The only reason GvG is even a thing is because ANet has not incentivized defending sitting on an AC waiting is not fun, which has lead to massive numbers of people pounding undefended doors as the meta, the siege masteries have made this worse by making it easier to crack open walls. People who GvG like fighting people, unfortunately ANet decided the anti-zerg was siege, and now zergs just avoid anything with siege running circles pounding random roamers into the ground. The only time I ever get a fun fight is with my guild flanking the rare zerg v zerg and even that can go bad if our commander decides he’s losing & starts running. People like winning & nabbing bags, so why defend anything? There’s no significant reward for the player or the server for that matter, both can get more loot & PPT pounding undefended doors. And that’s why people like GvGs because they’re good fights. In a perfect WvW the players would split up to take & hold objectives, but there’s no incentive to hold anything anymore.

You know what’s funny is a segment of us didn’t push CD this match up, because we didn’t want them to quit the map entirely unfortunately many didn’t get the memo or just didn’t care because they were bored & wanted to PvDoor. We’re sorry about your rotten luck CD, good luck in your next match up personally I’d kill for some good fights personally.

I’m really tired of all these “skill challenges” which seem to focus on dpsing everything down as fast as possible, and dodge rolling. Spam all the buttons! Dodge! Some real complex gameplay you got there…

1. I no longer want to be obstructed from ranged attack by a 1 ft. high lip on the wall which does absolutely nothing to give me cover from enemy ranged or prevent me from getting pulled off said wall into seas of enemies.
2. Fix cheese spot siege placement where only 1 side can hit the other due to placement.
Example: catapults on vista in Eternal Battlegrounds.
3. Make siege weaponry unbound, not being able to send siege in the mail is awful & makes no sense. I can throw it on the ground & let others pick it up, but I can’t mail it to them to ensure nobody steals it why anet? why?
Get these things I’d be happy as a clam

I was having a discussion the other day with my guild leader the other day about zerging. He had a very profound idea, to stop zerging what we should do is change it so that resurrecting dead players can’t happen unless you’re out of combat. The problem with a zerg is you can wipe 90% of a large group & they’ll just chain res pop right back up. My guild likes to run about 10-20 men strong and use an organized structure to go take small objectives, but I also feel the change would be helpful to the zerg as well since I don’t know how many times I’ve seen tons of players wipe trying to res one dead guy, it would put more emphasis on getting downs up and people would ignore dead guys and fight until they could get out of combat.

I just fought Kohler last night & I think he has actually taken a nerf at some point, because he didn’t seem as hard as he was the last time I tried him. Then again it’s possible that they’ve just changed the order of abilities in his AI script. I got pulled a few times, but he didn’t insta-KO me like he used to. Watching him fight the cave troll is kinda awesome though, it’s like Godzilla vs Rodan or something.

I played this dungeon before the changes & I liked it now I find it intolerable. Sure the burrows were kinda challenging, but it was fun. Since it was changed I’ve never had a party get through the spiders without getting downed, they went from insanely underpowered one shot mobs with a big easy to tank boss to stacking exponential poison dps.
Now Kohler is so powerful everyone skips him, that to me is the first clear indication the dungeon is broken, when people agree a boss mob is not worth their time. And then we have colossus rumblus, a knockback immediately followed by an insta-KO AOE! And the only thing you have to protect you is a stupid flimsy npc that doesn’t even heal himself yet throws himself headlong at the boss. ANET really shouldn’t do this & especially with them not implementing holy trinity so we can keep these npcs alive.
Then we have the ghost eater with this super gimmicky two man ghostbuster gun job, who can only be vulnerabled by these gimmicky charge ups, and he has regen. as well. I don’t enjoy the gimmicky world weapons, and having one with 2-man co-ordination on a boss fight is just too much for the first dungeon ever experienced by players.
Lastly, why is it that every graveling seems to have a knockdown now? That’s patently unfair when a player has maybe 2-3 counter abilities and dodge to face off against as many as 30 of the things at a time.

