I don’t see how anyone could have thought this would be ok. You give us these specializations in the Betas to test and the hype ensues for the new specs. Then you gate them behind PvE or a ton of mindless objective zerging in WvW. What possibly could have made you think ‘Yeah, they want to play through 90% of new content with their OLD class mechanics so that they can unlock a NEW class mechanic when they are almost FINISHED with the content!!!!!’ What the hell? Having and elite spec is not endgame and it was ignorant to make it so.

I don’t know what [bags] runs, but majority heavy comps get a bit repetitive in my opinion.
We normally run 2x Guards 2x Mesmer and 1x Ele when we set up for ideal roaming. I’m sure we could all roll our necros and get that easymode going though…

Given that this is so well known, I would say the only people taking this needed ‘help’ are you guys. Seriously. Maguuma is the only server where I have perplexity D/D eles waste my time. I think just about the only things from Mag I have fought that aren’t condi are Guardians for the obvious reason and Thieves because well….it’s just more fun.
Still though, I’ll be back Thursday and I’m sure we can get a 3v3 going to deflate that ego.

The argument that SBI won on reset night or even through the weekend is weak sauce. This is like saying you won the first quarter of a basketball game. Who cares? A loss is a loss.
I wish I could see more GvG’s being set up instead of all this QQ and excuses.
Uh, that’s actually an extreme poor analogy. In a basketball game, the 1st quarter of a basketball game is when they warm up. The most crucial period, also known as “clutch time”, is actually the last 5 minutes of the game. WvW, however, it’s reset weekend where things are the most important when it comes to fights. It’s when all the serious WvW guilds show up on reset and every server has their maps queued. Whether it’s SEA or EU, people will show up and get maps queued up. When weekdays come about, it all goes to coverage. Whoever have the bigger population that can show up 24/7.
For example, DB’s SEA presence is still godly. So they usually come about sweeping all our keeps even if it’s fully upgraded. Does that mean our entire server suck? Well, uh, no. It means we lack WvWers in that period in relative to the opponent’s numbers. The samething could be said of DB when on our NA primetime. They seem to lack the population and you could obviously see it on reset weekend. They have their own players validating this statement.
PPT to most serious WvW guilds means almost nothing. They know it ultimately comes down to coverage. Bigger servers will mostly (but not definitively) stomp smaller servers. We come for the fights. Thanks for some of the FA/DB here at least that isn’t trasktalking or trolling because they’re bored.
I would like to clarify that I was i no way trash talking or trolling. I simply pointed out that out of a 7 day battle, to claim SBI won the first 2 or 3 days of that just has no validation at all.
The basketball analogy wasn’t a poor one. You’re just delving into the analogy a little too much. Let me try to flesh it out some. If a basketball endgame score is 85-54 but the losing team was up by 6 points at the end of the first quarter, does that matter? No it doesn’t. At the end of the day, they lost. There was 3 other quarters to play.
That’s the point. SBI may have one day 1 and 2. They are losing day 3,4, and 5 though. The arguments of coverage is old as well. Everyone who plays the game of WvW understands the coverage pains.
What I’d love to see here on these forums instead of QQ though is GvG set ups between BAGS and HOPE or other guilds. Let’s stop seeing all the trash going back and forth how they all 1v5 people and there 10 man mob destroyed a 50 man zerg. Let’s see these high powered guilds set some things up and battle it out. Make it even, make it fair, make it fun.
I’m sure once we can field more than 8-12 a night that gvgs will become something we do regularly. For now, we are stoked to get 10 people on at once. Did get the opportunity to see HOPE gvg last night though and they are indeed good so I look forward to it. Hopefully it can happen sooner rather than later. We are slowly gaining members!

You posted a video here being kitteny about wiping people yet when you do it, it is never with even or lesser numbers. TE built open field siege because your 40 man group was incoming and another 20 was flanking. Seriously? LOOK AT THE MINI MAP AT 2:21. AGAIN at 6:50.
Your coordination is minimal. All you can really do is keep a semblance of a stack. You don’t use terrain to it’s fullest.
I don’t know what you were trying to accomplish here, but you failed at it while making FA look bad. Making FA look bad is a bit tough too, because you guys generally have good coordination and fun guild groups to fight.
Stop outnumbering people and get some kills then come back and post a video. Until then don’t waste peoples time with this crap.

I still believe coverage is king. All that happened here is that the fairweathers stopping playing on sunday/monday because they suck. Then it is a lack of coverage. That’s right. Do you have any idea how much money you are losing by not making decent armor skins for the gem store ? Or even decent town clothes.
The style of the added light armor sets that have been added after release have been very ho-hum boring. Hell I play a female mesmer and I’ve been xmuting my lvl1 starter skirt forever. I like some of the other stuff. But none of the newer stuff. Wow its been bad.
If you look at a game like Tera , crazy armor bikinis aside , the choices of light armor is light years ahead of gw2. Tera is a pretty bad game , that’s true but they make up for it with a crazy good art team for town clothes and armor.
You can make a fortune if you get a real art team in there and design some nice stuff.
I know I for a one have spent 200$ ez on gems so far. Every patch I look at the new skins ready to buy. I would glady pay top $$ for some nice looking stuff.
I’m not alone anet, most of the people I play with go crazy for new exciting armor skins. You are basicly losing money every time you fail to put up some must have skins.
I know Tera online stinks , but I’ll say it again. That game gets by on style alone. Armor/town clothes gem shop are light years ahead of what we have in gw2.

