I would have tried myself but the event started since June 23 and AN just decided it was time to let us now. Between school and the lack of communication I lost all my motivation to even think about something.

Honestly I find the dragon very similar to Tequatle, but the fight was indeed epic.
Something that I always felt that GW2 lacked was the feeling of being… powerful, most of the content is designed to do it with others. But this? Being able to draw back one of the most powerful minion a dragon can create by yourself feels really epic.
I did notice. I don’t think that means anything just a representation of the Pale Tree.
It’s true they are getting a break, if it is mid season I doub it.
A balance patch is comming and then a tournament, there’s a limit of what ANet can do. Maybe in the next chapter we are going into a new area and they need time to polish.

I had the same though once, that dodge may be the problem but soon realized that wasn’t the case.
The problem are the mobs, and the design behind them. If they could attack faster, increase the melee AoE damage, or change the mechanics in some AoE skills would change the meta in PvE really fast, and “stack” gameplay would be reduced a lot.
iLeap fix/rework is something that must happen. It has been so buggy for so long and then they “fix”/nerf it with nothing in return. I find extremly frustrating to use the skill and that my clon doesn’t even reach the target because bad pathing.
I would like to suggest some changes but I think I’m gonna wait until the Mesmer’s Skill Bar.

You havent stopped to think how this would affect the Thief, it would solve the problem? how many classes have access to chill and interrupts? how would this affect the gameplay of the thief? how could the thief counter this? would remain the thief still playable?. And there are much more questions that a balance team has to respond and your topic doesnt adress.
Your topic is driven by ignorance and personal taste.
The thread doesnt bring anything important to the table but useless discussion about what profession (Ranger or Mesmer) is more useless than the other, even when there are truth (and exaggerate complains) in both sides and very well written arguments.

Things I think:
-The map is a representation of Tyra as a magic universe.
-The small orbs represent the dragons.
-The big middle orb represents the magic of Tyra.
-The Pale Tree is the guardian of the magic of Tyra (Big Middle Orb).
First I would like to clarify something in you statement #3.
What I can conclude for sure from this : bubbles is the second elder dragon to awake following primordius (this contradicts the wiki).
If we are strict about what the wiki says, it never mentions the date of awakenning of Bubbles. But looking around in the lore of Kraits its says:
Fifty years ago, however, they were forced out of the Unending Ocean’s deepest trenches, their former homeland, by the deep sea dragon’s forces.
and
There has been mention of the krait, quaggan and other sea-creatures that have been driven out of the sea by an “underwater dragon”, and the invasion of the krait, who formerly lived in the deepest trenches of the Unending Ocean, into quaggan lands 50 years ago coincide with the approximate awakening of this dragon.
If we are in 1327AE then that means the Quaggan and the Krait arrived around 1275AE and looking at the last quote Bubbles awoke around that time.
So my own conclusions are:
1.- ArenaNet is hintting us the true year of Bubbles awakenning 1120-1165 AE (remeber wiki is mostly made by fans).
If this were true there are two options:
-Zhaitan is alive.
-Zhaitan’s magic went back to Tyra.
-AN made a mistake and is actually Mordremoth trying to fuse/absorb the magic of Tyra.
I can’t develop more this theories for the lack of information, both of them looks kind of incompatible with what we know at the moment.
2.- The order of shinning it’s just random.
It doesn’t look probable but It may be the best for the development of the story. We know Mordremoth has acces to one of the biggest lay lines in Tyra that are related to waypoints, and some waypoints now look destroyed by tangles, tangles that Taimi thinks are Mordremoth himself. It may be a way to absorb the magic of Tyra and that would explain the last scene we watched with the Green Orb Fusing with the Big Middle Orb.
The next chapter we are gonna talk with the Pale Tree and hopefully a little more will be revelead.
I actually liked the mood. When they are laughing at the end of Entanglement I felt it was more of a bitter laugh trying to soften the mood.
I like how Taimi is, probably my favorite, she is really smart but at the same time is just a kid, an orphan kid, and orphan sick kid. It’s like her moral code were incomplete/broken, because she knows what is right or wrong but still feels excited about wrong doing and she doesnt hide it. That’s why Bram is constantly reprehending her, besides he is always trying to protect her. Rox, in the other hand, doesnt feel that emphaty and I think she may be a little jealous of the relationship that Bram and Taimi have developed.
But even then I do feel the importance that the rest of the team is giving to the matter. If you start looking Taimi as the kid she is, you may start enjoying and reading the mood correctly.
TL; Taimi is an overcondifent genius sick orphan KID asuran with a broken/incomplete moral code. I think her personality/dialogs are the best developed and fits almost perfectly in conjuction with Brham.
One that requires skill, that is difficult to master, but once you get the hang of it, you become a monster.
Yo are talking about the Thief. Elementalist d/d is great too but not that hard master.
I’m having latency issues in the game and web page. Could someone tell me why is this? It’s only in GW2.

