Couldn’t party up these players to ask who they were, but to whoever that scepter/torch+staff Mesmer from JQ and the p/d Thief from SoS at the frogs in EBG with the super long duels and stuff…you guys are freaking awesome, that was silly fun.

Watch for the shadow refuge area field, the pistol #5 smoke field, etc. If your zerg has anywhere near decent scouts then you will see them, and hopefully have someone to push/pull the thief out of stealth and kill them. In this video the guy didn’t even wait for the field to give him the extra stealth and building the trap in plain sight gave them more than enough time to attack/interrupt.
If the thief isn’t taken out of it’s stealth, then keep your zerg mobile. Do supply checks in less risky places for this tactic.
Some supply camps do have many places for the thief to hide behind for a safe shadow refuge, so that’s a case where awareness is more tricky.

Looks nicely anti-zerg to me. Not really a problem besides a way to troll zergs. Otherwise, the enemy group can simply go get more supply or be smarter and more aware of their surroundings. People need to complain less and calm down. This is a solo class, mostly useless in zerg fights besides letting their silly shortbow kill allies against enemy zerg reflections.
I’m in the process of leveling all classes, and so far I still don’t see thieves as OP.

Being a major fan of parkour antics, I try to run across a whole zone as fast as possible, but whenever you fall from a higher place, you take that small portion of damage and it ends up slowing you down.
Whenever I’ve dodge rolled from a high place, it’s like, “Oh cool, dodge roll!” -falls flat on face soon after-

I think it could do without any attempted humor if you’re making score updates, fellow TC. (my opinion, but, it just sounds too cheesey when we’re not the losers anymore)
As far as scores go this week, it should merely be for those who wanna know the current PPT at a certain time frame if they aren’t on, etc.
Otherwise, this week will be slow for all of us. TC may hear a lot of complaints of huge zergs (on behalf of PiNK, but just imagine fighting HB, then we’ll talk), but try to get in some good fights every now and then throughout the week.
We’ll all look forward to what kind of guilds/forces you guys have and what can be learned, should you find us slacking in our defenses.

I agree with requiring invites for guesting. Not sure how the program would work exactly, but even as Nels says, it doesn’t even matter if you make it so others have to pay to guest. You’d have to pay a ton of G just to transfer to the server if you actually wanted to stay there.

Guesting can be considered a way of playing with friends from another server. In that sense, their friends will invite them.

It can also be considered a way for people without friends to want to guest on other servers for:
1: PvE- which is more based on personal problems. If you want a more populated server, transfer to one on your own. If it is due to the server being so highly focused on WvW that non of the PvE maps are populated, then that’s probably what you would focus on anyway.

2: Community- If people are guesting just to check out other server’s community, I think that’s intruding. If you wanna learn about a server before transferring to it, then read about them. Otherwise, I know this is one thing that’ll be taken away since it really gives the person an idea of how a server is, but the majority of what I’m seeing is people from other servers trying to destroy community.
I like the curiosity of it, as I’ve seen some pretty kind and curious people, but as far as TC goes, I’m hearing things like people making that the hotspot for PvE guesting, etc
We’re not Hawaii, or NY City, or any of that. No servers should be like that.

No thanks…TC has hardly any oceanic presence at all still. At this time we’re outmanned in the enemies borderlands and EB, and no queue in our BL. I still wish us good luck, but personally I’d rather not be matched with servers with gigantic oceanic zergs. (mainly cause I can’t even be on around these times myself anymore..lol it’s a real bummer)

FA’s defenses are really strong there, having repelled a BG wave and TC wave at Bay.

Another EU player here. I’ve only heard good things about TC and I’ve considered moving over there for some time already. But I have to admit I am a bit discouraged by Sanctum of Rall’s WvWvW domination over TC in Tier 2. I’m one of those guys who really love doing all the important stuff like walking Dolyaks, defending and upgrading towers etc and I’d hate to see all my work going to waste when most TC players go to sleep and Sanctum just PvDoors everything.

So does TC have any chance against Sanctum during EU prime time or is it just how I fear it is? I’d really love to join you guys with my tiny EU guild but I’m tired of being on a server that loses everything during non-NA prime time and that’s why I may be leaning towards more even tiers like Tier 1 or Tier 6…

I’m in the same boat as you. I used to be one of those crazy determined guys who would stay up all night and guard my borderlands for any “vampiric invasion” as I call it. While it did work when it was 5v15ish at the time (we were an excellent bunch of determined defenders..I loved it haha), once we got to T2, the amount changed to about 5-10v30+ and I got overwhelmed.
It would really be great if we could balance that out more. It’s not just TC bl that gets overwhelmed, but EB too- which just shouldn’t happen.
Not saying I’ve given up helping our off-times, but I need my sleep for college XD

Fun in SBI BL.

