“Holy hell, did that thing already die?”-Al
“Dude, wait like 5 seconds before you start attacking please”-Iri
“Here lies a Greatsword and what seems to be a plant like hand still clutching the hilt”
You started 2 topics with the same thing being talked about in both of them within minutes of each other? the only exception is that you’re calling it a ‘fart’ here and calling it ‘pig-pen’ there. >_>
I both agree and disagree here with you RollingBob, we need some things about our class to be fixed but we don’t need any serious buffs or debuffs, warriors are just as fragile as any class in this game, depending on how you spec your traits and what build you’re running. I personally run a high end crit build with a tad of hp tacked on to help with high lvl dungeon survival.
Don’t touch this class. +1
Having fun:
Pure evil, full of sin! Greatsword or go home! LONG LIVE THE GSW’S!!!
Being serious:
Your second build is better imo for sword/shield combo, take Aurodus’ build into consideration as well. Both are good, his provides those additional 2 trait attributes though.
There is no need to ‘rework’ a perfect skill and I quote you:
as long someone has a stun breaker or knows how to jump away, interrupt or simply dodge HB,the ability loses it’s effectiveness quite badly, making impossible to land the full combo even with frenzy .
Nuff said. Tired of seeing these threads.

FoF near melee then switch to melee weapons and continue attacking while they are burning? I don’t see a point in changing casting time tbh…learn to target and think ahead. Fighting is like chess, always be 1 step ahead of your opponent.
Two words, one mission: Steel Tide

Anet cant do it alone, report those players, take a screenshot, post it on the forums! We all have to work together to be able to banish them all and make them see that its not worth it!

I’d like to join up with you for great justice. Lvl 80 pro warrior willing to help where needed when I feel like it. I log in daily to do my daily achievement atleast, having an anime oriented guild would be great seeing as how I usually have it playing on my tv. Send me a mail in game for who I need to contact as I am currently out of state for Christmas. Ill join asap when I return.
Bought a bunch of Gift Boxes from the store with Gems the other day, and ended up getting duplicates of the minis…. anyone know if there is any use for duplicate ACCOUNT BOUND minis? Or did I just waste the money I spent on the Gems for those?
I really think they ought to NOT account bound these minis, so that people who get duplicates can at least sell, trade, or gift them (since we paid for them to begin with).
If you have 3 duplicates, you can use them in the forge to create a quaggin mini.
You mean he can forge them to ‘krait’ a quaggan mini.
In what mmo like GW2 has there ever not been a difference in, in combat speed and out of combat speed? Pop a speed skill and keep going!
The real problem here is not the run speed but the in combat mechanic. Just as you said:
I’m going along like a train and then all of the sudden, Joe is bashing a centaur archers face in and I get hit by a stray arrows, all of the sudden, i’m in combat, already40 feet from the centaur.
Change the WAY we go INTO combat.
Although this is, on the surface, a really good idea, it’s also a very bad one:
I just finish farming my ori nodes joins overflow oh look more ori nodes…
That and everything else that’s supposed to be a 1 time a day thing. Doing this could cause massive inflation and destabilize the economy even further than what the bots have done
I raise my hand because I want to celebrate each skill point I receive!
We do have treasure hunts in the game! There are hidden chests everywhere on every map! Also, there is a random skritt thief that gives you tons of loot if you kill him which is like a treasure hunt in itself!
This was done on GW1, and its exactly as you’re stating here. Each anniversary of character you made would get a present that held a consumable, a dye or a mini. I would love to see this implemented onto GW2 but we have a problem here….we wont know until the game is atleast a year old! We don’t even know if this actually exists or not and we won’t know until next year! Crossing my fingers here! +1
It’s not the size that matters, its the scale of the character vs the size of the sword! Sylvari and Asura warriors all the way!
As a Fiona, I almost never dodged once I got the tower shield, but thats not until lvl 25 or so. Evie has the ability to blink away making her terribly easy to play.
I recommend that everyone plays a Lann-mower to learn the art of the dodge.
Lt. Kholer is a great fight to learn to dodge in but people get freaked out seeing that he’s a legendary class mob and forget to look at animations.
Do you know how to sheath your weapon?(put it away)
Go into your options and then controls, scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list and find “show/stow weapon”, bind the key to anything you want(I use Z). Brandish your weapon for all to see!
There is also another really neat trick with this too, very annoying as well.
Tap 1 and your bound key repeatedly and very fast! (1z1z1z1z1z1z)
This will cause your character to start the animation(with sounds and special effects!) for attacking then put the weapon away. Its very fun and looks awesome with guardians/mesmers/elementalists!
I also personally feel that this helps to break combat in some situations to regain out of combat run speed but I have not truly tested it.
I’ve been frequent browser of many game forums and give feedback but this time i’m here to give advice!
I often see posts and play with players who constantly die, not because of the armor they wear, but because they don’t dodge properly. The concept is simple: Big sword coming to slice head, dodge away. Right? Not so simple for all.
Now this suggestion may be turning players to play another game but I feel that I personally would not be able to run a full crit damage set on my warrior and survive as much as I do without having previously played another game called Vindictus.
Dodging in Vindictus is CRITICAL, you CANNOT survive without dodging it is impossible to live in that game without being mobile.
I invite everyone to try Vindictus and play to atleast lvl 10(first major boss fight), if you learn to dodge there, dodging in this game will be a breeze! It is a F2P game so you have nothing to loose and GW2 is a far superior mmo to Vindictus.