This kind of post gives me hope so they start fixing instead of breaking.
I read some where AN will take a break with the patches to prepare for the new LS season 2.
1. Historian, Library or something like that: The lore should be within the game. All the mini stories in the site, the atlas and the like, is cool but it shouldn’t replace a way to know the lore within the game.
2. Profession bug fixes: There a lot of bugs just in the profession. Before trying to keep balancing with numbers and reworks, bug fixes should be made, specially the annoying ones.
3. Improve story telling: Most of the problems with the LS could have been avoid with a better way of telling the story. Scarlet was a great villain but the way she was presented to us was crude.
Is a shame you can’t handle the difficulty of the game, specially when most of the people playing says is too easy.
Indeed. LA was not an human settlement. And probably will be rebuild with a lot of changes.
I though some time back the devs said the dragons were not involved. But that’s just something I heard from someone else, so I don’t know if it’s true.
If the devs never said that, then I’m pretty sure it’s Mordremoth too, probably the only elder dragon that can corrupt sylvaries because they share the same element.
If it’s true the dragons are not involved then I think the Mursaat are behind this and we will hear of the Bloodstones and White Mantle again. It’s said that a bloodstone is hide some where in LA so that’s a good reason that she is attacking it. Besides she saids in her diary that someone is calling her from the jungle, and I read that the mursaat are hidden in the jungle.
I may be wrong but it’s the only thing that sounds good if the dragons are not involved in Scarlet’s madness.
I think any stealth ability should interrupt any action in progress and/or lock any damaging skill for a small period from 0.2s to 0.5s (the right number shouldnt be so hard to find). This will solve the problem of getting out of stealth by accident not only for the trait but stealth skills in general.
Experienced players shouldnt have problems with this change meanwhile newbies to the class will be less punished while learning the mechanics. Reducing the skill cap of stealth should help to balance the anoying parts of the same in the future.
This is a great idea, It would be perfect if someone could re-play the content of the living world specially new players as it is an import thing in the lore of the game. GW2 pays a lot of attention into dates and things that happened in the past, so it makes sense having this historian. In worst case, at least he should say what has been happening like reading a book.

