Dragon, Whispers of Acoma is a PvX guild on Crystal Desert that is always looking to recruit new members. Moving to our server wouldn’t be a requirement, but would mean you have access to current guild upgrades. We have about 35 members atm and they are from across the world, so there is usually someone online. Until guesting comes in we can offer you a place to chat with members and discuss the game and even do some dungeons runs if you are interested. Shout me up in game anytime
Whispers of Acoma will shortly be doing CoF runs. If you are interested in getting the dungeon armor related to Citadel of Flame then give us a shout. To facilitate the members that we have ready to start these runs now we will be doing runs during the week at approx 00:00 GMT (19:00 EST).
Hey Aggan, I would also like to throw my guilds name in the hat.
Whispers of Acoma was formed back in 2006 in Guild Wars for the purpose of casual social gaming. A lot of the original members drifted to other games, including WoW, EQII, Eve and more. But gradually some of them are coming back. We are looking for new blood all the time though. We are primarily casual, as in the requirements are 0, but we have hardcore players also. Like yourself I play when I can, having kids to raise means it can be as small as an hour a day, or as large as an all nighter.
While I am online I like to encourage guild groups, dungeon runs, WvW, PvP and pretty much anything else that people can think of (like one time with Crossing Tyria in GW1, sitting in Lava in the middle of a PvP match just for the giggles).
We are made up of international players, spanning America, Singapore, various European countries, with officers from different timezones, so there is usually someone online around the clock.
We reside on Crystal Desert, but have players on Darkhaven. Moving wouldn’t have to be an option for you. Shout me up ingame anytime for more information or even just to chat and hangout.
Regards,
Kayg

Banner Locations: Lion’s Arch primarily, but we also use Dungeon Entrances.
I think the idea of a Non Alliance group of guilds supporting and improving community is a great idea. We all have our Guilds and Alliances from GW1 or from others games dedicated to their own causes. This idea has merit and I hope it takes off.
Edit: Only thought of this after I logged into game. I am sure other guilds are doing this already, I know we have one it since 25th August, so I think if enough guilds do join up to FBM on any given server, maybe between the guilds they can organise who will drop what banners in what locations? So the aim hopefully is that there will be one of each banner in as many locations as possible, rather than having 200 banners in LA and no banners elsewhere. Or worse, all the banners are the same… I don’t think they stack do they?

Same issues, except I can’t gain influence. Can’t access the Guild Bank. Can’t see any members. Can’t invite new ones. Build queue gone, had stuff building. Upgrades gone. Boosts I had stored gone. It’s like I started all over again. It was like this for me for the first week of the game
Please don’t leave it this long again, not being in a guild ruins this game for me. Can’t even use friends list to speak to people (also block is not working and it seems suppression isn’t either. Gold spammers having a field day)
I leveled from 50-257 Jeweller very quickly at a cost of about 1g. Could have maybe spent a little less, if I had more lower tier gems to Transmogrify… But alas, I didn’t. Apparently Chef used to be real cheap, a few gold and some karma could get it 1-400 very quickly, not sure since the karma vendors update though. As for the rest of my Jeweller levels, not sure atm how much roughly it will cost, but not in a panic right now for it.
Ahh its actually in the FAQ on gems, they will have Gem Cards “in the future”. I suppose EU got the cards first.
Not Gamestop Ireland anyway… What game store did you get his from Skaan?
Thorax and Anathemawhite,
I know this isn’t really the right forum for guild recruitment, but you both seem like you could use a good guild in the game. One of the greatest benefits to a guild in any game, is the social aspect of it. Often times I have continued playing a game beyond a point where I enjoy it anymore, just for the guild or clan I am in. I hope that won’t happen with GW2 ofc but hey, in the meantime I hope to build my guild and surround myself with people who enjoy social gaming, with maybe some competitiveness (not compulsory at all), but definitely with a drive for exploration. I am always getting lost in maps because of chasing some metal node or following some path into a cave somewhere. (it’s by happy chance that I map some areas to 100% lol).
I will add you both ingame when I log in shortly and send you both mails so you get some contact from me, incase, like me, you only use forums once a day. But in the meantime if you want to check out our Guild forums feel free to drop by.
Our guild is on Crystal Desert, so for grouping atm, you would need to be on there, but I understand people wanting to stick to server they have chosen. You can be in the guild from any server, but ofc the best benefit is being on the same server, until guesting comes in anyway. But just because you are on a differnet server doesn’t mean you can’t benefit from having people to talk to (gchat and TS).
