Server Transfers

I am not sure if this is where to post this, but it is mostly a question to the Dev.’s.
Currently I play on Dragonbrand. My guild that I started the game with has all but quit. Once of my guilds went to Sea of Sorrows and the other went to Jade Quarry. I intended to follow those guilds as I was getting to know the people, but both Sea of Sorrows and Jade Quarry are full.
Now, I figured the population of servers drops at night so late at night I would be able to make the transfer. This has not been so, every hour for the last 24 these servers populations are still showing full… is there any way to transfer to those two servers to play with the groups of people I have become to know these past weeks? Or am I SOL?

Regards.

@ John Smith

I had a similar issue the other night, I bought some stuff and never received it and sold some stuff that was removed from my inventory but never posted. I filed a bug report and went to bed. This evening when I logged on I was still out 2gold minimum from attempted and failed purchases and 4 items approx. 30 silver in value that I attempted to post on the BLTC. I filed another bug report… Is there anything more I should do?

Where would I report issues with the BLTC?

Yesterday I posted stuff on the BLTC and they never actually showed up, nor did I receive any currency for them. (4 Iron Boxes (Containers)/Crafting Materials)
I also attempted to buy items of the BLTC and had the money taken but received no items. (15 Powerful Bloods and lost almost 3 Gold in Currency)

Not sure if I am posting in the right place. I made an in game report, as well.

Cheers

Anyone?
Just looking for input. Specifically regarding my point distribution and not maxing out Power. I just don’t feel the last two abilities in Power are that amazing. But I am not sure if the bonus 100 Power I am missing out on by not going that far is worth not taking…

How to use gifts of exploration? How to craft legendaries? (Answered)

I have been researching this myself. Although I have found nothing official, I have heard speculation from numerous gaming sites that you may be able to use the gift of exploration in place of one of the other ‘gifts’ in the creation of legendary weapons.
Again, all just speculation.

If you hear something more plausible/official let me know.

Greetings,

I apologize, but I will be posting this build in script as I was unable to figure out how to save and repost a build off of a different website. As well, I will post some of my own comments/questions throughout for specific speculation. Cheers!

Guild Wars really made this game appealing down every avenue. I love to PvE, PvP, WvWvW and craft. This is my attempt to make an all around ‘Spec’ that has the utility to solo/group and be dynamic in ‘every’ way

Weapons:
Primary Weapon(s): Greatsword
Secondary Weapon(s): Axe/Warhorn(Primary) -or- Axe/Shield(Secondary)

Skills:
Healing Skill: Healing Signet –or- Mending

  • I am on the fence about this ability.
  • Healing Signet: Because I have “Restorative Strength” in my trait line under the power tree, any time I heal I remove Cripples/Freezes/Immobilizes/Weakness. However, it does not remove any other condition and it is on a 40 second cooldown. As well, it also heals for more.
  • Mending: This ability is on a 20 second cooldown and it removes two random conditions. If I keep this plus restorative strength, I can heal more often and remove slows. However, I could also toss Restorative Strength in exchange for say Great Fortitude and receive the bonus to my health.
    *Opinions?

Utility Skill # 1: Bull Charge

Utility Skill # 2: Endure Pain

Utility Skill # 3: Balanced Stance –or- “Fear Me!”

  • I am on the fence about these ability choices.
  • Balanced Stance: as a lot of merit for survivability to chase someone or retreat from an onslaught.
  • Fear me: Has the potential to screw up a lot of peoples rotations for a few seconds and clear an area to either retreat or re-engage a tricky target.
  • Opinions?

Elite Skill: Battle Standard –or- Signet of Fury

  • I am pretty set on Battle Standard. All in all it provides a buff, more specifically a good buff to everyone around me, as well; and it can rez, which is nice in any setting.
  • Signet is a self-buff, therefore not as group friendly.
  • Like I said, I am pretty set on Battle Standard. But I am open to criticism.

When dealing with these abilities, I know I can switch them for optimization in any situation any time out of combat. I am just laying these ones out as my primaries.

Trait Points:

Strength (Power): 20 Pts.

  • Adept Ability: II: Restorative Strength
  • Using a heal removes Cripple, Freeze, Immobilize and Weakness affects.
  • Master Ability: Slashing Power
  • Greatsword and Spear damage is increased by 10%

Arms (Precision): 25 Pts.

  • Adept Ability: III: Deep Cuts
  • Bleeds you apply last 50% Longer
  • Master Ability: X: Forceful Greatsword
  • Gain might on critical hit with a Greatsword or Spear. Greatsword and Spear abilities recharge 20% faster.

(I am on the fence between 10 pts in Defense or Tactics)

Defense (Toughness): 10 Pts.

  • Adept Ability: II: Turtle Defense
  • Gain 200 Toughness when crippled, chilled, stunned or immobilized.

OR:

Tactics (Vitality): 10 Pts.