in a 1v1 or roaming situation, i know u are right. i eouldnt mind giving up some of our dueling abilities to get some team and large group viable abilities. op didnt say up like this. we are great in 1v1’s but in a zerg situation we lack a lot. as a light armor we should not be forced into a dueling role as dueling roles are medium armor specs and not light. look at thief! thats a duelist. a mes is light armor, so we need aoe and not ai. and yes we will not get any buffs ever because mesmer does fin in spvp. anet only balances around 1v1 spvp so mes weill only get a little tweak here and there and stay veilbot until anet nerfs veil and then we will be not part of large group fights anymore and stuck as boring roaming annoyance unless anet decides to split wvwv and spvp balance again.
I have to disagree with you there. We have 2 weapons with 1200 range and enough utlity to support our zerg in WvW if that’s what we wanna do. We are not even close to have the problems that Thieves deal with in WvW. They are as good roamers as us but in zergs they don’t even have a weapon with more of 900 range when every other proffesion have at least one with 1200 range. And what do they do in a zerg when there is no physical confrontation? Try to get in range to hit their SB skills and get almost killed in the process or wait for a fight that may never happen. And I know this because I’m not only a Mesmer player but aThief too.
As I said before, we as Mesmers have a lot of specs, going from dps to controll or support, and we are completely viable doing it. We can do damage from distance, putting conditions or just flat damage. We may not have as much invisibility skills as a Thief but what we lack in number we compensate in quallity (I’m looking at you Prismatic Understanding).
We may not have the AoE of an Elementalist, the range of a Ranger, or the vitality of a Warrior, but we have the best deception skills in the game and we are probably the best duelist profession, not for nothing we have a trait line called Dueling.
sry but a thief has clusterbomb which he can spam and it does a ton of dmg, plus u can gank all enemy casters while being a medium armor class. im not saying thief doesnt need buffs in the zerg area. it does need buffs too. but so does mes. being forced to be a support with veil, tw, feedback(which isnt that effective anymore due to the zergs being mainly war/guard that dont use projectiles) and nullfield which is not fun imo. im doing alright in gvg’s, but then again im only there because they need the veil and tw, because any other class can replace `the mes easily:

Ok, at least we both agreed that Thief lacks zerg presence, I just wanna say that 900 range Cluster Bomb is not as good as you mentioned.
In the end I’m just gonna update the list that you did to try making you notice the strenghts of the Mesmer.

Now ignoring you have the Elementalist in a really high standard (he is not that good), the mesmer can do pretty amazing things in WvW. I didn’t put the Mesmer in condi removal because even it has enough skill to remove party’s conditions I haven’t played it.

Right now our only “dungeon” that is actually hard is Fractals of the Mist and only in the higher levels, but it’s awasome! In the other hand even with all the different “paths” and all the resources you are spending to develop more It’s just ONE place for hardcore PvE players.
So this idea is a simple idea, devolop a Hard Mode for every dungeon in the game: more boons, conditions, life and armor for all the mobs, adding skills and IA for the bosses. Obviusly an increase of rewards is needed but nothing you haven’t done.
I repeat, the idea is simple, popular, probably asked by someone else and now is lost in the forums or even already discussed in your meetings but with negative rasults or something. So the question I really have is: what is the principal problem you face to implement this?
Start from what you like and what you dont, just like your first post. You already said you like S/D so start from there and build something you can feel confortable. Most of the times building something by your own will work better than taking the builds from someone else, specially because you know what you wanna do and where you wanna go with it.

With the new healing skill I tried a new build around the Venomous Aura trait. The point is to support your party through venoms while doing a really good amount of condition damage by your own. This build is focused in PvE and WvW. I haven’t been able to try this build in WvW but even with the short range of SB this should work fine offensively, sharing venoms and trying to catch off guard some enemies, but where it truelly shines is defensively.
There are some variants to the build that I haven’t tried but I want to, like Leeching Venoms, spend more points in Deadly Arts for Quick Venoms, and some changes in the gear. The build I’m using right now may be not the best since is still in constant change.
I do not recommend this build for PvP unless your team is well organized but you still will be doing nice damage if you want to try it.

If levelling is going to be so pointless in the end, why even have it? And 80 levels of it too, way more than most mmos.
If you’re going to have the decrease- should have an increase when you go into higher level areas too.
I think that a lot of people hasn’t been telling you the reason in the right way and It’s more trying to blaming you for thinking different. I’m gonna tell you why your suggestion wont be ever considered seriously and why some people are mocking you.
GW2 in their philosophy stated they wanted to bring the feeling of a true MMO were the community instead of compeating for mobs, loots or any kind of rewards they would try to help each other. You can see this easily in the player interactions with other players like the combo system, the down/drown system and the events system.
They did it too for those player that are high level and that want to help others low levels friends without staying there just tanking mobs for the other to kill, they felt this was boring.
Another reason was the meta-events in low levels would suffer from high level players entering the zone to participate, they wouldnt be able to increase the difficulty for high levels without affecting the low levels.
Now, you have the wrong concept that you will be undepowered in these areas as when you played them. Full geared (exotic set level 80) you should be able to take down most of the mobs really easy, and this comes from a squishy Thief with full Berzerk set.
The only thing that I may agree with you it’s the part where I don’t really feel “legendary” but I think you are focusing the problem in the wrong area.