Hope you both find what you are looking for in the game and if the guild isn’t for you, I understand, but hey still give me a shout, I am always willing to help people.
Regards,
Kayg
Whispers of Acoma is still looking for players of all levels and all nationalities. We are gaining Influence at an increased pace and have Guild Boosts running regularly to benefit the Guild and Players alike. We are working towards the better Economy Boosts currently (longer gathering bonuses) and PvP boosts are next to follow.
We have players of differing levels so there is always someone in the area that you are exploring in willing to join you.
As always Teamspeak is up and running 24/7 and we welcome guests in our channels for PvP, exploration, WvW and so on.
Look forward to seeing you ingame.
Hey Crazedwolf,
Whispers of Acoma is a growing guild that hopes to field sPvP teams and WvW teams as soon as we can get enough players in. We currently have about 30 players with a small core of regular players. We have a dedicated PvP Officer that is looking to get tournaments running regularly.
Atm our WvW players just go their own, but we hope to get a fixed schedule of events times that suit more players. We do run regular PvE events, with dungeons being the main focus atm, which helps with progression, but we also enjoy helping on Personal Story and general exploration (mapping is an aim for a lot of us).
I know we don’t sound like the biggest and busiest, but all guilds start out small. So I hope maybe I have piqued your interest a little. You can shout us up in game, Kayg Hunter or Rossiter of Eidan, anytime.
Hey there.
Whispers of Acoma might be an ideal guild for you. We are a small casual PvX guild that is currently emphasizing on PvE and Dungeons. A few of us are looking towards endgame but are in no rush at all and are enjoying the content as we go.
We have 7 year vets from GW1 and some completely new players aswell. We are willing to help guide you in the game and if there is something we don’t know, we are aren’t afraid to admit it and go looking for the answer.
Check out our forums and maybe give us a shout ingame when you get a chance. (myself or Rossiter of Eidan)
Which ever guild you decide to join, I wish you the best in your GW2 experience
No he means the “Best type of Ranger”
…is a dead ranger
Recently appointed our first dedicated PvP Officer and looking to recruit dedicated PvPers. Feel free to check us out. Staying isn’t mandatory
Even with auto target off, which is a good idea (cos often my ranger and his pet will ignore the mob standing in front of him smashing his face with a hammer… ~.^ ) you still have to move to your target. There are some skills that let you “leap” to your target once you have them targeted, but for the most part you have to move to within melee range. (Unless you are using Rifle or Bow ofc).
That has probably been the hardest thing for me to get used to, after playing GW1 an EQII for years, but once you get used to it it is actually better.
Afaik, once you have Guild Emblem Template and design a Guild Emblem, then all your PvP armor (besides Heritage skins) gets the Emblem right away. I will have to look ingame and see the part in the Locker that holds a space for Guild Armor to see exactly what it is though. Will take a look when I log in shortly and edit post here if I have more information.
Consider getting the 6th point anyway, for the Medium Mask, looks good on Rangers. I also suggest playing GW1 when you can to get to 30 points which unlocks all HoM items. Great skins for some weapons, some unique pets for Rangers and some unique Mini Pets aswell. Also the last point gives Fire God Vambraces (Really nice skin for gloves).
It can take time to get to 30 points, but there are guilds still active in GW1 that concentrate on HoM points. So look out for them.
My first thought when you bought is ; what is your level? You need to be level 60 to add Superior Runes to your armor. Then maybe, this I am not sure about, is your gear too low level? Or not the right type (like, blue, green yellow armor etc).
Beyond that I am not sure sorry.

Quick Notes:
We are an international Guild with players from US, EU and Oceania. We are concentrating on Story and PvE mostly atm running the dungeons as the bulk of our players reach the appropriate levels. We hope to get active in WvW as our numbers grow.
Our Homeworld is Crystal Desert but if we get enough players on other servers to make it worth their while we will organise Officers on these worlds that can build Guild Upgrades there too.
You can add friends from EU servers. I am an EU player on US servers (for guild reasons) and I have added friends from EU that are on EU servers. I added them by using their account name, rather than character names. So just double check their account name (including the 4 digits) and see if it works. If not post again, maybe there is an issue.
On a side note, I love your writing style… When can we expect a sequel?
