Did i miss something?
Not if you aren’t a fan of the band mentioned above. (Yes, if you are.)
I’m familiar with the whole shrek meme if that’s what you mean. I just hadn’t seen anything on any of Anets media outlets
In the news article it’s a rewording of the song. Pretty kitten brilliant imo.
…anyway, this isn’t about me, it’s about Eir
You’re right, but legacy still means after their death…Seriously please just change the title you’re being rude
I think the OP missed out on the part where new legendary weapons are being released
Wait hold on you think staff would fit thief, but you don’t want staff to fit thief because of Heart of Thorns exclusively….and you don’t think it’ll happen anyway. Besides that you’ve admitted to making posts about this beforehand so why are you making this post at all?
Rainbows aren’t for the exclusive use of gay pride
No but it’s become a symbol of it and a representation….
Nice
Do you by chance know where to get that/what to search for on the Nexus? I can’t find it.
I know exactly where to search for it. Google images.
There was also a story added in at the end of World 2 so I’m pretty sure keeping it in Rata is the best choice….Where is our forsaken SAB…
ANet shows its support for diversity in tons of different ways. You can make your own rainbow dye very easily: dye each piece of armor a different color.
This ^ /Chars that I need to add
Did you stop to think of how ridiculous that would look on armor

How big is the knife supposed to be if it’s 2 handed……
The game doesn’t have guild halls….
There is a powerfull request from the community from launch. Arenanet had a CDI bout guilds and the most powerfull call from the community was guildhalls. They also said they take the community seriously. So people assume they are preparing guildhalls and that we can expect them soon, but that is based on assumptions. There is no formal announcement or any indication that they are actually working on it. It doesn’t mean they are not, but at the moment the answer to your question is that there are no halls at all
You realize guild halls are part of the expansion right?
That same poster posted in an HoT thread yesterday that guild halls are just speculation, and was responded to with the HoT link for, and wiki information on, the coming guild halls. So, I’m guessing no he or she doesn’t realize. He or she is being intentionally ignorant that halls are coming.
/blinks….. O_O wut

Only answer you’ll get. Nobody knows yet
The general consensus on that is it’s too underwhelming to be a legendary staff
My first thought was “Game of Thrones” finishers! Then I realized ANET has this halfway done already. All they need is to replace the audio for the spectre (the backstabber) with the theme from GoT and voila!
Conditions can’t crit though so I think that’s the reason Power/Feroc/Condi doesn’t exist. Without decent precision crits would be irrelevant for ferocity
Although those stats would be amazing for hybrid builds.
Well the issue is what are you getting out of it. Power/Precision/Condi like Sinister is your best case for a hybrid. With Power and Ferocity without Precision there’s a terrible chance for you to actually crit which in theory nullifies the purpose of ferocity whereas with precision replacing ferocity at least you can crit. I’d have to do the number crunching to figure out what would be more worthwhile.

Did anyone ask the OP if he signed up for the newsletter?
The games that have mounts were designed from the ground up (technical wise) to support displaying them (taking into account the resources on both server and client end needed to support them). This is not the case in GW2 and while it’s easy to armchair quarterback what would be needed to add them into the game (wile maintaining current player performance across the game), anyone that states it would be “simple” or “easy” is greatly mistaken.
The debacle with minis (that still garners complaints when they are “un-displayable”) should prove to everyone that you can’t simply add multi-thousand polygon count, animated NPCs for every player to the game without performance issues that GW2 simply cannot support in it’s current state. Revamping the entire to game to add a vanity item that is not needed for actual game play travel is a pretty HUGE request and I feel quite confident it’s not going to happen.
Probably one of the most reasonable counters to this discussion
EDIT: In response to those above
A. I wander around the world quite often. It’s one of the things I like to do in my casual time, especially Ascalonian regions because of the soundtrack for them is imo my favorite.
B. You say waypoints make the world feel small but to an extent mounts that make everything go by quicker but to a lesser degree than waypoints is, well, making the world feel smaller too
Most people would rather ride than walk. Don’t believe me? Leave your car/bike/horse/lear jet in the garage/driveway/barn/hangar for a week. Walk everywhere. To work, to the bank, to the grocery store, to the movies. Pretend all the waypoints are contested. Try to convince your friends, family, and co-workers to do the same. Heck, let’s reduce the time to just one day. Ready? Go!
If we had mounts, we would ride.
Let me ask you this. When was the last time you walked all the way to Citadel of Flame from LA. When’s the last time you walked into a queue’d pvp match in spvp. When’s the last time you walked into silverwastes once you unlocked the waypoint there. Oh wait…There’s that fancy word that ANET made mounts irrelevant. Waypoints.
And that’s why the game is dull.
That’s actually an opinion. I personally enjoy not having to run up to dungeons every single time