Most classes also regen endurance very slowly, investing in endurance regen abilities, such as the stamina signet for warriors, will greatly increase your survival ability and increase the fun!
5 signets is a it much tbh, I personally run with stamina/precision/elite signets only.
I run a pure crit dmg build. All armor is berserker with Valkyrie gems. my earrings and amulet are Valkyrie with Valkyrie runes while my earrings are berserker with Valkyrie runes.
Stamina signet provides better dodge capabilities which is much needed in any setting of the game. Dodge > Toughness
The only thing I see going wrong with your build is that you have no ranged capabilities for when you get low on health, trying using a bow, it’s great for combo fields and extra damage while farming or in a group, you can also blind opponents to help with staying alive and pin them to break aggro and run if needed.
With the armor set I use, I have around 23k~ hp and I run through orr/arah/high level fractals with ease, the real trick is to keep moving even when on CC, run circles around your enemies so their auto attack cant hit you, dodge the big hits and switch to bow, blind → pin and gtfo when you’re in deep.
No tanky, dodgy and damage. You can choose to have 30k hp and be able to take a couple of hits but it still pales in comparison to the fact that a glass cannon warrior will kill things 300% faster than any defensible warrior.
In WvW, I mow down defensive warriors with ease, that should be proof enough that either 1. It’s pointless to be tanky. or 2. Those players just really suck.
Best name for a Sylvari that I have seen would have to be Leek Spinner.
How about no?
You’re basically asking to make warriors more powerful and be able to have an easier time in both PvE and PvP where we already have the easiest play style of any class.
We don’t need anymore blindness than what the Longbow offers, we are not a utility class first, we are damage.
Every skill you listed here is balanced and working properly yet you’re saying that pretty much every skill a warrior uses should blind an opponent to make it even more unfair. I don’t need blindness, I need big numbers, which I already have.
I will agree with you on one thing, the suggested change for Banner of Defense actually sounds viable. A defense banner should offer something more than run speed and a toughness boost. Actually adding a 4 second aoe protection boon would make the banner feel more like it is providing a true defense.
Err….we do have condition removal and you can make yourself have passive condition removal if you spec for horn.
Signet of Stamina passively gives better endurance regen and it’s active ability is to cure —ALL-- conditions on you.
If you spec down the healing and defense lines while using a horn, you can get conditions—>boon every time you use your horn which can be used every 5-10 seconds.
We have all the same abilities as every other class minus stealth and being able to get another full bar of hp on a whim. I think you need to change your weapons and spec to see the true power of the warrior.
Like a boss man. Like a boss.
Armor: Berserker set
Gems: All Valkyrie
Jewelry:
Amulet/Rings: Valkyrie
Gems: Valkyrie
Earrings: Berserker
Gems: Berserker
This mix of hp boosting gems and the amulet/rings being all valkyrie lands me at 24k hp while still pumping out 100% crit damage mixed with the signets passive ability to increase crit%. This is the best mix that I have personally seen. It’s not too far into a dps build where you die constantly due to low hp and it isn’t too deep into a tank build where you can’t pull big hits.
In most boss fights with a full hit on HB, I can pull 15-30k dmg and line that up with Whirlwind and land another 8-15k. The damage is absolutely insane but you’re still pretty much a paper tank.
I hardly die, even as a crit damage warrior. I run GS/Bow with 97% crit dmg. I utilize Signet of Stamina which cures all conditions when used and passivley allows me to dodge 2 times more than average.
I do have my armor setup with Valkyrie runes though, it allows me to have more hp and take a slightly larger hit than most crit dmg warriors. If things get hot in CC, i flip to my bow(which causes blindness when switching) and dodge out, attack from ranged and focus as much on pinning the enemy as possible so they can’t get close.
Though these are playing tactics it really boils down to this one thing:
I survive by killing the enemy first.
No harm in tryin’! I wish everyone best of luck, a Happy Halloween and a Merry Christmas!