I just hope the Scavenger Hunt doesnt have any RNG concepts because then there wont be any meaning doing it.
The only problem is that I can’t really play as I want to play because of the first 5 skills that are chosen for me. Someone could say that I chose that weapon therefore I chose those skills, well, it’s not true. Lets say I’m a mesmer and I want to play with a Staff, but condition damage its not that appealing for me, I have 3 choices:
1.- Change weapon to play with something like GS that is based on attack damage.
2.- Roll condition build even If Im not that interested in that.
3.- Play as I want to, even if I will only be a waste in any party.
It comes to how much I want to play with Staff, but at the end I wont be satisfied with any of the choices. This is only one example, and how every weapon in every profession it’s not designed to be played as any role. This is not the rule though, like the thief with D/D that can run both kind of builds.
I think this should be adressed, getting a solution is hard and would need a lot of work but I hope you can take my opinion in consideration. Still I don’t wanna go without giving any suggestion, even if it’s bad.
SUGESSTION: I think there should be a condition set and a normal damage set for each weapon. That would help the feeling that some people has that they dont truelly chose how to play.

Agreed with Firebird, besides, the LS running right now is related to the GW lore. It gives some interesting for us.
This is a great idea. But I have a few concerns, specially the rate that changes (buffs, nerfs and reworks) happens is really fast, and they just announced that it will get faster. I hope the help we could offer would be enough to you to dont stay behind.
PS these ppl in other proffession forums who ask nerfs are mostly thieves so think abouth it you ask them to be nerfed then they are weaker then you than they ask nerfs on you and so on and so on just stop.

They already said that Cantha is like %99 not to happen, NCSoft is against including the asiatic continent in the game.
The game is to annoying to actually be fun, I wanted to complete my Daily doing only things in South Cove but I couldnt because I couldnt bring my self to enjoy the game. To many crabs and giant crabs, and to many crates, this game would be actually fun if it were team based, but solo… I still feel the stress in my shoulders.
Conclusion: Stresfull as hell!
What I really liked about GW1 was how well they were able to manage the different ethnics in the game. We need both Cantha and Elona expansion!
Legendaries are supposed to be mighty weapons. But a lot of them just look like a joke. Like the Quip, Who would use it? Clowns? Bring back the Ministrel! Oh wait, it was a joke! So who though a streamer pistol would be “Legendary”?

Someone knows of Anet have said a word about the subject? Are they interested in our concerns about the bad legendaries? What will they do to improve the legendaries that don’t look like legendaries at all?
The only legendary that I would do for my thief is Bolt but I don’t like playing sword/any set with it, so why should i do a legendary i wouldnt use? But i do want a legendary in my thief! Can you see the problem here?

Totally agree with you. The hardest part is know if they actually take this is an important issue.
I would like to craft incinerator but it’s just dissapointing how bad looks compared with the GS or the hammer.

I think both races, the tengu and the largos will be in the game, but in different expansions, who will be first? I do not know. Maybe the kodan will be in the game too as playable race but i doubt it, I think more of them as a complement race like the krait, quaggan, hylek, etc.
For a class, I would like they find a way to bring the assassin back, but I doubt it they will be able to. I don’t think the dervish will make it either, they are to human oriented since they get their powers from the six gods. I really don’t know what class they could implement since they got almost all covered with the ones we have now.
I’m more excited about the new weapons they will bring. I remember read somewhere in the forum someone asking for two-handed axes being implemented, and a red answered “We have to save some cool things for expansions”. So for the weapons I would like two-handed axes, lances, fist weapons, scythes, katares, and other professions implementing old weapons in their kit, like a mesmer with double pistols, or a thief finally being able to snipe with a rifle!
Sounds like a bug, report it in the right section.
The problem is some people may abuse the system to resport players don’t like and ban them until the player contact support. But I do agree that they should have more people cheking this kind of reports to ban these sellers faster.