This mounts controversy reminds me of a situation I experienced a few years ago out here in (drum roll) Real Life.
My elderly uncle would let the trash bags pile up in his basement, and then I’d end up helping him load it all up in his truck and take it to the dump.
One day I said, “Uncle, why not put the trash out by the end of the driveway? The garbage collector guys will pick it up. You’re being charged for this service on your city water bill anyway, so why not take advantage of it?”
He said, “Seems like that would be more trouble than taking it to the dump.”
/e picard facepalm
I went to a local store and bought a big garbage can with wheels, and that was the end of that.
The moral of the story: people get stuck in their ways and sometimes the only way to get through to them is to go ahead and put mounts in the game. If we had them, we would ride.
Can’t that final statement go the same way for those of you asking for mounts that you’re stuck in your ways that they should exist?
Spoiler alert heart of maguuma is just a cleverly disguised SAB world 3…………I JUST WANT IT BACK
We’ve gotten plenty of hate in the past, but not recently
Most fun in all modes except pvp for me: Warrior.
PvP: Ranger (not power before I get pew pew)
Jumping puzzles: Warrior but I bring my Mesmer for friends.
anet is avoiding instances, their “Challenging group content” is large world boss fights. Here are the first raids we got, expect similar ones probably increasing in length and fifficulty in the future.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Tequatl_the_Sunless
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Triple_TroubleWell technically we haven’t been told either way. We’re assuming based on previous content that it won’t be raids. We could be wrong.
You’re not wrong I’m just going off a recurring theme that seems probable. But yeah definitely could be wrong myself
I don’t mind the Revenant but they really could have used Weapon Swap. I mean the traits have stuff that compensate for being melee or ranged but eh. I like being able to switch depending on the situation.
Would you like to have a word with eles and engineers?

The beta test makes things very limited for everyone. In case you didn’t notice the Revenant isn’t even fully completed. What krall said was not wrong, (maybe a little out of touch buddy with the way it came across lol) but this is a stress test. Don’t expect everything to be on par
This wasn’t just from this beta test it’s been out since at least the last patch

There’s no means of implementing anything like that at the moment, so the easy answer no
Guild Wars 2 HoT Release Date? [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

This has been stated on MANY threads via the forums and reddit. Unless the announcement has been made by ANET, don’t believe anything
Focus on open world may be unique to GW2 but it sure is too much focus. There is literally nothing in open world that would force you to utilize any other skills apart from auto attack. (I’m aware of the fact that TT and Tequatl need the occasional reflect, but i see so many mesmers/guardians ignore that, that it just serves to prove the point.)
That is not challenging, and if open world right now is challenging for people and anet creates new encounters based on that, then the future “challenging group content” will be abysmal.
I understand that we need this kind of stuff to keep the crowd happy but the game has a really great combat system and some of us want to actually use it.
Teq and TT were steps in the right direction for challenging content. Groups that consistently run TT aka TTS fail all the time. It’s not a guaranteed win. Could it be harder? Of course but that’s what ANET is looking to bring in the expac. “Raid-like” content in the open world that challenges players more than what they’ve done. I’m not expecting anything awesome or perfect but ANET has learned from those encounters.
This is what charr is like in gw1, 99% of them. Pyre fierceshot is worst example.
They also move like humans.
Did you not read any posts above? The shamans stood upright…

