Im confused. What happened to the traits and trait skills I had before? This new trait system thing has me confused. Do I need to unlock everything over again?
Also what has changed within the past 8 months that I missed?
The point I’m making is that, with everything Anet has done in the past that may have been unpopular, people complain then end up succumbing to what Anet has lay down as “this is how it’s going to be.”
I don’t think boycotting will change Arena Net’s mind or price. Boycott for a different reason but believe me they won’t change (or learn) from their mistakes.
I probably won’t be buying HoT because Anet doesn’t deserve my money with what they are doing or trying to do. But I don’t expect that they will change their price now because we complain. That will show they were wrong and boy, Anet sure doesn’t like to admit they were wrong that’s for sure. They just expect Everyone to conform to their parameters and we will because it’s their game.
This is short and sweet. It’s a cycle that I’ve seen happen over and over again.
Anet will release or change something. Like Megaserver for example. People immediately start complaining on the forums, the pages are filled with topics: “I’m quitting!” “Let’s make Anet hear us!”
Anet will not change anything. They are in the buisness to make money. Just like the era of Megaserver, they will ignore EVERYTHING you guys say until things die down. They know eventually you will accept it and buy the expac anyway. Just like it took about a month to accept the Megaserver, and now nobody complains and have grown to accept it, it will be the same here.
And the folks at Anet are probably laughing at the threats to not buy the expansion when they know well, when it releases and people realize the price will be the same, they will purchase it anyway. All while copy pasting reassuring messages your complaints are being heard.
Thought I would share my Warrior solo for the bugged auto attack lupi.
I was full Zerk gear and traits except utilities. I don’t see many warrior solos of the new lupi and even less off the wall, so thought I would share. Enjoy
Basically I keep getting disconnected from gw2 every 5 minutes or so, but I’m able to lg back in immediately. I never have this problem with other games, or on my laptop that uses the same connection.
3. 1TB HDD? Really? 3TB+ at a min for a new built system today.
You wasted 1200 on that build, easily.
Return it, and just build it yourself. Or buy the parts and have a shop build it for ya. But you are over spending by 60% easily.
As much as iI don’t like saying it..I agree…. return it.
What would be an alternate option? Since I don’t know how to build my own
Honestly, if you really want to get your moneys worth; return it, order these parts, and find a local computer shack or hardware store to throw it together for around $200. If you need a monitor, check neweg’s email deals for an IPS backlit 1920×1080 monitor that will work for you. Save yourself a couple hundred bucks, support a local computer shack, and end up with a machine that’ll give you about double the FPS in more graphically demanding titles.
Ultimately, what you game on is your decision. And if you’re happy, then I’m happy for you. I think the community as a collective just doesn’t want to see one of its own get taken for a ride by a retailer that inflates labor costs.
The parts I’ve listed are similar to the ibuypower build, but I slightly downgraded the CPU in order to get a mobo that supports ddr3 ram. That saved about $200, so I added in another gtx970 to run in SLI for $300. I also upgraded the SSD and HDD to be a bit faster. This setup nets you an overall performance increase that you will actually notice during the tasks I assume you will be doing (gaming, surfing the web, boot time, ect..).

Not including case, keyboard, mouse, PSU, etc. Add in labor and shipping and he got a pretty good deal and didn’t have to do the screwdriver time himself. SO, unless you can part out an equivalent machine for less, you need to give him some space. Check the prices on Newegg or some other REPUTABLE parts dealer.

I’m not familiar with ibuypower but I’d check to see what brand of PSU they used before automatically replacing it. It looks like they use branded ones though. It should be on your invoice, the brand.
Hope 1080 on a 32" will be okay. For a monitor you’re (usually) sitting a bit closer than a TV so you might notice it’s a bit grainy. I have a 27" monitor with 2560×1440 resolution. It’s personal preference though.
I have a Samsung 840 1TB SSD on mine which I upgraded last year. I got the larger size mainly as I expect it to last and be useful for decades.
Your PC should be able to play anything currently around. Not sure about on absolute max settings though, but just try it. TBH if you’re happy with the way it runs, that’s all that matters.
That 1TB SSD must’ve cost a lot.
Hopefully it won’t look grainy on a 32". Maybe I should go to 28" of that’s the case
I’m a PC enthusiast and I’ve built my computers for the last 10 years or so; having said that, the last build I did was from cyberpowerpc. I tried to build the computer in pcpartpicker.com with the parts I wanted for weeks. I would constantly check to see if it got below my price and I finally found that price at cyberpower. I took one of their expensive models and swapped out for the parts I wanted, including a r9 290 instead of the 780 (at that time it was -230 to get the r9 290 instead of 780).
So those armchair computer builders out there, don’t scoff immediately at pre-built, because sometimes you can actually find them cheaper, although not always.
P.S – like the poster above, you always need to swap out the powersupply they give. I also choose a different case. A 650w corsair, antech, etc. PSU is better than a 1000w non-branded.