The OP is forgetting that kiting in circles is pretty much the only tactic you need. I think that the bosses lack variety, I mean every boss is either a high hp zero dps waste of my time or a one shotting kite for your life type mob, or a bugged gimmick mob. Although it sounds like the OP wants more of #3 to which I say when was the last time you PUG’d AC P2? It’s got what you’re looking for environmental weapons, requires teamwork, and the boss has invuln with stages of vulnerability why is no one doing it? Because it’s buggy, and complex yet rewards the same as P1 or P3. The problem imo is ANet’s no holy trinity stance has really taken melee out of the dungeon equation, all the bosses are unmercifully harsh to melee without the ability to spec support & actually heal decently it ends up everyone just grabs a ranged weapon to kite, and dodge roll for their lives because it’s easier. Now I’m not saying standing there healing & tanking a boss is any harder than kiting I’m just saying I’d like the option to do so.
I also think it would be funny and deliciously evil if ANet made a boss that has a kittenedly high damage basic ranged attack and a bad melee attack just to confuse all the ranged kiting lovers on how to beat him.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
Oh right the circles, silly me just standing in them! Except some times they bug & don’t show up Sovta, or what about the ones that anet didn’t fix which are bigger than the red circle. Some times there’s lag, and finally the mob melee high dps shots don’t get warning circles, nobody is perfect about not getting downed. I honestly think every class should just get 4 downed skills, a ranged basic, a move, a class specific, and the #4 bandage. Sometimes, ya get downed it happens, what doesn’t need to happen is that guy laying next to the boss getting KO’d cuz he can’t move.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
Kiting with ranged, and stand near the edges so when he does his big finishers he knocks you into the water below then you just get a free revive, run back up & kite some more. At least that’s the only way I’ve done it since the changes to AC & even then it took an hour really not worth it for just the crappy chest & a bit of karma & gold.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
I agree, there should be no stigma for being downed. I hate that the downed state is completely worthless in many cases. For example you get downed by a boss with a high damage aoe you’re hosed because you can’t move out of his aoe with many classes in downed state & to add insult to injury some bosses have aoes that can take you straight from full health to not just downed but dead.

For every Dolyak that gets escorted a skritt bottle lobber gets his wings.

Go team Dolyak! Long live Fluffyhooves! Long live Colonel Yakington!

Hats off to KH of CD. They are a wrecking ball when they start moving. Crashed to us a few times.
Thanks, we’ve had some great fights on TCBL tonight, thanks for the fights PINK especially. I feel good about facing off against TC, I think a lot of us were mad that FA decided to focus our BL initially. Honestly we’re surprised we’re 2nd in points since we haven’t had the luxury of keeping our BL keeps locked down like everyone else.
Thanks for being classy guys also, we had the Z-word hurled all over us last week so it’s nice having someone recognize our guys by name.

whats the point of even having a jumping puzzle.
I ask this every time I do a JP, but then again I do ANYTHING for arrow carts…
Just imagine what I’d do for Superior Trebuchets.

Thieves, ANET made a huge error when they didn’t give at least one class a detect stealth skill to counter them. Seriously a thief being able to hold a camp against 20 people is ridiculous.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
Good fights, we bought 3 golems and got a keep, and 2 towers. I think we got a good deal tonight. Now it’s up to the day-time crew.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
lets see, you joined magurma months ago, as a GOON. then switched to CD the first time mag faced them and got destroyed. then you make a LF guild post asking to join a CD guild.
what server you hopping to after CD gets kitten kitten in T3?
LOL! You obviously think I’m trash if you think I was in Goon Squad. I was on Maguma during Maguuma v DB v DH. Your continued insistence on my fair-weather playing is quite amusing like it’s some kind of insult to not be SERIUS BIZNESS about this game.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
I’d recommend Darkhaven, they seem to have a dedication to WvW, and are populated with some good guilds for you to co-ordinate with. However I will say don’t be afraid to move out of the box, you guys could be a game changer for a EU server lacking NA prime time coverage.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
LOL even numbers? you must be on drugs, anyone on at this time talking about even number is high. we have less then 30 atm, maybe 23ish. You guys are fielding out 60+players easy, Any CD who fails to acknowledge they had numbers at night is clearly overbiased with egos too high for this forum. I’m sorry to say that i’m just farming you for badges and lvls on my alt because i can’t take your night crew seriously, like cmon
And now the CD zerg is 60+ keep throwing out bigger numbers to explain why you’re losing. In that “proof” of zerg screenshot all I see is a well organized 20 man, note how all the tags are KH? Coincidence right? Also note the golem he has targeted, that’s me busting in their tower like the Kool-Aid man, “OH YEAH!”
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
Sorry to burst your bubble exits but there hasn’t been a queue for Maguuma’s BL, I know that because I’ve been running supply from our BL for a good 2 hours now.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
haha talking trash when it’s like 50 to 10. I hope you guys get to tier 3 so you can get your butts handed to you every day.
We didn’t start the flame war, peeps were hatin’ on us before I left my comment.