This is old news. Until ANET actually tells us on their website when the release or pre order date is, like Krall said, don’t believe anything else
People play female charrs…. Lies.
Because who wouldn’t want to play this……
From a lore standpoint of your dungeon armor theory, no the flame legion, nightmare court and ghosts do not have armor available for you. It’s armor crafted in their likelihood and style by the “good” NPCs, not made BY the villains.
As @Firelysm already said, it’s a method of exclusivity. It’s a way to show off “I’m a human look at my warrior, or thief” “I’m an asura look at how cool our armor is”. IT’s a means to feel worthwhile for playing that race. If you haven’t noticed a lot of players enjoy the cultural armor, which they should. For some it gives them a reason to play a sylvari necro, or a sylvari guardian. Change this to make it available to everyone, and you might as well change all our races to human.
Oh, and the people calling me “entitled” – really? I’ve already put in the work to get my characters where I want them to be. These sorts of changes are unwelcome and unnecessary. What we need instead is huge changes to WvW to rescue it before both it and the game go under.
So you’re saying you’re entitled now to WvW changes because you think without them the game will go under but you are arguing with people calling you “entitled”. Read your own post please before submitting it. The changes are not unwelcome and not unnecessary.
Currently in PvE which is ANET’s main focus with this expansion, conditions have a poor place. Condis are capped and builds that aren’t power are shoved under the bed. If you took the time to look on the forums/reddit and in game you’ll find the necro players applauding the condition changes in general because it’s believed condi builds will be more viable.
Condition immunity is a form of counterplay, because some builds don’t have the same access as warriors do when a super condi necro/engi comes into the scene to tear them to shreds.
As others have stated and I think you should read more carefully, nothing has been deemed final yet and official. We do not know exactly how this will react to the current state of the game and its application, so, we have to wait and speculate without tossing on our rage hats.
Like Windsagio said there’s no way to really determine which party system would be best without a highly structured summary or collection of data. Anet’s stance is that they don’t really care about selling paths as long as no exploits are involved, and similar to scams via mail and player-player trading they’ll move to take action against scammers based on evidence from an agent but that’s about it.
I don’t thank the new longbow will go with the outfit as well . Why ?
Guardian is getting a bow would think it will be guardian based in looks
same with all the others like a staff with something simaler to flowers as well since its gonna be more for a Ranger just like the kudzaIf you want something that will go with your balthazar outfit try some balthazar weapons
The Spirit Weapons are already Guardian based. There’s no need for a legendary to have its appearance solely based around a class. Kudzu fits with rangers naturally, but it’s also a weapon lacking in “masculinity” (not bringing up any hate on who prefers it or not). Many male rangers don’t have it because of that reason that I know personally. The staff we saw in the trailer is most likely just a new skin, similar to the revenant themed weapons. Those aren’t legendaries solely based around that class, just new weapon skins that match their theme.
This Beta Portal is a freaking sham....

If stop to searching/thinking about only the portal and looking for gold that you’re making during this farm one day (until tomorrow) the portal will drop.
My guild mates, me and my husband got our portals after we stopped to look about it and only thinking about the gold that we will make selling materials that we got in this entire week.
That’s….That’s not how it works at all..
Its hidden in plain site.. Go to the page
https://heartofthorns.guildwars2.com/en/?_ga=1.183425510.155037214.1428874933very bottom at the screenshots.. first two look like playable tengu..
They are NPCs from the Stronghold map.
Was it really worth bumping a two month old thread for that?
And there is the keep (Air I think, or maybe it was a tower?) boss in the new wvw borderlands thats a Tengu.
There’s also a Kodan, Grawl, and Ogre boss in Edge of the Mists. The Tengu boss in the new wvw map is highly just for variety. As is the new map itself, variety and keeping things fresh.
If you didn’t want flowery/grassy footfalls, then Kudzu was probably a poor choice for a legendary.
So what can i do, when there is not another legendary longbow? And i am not talking about change footsteps, but get choice into a game to manage it as you want.. just like with GS.. just have choice of 1 or 2 another footstep animations.. e.g. black/red or something like this.. Should be nice for appearence.. And i think a lot of ppl will be happy with this Thanx!
The Greatswords are unique in that there are two…It’s not like you can interchange the footfalls them at will because they are two separate weapons…Like the post right above mine wait until the new legendaries come out. There’s nothing saying you have to make a legendary longbow….
As Kishlin said Arah 2/3 and even 1 (which I do anyway) is profitable for selling as a warrior. With newpi Lupi warriors have the option to do it relatively well but obviously not as easy as it used to be. S/S sinister is viable yes, but remember that it’ll take you much longer to effectively kill anything. Besides s/s LB was a kill set before the lupi change. Your safest bet of completing lupi now anyway is axe/sword GS or even safer mace/sword GS
If you didn’t want flowery/grassy footfalls, then Kudzu was probably a poor choice for a legendary.
+1 This…And Idk about you OP but I don’t know where you thought happy pew pew flower time + God of War outfit lined up in the first place….
