Taking one slot in Black Lion Chest. Tried both with “dropped” and bought keys – same result. Is it because both types of keys were obtained during the Wintersday?
Looks like a lot of my current builds will be doa of hot :/
-massive nerf to grenades range, unless mortar is dramatically improved this is going to be a big deal in a lot of situations
-healing bombs apparently removed? (I’m assuming medkits dropped by bunker down are single target only?), replaced by heal finishers… not much help if you pre might stack fights – energized armor and performance enhancement gone, power shoes also gone. All hits to the build I run with my celestial setup.
-modified ammo and juggernaut now both grandmaster, juggernaut no longer stacks might
-incendiary ammo now moved to grandmaster in firearms, mainly an SPVP flexibility thing so not so bad for me at least
-stabilized armor gone, if stabilized does come back I imagine it will be in a higher tier mastery slot but again more a flexibility thing
-Also not gonna enjoy taking the entire tools line now as mandatory for speedy kits in basically every single build, might be forced to sacrifice current upgrades for centaur, speed or traveler runes for some builds otherwise I guess
They seem to be improving med kit for team support which is cool, but is it gonna be worth losing our only water field, additional blast finisher and perm regen? Have to wait and see.
Looks like a lot of stuff is still being sorted out so no idea how new builds are gonna work but it certainly looks like a bunch of my old ones are out the window.

Michael:
Would it be possible, or appropriate, to perodically post statics of people being actioned without revealing names, account info, or anything.
Something like:
Last month
22 people were warned about being abusive in chat.
37 people were suspended for disrupting game play
13 people were banned for using thirdy party cheat programs.
etc.
Something like this would go a long way to show that something is being done about such people. As it is now, we hear so little and see even less in game to even consider that the GMs are doing something. Which leads to many many people believe that such behavior is acceptable because as those people were saying “Anet doesn’t do anything so why does it matter?”
Just a thought….
It’s the chain I beat you with until you

Yes, anything that ANet can do to let us know that action is taken regularly would be helpful. Obviously, doubters are still gonna doubt, but there are many players who would be more likely to spend the time needed to make a verifiable report, if they knew that their actions are likely to result in action…instead of inaction.
I’m sure you guys do internal metrics regularly, since that’s how you know if your policies are effective, so maybe some of that could be “cleaned up” for the public.
I know Michael already does this on a much smaller level. As shown in this thread, and the GM proheals thread, but something a bit more would go along way in the eyes of the players.

Oh does he? I’d love to see this as a quarterly blog feature. “This week in GM Proheal’s Tyria!”
Said it before and say it again … just add the name of the person to the end of the siege name…. “superior flame ram by hexin.5603”
I LOVE this idea! I’m always trying to find out who placed siege, so I can give them tips on better placement (I run server initiatives on things like siege placement).
NSP – northernshiverpeaks.org
… I found the person that was placing siege and terminated that account…
I’m glad to hear this is still being pursued. The last WvW season was…. very frustrating with regard to siege trolls.