I think it would have been more fun if Choo stuck to one map, CDS another and Fear the last. When you guys combined it gave the appearance of Choo calling for help after a number of wipes. Not much 100v30 needed out there lol.

Choo has 10-15 members online tonight in WvW. The rest are playing the sleep game.

As for saying 100 v 30, you really shouldn’t speak about being out numbered unless you know what was going on at the time. If you really want to know whisper Jedbacca. Rather keep the drama off these forums.

Yeah well he isn’t too happy about something that happened when SBI was pushing Garrison.
If you heard and still think SoR outnumbered yall then you didn’t see the other forces that were against SoR.

If you didn’t hear then you can ask if you want. I really dont care, but there was no 100 v 30 on the map. All 3 servers had apx the same amount of people, until TC wiped more after yall took Garrison, and now they have the outmanned buff. :x

That outmanned buff flashes on and off even as one person leaves the BL or joins it. A good commander of ours ran off (escape the faaaanns?) to SBI BL to cap camps and I entered it, seeing we were already outmanned there. (We, TC I mean) We found SBI having trouble at taking their garrison back, so the commander decided, hey why not, so yes, we were splitting your forces there. We were around outmanned buff the entire time. Does it really matter? Not really. We were just doing some fun suicidal business!

Man you guys are way too serious. If he/she wants to try to sell the siege instead, let them. It only relies on whether or not people even buy from them anyway.
If, to you, they are spamming the chat when they are trying to sell it, then block them. Simple.

I am TC, too. I spend out of my pockets on upgrades and siege equipment, and I have thought of being a commander for a long time, however I remain at around 5g-10g because I put so much into WvW. However, even I would be willing to buy from this guy, for me to pay less than the vendor price, at least.

This is how my night went on SoRBL (as a Coaster):

Around eleven PM server time (PST), BG shows up at RedBriar with somewhere around 15-20. With the obscene amount of siege we had at briar, we fend off a number of attacks from several angles, but their hearts were not really in it since BG was preoccupied in taking Hills. So, BG forces finally withdraw from Briar.

We had around 7-10 defending, so we were pretty stoked on our little victory. Some time passes, and we start getting restless. Kiyo suggests putting up a treb in vale to hit the inner walls of bay, so 3 or 4 of us go to do that. Shortly after we get our treb up, swords go up at vale. “Uh… Why is vale contested?” Kiyo asks. We go down the hill and see around ten BG ganking the camp NPCs. We scuffle, and soon I’m walking back from spawn to the tower… Which is under assault by AT LEAST 40 BG.

I gotta say that was really funny. We were keeping that tower for so long and noticed SoR and BG were so focused on Hills that we could have sieged Bay. Sadly about 5 people can never seem to go for much without 30+ having to roll them over.
We even tried to take Bay when SoR had it and the hungry BG zerg swept it under our hard work.. :P
Also shout out to EA guild from BG, I had a lot of aggression towards all the skilled guardians and mesmers you guys have. (I was constantly facing 2 of them around BW in TC BL, they definitely don’t give up)

That was likely not a hack. You can really get up there. Specifically, a class with a non-target leap. (Engineer’s mostly, as it can be tested and proven, idk about warrior)
If you really caught the person magically flying up there from the ground, that is different.

BG is only winning because they PVE WvW all night long, hitting +650 ppt for hours.

SoR is a better server than BG, they just lack the night crew.

i dont understand why sor deny their oceanic existent. SOR used to have 50+ defenders defend SOR BL and kept it blue overnight for past months. PVDoor? you simply just dont know how hard they defend their bl every night.

Agree, if I was SoR’s Oceanics, I’d be insulted by this. I reckon they put up a great fight, we’ve had an absolute ball fighting them in our prime time over the past few weeks.

When I see a SoR zerg coming, I usually kitten my little skimpy crafted commander pants coz I know we’re in for a tough fight.

In all honesty, I think TC Oceanics need more exposure to this higher level of battles, they are making a lot of silly mistakes and failed portal bombs etc that with a bit more experience will work really well. We held off twice our number at Cliff tower last night in their BL with an open wall for over an hour.

Everyone commented though on how persistent they were, they just kept trying and trying until eventually they succeeded, we really appreciated the tenacity you guys showed and it made for a fantastic night of battles.

I can just see TC getting better and better.

I really wanted to know how that battled ended after we took Cliffside back from you. (we still had Garrison at the time and then all the while we were trying to take that tower back, we were also trying to hold Hills keep. I, myself was staying up like hell just because I wanted to see how the oceanic invasion was like, but I got too sleepy at that point and headed out.)
I realized how disorganized we were at the time. People were not listening very well and it seemed like a good majority of them were new faces.
I was the stubborn TC thief that kept passing into the tower to harass and kill your siege before we took it. I liked fighting you NOC guys, especially that thief with the holiday dagger lol was a nice target for an extra stealth.