Because similar events haven’t been reported in every WvW week ever.
If you really want to stretch it: SBI has way more casuals than anybody else that gladly jump on the bandwagon for wins but duck out by the week if they’re losing – especially if they have anything better to do. In which case be proud: your server is the most fickle server in terms of extremes.
It’s been an intense week, and SBI is definitely worthy of their position on the ladder… but its like SBI is insulted to be losing to YB… and no one respects a garbage attitude like that.
Unfortunately, I believe that to be true. I wish we could get people to show up, because that would make this week amazing, instead of just fun. Imagine if we were all fielding the same numbers at the same time, and our PPT was 1-5k apart? I know that with the unbalance on the servers that will probably never happen, but in the old days, those were always the best matchups.
I’m big on respect… anyone who runs with me or by my tag knows this..
Having said that… It IS still insulting to lose to yaks. BECAUSE SBI IS a better, stronger, more organized server. We not winning at the moment… But not because we didn’t open the week with a huge lead… not because of supply wasting trolls… definitely not because Yaks is better….
But because we are fielding 50% of what we normally do. EBG is almost ALWAYS a 1 hour que… there is no que.. SBI BL is normally QUED.. again.. no que.. The other 2 BL’s are normally medium que.. also… NO QUE.
We are missing ALOT of players. Yet still yaks wants to talk smack like they’ve beaten us straight up. They talk as if They have overcome the big RED SBI MACHINE.
They haven’t. They been beating up on pugs, militia and a handful of Die hard WvW guys.
So its nothing to be proud of but, by all means… brag away lol.

Yaks cannot beat SBI with what they have to bring to the table under any other circumstances than SBI being outmanned.

Yak’s Bend is obviously invigorated by the lead they have and are maintaining/gaining their lead and SBI fairweathers are crumbling. I say good job to Yaks this week for giving us as a server a wake up call and showing that when we aren’t decimating the enemy that we lose a ton of people.

The disparity is obviously all in the off-hour population here. The 12 minute point ticks aid in this disparity because they allow for a lot of fluctuation/accumulation. Why not increase the time between point ticks? This in the short term would at least decrease the massive number disparity on the score board that drives many people away from wvw. You could even apply this in phases or areas. Such as your borderland only gives points to the enemy every 30 mins or at a reduced rate during times of population disparity. This of course would leave anet to create a way of tracking this disparity and making use of it.

For those of us who don’t omniblob or karma train it is very very boring. Roaming around 50-75% of the time looking for people to fight because Ebay and NSP for the most part aren’t showing up at all anymore. I don’t blame them really, just sucks for everyone all around.
Assuming you are who I think you are…
Good god, you are a tank. I don’t think any other guardian has given me as much trouble in WvW as you did earlier during those duels. It’s been a while since I had to call a stalemate against someone who was not an ele. I was the ranger, Billiamgrace was the mesmer.
Ahh, yeah that was a fun duel, you got that regen down to a science :P
I’m actually not tanky at all, I only run about 2700 total armor and 600 healing. I just hold my own well against condi classes because I shifted to Soldier Runes and I use SoR for the passive condi removal along with the traited passive condi removal.
Oh, and FOR SHAME for that mesmer using perplexity runes. Isn’t Condi Mes strong enough without using the most over powered rune set in the game? We all need to boycott that garbage.
Perplexity runes definitely do need nerfing. The fact that the sixth bonus doesn’t have an ICD is straight up ridiculous.
That being said, I’ve been running a Condition-Interrupt build with the same trait layout (give or take 5 trait points here or there) since late April (i.e. before Mesmer interrupts were buffed, before Perplexity runes were introduced). I’m not going to forego a runeset that synergizes perfectly with that build/playstyle purely because it is unbalanced for non-mesmers. There are certainly strong Condi Mesmer builds sans Perplexity runes. However, those builds are not interrupt builds and I, personally, do not find them to be as rewarding to play.
I realize this comes across as a massive QQ on my part. For that, I apologize. I honestly enjoyed fighting you earlier. You play the meditation style well.
You mention that it is unbalanced for non-mesmers. I would think it is the MOST imbalanced for classes that can already apply confusion, since your duration and stacking intensity is MUCH higher. That said, I understand people ran confusion before the runes, still do, and will continue to do so once they are nerfed and that’s fine. The fact that the set creates a great imbalance though can not be ignored.

I’d love to fight XOXO one on one; the problem is that every time I see you guys it’s a 3-5 man group with a couple of random pugs along for the ride, and every time someone declares a fight club somewhere by the time I notice it’s too late.
I will say this though: I was very amused last night when you all jumped my warrior, I dove off the bridge, and then got into a vicious one on one fight with an NSP Guard underneath said bridge while a whole bunch of pubbers got rolled above. I’d love to fight XOXO one on one; the problem is that every time I see you guys it’s a 3-5 man group with a couple of random pugs along for the ride, and every time someone declares a fight club somewhere by the time I notice it’s too late.
I will say this though: I was very amused last night when you all jumped my warrior, I dove off the bridge, and then got into a vicious one on one fight with an NSP Guard underneath said bridge while a whole bunch of pubbers got rolled above. For those complaining about “no roaming groups”, clearly you haven’t been looking that hard. INCO is more than willing to take any fight, regardless of the odds, and takes especial pride in dragging the entire enemy zerg to an objective in the middle of the Borderlands sticks. If you want a fight, look on your home BL’s North Supply for some people camping out with a ridiculous amount of ballistas (that aren’t used).
You have literally never done any of those things. Be quiet.

It is frustrating as a roamer to already normally be fighting outnumbered and then when you are doing well the tide of red washed over you. We were in the same predicament 2 weeks against SoR and people need not forget that.