Well I’m sure there’ll be some free feature packs eventually and the living story should continue, too.
…
Actually kind of curious how the living story will continue without touching the expansion for the expansion-less people.
Is there a particular ore/lumber type you find is always your limiting factor? Do you find yourself buying more of one material type than the others when crafting? Do you find it particularly difficult to find certain ore/lumber to gather? If so what is it?
I’m finding mine to be 2nd tier, iron ore and soft wood. Mostly due to ascended crafting. The reason being:
a. It takes 4 softwood logs to refine instead of the usual 3 (WTH is with that anyways!??)
b. I need iron for both steel and iron ingots.
c. I don’t spend that much time in 2nd tier regions. It does help that rich iron nodes are all over Tyria and they seem pretty reliable in location.
So I don’t know if my pain is typical or just from ignorance of the best acquisition methods. However, if Anet ever tweaks crafting requirements or increase gathering nodes, I would nominate these two as the ones needing the most love.
I suppose you could also mention a harvesting node, but those don’t seem to annoy me as much mostly because I only cook a few recipes from time to time. If ascended cooking ever becomes a thing than I suppose there would be more of an issue. For me right now I’m always low on vanilla beans mostly because when I harvest the nodes in Maguuma I get something other than vanilla beans.
So, what are your favorite resources needing a balance?
WvW-players? Really?
* Only PvE players would cap supply camp while their ally are dying in 500 range
* Only PvE players will AFK in the WvW area
* Only PvE players think what claiming strategic keeps (like Garrison or Stonemist) for their lol-guild without any buffs - pretty good idea
* Only PvE-players will attacking tank-Guardian while his Zerk allies killing them.
* If some keep has a siege weapons - be sure, it will be abused by PvE-players without relevant WvW-skills.
* Who will never understand some usual and obvious names for objectives? PvE-players.
* Only PvE-players will take supply camps and never upgrade it after
Seafarer’s Rest (EU): Liicher (Engi), Lii Cher (Warrior), Swf (Elem),
Licharr (Guard), Lich Eir (Ranger), Alt Fh (Thief). Lii Cherr (Mesm), S Wf (Necr)
Only a WvW player has 2000 hours played but still broke, no map completion or legendary and still sees FOTM as Flavor of the Month.
Sanctum of Rall
What would happen to the market in general if Precursors were added as an exclusive gem store item? I have a feeling that the prices of many items will actually climb (i.e. rare/exotic weapons, T5 and T6 mats) even though there would be less demand. My reasoning is that although there is less demand for such items, it would cut out a gold sink, which allows for more gold in circulation, which leads to prices being higher. And of course the gold>gem conversion would skyrocket, as more people would farm gold to convert to gems to but precursors. At least thats my assesment. Any thoughts?
The market would be empty, due to lack of server support… because our office would be burned to the ground by an angry mob.
Just minutes ago I was in the process of selling mats at the crafting areas to be greeted by two enemy players, a mesmer and a thief. They killed all the crafting merchants, shadow refuged and disappeared afterwards. Its not a huge deal cause the NPCs do re-spawn overtime. How are people able to get into Citadel and why hasn’t it been addressed? I was not able to take a screenshot or get their names unfortunately but that’s not the point. There should not be any way for enemies to get into the Citadel to begin with. I believe the same thing happened in another server with SoS players being inside the Citadel. I’d like to know what you guys think, as I’m sure I’m not the only person to be greeted by the enemy in your own Citadel.
and no, I’m not talking about mesmer portals into Keeps, I’m talking borderland Citadels where it should be blocking off all enemies.
I wouldn’t be all that opposed to removing rally. It’s actually a really crappy mechanic when you think about it.
Publicity stunt successful. They won’t bother wvw for 6 months now.
Except that I myself have several wins this month in the eyes of the WvW community. We’re kicking kitten.
In fact I’m hunting right now. On day 1 of my vacation. I care that much. Come say hi!

There are 6 GMs with the power to monitor WvW in the live environment and all work directly under me.
6 seems like a small number to monitor all of WvW. Is this a test before expanding the team or is your data indicating you can monitor everything with just 6?
I’m not trying to be critical, just mildly curious.
Either way, I think it’s cool that we may see visible dev oversight when there’s a problem.
Great question. The total number is much larger, only those 6 and myself will ever be visible.

I haven’t read this entire thread because it started to become a lot of “I heard he/she did this”. Here’s what is happening and you’re going to see more of it.
There are 6 GMs with the power to monitor WvW in the live environment and all work directly under me. The shots above are of me (GM Proheals) standing in Bay after BlackGate took the point.
I ran all the way from TCs Gari into Bay visible and was a Guardian the entire time. No tool exists to allow anyone to switch professions.
We have the ability to switch to any of the 3 teams (blue/green/red) in order to properly police WvW. This allows us to visibly take action against players due to recent outcry that we aren’t actually there doing anything. We can also switch to a fourth team making us ‘friendly’ to all teams but we can’t communicate with you when we do. We also can’t communicate with hostile teams which is why we’re team switching.
These characters are separate from both our play and work accounts – and when used in WvW are only policing. Any interaction such as killing or taking a point (standing in the circle) will flag for audit.
This wasn’t a test. I was there doing live monitoring of the WvW environment. We’re looking for hacks, invisible players, siege griefing, and more. We’ll be present on all servers randomly for both NA & EU and have no bearing on the outcome of a match.
See https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/wuv/Ingame-GMs-do-they-exist for more on what we do in WvW.
Many of you know me in game and I thank you for the positive feedback we’re getting while we work on keeping WvW balanced and fair. If you helped me take down a cheater – cheers!

