I think people are too stuck to the word “Dailies”
What harm would it do?
If someone finishes their dailies in 2 hours then they don’t reset until the next “daily” restart. Nothing would change for them.
If daily = “completed” (then) generate new daily on restart time.
It wouldn’t hurt anything if it took someone 3 days to finish a daily… If you want to play everyday for hours then more power to you… you’re still getting more for playing more.
I like this idea for those who don’t have the time to commit.
You’re alienating the super-casual players, potentially, by not allowing them to get laurels.
I don’t like crafting and don’t care to try.
If I get stuck with a daily crafting then I waste a day to try and get laurels.
I think this is an oversight by someone who assumes all people enjoy crafting.
I do not. I want to be able to re-roll my daily achievements list until I don’t have a crafting daily to achieve.

@OP: I roll with a hybrid of brutally’s Crit-Hammer AH build and I don’t ever use spirit weapons. I find them to not be as useful as shouts that give boons, condition removers, projectile walls, or stability buffs. The trade-off just isn’t there for what I do as a Guardian.
But, then again, it all depends on you in the end.

I figure admitting it was my fault would have helped you understand that I understood that it was my fault for not realizing the souldbind. Don’t beat yourself up for missing that… like I did.
If Tokens aren’t souldbound then what point is there to soulbind the only things it could buy that will be souldbound on use anyways? It’s a complication for the sake of being a complication… imo of course. I don’t see how it serves a purpose.
What’s the difference who buys the item? It’s all your account.
If people want to grind with one character they will do it anyways. Making tokens account bound won’t change that.
This is a suggestions forum and I had a suggestion.
It would be nice if someone did the same thing I did and didn’t have to facepalm in the same manner.
btw Dream: It’s only ~120 tears which is a couple of runs… It’s not that heartbreaking. I think it’s cute that you immediately attempted to fanboi me to death, though.

Runes of the Dungeons, ( monk, forge, etc. ) are soulbound on acquire.
Since you can’t sell them, just like gathering tools, can you do what you did with those and make them account bound?
I just bought a Superior Rune of the Monk with my engineer and wanted to use it on my guardian… and I can’t. I missed the soulbound on aquire. That’s my fault.
But I was still disappointed to see that I needed to buy it with my Guardian. What’s the point of that?
It doesn’t soulbind the tokens so why soulbind items you can buy with them?
Now it’s useless to me, cost me 120~ AC tears, and now I’m depressed. Again my fault… but got me thinking what the point actually is?

As soon as you hit 30 you will see an email arrive that will have a button “show me”
Once you hit that it opens your large map, zooms in where the dungeon entrance is, and then it will permanently be on your map.
Same when you hit 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80.
Don’t worry… you won’t miss it.

Wow a positive post in the engineer section.
I love my engineer but the recent updates killed my grenades.
Now I’m sulking and asking God why.
But why would you search for something like this?
You can’t expect people to read the wiki all day for things they might acquire or purchase. I understand the logic behind “unique” but what does it hurt explaining it in the description of the item?
Anet seems to have a habit of erroring on the non-informative side of descriptions.
I would agree with the OP that he got kitten over by Anet on this one.
Just because it’s on the wiki doesn’t mean Anet shouldn’t explain better in-game.
This isn’t the first time I’ve seen people waste time/money due the the lack of description or details from an item.
Just my 2 cents.
Or you could invest some time in learning eye-hand coordination and get better at jumping.
People who have a hard time jumping and hitting forward while watching the environment around them shouldn’t be playing this game.

2. Copy and paste the name of the item into gw2db.com
3. Find the item you want to preview in-game and copy the “chat code” from the right side of the page.
4. paste it into the game chat.
wallah… you can preview just about anything… legendaries to whites.
You can just browse gw2db as well and just look until your eyes bleed.
Just wanted to share this in case some people don’t know that you can do that.
“seems like” this is your subjective observation and opinion on a mater that is infinitely more complex than you make it out to be. There’s nothing objectively quantitative here to substantiate your claim, so I’d dismiss the assumption as “it’s just you”. You could at least offer a reason as to WHY you blame FotM for this and not the multitude of other variables that could play into your observation.

What do you expect at about this time after release?
People have done a couple 80 characters, mapping is getting old for some who started on release, and dungeons are getting to the point of being predictable because people are grinding through them every day to get that cool helm or pair of leet pants.
Sounds like it’s all right on schedule.
Does nobody notice that the map of Tyria is only like 50% open?
Stop playing 8 hours a day and maybe you’re time-line and the devs would get closer and the game would be more fun.
Go outside for a minute and stop eating all those cupcakes. When you do that let me know how… because I can’t seem to figure it out either. : )
Does prolonged exposure to Agent Orange add a chromosome?

