Good tip: Turn on Frame Limiter so it doesn’t fry out your video card. That’s still an ongoing issue with older cards since beta/launch.

I’m sure they will add a few dungeons. Don’t expect anything mind-blowing though. Most people will just skip all the mobs anyways.

This is a problem that’s happened to me multiple times. Previously, either flushing my DNS or switching my DNS to Google’s public DNS fixed the problem. No such luck with the latest patch. However, using:
-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
worked. I’m in Minneapolis, US, with Comcast.
I’m in Minneapolis as well with Comcast — but different assetsrv worked per Chris.

Each of these asset servers (above) are hosted by a different CDN, so swapping might help ^like it did above. Keep letting me know if this solved your problem or not.
That being said, after you patch, you are probably going to want to remove that from your target line. Our assets are normally dynamically served across multiple CDNs, and keeping it stuck at one might impact future updating.

If you are still having problems, try adding this to your GW2 Shortcut Target:
-assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80
If that doesn’t work, try
-assetsrv 151.249.90.138:80
You can do this by right clicking on your GW2 Shortcut and adding the above text to your Target field. For example your target should look like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -assetsrv 62.154.232.187:80

The more I read about this issue the more it makes me think it’s an Internet or ISP issued, people that have found work around have done so with changes that effect there Internet connection or it just cleared up on its own. There also could be an issue with how you connect wifi or Ethernet cable, if it’s wifi try a cable. Here’s a thought try to check for latest drivers for your network hardware or firmware updates for routers.
I was able to play Wednesday night and Thursday night… Anet released a small patch sometime on Friday.. got home from work, loaded it up.. stuck at 1 file. Tried 2 diff computers on 2 different ISPs and stuck at same issue. Both are wired ethernet, all firmware/drivers updated. Tried direct to modem connection on both. Same issue. Tried VPN on both using several different VPN configs, same issue. So no, it’s a full Anet issue they refuse to look into.
It’s working today. However, I’ve read where many people have problems as the install nears its end.
Definitely not working for me today — I just did a fresh install.. still stuck at 1.

Yup, still can’t play. Stuck at 1 file. None of the workarounds that people post work. Still nothing from ANet.
You also need to remove that link because it’s a hijack link — which is not wise to post in the forums — otherwise if someone else click on it, their GW account will be compromised as well.
Guillotine — of course it’s a scam. Did you not read the yellow warning below the mail message that states “This message was sent by another GW2 user. This mail did not come from ArenaNet.”

If my connection was being throttled, I wouldn’t be downloading at 100Mb/s through the launcher to complete this 1 file — changed back to default ISP DNS servers. Same issue. Changed back to Google’s DNS servers.. same issue. Changed to Open DNS servers.. same issue. This is a GW issue.
Yeah, I’ve deleted the local.dat, and changed language.. all versions stuck at 1 file. No go.

You don’t need to change your IP to just download this one file.. just silly. C’mon guys… that’s like saying you need to unplug your monitor from your GPU for it to download the last file.
Lots of people on reddit also posting about this issue too now.
Yeah, a majority of us are stuck in the launcher with 1 file left to update and it downloads gigs and gigs of trash data and never completes… so you’re in the same boat.. been like this since Tuesday’s update. Still no official response from Anet. I can’t play either because of that one file left.

Yeah, stuck at 1 file left at launcher.. downloaded 15GB already and it’s still going. One other post on here.. someone has been stuck at 1 file for the last 3-4 days since patch and has already download 80GB of it.. and still can’t play. I can’t either. Forever downloading 1 file which is just garbage.
Now posts are starting to show up about this issue. One guy posted he’s been stuck at 1 file for the last 3-4 days since the patch and already downloaded 80GB already of the 1 file. Great job, Anet. Still not fix. Can’t even log on to play because of this.

I’ve already done all this and I’m still stuck at 1 file left — and it’s already downloaded 14GB already. Still not fixed.
Ateon — I hope they fix it soon, I was at least able to play last night.. but tonight.. patcher said I needed like 600+ files.. now stuck at this one.. now at 14GB d/l. I’m gonna stop it soon.. this is just beyond silly. FIX THIS ANET!

I’m stuck at 1 file now as well.. and it’s downloaded 13GB already and still growing… I know the patch isn’t this big. The game itself is 25GB download.. feels like to me this is just downloading a bunch of garbage.
I’m trying to log on today — and the launcher is telling me I have 1 file to update.. and it’s up to 13 GB downloaded.. I know whatever they patched is not that big because I cannot find a search for this issue at all… not here, and not reddit.. not anywhere. Because of this 1 file still waiting to update — I cannot play.

You might want to get rid of that Fisher Price internet. I’ve been playing since launch and never really saw any lag issues.

I’ve never seen a CPU or a new GPU for $100 — unless it’s super old. Good luck. You might as well check Newegg or Amazon and see what you can find.
I’d say if you have the money and the skill points.. especially when you have a huge abundance of them, I would just pay for it to save you the headache of waiting to get something.
Game was name based from the original lore of Guild Wars… actual Guild Wars took place a long time before the story of the first GW.

Please update your video card drivers from Nvidia or AMD.
According to your diagnostics here, you installed a BETA version of the drivers that were released on 12/13/14. The most current and OFFICIAL (not BETA) drivers was released on 12/23/14 (347.09).
Install those latest drivers and give that a shot. Please stay away from the BETA drivers — they are unsigned and don’t usually work too well.
