Doesn’t happen in any other part of the game, stable at 66ms everywhere else in game, but I see a 1000ms jump that lasts seconds and my ping to www.google.com is a solid 25ms the whole time. The ping spike is limited to this one portion of the game and I suspect there is an issue with the servers involved on ANet’s end but I was wondering if there is something I could do?
Then it is not working as a block should. When I block a player I don’t want them to be able to see me online or my group listing or send me a message at all. Ya know like the idea of blocking someone should be. Why does facebook have a more correct blocking mechanic than ANet?
So then there is absolutely no reason for block to exist? Gotcha.
Whenever I run into a particularly bad player and the group decides they need to be removed for that dungeon I block them and then relist the group. I have noticed recently that blocked players can still see the group listing and rejoin. Why is this?
Well, that is the default animation for many, many things. One will see other characters doing it if the actual textures have not yet loaded, or one has set Character limit to low/med, etc.
You can contact the CS Team via the ‘Support’ link for assistance, should you so desire.
Good luck.
Even set to high it didn’t play but it worked at highest… That is a dumb limitation within the game. Thanks for the info though!
Have you tried a -repair of the client, in case of corrupted file(s)? Instructions found via the ‘Support’ link above/below and ‘Search – Repair’.
Good luck.
Done that and a fresh install, it still does this. Also, this is what other players see as well, friends I play with asked me why my character is throwing nothing sometimes.
When I sell or list something on the Trading Post my character does the throw animation instead of the gift box animation I selected. When I sell something on the TP with another carrier selected that animation plays but the Gift Box mail carrier is broken.

its the way the designed it.
This is not the first time ANet will have designed something wrong. Bleed cap, burning stacking in duration and not being unique per player is a strong example of them designing the game wrong. Not badly, wrong.
Still frustrating that something that is supposed to be working at all times unless I have it on cooldown stops working when I use my class mechanic.
Is there a reason signets stop working when we go into deathshroud? For someone with a primarily deathshroud build I am limited to only minions because that is the only utility I can use that actually functions in deathshroud, not the special attacks but at least I still get the damage they do. Signets turn off when you go into deathshroud or lich and for the life of me I cannot figure out why that would be the way they work.
I actually know why that is the way they work. When you go into either of those two forms your utility bar is disabled because that was easier than hiding it. So please ANet tell me you will be fixing that.
Can’t believe I have to ask for it again but if someone is the top ranked player in their jumping puzzle instance they should get an achievement and title for that. I suggested the same thing for Mad King’s Clock Tower and even suggested the title of “Hopping Mad”. For wintersday it needs to be something festive so I suggest “Jumping for Joy”.
Tired of winning these jumping puzzles and getting nothing for my efforts.
Seems a little odd the game would track that sort of information but not give a reward for being the top scoring player. It tells me I am all the time but it doesn’t give me anything for it unless it did years ago and I just missed it.
I suggest the title “Hopping Mad”
Check out Wanze’s HoT Economy thread. Apparently the rare trinkets and back pieces salvage into exotic upgrades, along with fewer people running dungeons so the supply is lowering.
I’ve only had one rare Splice drop but it sold very nicely.
I know the supply is lower but I am confused as to why there is a demand at all. The exotic jewel gotten from this is only worth 86s and the 3 ectos you could in theory get from it are worth about them same. This is way below the order price of 9g so why is there this level of demand?
Since the launch of HoT the back item Fiber Splice acquired through random drops in CoE has spiked heavily in price. Why is this? I have done as much digging as humanly possible and, as far as I can find, it is not a component in any mystic toilet recipe nor does it salvage into anything exceptionally valuable. So why is it suddenly sought after?
Either give it a remind me never button or make it not prevent me from hitting enter to get into the game. Right now when the buttons come up they force me to use the mouse and that just adds to my disenjoyment of the decision by ANet.
“then just tell it to remember the location and you will never be prompted on that computer.”
You will never be prompted on that IP Address range is correct. What you said is absolutely a misrepresentation of facts.
I would allow it to say whatever it wanted to if it didn’t prevent me from hitting enter twice and getting into the game with no hindrance.
I do not want to be reminded later. I do not want to be remind at all.
Many games before GW2 have handled it somehow. Differentiating yourself by being worse from a technical standpoint is not productive.

