Change eagle eye from increased longbow range and 5% dmg. to +15-17% damage, and bam, rangers would be in the same position as warriors.
If you reduced the range of longbows, made melee weapons do fewer evades, I am sure that the devs would give you some love.
The reflect and immunity are too powerful for tpvp to be nerfed to the ground for something like this.
Some chain ability addition, or a longer duration, directional immunity would be more helpful, in line with what the devs seem to want for the shield, without giving warriors enough to make all the mesmers reroll.
Still waiting for the shield to be useful for pve as more than Giganticus crutch.

use this build lately with full berserker gear… gives highest possible non-support armor healing, great group buffs, and personal dps.
I run with ~70% crit, 95% bonus crit damage, and 3K+ power
Adrenalin regen is ~300 every few seconds, banner is ~150/sec
Healing surge is 8k every 30, or a full adrenalin bar if you don’t need the larger heal
Horn cleanses yourself, and your group… wins all around
I think in my full damage build, I had about 20-25% more damage potential, but spent a lot more time kissing dirt.
20-0-0-30-20 works well, not the sturdiest, but has a good balance of healing and damage.
got for adrenalin dps boost, axe crit dmg, boon damage, warhorn cleanse, and healing shouts.
run with full 30s dur shouts, but two shouts are usually enough if you want to change one up
I ran with this for a long time with full zerker gear, and did great, had near 100% crit rate with 110% crit damage…

go for berserker for extremely high dps, with enough healing to survive, or go for vit/tuff/pow for a lower damage with more breathing room build.
warhorn is clinch for condition removal, weakness, and vigor, all which will keep you alive.
Learn to dodge.

Good move in my opinion, warrior has a lot more options just by swapping weapons out. I mostly do pve now, and it works wonders there as well.

I prefer signet of fury, bolas, and Fear Me, for a ranged build like this, with signet of rage for personal dps buffs (battle standard for battle rezzing in 5mans if necessary)
longbow with force, and rifle with earth
full berserkers armor jewelry, with rubies should put you up to 100%+ crit bonus dmg and over 3.2k power, if I am remembering correctly.
Survivability is good due to being ranged, (at least in pve). I have always had more success with the longbow at short and medium range, hence, pairing it with the rifle for its bleeds, and its burst ability. Tapping the mob before going to longbow to set up bleeds will get you that extra 10%.
you should always be somewhat close when shooting your combustive shot, and hopefully with an immob on the target. Closing the range will negate the slow travel time, and allow you to use longbow #2 to get a decent 3shot hit for a few more k, and much more burning uptime.
All told, you end up with
~90% crit
~100% crit bonus dmg
+27% dmg (12% from adren, 10% from bleeding, and 5% from sigil of force)
~3.4k power
Expect some big hits, not as much consistent dps, or as frequent burst as a melee build, but much better for staying alive on tough dungeons, or in wvw spvp packs.
Until they increase the travel time on the aoe abilities, the longbow is a melee aoe/combo support weapon.
Hitting with the #3 at melee range only has the delay of the cast time, and the burst ability is instant cast. I have hit people for 10k with the #3 while they were on fire, but that was after using a bull’s rush to get into melee, then lighting them up.
Cut travel time on the #3 and the burst and you are done.
Hmm, something is up with your math… running with 3k attack, and 50% crit damage on my spvp gear, even if all hits are crit on the auto attack, you are looking at about 7-8k over 4.5 seconds, with the stacks of vulnerability you are putting up.
Hundred Blades will do about 10-15k on the same mob in a second less time.
If you wanted to auto attack to kill someone, use a mace, stun them for a precision bonus, and go to town. Props for trying to get one of the most feared burst abilities in the game buffed, but no one is going to buy into it.
I run with 2-3 rangers in exp mode dungeons, and the only time I pull ahead on damage numbers is when I go melee on the axe, which is more dangerous. comparing the ranger longbow to the warrior rifle and they are pretty close, especially when you consider the consistent pet damage, and the speed with which you hit the mobs.
It would be nice to have a dps meter though.
This buff, along with your crit bonus from sigil of accuracy, will not show up on your character sheet. It was working the last time I tested it though.
Seems like they fixed the charge animations. Did a few hours of tpvp with the HB build, and everything hit when it should have. This is a huge fix for warriors.
The Arah path with the ooze boss has an event where you get a damage buff, pretty sure I burst with an axe for 72k with the full stacks… before filling out my dps set. Not been in CoE yet, but well done!
I used this for a couple weeks, but ended up going to an axe critdmg build, which dropped the regen. In the end, I could still be burst down.

