Honestly I would make the adrenaline gain baseline (maybe weaken it a bit, idk) and only make the condition removal when using a burst skill a trait. It feels more natural to me that a warrior would gain adrenaline on hit and when he gets hit. Never understood why they didn’t do so from the start and I don’t even play warrior that often.

Mesmers and thieves need the ports for survivability. This patch would break the professions in tpvp, because they don’t have enough sustain to make up for it.
Besides, the ports are what distinguishes GW2 from other games imo. It’s so much fun to jump around the map and such a patch would ruin the game for me.

What’s up I’m Thai Ju, Mesmer from HiT.
We are a full german speaking team and are looking for 2 more German members who know their class mechanics and the basics of PvP. We reached top 8 in the recent ToG but couldn’t compete because our team currently only consists of 3 core members.

Our setup is:
- Guardian (Guardian Trololol)
- Elementalist (Angel Chaos)
- Mesmer (me)

What we are looking for:
- D/P thief (Panic Strike or Critical Strikes)
- D/D celestial ele OR celestial rifle engi OR warrior (hambow or hornbow)

As I said, you should know the basics (maps, timers, kiting spots, etc.) and also have the will to improve yourself. We’d be glad to help you in terms of communication/rotations if you show potential.

True. I did some 1v1s versus different thieves on my mesmer and they do seem to fail steal a lot – Up to the extent where it’s actually broken. This started to happen with the last patch.

We are a full german team which recently started playing competitively and therefore our goal is to compete with the top tier teams on an even ground.
Since our warrior only plays with us until the end of ToL2, we are looking for an experienced and skilled hambow warrior to fill that spot.

Enabling Downed Penalty in PvP

Hey, what’s up!
I believe since launch of GW2 there have been players, who want the removal of the Downed State in sPvP, debating with players, who want to keep it.
As for me, I want to keep it – but that’s not the subject right here.

So I thought to myself: “Why not cater to both parties?”

Enabling the Downed Penalty from PvE in PvP (without damaging armor) might ensure this.
If you are a PvP-only player, you’re probably asking yourself: “How does this penalty work?”
In PvE when you rally from the Downed State, you receive a penalty which comes with three stages (yellow, orange, red). If you drop again within a certain period of time, you enter the next stage and so on. The difference is, that you will have less hp in Downed State each time you down within that time frame, eventually leading to the red stage. In this last stage you won’t enter Downed State though. If you are in the third stage and your health reaches zero, you will just straight up die.

But why should this be in PvP? The answer is short: Stopping the rally race.
In some big fights, players will down and rally, down and rally, down and rally, down and… well you get the point. The fight won’t be moving anywhere. The penalty would put an end to this without nerfing the rallies in small skirmishes. On top of this, it is a sort of encouragement for players to better their positioning in team fights.
Of course it should be altered to some extent and like in PvE, the penalty will fade away over time. Let’s say, one stage every 20 sec while being out of combat? Within one minute you would get rid of the whole penalty and be up and ready to down again in the next battle.
While enabling instant deaths at some point, the Downed State will still be there to counter the unpredictable 100 to 0 stealth bursts (still giving the pressuring party some sort of advantage).

Now it’s up to you. Would you like to see this penalty in PvP? I know this is just a quick draft but I’m sure it would lighten up some fights.

TL;DR
Enabling the Downed Penalty from PvE in sPvP to adjust the existing Downed State in its partially stale form.

I’m with you Flumek. Don’t want the dragon rank yet. It’s just an insult to those who played legit for their ranks.
I like the idea of doing tourny’s for special finishers. They could introduce a special PvP reward track for this, rewarding a finisher at the end you could only get by winning tourny’s.

When watching the Ready Up today, I noticed that the white PvP weapons had stats. Is this for making up for the loss of jewels or did I just notice nothing special?
It would be a nice add-on though, considering that Amuletts only don’t give great diversity in stat combinations in PvP.

I didn’t really get the part with the reward tracks. Do PvP-players now have to do PvE to get PvP rewards? Or do we get dungeon rewards for doing PvP?
The general idea of getting PvE-players into PvP by merging rewards is a good thing imo.

Adjusting the ranks is understandable but r5X upwards becoming 80? This is not alright.
I’m myself r6X but I don’t want the dragon just yet. Don’t feel I deserve it yet. If they would do 70 becoming 80. Okay. I would agree with it, but not 5X. This is just a gift to all skyhammer farmers. Personally I would gladly go back to the old system and fight my way through to r80 rather than getting it handed to me just like that.

