some of the greatest players there, and the most fun guilds I’ve ever run alongside of.

Well, all toons can have the tools, you just have to pass them around. Kind of like the neverending passes…..

I do wish all toons got the invy spaces too, since I have old mains with slots and new mains without, but you get what you get, I guess. I think it’s assumed that one would give the most specials to ones main toon.

I think you’re justified in how you feel, even though I didn’t necessarily do it the same way.

This is one of those big things they have to fix quick, since it affects PvE as well. It’s not like finding bugs in people’s watergates and then using that over and over again for weeks.
At least it’s here, it’s out in the open and not some secret tactic being used by elite guilds when no one is looking.

E3, crazy bugs and glitches all over the game, and being a group they have to brainstorm and committee and other whatnot. I’d give them some time.

This has been happening in my server for the last two days. Dying everywhere, in spawn, in keep, on fields….no combat log or anything.
Coupled with the weird weapon lag (jump in water, and it takes 5-8 secs to get our water weapon skills), the strange bug where half of us become invisible to everyone, and everyone is invisible to us unless in party, and weapon skills turned off, and we’re invincible, and a really fun tight race is turning into pvd party, because you can’t do anything about the small group taking your keep when you can’t even leave spawn without dying/going into a weird langolier world.

If it had been another toon I would’ve just let it go, but my ranger had my most used crafting abilities. :/

Where was I last night… erm? Ah, yes. FC. Pretty quiet over there but a good clean fighting squad there.

You had just missed a really cool big battle. All three servers put most of their zergs on SMC. Non stop fighting for a long time, all over the map. Real fun for that tier.

Also: really need more poutine.

Haven’t been able to get back. Bummer, it was actually pretty fun at that point.

I started Reve, felt too confused (it seems to have pieces of every profession, it’s the Ichigo Kurosaki of GW2 professions) and went to Mes, but then realized I didn’t want to play without my gear and the likelihood of me unlocking the stuff I want to see and there was no shield.
So I went back to Rev, played pretty far in. I got used to it, it wasn’t bad. It could be fun, it needs some tweaking, and I never got into the traits or anything meta.
Also it was better when I stuck with Jalis.

Crap, I guess I missed it. Got a slot but nothing to do with it.

In EB, all towers spawn hostile gate guards. It kind of looks like it spawns one for each server, at one point in front of Veloka I saw two hostile guards fighting each other.

Three successful breaches with no D/C. I haven’t been back in wvw for a while to see if that’s all fixed, but at least I can still make money. TYVM

We’ve successfully ended World peace for the time being. Though there’s still a chance it will come back until we can apply more complete fixes to prevent it.

I admit this does seem to be the worst. I usually don’t complain about them, but the WvW one made it completely unplayable, and though it’s been helped since the last patch it’s still there in bits and pieces. So I did Vinewrath with a guild mate instead, and after fighting to get into it (random DC, sent back to LA) we got in, played all the way from start to breach and got DC/sent to LA.

I actually agree with the EU having all the fun comment. I would have loved to log in and have the GW2 equivalent of the Christmas truce happening, as opposed to the Gw2 equivalent of the Mutiny on the Bounty we got lol.

Ya, I logged in and went to defend a tower, but I couldn’t because it was all enemy npcs in it except Lord and one other server guy. All of our towers are being contested constantly, so we can’t keep track of anything. Being in Red means those road guard NPCs keep spawning hostile and hitting yaks.
It’s nuts.

I played ranger for a long time in WvW. I could solo flip camps, tower lords and won plenty of 1v1 against other classes. It has many disadvantages, no decent escape rope, no decent stealth, the aoe is too tight and the weapon choices are kind of lackluster.

Fergie’s Cross, EB generally. There is always lag when one of the bigger server’s zerg comes near, and generally when the fighting starts there’s multiple types of lag. Right now we’re fighting a MUCH larger server, and when their zerg entered our keep I couldn’t use skills and just watched as my toon fell to generally simplistic attacks I could have shrugged off.
And it’s been a continuous problem, usually worse when one of the larger servers zergs.

SO very awesome. Love it. It happened in the middle of a WvW fight last night and we all had to stop and just laugh. Especially at the Yaks…..

I like the idea of pvp being viewable in the Charr Arena. I also would love to see more LA style events in the main cities, though maybe with less destruction.

Oh wow, I didn’t know that stuff we left behind was still there. My guild switched servers a year or so ago, and found out the hard way that you lose everything from guild bank etc. but we never thought we could go back and get it.

I think she’s fun, it’s the whole overflow system that’s frustrating.

I feel similarly. I’m on a small server, the days we won (thanks to guests) I was relegated to overflows, I guested elsewhere but wound up on overflows (and constantly transferred to new overflows). The closest I’ve seen is 38% and that was enough to keep trying, but it’s been an entire day of overflows, zerg yelling at turrets, turrets yelling at defenders, defenders yelling at afk’ers….
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think it needs a nerf, and there’s no way I could see it being able to scale, since afk’ers now ruin it by making it scale up. I think the overflow system should be fixed, perhaps revert to the GW1 mode where we could switch between them and thus set things up easier. That’s the only reason I’m really giving up, I don’t want to wait hours to get into a main so I can sit in that main the entire time waiting for the right group to show up, I want to do SAB and level my last toon to 80 and farm for my legendary.

Reason for guesting: Your server has four people in Sparkfly and two are AFK.

My server’s dead, so I guest around in the overflows. I’ve never just walked into a big server, in fact, I get the prompt to go into the server and it sends me to another overflow. I assumed I was being passed over due to natives, which doesn’t matter to me since I’ve just been looking for the overflow where everyone was fighting well.

I’ve been wandering overflows pretty much all night. My home server is dead. The last one I was in was well organized (had one guild on the turrets, and people actually stacked on a commander) and we got him down to 38% before running out of time.
But that was the best, every other overflow I’ve been in (about 15) hasn’t even hit the first megalaser.

That is the exotic version. A guildie got one while we cleared Lyssa and it’s a level 80 exotic with horribly low stats.
Edit: In fact, looking at the trading post they’re all like that.

I wouldn’t say the entirety, I know that it worked well on some servers, I heard from others about the fun they had on the quest and the epic loot. It just seems to be that we wound up in the ‘ghetto server’ lol.

It was both Vabbi and Dragonbrand. :/ I know all of the quests I did in Vabbi were bugged, I couldn’t get the guy to do anything in the house at all, and then the bombers got stuck on the stairs.

Yeah, there’s still a group, much smaller than when I last posted, waiting in Vabbi as well.
A few people, myself and some in my guild, couldn’t even make it to the event due to disconnect and inability to log back in. I disconnected on the road to it, and couldn’t log in for hours. I’m no poorer than I was before the event, and mapping out the island was fun, and the generous actions of some of the players orphaned in the event made my day, but I did miss all of the quests mailed to me because of bugs. It’s been fun though, thanks Anet.