Really? That much saved in price? I thought going pre built I was going in maybe an extra $400 but I didn’t really mind to save myself from learning to build one and ordering all the parts individually.

How I feel is that Anet feels they can make any change they want because they’ll always have a certain amount of “loyal” players who will play no matter what. Why appeal to them when you can make changes to appeal to newcomers who are just coming in and more willing to gemstore?
The loyal vets will stay anyway so we can give 2 kittens about them.
Eles are bad in PUGs. I can’t tell you the amount of time I spend rezing downed Eles. I rather have a necro who survives than an ele getting constantly downed.
In organized groups, or not even organized just a group that’s all on the same page and knows what to do, ele is absolutely amazing.
I feel every party should have 2 Eles, Warrior, Guardian and a random 5th. I would prefer thief for that spot.

I hope they have as much HP as the Veteran in the pressure plate room in underground facility on 50 though, or it’s not fair enough.
I was thinking either that or instead of lupi have a Legendary Dredge Illusionist that is the same size as lupi and when it does it’s chaos storm the aoe covers the entire room.
And instead of it spawning locusts it spawns smaller illusionists. At p2 when it transitions it spawns a deadeye with the same amount of hp as the vet dredge.
And while he does the aoe blast horrik comes and starts the canon phase.
I think you did a very good job. Nitpicking here, but you can actually stand just outside his hit box in phase 1 to strafe the locusts and still hit him. Ogre Whistle/Ember the transition. Phase 3: I would suggest for his PBAoE to WWA into him, then dodge back and switch to axe/sword for sword 5.
Once again, nitpicking, but rip (sword 4) before you switch weapons, use rush more often, keep an eye on your gs cooldowns to make sure you’re always using 100b, rush and WWA to their fullest potential.

Attempting to do it today with strength was just bad. So many locust swarms and RNG blasts
You should be using rush off cooldown, when you run out phase 3 aoe you don’t blade trail or throw axe + impale, as mentioned dodge in to him. You whirled away once so when whirling in to him always click the skill instead of aiming with your mouse. Pre stack adrenaline so you open up the fight with berserkers power, push him before actually attacking, consider using dragon breath bun when killing transition grub then switch back to dps food so you get 200 power and your deeps food. If you want to go even harder, kill a grub before you even attack, but the amount of times lupicus just resets randomly just makes it a waste of time unless pushing for a record. Use hylek poison or med kit after going out of phase 3 aoe so you have swiftness and don’t need to eviscerate back in (taking ticks of damage makes him heal, don’t do it). Also, try conditions. Although I haven’t put too much effort in to it, post patch I have a 5:25 berserker lupicus and a 5:15 condition, both which I haven’t uploaded. To maintain might with strength runes you just do your regular rotation. Typing from a phone so probably made a bunch of errors and it means I couldn’t format my post nicely but I think I covered it all.

Last Q I have is, how do you deal with transition grub? Should I move back like I did in my vid or use fire elemental? I find using fire elemental, lupi eats the grub before I can kill it.
We need dredges that follow you the entire map and comes out from the walls like ghost before and after being killed… and a clown car that becomes a ghost clown car after being defeated(condition dmg only)
Which then explodes into multiple lesser oozes which then collapse into giant pools of water which the player then has to dive into and fight against the HOTW end bosses, which are then replaced by aetherblade mobs who are upset that you killed their Sons of Svanir friends. After all of this a total of 1 copper is awarded per final enemy slain to make it worthwhile killing them. Anyone who skips this trash mob fight will be subject to banning as not killing these mobs is against how the game was intended to be played.
End boss will be a Mai trin that summons dredges during the canon phase that immobilize you while deadeyes parachute down.
If you die and try to disconnect so Kiel can res you, you will spawn in a room with inquest technicians that perms stun you when you res.
Yeah for p3 I suddenly wasn’t dodging into him for the first minute. I don’t know why I stopped.
And for the grub, for some reason when I summon the fire elemental, while yes he takes the grub, I can’t kill the grub in time for lupi to not eat it. Or lupi will start his blast and I’ll have to dodge and sacrifice not killing it.
I find going far away instead allows me to kill the grub. Idk
I need to find how to get a faster time in. I was hoping to get some feedback on my performance. I feel I did a pretty good minus a couple failed dodges.
I was using scholar and now just bought Strength to better my time.
I used to get the agony particle effect which looked like purple spikes coming of of my character. All of a sudden I never see the effect anymore even though I get hit with agony. Any way I might have changed something in the graphics settings?