  • Adept Ability: I: Leg Specialist
  • Apply a 1 second immobilized when you cripple a target with a skill.

Discipline (Prowess): 15Pts

  • Adept Ability: III: Warrior’s Sprint
  • Run faster while wielding melee weapons.

I will only comment on my reasoning for putting 10pts in either Defense or Tactics because I feel it is the only thing that needs justification without previously having someone else critique it.

In PvP or PvE warriors need to tap into their survivability that naturally comes with being a melee heavy armor class. I feel that some of the higher level abilities don’t benefit as much as a little survivability increase. Again, feel free to give me opinions on this, I may just be out to lunch.

If you have any feedback, please quote a specific section and critique it specifically. As well, feel free to send me a private message instead of replying via post here. Thank you for your assistance!

Play a character for its play style and your play style compatibility and what you FEEL/WANT to play. If you pick a character based primarily on wanting to do lots of damage at the end game, your missing the point of the adventure. As well, in Guild Wars, the games is more about Utility. Doing lots of damage is fine and dandy, but if you dont have the individual surviability or the team abilities everyone including you will suffer.
You won’t be ableto support the group effort, no one will group you because you bring nothing to the group as a whole, and you will have a very boring experience on a game that is intended to be very versitile.

My opinion.

Do exotic items drop from mobs?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Jericho.4258

Jericho.4258

Have you ever looted a exotic item?
I’ve done some of the level 80 areas and haven’t seen a singel exotic drop yet. I’ve seen lots of yellow and green.

So I’m just wondering if you got any yet or is it even possible that random mobs in high level areas drops them?

Yes, you can get Exotics from mobs. But again, statistically your chances go way down the further away from common you get. Don’t depend on those drops to make money.
A higher Magic Find can suppliment the odds, but with Magic Find you have to go all or nothing or its not worth sacrificing the stats. In my opinion.

Therein lies the problem, your crafting skill will never be at the level you currently are. If you need to craft level 40 gear, then you need level 40 mats from level 40 zones, which you can’t enter until your level 40. By the time you’re done farming the mats to learn the recipies and make the gear for level 40, you’re level 50. So you never catch up till you’re at 80.

I agree with you, you will not necessarily catch up to your crafting skill. However, if you look at your gear progessively as you level, you are depending on drops to upgrade your gear. And drops are a random chance and dont always give you the stats you want. When I hit 80, I was rocking quite a few items that were between level 50-75, primarily because I prefered the power/precision stats as I leveled. I was a weaponsmith so my weapon was always up to date, but not my armor.
If you keep your crafting up to your level, you guarantee that:
1) Whatever trade you specialize in, those peices of gear will never be more than 3-10 levels behind you.
2) You can pick and choose your stats.
3) You can sell / salvage all the items you get.
4) You make a dent in how much time you will spend on it later. All in all you will spend the same amount oftime going from 0-400. But you will spread it out so its enjoyable and not a grind.
5) You get a TON TON TON of experience with the discovery system. I level 4 levels in the 70-80 bracket of my leveling on Weaponsmithing alone.

The list could go on.

I don't know where to ask this: Does Magic Find Stack?

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: Jericho.4258

Jericho.4258

i dont see why anything would have caps…especially magic find…

and just to clear it out abit how magic find works.

it stacks just like any other stat, not sure if there is cap or not. but its not -solid increase to the % it self". so if you got 50% magic find, and item has 2% drop, it does not mean its 52% drop, it means it increases this 2% chance, by 50%, thus making it 3% drop.

so your 100% drop would basicly mean double drop rate in this case

double drop rate is good still that clears things up ty

Having 100% Magic Find doesn’t mean you have 100% droprate, or that you will always get something.

If a creature you are killing/farming has a 2% chance to drop rate on any item, say for example, a Vial of Potent Blood; 100% Magic Find means that you now have 100% higher chance to get a drop. Which 100% on 2% makes a 4% chance to get a Vial of Potent Blood.

All your doing is increase the percent drop rate of what a creatures loot table is by the percent you have.

There is no doubles, it just means if you and I are farming and you have 100% Magic Find and I have none, you are, statistically going to get twice as much as me.

So, in Lion’s Arch, beside the Mystic Forge, there is a Merchant (the merchant does not have an icon identifying her as a merchant) that I, just today, sells components to make Legendary items. The cost of these components in Skill Point, 200 to be exact.

My question is, I spent all my excess Skill Points I had accumulated, unlocking all my skills. Does anyone know if there are enough skill points left in game / or if there are any alternative ways of getting more skill points that can alleviate my new found shortfall?

If I had know about this I wouldn’t have spent my Skill Points. But I wasn’t looking to craft till I was level 80, and I didn’t think they would have an alternative use for skill points. That coupled with the issue that the Merchant is not identified as a merchant by any other way but randomly talking to her.

Anyone have any answers? They would be greatly appreciated! Not afraid to do the work, I just need someone to steer me in the right direction.