Justin, I’m one of those all-game-mode players you are referring to.
And as one of them my suggestion is: Don’t let players have to unlock skills in PvP.
When entering PvP I’m glad that I can just make a build and I’m all ready to go. Furthermore players should be able to freely decide whether they want to play a more complicated build or get an easy one – Even when they are new players. Having to unlock skills just decreases build diversity (in terms of access to builds) and creates frustration amongst PvP’ers. At least that’s how I feel about it. And on another note – It’s a turn back on Anets philosophy and promise to the players as well.

Lags in PvP since Friday

Since Friday, March 14th I’ve been having lags in the Heart of the Mists, Solo Arena, Hot Join and Team Arena – in all of PvP. Don’t have them in any other part of the game.
I’m not the only one – talked to guild members and some have heavy lags like I do and some don’t.

What is the reason for this and when will it be fixed?

Besides the vigor nerf (which I can kinda live with), I would like to have clarification regarding DE.
As of Jan 21st, when does your number of clones count as 3?
Is it, when you actually have 3 illusions out and all are attacking or just standing somewhere?
Is it, when you have 3 clones out, and all are attacking or just standing somewhere?
Is it, when you got 3 phantasms up and all are attacking or just standing somewhere?

The 3 cases above are pretty similar to each other, but it still needs some form of clarification. Nonetheless, what I really care about is the latter:
Do already shattered clones, which didn’t hit the target yet, count as dead?
Because currently they do. Will Anet change this with the upcoming patch? If yes, this would hurt even more then the DE nerf already does.
I main a shatter mesmer and is vital for me to line up daze and shatter chains for decent CC+burst or Cry of frustration 3 clones do strip stability and then dodge for a daze while those CoF clones didn’t hit yet.
This would seriously hurt shatter mesmer gameplay. Hopefully Anet keeps this as it is.

I need Anet to remove the 25 skill cost!!!!!!

Yeah, using tomes of knowledge and birthday gifts do give you quick skill points – the thing is a lot of pvp’ers only have 5 slots and delete 1 or 2 chars on a regular basis to try out different professions, thus not seeing any birthday gifts. Furthermore some have more than one character of a profession because of the lack of templates (like myself) and we need to buy these 25 Skill Points for every single one of those characters. That’s just too much.
Despite needing to buy at least 3 additional character slots, it is against the original mentality of GW2 PvP. Everyone was supposed to be on equal footing when entering the mists. This was a given up until Dec 10th and it was a great feature to have.
Now you need to pay to be competitive – I know that’s not the case right now, but this is where this kind of thing is heading.

Skill Lag - Moves don't go off

Yeah, I’ve noticed this aswell. Despite some general lags, I occasionally get skill lags even while everything else is working fine.
For mesmer, I noticed this on chaos storm from staff and the 2 and 4 from greatsword aswell. I started to get theses skill lags (and other lags aswell) after the dec 10th patch.

As a player who did PvE in the past and almost completely switched to PvP, I don’t like all of the updates.
Ladder: I like the ideas of Ladders. This way we can get closer to real PvP and have more competition. Hopefully some teams will return once this update hits.
Currency: Being able to aquire Gold in PvP is not a good thing in my opinion. This will encourage PvE Farmers to come to PvP and this is the last thing I want to see.
Removing Glory is good, because it is acquired to easy, but I would like to see a different PvP only currency. There are players who do PvP only, and they don’t care about gold and pve experience at all – they should not be forced to do PvE.
Skills: This is the most awful idea you had so far, Anet. If new skills are implented in the game, they should be unlocked in PvP from the start. GW2’s mentality in PvP would be stepped on if this were to happen. All players should be equal in PvP, regardless for how long they have played PvP.
Ranks: Do not remove ranks. Some of us have played PvP for a long time and acquired r50+ with tournaments only. I was so proud when I finally reached bear rank after 9 months of PvP. Those ranks still have value for us. Don’t remove the only lasting thing in PvP, as someone has already mentioned in this topic.

Lastly, I have to agree to Acandis when I say: Take care of the stuff that needs taking care of first. Such as:
- Adressing the issue with Afk’s in SoloQue
- Removing Skyhammer (and maybe Spiritwatch) from SoloQue
- General Balancing. (I would also like underwater combat to be balanced (such as stomping under water), but I see that’s not the top priority right now.)

The time to say no to a level cap increase?

As a former GW1 player I really do hope they won’t increase the level cap. I’ve played various MMO’s before but I quit them all due to excessive gear grinding because they constantly increased the level cap. This is what I loved GW1 for. They never increased the level cap – 20 levels, that’s it and I played it for years.
Dear Anet, please introduce a GW2 Hard Mode like the one in GW1 for all maps, dungeons or add more difficult content but please never increase the level cap.