1 AM AZ time. this is just to take a tower. The zerg was bad too. it was sad fighting them
That golem army was just used to take your keep. Keep tripping about how we’re zerg, you just lost a keep to 4 alpha golems.

Seeing as you are a fair-weather player, you never see that CD and EBay are always in our borderlands together not because we are the softer target but because our forces are split. Even then you only occasionally take west keep. But still, how many times have you seen us hold that land and a large chunk of either EBay or CD? Tons. CD, as mentioned in this thread, still has q’s to both their and our borderlands during NA prime and we pop instantly. So your argument about NA presence being even isn’t really stacking up.
Yup you got me bro, fair-weather player is that the best ad hominem you got or are the mods that strict? I’ll give Maguma’s props they fight hard & they’re good defenders. That said I still think they have no room to talk about zerging, sure we have queues on the weekends with all the weekend warriors, but so did Maguma’s when I was on their server the fact is we’re still outnumbered during the week in NA prime time.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
When losing transfer to the winning server*
Fixed this for you, in your case.
Totally bro, if you can’t beat ‘em join ’em! Yup everybody on the CD bandwagon toot! toot! I was told by my friends to start with them on CD, but couldn’t so I randomly picked Maguma’s instead needless to say I jumped your ship first time CD came open & don’t care what you think lol.
Same old song & dance, assume when someone says something about your server, they’re lying or have no ground. Cute. And you’re talking about two different times there, buddy. If you don’t think your oceanic presence isn’t a zerg compared to an NA presence (at that same time), then you’re a bad troll or really ignorant.
I don’t know what you’re trying to say here, yeah we have a good number of Oceanic players, but we are out-numbered by Maguma’s in NA Prime so really both sides zerg at different times and if you don’t like it go get some asians. My question is why doesn’t Maguma’s zerg do anything but defend when they outnumber us in prime-time?

This is just the same old song & dance I saw when I played Shadowbane. When winning claim inferior numbers, when losing claim enemy zergs, and if all else fails accuse enemy of cheating. I played on Maguuma before I transferred to CD & they have massive NA Prime time zerg in fact I’m betting the only reason we’ve made incursions to EB BL was because water takes the path of least resistance i.e. it was easier than fighting Maguma’s zerg. Last night there was a queue for CD on both their bl maps so I spent a quiet night leveling instead. CD is seriously outnumbered by Maguma in NA Prime-time, we can’t compete yet curiously enough all their zerg does is defend. I don’t think I’ve fought more than 20 of ‘em in the field but their keeps & towers are always chalk full of defenders. I feel bad for EBay, My guild was going to leave you alone but we started taking Maguma BL towers & there’d be 50+ guys defending a bloody tower we packed it in & decided to hit EB & EBay BL instead. & got plenty of fun fights with you guys there. Thanks for the fun fights EBay.
Honestly, call us zerg all you like as long as it helps you sleep at night, while our Oceanic crew is all up in your base doing your keep lord.

I was one of the six golems that went in. I remember you looked pretty surprised when we broke in the front door like the Kool-Aid man going “Oh yeah!” It was a good fight, you guys held on tooth & nail all evening. We originally planned to keep the pugs up north on trebs & rush south with the golems, but then the pugs moved south for whatever reason after the trebs snapped & we moved the golems North. It was honestly very close when our golems broke down on inner door at 25% we desperately built a pair of catapults and barely got in. Good fights all around though.

Hey there, I’m looking for an organized WvW guild to join. Looking for guilds that use voice chat & play NA Prime time or late night.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
It’s been a good fight so far, I’m a maguuma goon, and it seems like anywhere I go there’s at least 5-10 darkhaven, you guys are really taking the fight to us.
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
I’m all for swords, in my opinion they’re a lure for casual wvw players to show them where the fight’s going to be fun. When we go into WvW we want to kill people, not just knock over NPC-defended objectives in a score match. I think the presence of swords is a luxury that makes the fights more engaging it’s a big “come fight me!” sign which is what casual pvpers want. Leave the tactics to the dedicated guilds, they can decide when to feint orange swords or push objectives. Otherwise I think we’ll see less open field battles & more boring guard duty. I think that people want orange swords gone so they can ninja cap during prime-time and move their server up the ladder without a fight. At the end of the day if you can’t fight the zerg and win why do you deserve to out-rank them?
Kwisatz Haderach – For the Toast!
I have to shake my head at this, the same problem happens in Star Trek Online. I thought this was MMO mechanics 101 when you log-out / end program character should persist in world. Hell Shadowbane had that feature back in 2004 if you logged out your character stayed in world for 60 seconds.