I don’t disagree with a gold sink, every game needs them to keep the economy fresh. The problem I have is that it is not noted anywhere. (officialy at least, afaik). If they just updated TP interface to reflect a “tax” that would be fine. Black Lion Trading Company has to make money afterall, so just reflect that ingame.
But I would like to see just one or the other.. Listing fee or Tax (preferably tax as I often deposit all cash before heading out, and then find an item I want to put up on TP and can’t ><)
I only downloaded about 30-40mb. Did you miss an update from a previous day?
There are no more for that weapon afaik.
If you want more skills, learn to carry two weapon sets. I make it a point on a new character to get one of each weapon type they can use and unlock them all early on in starting areas.
I then choose the two weapon sets that I prefer for that class an roll with those.
You get Utility Skills that you can change around and at level 30 you get access to Elite Skills. But as far as weapon skills go, the 5 or so you have are it.
Apparently during the BWEs they hadn’t decided on the exact amount of the “tax” to be in final game. It’s remained at 10%, thankfully, some ppl reckoned they experienced up to 30% tax. Several people, including myself, asked them during the last BWE to state somewhere, either in TP ingame, or on forums/website, what the exact purpose of the tax was. Just so we had it in writing and then couldn’t complain about it. No joy yet on that. Though several staff members did comment on it.
The only justification for it atm is that it is purely a gold sink, to take gold out of the game. It serves no other purpose.
15% overall tax is a bit steep imo. They should either charge a listing price, or a tax, not both.
Whispers of Acoma was founded back in 2006 on the principle of give (time) and receive (friendship++). We aimed to become a social guild that would allow for players from all over the world come together to enjoy the world of Tyria.
That principle has followed us to Guild Wars 2. Our aim in Guild Wars 2 is to enjoy as many aspects of the game as we can. We encourage grouping, not just within our own guild but with who ever you can find to group with. We strongly believe that the game is best played in a group. Yes you can solo this entire
game, hell we have even found ourselves soloing Champions, but where is the fun in that? I still remember the first time I fought and won against Glint back in 2005… We stood around taking screenshots and complimenting each other on a job well done, each of us a complete stranger before that mission.. The joy of doing that was in the group. I remember defeating Glint in Hardmode just a few months ago, for Guardian Title Track, which should have been an even bigger achievement, and thinking nothing of it ~ because it was with NPC Heroes.
We believe the community in Guild Wars 2 can rival that of Guild Wars 1 in its hayday. It just takes the right mind set and that starts with Guilds fostering that spirit.
To that end, this is what we offer;
- Friendly Guildmates (Warbandmates for the Charr among us)
- Dungeon runs ~ Including Story Modes (remember, you can do a dungeon with anyone on any world)
- PvE Exploration (not just 100% of each map, but searching each nook and cranny)
- PvP Events
- WvW Events
- Impromptu Events
- Teamspeak 3 Server for VoIP, for use any time*
- Forums for internal Guild chit chat ~ We know that people often play more than 1 game, use these forums to share your experiences with your Guildmates
- Helpful Leadership/Officers ~ the crux of any Guild, beyond its members, is a team of Leaders that understand the needs of its members. We promote helpfulness throughout our Guild, but even more so in our Officers.
- Shared resources ~ We don’t expect members to give up anything, but often times we have a few resources left over from a crafting session and we know we won’t need that chunk of Silver Ore again, so it goes to Guildmates first.
- Shared loot ~ Our Guild bank, small as it is atm, is a place to drop Green items you just don’t want to vendor but think someone might get use of.
And just about anything else a Guildmate might need, that doesn’t take advantage.
What we expect from our members;
- Accept Guild Invite
- Represent the Guild when you can/want
- Nothing else ~ it’s as simple as A B (don’t even need C) ~ You get out what you put in to a Guild. The more you represent Whispers of Acoma the more you get out of it.
Whispers of Acoma is currently based on Crystal Desert (US) as Homeworld, but we are recruiting across all Worlds. In those worlds where we get more players we will assign World Officers that can purchase upgrades and so forth.
Thats’s it in a nutshell. As the game develops we will adapt to cover any new aspects of the game. In the meantime we will continue to enjoy the game and promote social interaction to everyones benefit.
We look forward to seeing you ingame.
- We currently use Teamspeak as it is free to run for up to 32 clients. I run the server myself that I can be assured it is up 24/7 (bar allowing for my curious 2 yr old pulling at network cables >< ) We are open to running other VoIP programs though, if the demand is high enough ~ Just let me know which programs you are interested in.
