+1 to that, being able to buy and sell in quantities higher than 250 would save a lot of time.
A really good “living world” feature in Guild Wars 2 would be the events happening in the world affecting the trading post, for example, when the refugees all came to town in the Frost & Flame story, there should have been a shortage of some food supply, for example bread or grain, which would then make the NPC traders have less or no supply. This would then mean prices for items that are normally a few copper pieces on the trading post could go up in price. There are lots of other possibilities, seasonal items (no strawberries in Winter for example) or other affects due to events that happen in the world.
This would make the economy even more “alive” and would make trading a lot more interesting than it is, especially for someone that got lucky and happened to have a load of bread dough saved up etc.
In the beta there were some big events that got everyone involved, like the one where everyone got turned into Branded players etc., or the Hunger Games Asura event. A bit more of that would be nice, and RANDOM so its not swamped by everyone on the server turning up at once.
From what I have read on the blog, ArenaNet are working on making the living world more dynamic, including working on making the dragons have a chance to actually WIN – and that affecting the map for a while.
The reason 80’s don’t go to lower level regions has nothing to do with challenge or lack there of. It’s old content, they’ve already been through it and there is little to no reward for doing it. Sure it’s an easy way to get some blue gear that they have no use for but that’s about it.
That sounds like you have been playing another game. Guild Wars 2 was sold, at least partly, on the fact that zones never became obsolete and you could play with your low level friends on an equal footing because of the dynamic level scaling. Maybe because the zones and events are now to easy you don’t go to those zones anymore, but I go to all the different zones to do events, and while it is sometimes fun to slaughter loads of enemies without any chance of being hurt, I would prefer to not be able to revive someone with 5 ice brood hounds attacking me and barely scratching me.
Back on point, dynamic levelling is “broken” because once you are in level 80 exotic gear pretty much everything below level 60 is easy to kill, there is no challenge and as someone said earlier on, level 80s in low level zones make the group events unchallenging and they take most of the kills because they are dropping monsters faster than the low level players can even hit them.
The changes in the patch on the 28th are not enough in my opinion, though at least it is a step in the right direction.
I like this change, everyone being able to run back in during a boss fight negates any difficulty on the boss in a lot of cases and it just turns into a dps race alongside a race to make sure there is at least one person still alive before someone runs back into the fight.
Any change that increases team work and tactics is good, remember a lot of players are still not even working together on combo-fields etc. so changes like this will encourage people to co-ordinate and stand withing those combo fields instead of being scattered around the room.
EDIT: Also a lot of professions have abilities that will instantly revive a downed player, they don’t get used often, this will mean those skills get put on the action bars and used.

I don’t mind excessive mail warning when I excessively mail, but sometimes I get it after sending one mail, and have to wait over a minute before I can send another one. Most aggravating when I have to full bags or I am transferring goods to an alt (via a guild mate etc.).
Standard monsters/enemies definitely should be “knockoffable” on ledges and cliffs, with the requisite fall damage. Loot is not important, its fun knocking things off cliffs!
If the creature gets stuck, give it a time-out and teleport it back up to its spawning point if the fall & any condition damage didn’t finish them off.
Throwing my support behind this again, Linux should be the way forward if more games companies follow Valves example and start making Linux clients for their games.