My major complaint is the Sigil issue.
Agreed. This happens to us on a daily basis… for the most part.
Any dungeon and not just Fractals… We have people with sketchy ISP’s and another who lives in Brazil and during peak times may experience disconnects.
I know this isn’t your fault and I know this is circumstances beyond all of our control… however I agree with the OP that this might be something you guys could take on and help us.
In GW this was not an issue. In GW2 it is… it can be looked at as a step back and not a step forward.

I don’t know who cares about this but here it goes.
I followed the idea Brutally had about using a Superior Sigil of Blood and omnomberry pies…
This combination gives you a 96% chance to steal health on crit.
It works like a champ. I use a Knights Hammer + All Exotic Knight’s Draconic gear. ( Ugly as kitten btw )
Toughness out the wazoo and low HP. ~ 13,000 +/- a hundred.
I feel like my only Achilles Heel is a sharp damage spike… but you can time Aegis from “Retreat!” or Virtue of Courage… which along with “Renewed Focus” gives you 3 Aegis chances vs. any Champion/Mob.
I highly recommend the Knights’ Armor + Knight’s Hammer (TOUGHNESS!) and then rolling with a Superior Sigil of Blood + Omnomberry Pies.

We were completing a 3rd part of Fractals and got booted before completion… but of course that doesn’t matter to anyone else but us.
Pretty lame, imo.
One time events, imo, should be just that… but not a one time global event. You should be able to do the event anytime you want… and then it disappears so you can’t do it again during the event weekend.
It’s neat having a global event, i get that, but if there are rewards and only people who schedule RL to run concurrently with arena net’s schedule gets these rewards and experiences… that’s kind of cheating me out of an experience that’s unique to this game.
I can get to my PC within the weekend… but right at a specific time and not ever again?
Kind of lame, imo.

This is an approach and a philosophy… and the most in-depth composition on approaching the Hammer since the original “Crit-Hammer” thread… which I still read when at work to familiarize myself with what to understand before I can consider myself worth a kitten in-game.
The detail you go into helps me understand how to approach builds, weapons, armor, sigils, runes, accessories, etc. for all classes in any RPG. This transcends the Guardian. Your approach to the “synergy” aspect of a toon is elegant and simple in it’s grandeur.

With a game of this magnitude being non-subscription based… and me spending $50.00 USD on gems that netted me nothing… and then you coming along and wanting to make changes to this system that is clearly making you money hand over fist… I don’t know what to say. Have you lost your minds?
I paid good money for this game and was expecting a product and real-money purchasing system that not only ripped me off but delivered to me nothing of any in-game value whatsoever.
However… after playing for hours on end… I’ve got nothing to show for it but an interesting story, cool graphics, no wait times, dungeons everywhere, a new approach to the Holy Trinity, a re-defining of how an MMORPG should be designed and played, and unparalleled response to a community that loves you. And that last part, which I don’t think I have to point out, is creppy as all heck.
Now you have the audacity to change the system to make people happy… I can’t properly convey how disappointed I am in Anet for this decision. It should take months to change something like this… not hours. The roll-outs and updates should break more things that they fix… not just fix things.
I’m so happy that I don’t know what to be unhappy about.
This approach really ticks me off. I get more done at work, I’m happier in my relationships, my cat got better, and I found my wallet I lost back in 07’.
I don’t know what you guys are doing over there… but please cut it out before I volunteer my time with homeless children or something.

Being social shouldn’t be completely the responsibility of the developers… it should require some kind of effort on the part of the players.

Look in the guild recruitment threads and you will find multiple guilds looking to recruit like-minded players.
Shouldn’t be too hard with a good 30-45 minutes of reading.

I’m sorry if this was covered already but I’ve searched and can’t find a specific answer to this specific question.
I see links and links of people posting shots of armor and weapons. I see the skins I like in weapons and armor but can’t figure out how I know from looking at the name and/or the icon in the trading company what weapon/armor is going to look like what skin.
I know the karma vendors have special names and I can find those just fine… but if I wanted to know what a, for example, “Bandit Rifle” looks like… because multiple skins share the same icon, I don’t know where to find that information. It’s not a unique icon.
I know I can preview… but you can’t preview from the trading company.
Does anyone know a source for this or explain to me how you know, without a doubt, when you buy a weapon or piece of armor, what it’s going to look like?