Longbow is great for laying out some OK damage at range, then putting the smack down on people who charge at you.
If they rush the fixes, it will only cause worse bugs.
I used to toll Elitist Jerks on WoW, and I am hoping someone has started breaking down the numbers for this game.
My current issue is related to the weight of crit, and crit dmg vs. condition damage for weapons like the sword on the warrior.
Has anyone started working on these equations yet, or am I sticking to estimation and napkin math?
Beating Arah is totally satisfying and fulfilling. Had a few 3-4 hour runs, but we figured it out, do it in about an hour and a half, without skipping anything.
For giganticus, a few people should have res utilities to save from running back. Phases 2-3 should be at ranged, and phase 1 should have a good melee beating down the grubs/locusts in the ranged pile.
If your damage sucks, take a look at the armor you are wearing. The warhorn is an offhand slot, and while some offhands do have damage abilities, none can compare to the consistent damage of the axe in the main slot, both for #1 and the burst ability. The longbow is a great burst weapon at short/medium range. I have burst other warriors with it for upwards of 6k on the #3 ability, and immob is always better than another cripple.
The warhorn gives you more than just swiftness, it gives you vigor, which will allow you to dodge twice as often. Bind dodge to an easy key, and start avoiding that damage when your stances are down.
Get yourself up to 40-50% passive crit, 40-50% crit damage, and somewhere close to 3k attack and the whole world will open up.
As for putting on a second melee set… go for it. A good warrior has his bags filled with extra weapons. When you get to a siege, throw on a longbow. Skirmishing in between or inside keeps? Go double melee set all the way. Nothing makes the low level chaff break more quickly than getting in their face.
People say that warriors can’t take hits because they like to stand there on the mob, without worrying about anything but weapon abilities, which is what the guardian does.
The warrior’s defenses lay in CC’s, invulnerability stances, like shield stance and Endure Pain, dodges to avoid predictable hits (lots of options to get vigor), and kiting with cripple and immob to fill in the gaps.
Guardians are lazy and just hit the mob with blinds and blocks, over and over.
I would drop the greatsword, and pick up a mace and shield to go with your hammer to maximize face time with a mob

You have to take an active hand in your own defenses, passive crap is for babies.

worked pretty well in WvW over the weekend, but I ended up being over-extended in the front lines a bit too often for my liking.
Ranged damage on either the rifle or the longbow was substantially lower than I was used to, which also caused me to leap ahead of any pack. Granted, in smaller skirmishes, my group of 4-6 could take down up to 12 others, but I would probably attribute that to fighting poorly leveled/geared enemies.
A four man zerker stated team with 2 GS warriors, a 2 bow ranger, and a GS/staff mesmer would annihilate us in less than 6 seconds, first time we have lost in equal numbers fights…. I admit, it gave me a few doubts.

I can think of about 5 women in the guild atm, but I haven’t done a head count on them yet. One officer, and several veterans are all female, but most of them are in relationships, and while flirting is a constant; harassment, stalking, or uninvited cyber will get you gkicked faster than it took me to type this message.

Tried it out last night, minus the soldier’s runes and using a longbow instead of a rifle, which is what I had available(broke donating to pvp commanders training book for guild) and it worked pretty well in EM Arah.
I have used this exact weapon set in WvW before, and I love the ability to bug out when being chased by a zerg. Hopefully the extra healing will keep me on target longer.
Any good recommendations for a sword skin? I dislike the crafted exotic look, and accidentally sold my centaur’s sword. Hopefully the nude bot farmer will leave the event location so it can progress to the vendor. Until then, I am looking for something good.

The only concern I picked up while reading was your discounting of the longbow. While it is clunky to use, not as streamlined as the rifle, nor as much consistent damage as a melee weapon set, it does have a good niche.
The bow’s burst ability and no3 ability both are extremely effective at pressuring groups of enemies, especially when moving to support a beleaguered point defender. No3 can easily crit for 8-9k on light enemies, and being able to drop a large fire combo field can easily turn a battle if you have allies capable of capitalizing on it.

My guild took a look at its close knit community, and decided to double/triple its numbers rapidly due to the difficulties of managing a pug zerg. It totally changes the nature of your gaming community, and officers have to work twice as hard to keep everything on the up and up.
The great resource that anet gave us for just this purpose is being able to join multiple guilds. Your guild too small? Can’t get enough money for General?
Join one that can.
Ok, maybe not free, but much cheaper. The under-pop side would be able to set up more defenses to hold what they own, but would lack the supply to take advantage of the reduced costs to go on the offensive.
I tend to agree with Daish here. The large servers at the top with all 24/7 coverage won’t notice much difference, but it will encourage wvwer’s with long queues to balance out the server population a bit more.
While I don’t think that Anet should dump people out of wvw if they enemy decided to leave the map in order to cut down on people attacking a keep, it would be a good idea to prevent new people from joining the map on the over-populated sides.
Gates of Madness has no server queues for after 1am pst, and after being back capped nightly for a week, we usually have very short (15min) queues for US prime time as well.
Hopefully either more euro/ausi guilds will transfer over, or our rating will drop significantly enough that we are not fighting servers with 24/7 coverage anymore.
Hmm, I do enjoy specs like this, and have used the soldiers rune set extensively before. But have you taken a look at using the higher quality gems instead of the soldier’s rune set. From what you have posted, you only use 2 of your shouts for as needed cleansing, which balances out with the mending healing skill.
The other benefit from the rune set is vitality, and some toughness, which is also obtainable through gems, but with the benefit of offensive stats as well.

I think Dejh has the right idea here, and was about to post something similar until I read his post.
I am not sure about a fixed cost for a burst skill working, as there are traits which affect the cost of bursts already.
I would like to see a number of options for each weapons burst:
f1 damage (axe, rifle, longbow, sword)
f2 buff (greatsword)
f3 debuff/cc (Hammer/Mace)
Giving weapons more burst options may require some more tuning (read damage nerf), but giving warrior actual options for how they want to fight will help a lot to make the class more interesting.
Given that passive defenses are incredibly weak in this game, I would like to see a damage nerf balanced out with more options to prevent yourself from being hit, but that did not stop your damage uptime.
Additionally, traits that reduced the cost of dodge, reduced the cooldown of physical abilities when hit, or cause a knock down when hit in shield stance or while blocking etc…
Damage is not enough to make a class complete imho.