Exactly my point, the gear should be scaling down as well, to increase difficulty.
@Kozai – Nice as that would be, it would over-complicate the game and add a complete new dimension to the concept of dynamic levelling. It would also make levelling up obsolete (almost) if you could just go to higher level areas and automatically be toughened up.
If it’s easier to kill monsters, then there is no challenge, which is probably more of a reason to not go to a low level zone, in my opinion. Keeping the zones difficult even at higher level makes the areas have a longer “shelf-life” than making them easy mode zones.
The dynamic level adjusting of Guild Wars 2 is a fine idea, but at the moment it just doesn’t scale down enough, so that well geared level 80s can easily farm low level areas without any danger of death.
I would rather the game properly scales down all of your abilities, higher level ones too, so that you are still tough but 3-4 mobs at once will cause you some problems and are not one-shot kills, which at the moment they are.
Re-vamped website, faster forums, better events management.
Very good guide, ignore the negative troll posts.
Typically of almost every MMO forum, something is causing the end of the world as we know it.
I am making enough gold to get by with, the trading post makes me plenty of gold, its just got to be used the way it was intended, its not an auction house.
If you see bots, report them. Alternatively, if you are a mesmer or know a mesmer, get them to come along and teleport them somewhere they are useless. The other day in Frostgorge there was a big bunch of bots on a hill overlooking a charr camp. A mesmer came along and teleported the bots down behind a tent, rendering them useless. The bots continued to auto-attack thin air for the next 10 minutes that I saw and probably kept at it all day.
ArenaNet are doing something about bots, just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean they are not.
I made a thread about all the dragon fights needing a revamp here – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/events/Dragon-Fights-Need-Changing
@Leto, I disagree with you, and this thread is not here to start saying the game is lame etc. Its a good game, better than any other MMO available at the moment. To quote Mr Gump “that’s all I have to say about that”.
@Torvarren – I hope you are correct, I enjoy the game but these dragons really need to be able to stomp 100+ players if all they are doing is zerging.
The dragons should be Dynamic Events with consequences for failure, on a grander scale than the normal events that occur around the world.
The current dragon fights, while epic and awesome are in some serious need of an overhaul.
When fighting dragons, a lot of the time everyone just zergs the dragon, ignoring the cannons, ice elementals etc. It should be a requirement of the fight to make sure those cannons are used on Tequatls bones wall, Jormags elementals should destroy cannons if left alone, Shatterers prisons should kill trapped players etc.
If they are not used/defended/utilised, the dragons and their minions should win the fight and defeat all the players in the area, and take over the zone like in a failed dynamic event chain.
At the moment they are a win/win situation, you dont even need to really do much to get a gold reward, and can ignore all the mechanics.
I want those fights to be an epic challenge every time, not just a zerg fest.
Quay is pronounced Key in English, American or any other language that uses the word Quay for where the boats come in.
Not the end of the world as we know it, but its bad.
Ridiculous is spelled ridiculous, it is not red!

Updated original post with current upgrades.
I have not farmed dungeons, so I don’t know what it was like before this patch, but I can say that I think the system for dungeons is flawed, and this has nothing to do with the difficulty of bosses and monsters, I like having to work out the new way of killing things (and surviving) in guild wars 2.
Rewards should be per boss kill, not at the end. With the way the dungeons work, if someone leaves (for whatever reason) the dungeon resets, that can be 2-3 hours lost.
If people are farming dungeons for gear tokens, then you can limit how many tokens they get after that initial run on a DR system, instead of making those of us that are not farming over and over having to suffer, especially with the current bugs in the game that can cause the dungeon to reset if someone leaves etc.
Example:
First run you get 20 tokens per boss
2nd run you get 10 tokens per boss
3rd you get 5 tokens per boss
4th+ you get none.
I don’t know what the cooldown should be but maybe allowing it to reset every 8 hours would be sufficient. If someone really has that much time to spend in the game, I dont think penalising them more than that is fair for their time invested.
There should also be something in each players UI Hero pane that tells them their cooldown.

I am getting this on Risen Grubs at Sparkfly Fen, and also on the Cursed Shore with grubs dropped by the risen giants.
All of the above +1, especially the guild message notification.
For 100g I think having the icon appear on the map is a a fair exhange.
Mounts in specific arenas for PVP might be a good idea. Being able to ride some of those huge Charr tanks, the helicopter etc., in certain instanced areas could be interesting.
Mounts to travel around the world, not at the moment, for all the reasons posted above me. I would never say never though, so maybe one day mounts could be added, as long as they don’t interfere with how the rest of the game works.
I have to agree, that the Zhaitan fight (and Arah story mode on the ships) was a big let down for me and my guild mates.
The camera on the ships is a nightmare, you are outside and are viewing indoors or under the ship. You also can’t see the fireworks at the end, because you have to zoom right into your character to look up without seeing the black floorboards of the vessel.
The inability to target the dragons with the cannons until they are already spewing zombies onto the ship.
The double cut-scenes of Zhaitan flying around and attacking the ship need sorting out, its confusing going from one scene then back to the game and then cutting to another scene.
Zhaitan was very disappointing. You don’t get a sense that you are responsible for that cannon blasting holes in the dragon, its all automated and no player interaction is required. The final part blasting him on the tower, also feels like a scripted event. The cannons with 3 fixed positions mean you are never sure if you are actually hitting anything unless you get the cannon opposite Zhaitan.
I think it needs a re-write, or some very serious tweaking to make it feel like the end boss.
When doing WvWvW, I (guild master) cannot claim forts etc., the NPC says my guild has not given me rights to do so. If I check the guild rank setup, I get booted from the game back to the character selection screen.
When trying to sell items, I see offers to buy it for less than vendor price. Aside from the fact that it’s just plain silly, if an item cannot be sold or less than vendor value why can someone put in an offer for less than or equal to vendor price in the first place.
I have tried to put in an offer for the same price as the vendor buys it, and there is nothing prohibiting me from doing so (50 copper ore for 50 copper).
Definitely a bug then.