the only ones who benefit from “no white swords” are ppl trying to ninja objectives against under-populated servers.
So your dishonestly claiming that absolutely no one at all, benefits by being capable of ninja taking keeps now unless they are against under populated servers?
It’s not a step in the right direction, it’s the exact opposite: it encourages all the wrong types of gameplay.
It is absolutely a step in the right direction as I see it.
What is the matter with you people? I keep reading posts like this saying it’ll encourage small group play. But it also encourges EOTM karma training. It discourages upgrades. The point is, with 1 large group flash-taking T1 undefended buildings as fast as possible (60 seconds on the paper door, 30 seconds on lord, 2 minutes between targets), WHO. NEEDS. YOU. You, the ninja teams. The havoc squads. You’re not needed any more. So what if it makes ninja’ing a keep easier? The blob is still better at it than you. The blob meta wins.
Not only that, but you’re going to start getting abuse from the k-trainers on your team for denying them loot.
Your small squad meta is going to die out. It’s going to die out because you get tired of abuse from your own server. Or because every time you go to a BL you see everything your color because the blob took it. Or because you’ve realized that PPT is even more pointless now that servers are trading buildings for karma instead of holding for points.

If anyone hasn’t seen this, it’s so worth a look. It’s absolutely hilarious, more so if you’ve done this too. I used to get teased that I probably could have bought a legendary with how much I’ve spent upgrading.
T8 NA (Kaineng)
Here’s a summary of my experience so far:
*Less upgrades are happening. Players are starting to realize that things are getting flipped much more often, so it’s not worth the cost.
*More scouting is happening. I have noticed more players speaking up in map chat and reporting on enemy movement. This is tough when you have maybe 5-10 players on the whole map, but people sure seem to be stepping up to scout!
*More offense (PvD and open-field fights) and less defense is happening.
*PPT seems a bit more even. Almost all day today that I was on, all 3 worlds had ~200 ticks.
Again, just my perspective.
T1 – Zergs are plowing mostly paper maps now.
“Youre lips are movin and youre complaining about something thats wingeing.”
T4 – If a keep is papered anywhere near primetime, it is guaranteed to be repeatedly sacked by a multitude of separate roaming guilds at separate times. This makes golem rushing and whatnot in off hours far more effective than before.
Also, roaming is now far more difficult. It’s a lot harder to track down a roaming group/player, though not impossible (if they skip sentries and are even slightly unpredictable it’s basically GG).
Bad change, makes for a decently fun event though. 2-3 manned a multitude of keeps in tier 4 (which given the population I’ve seen from each server, just shouldn’t happen).

I’m an oceanic WvW player on Ehmry Bay (currently tier 6) and for me the removal of white swords has been a terrible experience. In the past, home BL defense was already hard enough with the white swords, let alone without them. Most of the time we have around 5 people online, at most, and so we don’t want to have to sit in our keeps and towers and simply keep watch for the whole night, that’s neither fun or rewarding.
Before the removal of white swords, we were able to head across to the enemy BL and take some camps and towers whilst simultaneously making sure no enemies were trying to ninja our structures, whereas now, our structures are being capped left right and center, and we have no way to tell that they’re about to be taken (aside from scouting our structures, which we neither want to do or have enough people online to do).
People want the white swords to be removed because now they can take enemy objectives with no resistance what-so-ever. If the enemy had scouts, they’d be spotted and slain, just like they would if there were white swords, but fortunately for all the small group karma trainers, most people don’t enjoy scouting, and most servers don’t have enough numbers to afford scouts.
All the removal of white swords has does is made it incredibly hard for defenders, and really easy for attackers.
Just a few suggestions for the OP/comments.
Don’t get overwhelmed with WvW, there may not seem it, however there is a lot to playing in WvW. (It goes beyond player build and class, and pushes into how cooperative players are with one another, along with knowing your enemy, siege, terrain, gears, knowing maps, locations, abbreviation’s, ect…)
It take a while for some to pick up, and others learn quicker, however WvW is not only based off 1 players skill or another’s alone. However in fights a players skill can make a huge difference.
A big tip:
Try asking those on your server in wvw if the server has a central voice communication set. Many times you will find people on a servers cental voice comms, who will be more than happy to help you learn about wvw, in addition to those who use wvw as a quick way to communicate information/movement and fights.
Now as for being a lower level in wvw, some may yell about it. (Mainly due to the rally system and points per kill.) Lower levels will not normally do as much damage as a lvl 80, and will take more damage then fully geared lvl 80s. However you can still do things, you just have to be very aware of everything around you at all times, more-so then a lvl 80 would need to be.

Only one of eight match ups appears to be even remotely competitive. Four match ups are kaput for the week and three others are trending that way.
And we’re,what, 14 hours into the reset?
Sigh….

Use grenades. Actually if u don’t like grenades … try to get used to grenades or roll another class. Grenades are the strongest way to play engineer and will ever be the strongest way (not my words, this was said by Anet in the last state of the game.)