Scenario: Condition Ranger and Condition Warrior in dungeon together. Ranger begins DPS on boss and sees burn, poison and bleed ticks for 750, 220 and 1500 lets say. Warrior begins DPS later and applies the same conditions and sees ticks for 800, 240, 2500(more stacks applied by himself). The ranger will now see zero DoT damage because he cannot apply bleeds as fast as the warrior and does not have enough condition damage to overpower the higher damage, and therefore higher priority, ticks from the warrior.
Why do condition builds compete for DPS in PVE? Why is it that whoever has the highest condition damage gets to see the numbers?
If I compose a dungeon group of nothing but power builds there is no interference of DPS between players and indeed this is how all PVE DPS should be treated. There is no reason for one player’s DPS to prevent, or even in most cases outright nullify, another player’s DPS so why do condition builds compete for DPS in PVE? I get why there should only be one burning, 25 bleeds, 25 torments and 1 poison in PVP, zergs would just blow people up otherwise(not like they still don’t but that is a matter for another time), but in PVE there is no reason for this constraint.
I have to assume it is some technical hold over from early development when the technology to split mechanics between PVP and PVE did not exist but now it does and there needs to be a change made as right now it is an incredible hindrance on group diversity.
With the recent handing out of Boxes O’ Fun I wanted to ask if there might be a possibility to get them added to the monthly rewards just as something fun to get that doesn’t have a direct affect on the game? I ask because the recent influx of boxes has made hanging out in town more interesting all around and a continue supply of them would be great for the community IMO.
If you post a build in the thief forum saying you feel powerful then it’s a good bet they will be aiming the nerf hammer your way sooner or later mister
I’ve made a horrible mistake.
i think your spec will be nerfed in the next patch
Oh no! Why do you think that?
I recently brought back my thief as S/D to be a complement to a 3-4 man group I run with in WvW and I just wanted to say it has worked out really well being able to provide aoe stealth and pickups 100% of the time as well as providing good damage and dazes. I would guess my spec is fairly standard for this sort of thing but will link it anyways. When I don’t have any other players to count on I will always use D/P first but this game is about groups not solo kills IMO.
Tell me whatcha think if you want but I am quite happy with this spec as is and don’t see myself changing it in any way.
Pretty sure its only a 25% decrease in the d gen.
Its not a good trait
I am going to do what I can to test it later tonight but if all this trait does is slow the natural drop off then it really is a horrible trait and will need massive buffing.
Does Vital Persistence also affect how much Life Force is lost when receiving damage while in Death Shroud? As in does Vital Persistence effectively lower damage received by 25% while in Death Shroud?
If no one knows I will run tests later.
Shroud and Lich Form. I am almost always in one or the other.
Yup, I switched to a dagger OH on one of my weapon sets and immediately noticed a lack of LF generation with that set.
I have decided to call this spec the Hand Cannon after I crit a glass cannon for 10k today in wvw. (DS4 consistently does more than 10k total btw)
I think you give ANet too much credit.
Why doesn’t dagger OH have life force generation? I ask because it is the only weapon slot we have that doesn’t have a way to generate life force. Is there a reason the devs left this out?
It seems simple and necessary to add 5% per bounce to dagger 4 as this would make it functionally the same as focus 4 as far as life force generation.
Another choice and one I would prefer is dagger 5 generating 5% per target hit and that would give condimancers a good way to spike generate LF in aoe situations.
I think everyone just assumed it did that… Well I did. Nice to know for a fact I suppose.
Well I should have said it can hit hard now without sacrificing all defensive stats to do it. With my current build I have 26k hp and that is pretty good especially since LF is dependent on hp. This really seems like an ideal build for damage and survivability.
I was just running beryl orbs for maximum crit damage bonus. I realize this isn’t ideal but I wasn’t going to dump tons of money on this spekittenil I tested it.
Yes the 7k crits were on debuffed targets below 50% with me at about 10 stacks of might which can be achieved just by staying in DS to unload lifeblasts. In a group when doesnt a target have max stacks of vuln and when wont I be able to stay in DS to blast away? Also the highest LB crit I got so far was 8.5k.
Without debuffs and buffs critting a player in www for 5.5-6k is still going to be the norm and still devastating.
Here is the exact build and gear setup I did it with. I don’t think runes of the scholar would be a significant damage boost and it would drop a lot of HP so I am unlikely to pick them up when the price is 3.5g a piece. I will eventually replace all the trinkets for ascended power+prec+vit+crit damage pieces.

Axe is the last weapon a condimancer should ever use for anything. Dagger generates LF faster, staff applies plenty of conditions and generates LF using 1 and if traited all marks. Also axe generates very little LF.
30/30///* might be the absolute maximum theoretical dps for condi but it certainly isn’t the most well rounded and well rounded means actually achieving that theoretical dps.
A downed glass cannon does very little dps.
With such eloquence it is hard to not take your points seriously.
You are correct it does work, it just really needs to do more IMO.
I tested against a guardian with full clerics in sPvP and his staff auto attacks did slightly more damage than the 3% LF generation with Spectral Armor or Spectral Walk.
I use reaper’s precision but I am unsure if we are actually gaining LF in DS
Sure feels like nearly 100% in lich form. Others please confirm or deny.
I have been trying to test this and so far it doesn’t look like I am gaining any lifeforce by activating Spectral Armor and then going into DS when getting focused or taking lots of hits. Can a dev confirm/deny this functionality please.
So far it looks like I can’t gain Life Force in Death Shroud.

Yup it won’t be very effective in tPvP that is for sure, zerg v zerg it will work a bit better I suspect. In small scale group wvw it has been working for me though.
It is still a flat 50% bonus. Also I have a sneaking suspicion that it applies to lich form as well.
I was critting for 7k wearing full valkyrie gear. It really has the potential to hurt now.
in its current form I think it mostly isn’t worth it.
so sad. i think 17.5 was deserved but thats just me. “I” believe it should be 30 secs base . steal really isnt that strong and we dont hav any more than 1500 dmg on it so its not a real killer. even when mug hit for 6k it was only a few QQers bc its was 45 secs. idk
I agree that 17.5s seemed fair.
I would encourage you guys to try giving up GM for a while
Like I said, I’ve tried. Staff is completely useless without greater marks. People just walk around them otherwise. Trying to use staff auto in any situation in PVP is also a waste of time. There are a hundred different things you could be doing that would bring more to your team.
People walking around your marks means you aren’t aiming them properly and greater marks is a band-aid.
How about making Shrouded Removal 5pt or 15pt minor? would it be too much?
If it was 5 points I think it would be too good.
A very good roaming spec.