Out 3 times now, keeps dropping me.
I think it would be a very shrewd move by ArenaNet to make a Linux client for Guild Wars 2, especially with the recent Windows 8 saga.
Given the choice I would never even use Windows, but as a gameplayer I have to. If Guild Wars 2 was available for Linux, I would be able to shred my windows partition!!
Finishing Move? Unless you have support most of the time you are going to die in PvP anyway when you are downed.
I usually get my five events in less than an hour, wandering around the world. I don’t see how you can be missing them.
Black Lion Trading Post – you have a huge customer base (world wide) and no need to spend time finding a buyer, just bung it up on the Trading Post (press O) and away you go.
Hey everyone,
Thanks for the feedback! While there hasn’t been an “official” post on this subject until now, I want to assure you all that we are taking your thoughts and concerns into consideration. As one of the previous poster’s noted, we are currently spreading our resources among a large number of issues (account security, game security, etc.) and working towards a point where we can improve the camera functionality.
In the meantime, if you have suggestions or comments on ways we can improve the camera, please keep your feedback concise, constructive, and consolidated to this thread. While we may not reply to every comment, we’re constantly going through the forums and reading your suggestions.
Thanks again!

I disagree. Not found any vista that was hard to get to, once you worked out the right way to get up there. I like that we have to develop our spacial awareness for these jumping puzzles, and it adds a new interesting element to the game/genre.

Go Rin No Sho was formed with the intent of progressing to World of Warcrafts ‘End-Game’ raids about 6 months into The Burning Crusade.
The guild is named after the book Go Rin No Sho (A Book of Five Rings) written in 1645 by Miyamoto Musashi, said to be the greatest swordsman that ever lived, who was never defeated in any duel from the age of 12 until he died in his sixties! This is his book of strategy. I read & studied this book a long time ago, and it struck me as a good name for a guild. We wanted to move forwards in this game and see the ‘end-game’ content, and that will take some strategy and intent.
For those of you who want to learn more about Go Rin No Sho the book:
Wikipedia Reference: Wikipedia: The Book of Five Rings.
Go Rin No Sho will be partaking in PvE, PvP and WvWvW in Guild Wars 2, and will schedule sessions ahead of time on our Calendar/Events Manager for members to sign up.
Code of Conduct:
Remember, any time you’re interacting with other players, you are a representative of the guild. Please behave how you would want our guild remembered. We want this guild to be seen as a home for good, helpful, active players, and to establish a reputation as a quality guild for other players to join.
Forums, Community & VOIP
All important news about the guild is posted on the guild forum, so you should to visit them regularly. We also have a ‘facebook’ like Community section, with events, status updates, videos and other information. In addition we have a ventrilo server for our guild members to use 24/7.
No Drama
We have a strict policy about people causing drama in game, on our forums or anywhere else associated with our guild. Anyone who whines, flames, begs, causes any tension or offense or brings the good name of Go Rin No Sho into disrepute will be warned and if serious enough removed from the guild. We all enjoy having a laugh but there are limits to what is acceptable. Think before you speak or make a post and use common sense.

I have lost money, or at least not receive it in my pickup box after it sold.
I am certain these forums are being monitored and lots of people are working on any issues they can address. We do not need a reply for every post to know that. Wouldn’t everyone prefer that the team works on the game than spending time reply to posts on the forums?
Nice post, I agree with most of it, especially FOV, which on a PC game should never be an issue. The camera control when doing indoor jumping puzzle (Lions Arch water tunnel plank for example) is also important.
My guild, which is just me and a friend, completed the Politics I and Guild Emblem Template jobs, but when I went to make a guild emblem, it never appeared in the guild window. I hit both apply and ok, and changed it a couple times to see if it would show up, but instead of the default emblem, there is just a blank, transparent space.
Same for us, the guild emblem works on weapon preview, but there is a blank picture for the normal preview and no emblem on the guild page.