To the KnT guild of BG that were in TC bl protecting their trebs in Vale…you guys are bullies haha
I am the TC hooded thief, TV guild, that was trying to rush the treb and you guys were crazy good at keeping me off and downing me at the same time…then pulled out those fireworks and insane dance moves upon me.
I was trying to heal up constantly so that I can bow to you guys and throw up my pretend-white flag, but you kept hitting me, letting me heal, then hitting me again after I got close to getting up. Was so painful…lol

Honestly I think SoR needs it too, but you guys do seem to push up a lot quicker than we do, plus you can just repaint their borderlands blue! We don’t have full map coverage to slap them BGs either…makes me sad.

As of right now, it displays a good majority of them as “Very High” in population. Not sure for how long…come get it while it’s there, I guess. :P

I think this thread needs a bump. TC NEEDS more oceanic coverage. We are a very proud bunch and if people around those time slots are looking for a new place, they would likely enjoy the community here as well.

We have close to 5 defenders at our off peak hours though (this is how it has been around Christmas time, especially. Also, this is speaking for our borderlands map, whereas EB may have a bit more defenders, but not enough).

Sadly, our server’s “full” status is split mostly among our PvE and RP population, but in the least likelihood that we cannot somehow…‘convert’ these guys, we are wishing to find more WvW based people to make a change in our night crew. By change, I mean HUGE change. Like…superman change lol.

If anything BG shouldn’t be getting anymore oceanic guilds. The aim needs to be a better 24/7 presence for all servers, because losing fully upgraded keeps…or better yet, everything, to unbalanced numbers is just sad. That goes for both SoR and TC, although SoR’s all-map NA presence seems to smash BG’s, so they should focus more on expanding that time slot. Kinda sucks that the servers say full and yet half the reason is due to your PvE/RP population.

It’s more about preference, really. If you like WvW, but also like mixing in random, “Oh hey, a nice chance of 1v1”, then that’s always possible, so as long as the enemy does not run from you. I don’t focus those chances when my server is in a bad shape, but when we own all our borderlands and we’re just on guard duty, I do set up dueling spots. It’s all for fun.

CD + FA are actually thinking pretty wise with focusing our borderlands in general. I don’t call it an alliance at all. If they come out to say it is themselves, then cool.
However, a lot of you guys base everything off forum posts. I’ve not come across anyone in TC who is upset/complaining about silly 2v1 stuff. If they are, then they need to get out and get some morale. Honestly, I was fighting a group of CD + FA who cheered and laughed together after they got me. I actually thought it was pretty neat the effort they put into it.

In his screenshot, it shows PiNK and some TSL attacking CD bl. This was also around the time that CD’s zerg started showing up in TC bl instead.
Basically, in TC bl, we had pretty much no defenders, and we were starting to lose a lot. Eventually those from CD bl came to back up TC bl. It was starting to be a really cool battle. CD’s zerg was huge there, but after we started pushing back, they abandoned ship. I’m really not a fan of this “jumping borderlands” thing, but for awhile the defending in TC bl was crazy and hard. PiNK doesn’t go to EB, so they aren’t going from CD bl back to EB for lols or anything. We just needed back up in TC bl. (I personally had no idea we were zerging in CD bl at the same time we were LOSING TC bl lol…that kinda got my nerve)

Just wanted to thank the CD in the EB Jumping Puzzle this morning (7am EST)
I usually dread going there since I’m normally trying to do it alone whilst enemy zerg is above and aware for some sweet slaughtering
But, as I was going, I noticed some CD not attacking me, then at the end, a bunch were there, so I stealthed like a scaredy cat and took the chest, only to find that when I unstealthed, none of them jumped at me.

As for this ‘spawn camping’ stuff that people complain about, I don’t have a single problem with it. We were messing around with the ‘spawn campers’ on our own accord, then the entre SoR zerg came to us, and then the ‘Kodan commander’ showed on the field for an epic battle. :P

The main mentality I see out of TCers is humor in the face of nasty over-matched weeks. If you have an ego about needing constant wins, then a life of steady server transfers is apparently more your speed.

I’ll stick with the guys discussing favorite pizza toppings and putting together elaborate suicide plans for fun over ever feeling down that I am not currently winning the pixels. And really for a mostly pug group with a sense of humor about WvW, I’d say TC does a respectable job. The server has a good reputation for a reason. Friendly people who still like to show up to the occasional fight.

…I just read this and had to say that with the naked dance party that happened despite BG owning pretty much all of our [TC] borderlands for the time and trying to spawn camp from Spiritholme, this is definitely true. lol
