It’s hard to say at the moment, since we know nothing about raids. I’m myself planning on playing as a druid, but it won’t stop me for making ranger/druid build.
Anyway if they are experienced rangers they should able to figure out themselfs on how they could benefit your party.
Time of first Old Tom (prepatch) werent that great, casual times there were around 38s.

So after all difference is just 10s with the nerfed Icebow.

Your real time was 1min 30seconds. For my opinion your run in the video was slow. It certainly was not 42sec run.
I agreed with OP. Players should remove thier “Meta Zerk” from LFG. I would be nice to open LFG and not seeing meta noobs and exploiters filling the screen.
Meta is based on broken game mechanics/exploits and poisons the community. For kitten sake, you can’t even make your own “no meta” lfg without getting insults from player or continually killing your lfg.
I keep reading about rangers Rapid Fire over and over again. Every time I encounter another pew pew ranger in pvp I’m ready to block and dodge. They are a joke, It’s almost that they are not even there. Of course when I have to encounter much greater threat at the same time, suddenly pew pew ranger is making the whole situation very uncomfortable. I can’t be dodging and blocking rangers Rapid Fire while trying to deal with another player. My only option is to avoid everyone else and deal with the pew pew ranger first. Oh boy they drop like flies! Then again there are some situations where I just can’t do anything about it. So I have to flee and use surrounding in my advantage, simple as that.

You can try to play with no UI. Option → Control Options → User Interface → Show/Hide UI
When I posted above, I asked a question. “What region (North America or Europe) is your server in and at what time do you play?” You chose not to respond so I’m asking again.
That fractal seems to be bugged for sure. The route you where pinged was indeed correct. You just need to hug the gate and eventually you will be ported back to the boss room.
And still no way to report these people because you lose the kitten party chat after getting kicked from the party.
Nowadays you should be able to see list of name of the group you were last time. The problem is that reporting them doesn’t even have any effect. At least I have not seen any difference. And in a worst case scenario they will party report just for fun of it.
I didn’t know that the older crowd of gw2 community have been getting even more worse than before. Well I can’t blame them completely, since we are forced by the poor game mechanics or so called “meta”. And the newcomers are treated wrongly as also educated wrongly.
I have seen way too many lfg who seek “meta” only. Realizing later that these players don’t even know what it is. They are just hoping to fit in and later on they learn only one way to do it. This is where the whole nonsense starts, especially if they get out of their comfort zone…
Apparently people found new way to kitten players. They let you join their party and then they kick you at the end boss. Without any good reason. Only replay I got from them is “we don’t want to play with you”. I checked they did not fill my spot, they finished with 4 players.
I also get a lot verbal abuse when joining parties. After the abuse and learn to play they block me. So if I show up with specific class I’m allowed to be abused and get blocked without even them seeing me playing?
The worst part is that no one stands against it. They just stay quiet and hope to get done with the dungeon already.
This have been getting only worse over these two years.

I enjoyed last the four winds very much. I was jumping like crazy all over the place. I love jumping puzzles and able to get to places we should not supposed to get. So my question is, will we ever able to get on top of the Zephyrites Ship? Trust me, I have tried. It was almost like someone wanted for me to get there, but then I just could only dream of it.
